Welcome Back to The Lost Glade!

Well the new year has started and with it a rejuvenation of the kindred cup. All kindreds have been reset so if your not in one tell an admin what you want. The competitions will be happening each month starting with the Vaul's Anvil Challenge which will continue all year in order to motivate players to paint their miniatures so be sure to pop on into Vauls anvil for that!

A few other changes will be made very soon so if anybody is having any problems with anything tell an admin and we will get it sorted.

Hey guys, I'm painting this up for a competition over at another forum, WAMP. It is a charity painting contest where once the entry is finished it is auctioned off on e-bay and the proceeds go to a charity. I'm doing a diorama using Avatars of War figs. I've been doing a WIP log for the last couple of months on a couple other forums so I'll just post all my pictures up to this point:

The above pictures show the general layout of the diorama and the startings of paint on the Beastlord.

Next I focused on the Beastlord:

I didn't like how the fur/hair on his back turned out in these pictures.

Some more progress on the beastlord, I re-did the fur on the back and cut off the banner poles.

The finished Beastlord:

I also got some work done on the dwarf, the pictures lose some details but the colors are pretty accurate. I still need to add some highlights and shadows to the shoulder armour and I need to decide on how I'm going to finish off the guns.

That is my progress thus far, any tips or crits are welcome as are words of encouragement too! It is for a really good charity that does research into stillbirths and miscarriages and how to prevent them which is something that hits really close to home with me and I'm sure a lot of people. The deadline is March 28 so I'm going to have to get a move on if I want to finish in time. I'll keep everyone up to date on the progress.

Thanks guys, the encouragement is appreciated. I've posted the latest update on both the Coolminiornot forum and WAMP (another painting forum) which are both very active and I've barely had any replies at all and here I get 2 within a few days.

Aw shucks, thanks guys. I got some major work done on it last night, I just have a few finishing touches left and then I'm done. It feels really strange to have this finished, I've been planning and working on it since October so it is hard to believe that I'm actually going to make the deadline! I'm also kinda sad to have to sell it, maybe I'll bid on it! I'll post the link to the auction when I get it up.

Done! All I need to do now is stain the wood and spray a sealer on it. I might add a few grass clumps as well but the painting is for all intents and purposes finished.

Thanks, I'm hoping it will sell for at least $100. I doubt it will get that high but I can dream. One of the guys in my local league (If you frequent Coolminiornot you'll know him as ScottRadom) is going to auction it for me and he said he wants to bid on it too. I'll post the auction link when it goes up. I'm also going to put it on Coolminiornot to get it some extra exposure.

I also have it up on Coolminiornot and so far it is doing great at 7.9 after 20-some votes. If you want to vote for it I'd appreciate it, here's the link:

Here is the auction link, the picture isn't showing up in this thread because the forum that it is linked from is having server problems. Hopefully it will be back up soon.

It sold! $103.50. I am very happy with the result. I also got feedback from Felix Paniagua (the guy that sculpted them) who said that of all the Avatars of War Entries he liked mine the best! You can check out the rest of the entries here:
