Title: Hi everybody in the forest!

Xsathras - September 25, 2007 01:43 PM (GMT)
Hello!

I'm Xsathras, I come from Bilbao (Spain), I'm 24 and I've been reading the topics in this forum since last week, so it's time to go deep into the forest...

I'm sorry if my English is not the best it should be, but writing and reading you is the best way to improve it. So be patient with me! ;-)

I have a experience of 3 years with WFB, and my armies (until now) are Dark Elves and Khemri. Now I'm planning to build a 2k Wood Elves force, so I'll ask for your knowledge several times ;-) Meanwhile, I can tell you about those armies (tactics... I know you like it!! jajajaja)

In a few days I'll get some minis (I know their name in Spanish, so make me know if I'm saying wrong in English). My plan is convert and paint them the best I can:
  • 6 waywatchers
  • One noble with longbow
  • 30 dryads
  • 30 glade guard
  • 8 fast cavalry (glade riders, I think)
  • 6 wild riders
  • 10 wardancers

I think it's a pretty list to start with. I was thinking about building a force starting from a noble with the waywatcher kindred (I like that unit a lot, but I haven't played them yet, so I can't tell...), but reading your posts I'm now not sure about this...

So, finally here I am!

You are most welcome to the glade Xsathras. And I must say your english are awsome for a spanish person. I went to Spain two summers back and just walked into a GW in..... San Sebastian I think it was called. Anyhow noone could speak english there... we managed to communicate a bit... with a mix of french and pointing=P

For the list, its a nice startout. And Waywacthers are a very good choices, at least I think so. Try using dryades in units of 8, glade guards in units of 10 and glade riders in units of 6-8. I suggest you make the noble..... hmm either a normal noble on foot with some kit and send him with Wardancers. Or you could make him mounted and go with the Glade Riders... Also I suggest you try making one of the dryades into a Brachewraith(Dryad hero you know  ) It gives you magic and one more hero too.

Hope it help.

Welcome Xsathras

Your english seems very good, as everyone else has said.

Your model list seems pretty good as a start- I assume we'll see a proposed army list soon? Or will you just add models whenever you want?

Xsathras - September 26, 2007 07:11 AM (GMT)
Thank you friends!

Darkblade, I know the GW shop you talk about (that located at San Sebastian...), because I work at the same city! And yes, it's San Sebastian, you're right ;-)

Geep, I have an army list in mind, so as soon as I get the wood elves book (I think I'll get it today or tomorrow) I'll read it carefully and decide about all the options proposed there... I'll post a first attempt to my 2k army list asap.

"i knew i shouldn't have taken that 10 bottles of wine challenge"

ahhh.....welcome to the glade! don't mind about me i am a very skilled wood elf just today isn't agreeing with me (like yesterday and the day before and the....).

I would be happy to help you on your way to building a force of Asrai.

Your English is good and you got all the names correct so no worries.

I suggest getting some magic when you hit 1250+pts. Theres just too many players who love that phase of the game. Either defense or attack. I myself love to use treesinging to annoy my opponents battle line. It can be game winning.

See you around.

Well... that's a bit of an exaggaration.. my family has been Swedish for the last three centuries :p

I just happen to be a language freak with a special interest for uncommon and old languages

It's just incredible that you have learned Basque in Sweden...

Sincere congratulations, Nelyafinwë. You are the first foreigner I know that speaks Basque. If you want to have a little training, you know where to locate me! ;-)

I think learned is quite a strong word in this case.. let's say that I've tinkered a bit with it :p

It'd be interesting to know more though..

Welcome to the site Xsathras. You'll be moved to the waywatcher kindred when an administrator/ancient sees your request.

Good english by the way.
