well I said I'd report on this but I really don't see much point. It was rediculous. First of all this is what I took:
Treeman ancient w/ annoyance, cluster and lementation.
Spellsinger w/ wildfire blades, iron curse icon, calingors stave.
20 glade guard w/ musician
20 glade guard w/ musician
1 boss (lord)
2 shamans lvl1's
orc shaman lvl1
30 spider riders!
Now the reason I say there was no point in making a report is because we only just finished turn 3 and he had 1 unit just over the middle of the board and the rest were either where they deployed, 4 steps infront of there or had retreated back.
Here is the jist of what happened.
My turn 1
moved forests either side of my glade guard that were in the center 10x2 side by side. Dryads in the forests (lose 2 from venom thicket) Shoot and kill 11 of his 40man archer unit(who hold with re-roll). right flank treeman ancient and treekin move to kill trools, 25 spears and 25 archers facing em.
His turn 1
Everything bar a unit of 40 spears squabbles or fights each other. think he loses about 9 guys in total through the army lol 1 unit of spears move toward my right hand dryads in the forest stopping about 7" away.
my turn 2
I charge his trolls with treekin causing 5 wounds and losing 1 then persueing them but not catching them. Move my ancient to their side to strangle root his 25 archers, killing 6. glade guard pick on the now 29 archers killing another 8 causing them to test and pass on reroll again.
his turn 2
everything squabbles or fights each other again except his spider riders who shuffle forward abit. his archers have to charge my ancient after squabbling. I stand and shoot killing another 6 but he makes his tests. He does nothing to me and I kill 2 of his (poor rolls) after charging downhill with a rank and banner he wins combat, I roll a 12 for my ld test and flee 11" :(
my turn 3
I fail to rally and the ancient moves another 11" toward the table edge :'( just short of it. treekin turn to face 25 spears. archers pepper the now 21man unit of archers killing another 8 or so. they finally panic which causes the 3 units next to them to panic (didn't sound right to me) and they all head toward the table edge stopping just before it.
His turn 3
All but 1 unit rally sending 1 unit off the board finally some vp's. Could be a win if he does nothing now and my ancient doesn't run off the board next turn. Everything suffers animosity again alot of units fight each other. his unit of 40 spears has done nothing but stand there battering each other since they got in charge range of my dryads and since I lost 2 guys going into the thicket and am stubborn there am not leaving. His magic phase however his orc shaman finally gets the spell through he's been trying every turn. With a savage war cry he headbutts my mage from across the battle field killing her outright. We call it there and with the points for the mage its a draw :/
I'm fairly sure he killed more of his models than I did. It was a hilarious game but I just wish I had been able to do more. I should of charged him with my dryads and treeman who I just held back to protect my glade guard, letting him squabble whilst I whittled down his numbers.
I know he rolled rather poorly with his animosity but when on a 1 he fights himself a 2-5 he just shuffles abit or does nothing and only on a 6 they do something it doesn't leave the gobos much in the way of tactical play.
Need a fun list to take against him next time so I can have just as much fun as him. Maybe take the spirit sword...
