Welcome Back to The Lost Glade!

Well the new year has started and with it a rejuvenation of the kindred cup. All kindreds have been reset so if your not in one tell an admin what you want. The competitions will be happening each month starting with the Vaul's Anvil Challenge which will continue all year in order to motivate players to paint their miniatures so be sure to pop on into Vauls anvil for that!

A few other changes will be made very soon so if anybody is having any problems with anything tell an admin and we will get it sorted.

Ok, so just for curiosity sake, where do you call home?

I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada:

http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&tab=wl&q=...%20saskatchewan

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saskatchewan
- this is mostly accurate but when it talks about climate it doesn't quite convey the wide range of temperatures. Winter (November to March) can get as cold as -50 degrees C (-58 F) and Summer (June to August) can get as hot as +40 degrees C (104 F).

I'm curious to learn more about where everyone else lives!

Northern part of Serbia, continental climate, agricurtural villages all across a wide plain and in the southern edge of the plain a low mountain (583m), and on it's northern slope, in the bend of the river Danube, Novi Sad (Hungarian:Ujvidek, German:Neusatz), a city with a population of 300 000 people, one of which is me :)

We had a lot of history you would consider interesting in books, but not in real life, at least in recent years, in the 70's and 80's this was the best place to live (that is, of all the socialist countries).

Now we have EXIT music festival (with more British people every year) and VERY good food (&beer). People are nice, too.

That's it in a nutshell...

Oh, yeah, we host a Warhammer tournament every spring. So consider yourselves invited to Uprising 2009 :)

I'm in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
I consider it a relatively big city, but I know many others who consider it pretty rural and, compared to other countries, our population is tiny.
We have a regular tournament every year for all different games- 'Orktober' or 'Orktoberfest'. I haven't managed to go myself yet- they manage consistently crappy timing every year.
The temperature is pretty humid and moderately hot most of the year. I consider the winters freezing, but I don't think the temperature ever goes much below 10 degrees celsius.

I consider Brisbane ok, but not great. I love Australia though- especially our wildlife and the effect seeing it has on tourists...

Good spider...
A spider the diameter of a hand isn't unusual here, but they're usually the more harmless ones. They make french exchange students scream and run in circles though... The above spider wouldn't do much to a human.
As a neat statistic- 9 out of 10 of the most dangerous snakes live in Australia. Out of the top 9, all live in Australia.
These are really just numbers though- it's uncommon for people to interact that closely with the animals here.

*gulps* I wouldn't say I have that big a phobia of spiders, but that thing just doesn't look right...I'd probably be running with the French people.

I live in Solihull, England. It's a fairly small town, we really shouldn't even have a Games workshop here, let alone one of the bigest in the West Midlands! it's fairly peaceful where i am, lots of parks and great trees for climbing, but very little in the way of rivers and mountains and whatever else. Leisure time here is spent down in the Town centre we have cinema's, hobby stores, bowling and the like, so if you ever get bored of the masses of homework you'll have something to pass the time.

I live in North Wales.

It's very wet.

Home to many retirees from the north-west of England.

Home of the longest name of a railway station in the world: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

And mount Snowdon.

The last Druids lived here when the Romans invaded.

There's loads more, take a look at the Wiki.

Here is the stock photo of Saskatoon. If you Google images for Saskatoon SK, you will find about 5 different photos from this angle:

a cool composite at night. The river isn't actually bent this much:

And a picture of the typical surrounding area. The joke around here is that it is so flat you can see your dog run away for a week:

OI! Billfred, give us back our science centre ¬_¬. Who wants to guess where i'm from then??

I hail from sunny sunny Glasgow, Scotland. And if i get my way will soon be working in the only GW left in Glasgow after the braehead shopping centre priced itself out of the lease for a tiny (and i mean two people at arms length tiny) store
