Welcome Back to The Lost Glade!

Well the new year has started and with it a rejuvenation of the kindred cup. All kindreds have been reset so if your not in one tell an admin what you want. The competitions will be happening each month starting with the Vaul's Anvil Challenge which will continue all year in order to motivate players to paint their miniatures so be sure to pop on into Vauls anvil for that!

A few other changes will be made very soon so if anybody is having any problems with anything tell an admin and we will get it sorted.

In a recent game an interesting subject matter came up and I was wondering if someone could help with this. In the wood elven army book it says that wild riders have the forest spirit rule as well as talismanic tattoos that means two ward saves but i was under the impression you could only have one ward save can someone clarify this for me as my dark elven opponent is a very cranky beardy rules lawyer... unsure.gif

You can only take one ward save at any one time, and ward saves do not combine - however, you are allowed to have multiple ward saves, and use the most applicable.

In this case, the wild riders use their 5+ forest spirit save against non-magical attacks, and their 6+ talismanic tatoos save against magical ones.

It's a shame you're stuck with a 'rules lawyer' as a regular opponent - I'll see if I can find a specific place(s) in the rule book which you can refer him to.

Edit: The paragraph in question is on page 30 of the main rule book (I don't know whether the little booklet is the same page-wise). The last paragraph under 'Ward Saves' states:

"...No model can ever try to make more than one ward save against a wound it has suffered. If a model has two saves for any reason, use the better ward save."

I hope that's helpful!
