“Sir were getting a distress call from the ground forces” shouted the comms man.
“Patch them through Fenrik”
+”Lord they came out of nowhere and began butchering our forces. The Imperial gurdDidn’t stand a chance and many of our brothers fell but we managed to secure a small area. We need backup or were done for down here.” +
“Who are you under attack by Brother? How many of you are left. I need numbers and fast...Brother?....Ranulf!”
“Sir the comms are down, sensors show a vessel on the other side of the planet though. Looks like Eldar sir.”
“Ok prepare Enrick and Pack Morkai for drop podding to the surface. The rest of us are going after that ship.”Elberneth observed from his position atop a ruined tower. Things were going well. The Avengers had successful destroyed the Imperial’s infantry, their corpses littering the battlefield; able to pollute the universe even in death.
Mesamë’s Hawks were mopping up the rest of the survivors, their lasblasters punching through their crude armour. The grav-tanks had all but obliterated the few Space Marine units, their Starcannons and Bright Lances raining incandescent fury on the “Glory of the Emperor”.
A movement caught Elberneth’s eye. A unit of Space Wolves had somehow managed to make it around past the tanks. With a steady pace they were approaching their position, vile looking grenades clutched in their hands. With a psycho-resonant thought Elberneth informed the pilots before diving off the side of the tower.
With another thought he activated his wings; there was a minuscule humming noise before the wings caught the air. Speeding faster than most eyes could follow; Elberneth darted through the streets towards the Space Wolves; his power sword, Vaul’s Pride, clutched surely in his hand.
In an instant he was among them, his blade biting through power armour and flesh. A few of the Marines fell to the ground clutching their heads as Elberneth let out a keening wail from his Banshee Mask. Plunging his sword through one of the Marine’s chest Elberneth used the man as a pivot point. Swinging around in a broad arc the Autarch affixed several plasma grenades to the remaining marines before spinning off into the sky, a slipstream trail behind him.
As the Marines were reduced to their composite materials Elberneth heard a transmission echoing from somewhere to the north. The Mon-Keigh had called for reinforcements.
The Eldar re-grouped.
