The Lost Glade News

Well, I was having a shower before and I thought to myself: 'I promised myself I'd honor Highborn by helping make The Lost Glade a better place, but I haven't really done anything yet!' I know James would never have sat on his ass, so I've decided to be proactive and make this To Do List. Basically, any ideas that have been marked down as 'to be implemented' will be put in this list, to make things organized. Hopefully this will make ideas turned into reality faster.

On that note, we'd love to hear ideas from you guys on what you think would make this site better, so get your thinking caps on and post!

Things that need doing:
~ More variety of skins (such as a spring and winter skin)
~ Eliminate (or at least reduce) users who post pornography.
~ Possibly some new forums, combining quieter forums together
~ Make a homepage for The Lost Glade
~ Work on 'Warhammer Tactical RPG' for the roleplaying forum

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head - at the moment. Watch here for updates.

Maybe my timing of log ins has just been fortunate, but it appears that the porn issue is no longer a problem- am i wrong in this?

Skin variety would be good- I don't want to pressure Foxtale, but he's the only one I know who knows how to make them... maybe have a competition on making a skin? (you'd have to release details on how). I think this idea was raised earlier.

Getting members to be generally 'more active' would be great, although there are many issues with this- we've always seemed to struggle. Still, we seem to have had quite a few new members join recently- maybe it'll help.

I too have realised the porn threads have stopped.

as for the veriaty of skins just after reading this earlyer i began looking for a tutorial or something on the net so I could perhaps help out (if only a little bit) If foxy or somebody else in the know how could make a little tutorial for us that'd be fantastic.

I know it's been worked on but i'd like to see the front page thats been in the works since whenever the caption contest was announced.

Making skins isn't really that hard; fundamentally, it's just a lot of smaller pictures.

Gethin and I returned victorious from The Porn Wars.

As for skins, yeah, maybe. I'll see about a Winter Skin if I get time this year.

That's good news about the porn being stopped, we really don't need that kind of stuff here.

New skins would be nice too, but not vital, after all since it's not been changed for a year we have the correct skin at the moment

How about trying to revitalise some forums that have had no new posts in the last month? Maybe creating new forums or combining 2 quiet forums into 1 new one.

Well, the "Into the Stars" and "Beyond the forests" forums are pretty similar, they could be combined.

The warhammer online gaming forum has nothing going on at the mo so perhaps we could get some games going. I'd be up for a game just as soon as my comp is fixed (on ma bro's atm)

I think this topic is a great idea, it would be good to see some activity around here again

Hmm...a few weeks before James passed away I suggested to him we delete WFBO, since it seemed nobody could be bothered playing. However if people are still interested we can keep it open, maybe we could even have a WFBO ladder.

Also I've just gotten Photoshop recently so that will make it easier for me to play.

I forfeit my match with SeanyPrawny. Procrastination took hold of me, and now I wiped my computer. There was a ladder before, wasn't there?

lol schmeag since our match started i've wiped my comp like 5 times. would be fantastic to get a new ladder on the go like though perhaps make sure it doesn't drag on by having a 2 day no post forfeit thingy on the go.

I'd really like to see the online games continue, but we need a strict rule on procrastination- say 10 days with no reply is a forfeit?

If you can't / aren't bothered to do the maps yourself, either organise someone to do them yourself or don't enter- no map within 10 days is also a forfeit.

Maximum games size for a 'tournament' system also needs to be small- 1000 pts at most.

I'd suggest smaller than 10 days coz if 1 person takes 9 days to pos then the othertakes another 9 days before you know it a year has passed by lol 5 days at the most though i'd recommend 2-3. It may be unfair If you were somewhere doing something but its also unfair on your opponent having to wait. unless of course your opponent doesn't mind waiting
