Welcome Back to The Lost Glade!

Well the new year has started and with it a rejuvenation of the kindred cup. All kindreds have been reset so if your not in one tell an admin what you want. The competitions will be happening each month starting with the Vaul's Anvil Challenge which will continue all year in order to motivate players to paint their miniatures so be sure to pop on into Vauls anvil for that!

A few other changes will be made very soon so if anybody is having any problems with anything tell an admin and we will get it sorted.

And lastly, don't forget to click the Warvault affiliate banner to the right over there! Vote for us and make us the #1 Wood Elf forum.

I don't get most of the rules still... I prefer to paint rather than play and I've noticed a lack of new building projects for boards and painting techniques.

I really liked Mad Doks section in White Dwarf and the 'Eavy Metal Showcase.

they also used to showcase some really great conversions online through Black Gobbo or through White Dwarf, i think they stopped encouraged it because of the rules dispute involved with some conversions.

oh well, maybe if all of the GW-related forums complain for long enough the company will take notice and turn things around.

Oh god, I just found the modelling articles... they're about 5 years out of date... They're still showing me how to build a Ziggurat from the New World campaign.

And I really do not like the painting articles... they're trying to sell me stuff while I learn :(

GW is a profit making company. If coversion and forums made money they would focus on it but as it is little kids who like the idea of superhuman man/robots with big guns makes the money so that is where they focus on. Its less hassle for them less work for them and makes more money for them. Only they are too blind to see that this is only a short term profit and not a nice long term steady income.

How many kids take the hobby up and stick with it for 5 years? I know i didn't but i got back into it and even now after nearly 3 years i don't play it much and rarely buy anything now.

Thats why prices are higher and higher as less people are sticking with the hobby so they need as much money from the kids when they are 'hooked'.

If GW are not careful this will destroy them. This is only my view so maybe not correct.
