Title: Warvault banner
Glim - May 12, 2007 12:22 PM (GMT)
When I click the warvault banner I get this strange message:
DB Error : Connection to Database angron12_warvaultnetfantasy Failed
Mysql Error : Access denied for user 'angron12_dmccraw'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
Mysql Error no # : 1045
Date : May 12, 2007, 2:20 pm
Does anyone know what this is?
Quercia dei Eternita - May 12, 2007 12:35 PM (GMT)
Well they're changing host, so that can be the problem - they're offline at the moment. :)
Glim - May 12, 2007 12:40 PM (GMT)
I had the samething Yesterday. It doesn't take that long to change Host,.. or does it?
Schmeag - May 12, 2007 01:48 PM (GMT)
Well, it's actually been off for about a week.

Yeah. All admins got an e-mail. I'm quite surprised Sycath didn't announce that.
Schmeag - May 12, 2007 02:59 PM (GMT)
In fact, I don't think I've seen anyone announce it on the sites I go to.
Silly Dragon Elf the Third - May 12, 2007 04:08 PM (GMT)
hey i first mentioned this... :p
But for a week you say? The other days i just got a normal error message about the internet is down or something. I figured it was just my comp but then that very message came up for me and i was like "wtf?" so i asked here (off topic).
Admins were e-mailed yet didn't post annoucements? oh well people make mistakes and we all know that highborn could not have as his computer is down.
Edit: Does anyone know when it'll be back up?
Highborn Sycath - May 12, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
For those who are interested, the email in question (I just saw it now- havent really been able to check my emails.)
As you may or may not have noticed, WV didn't move last week. There are two
One.com didn't initiate my transfer request until their internal email system
had bounced around my signed contract.
WV's nameserver is registered under Nicholas Acho, Acho Hosting's owner;
however, Nicholas Acho happens to work on the USS Kitty Hawk, and is, at times,
slightly busy. One.com required confirmation from Acho before we could move, but
as he hasn't responded to his emails by now, I assume we're going to miss that
May 1st cut off date.
So. WV's gonna go offline tonight, if all goes as planned, which is a damn
shame. I'm gonna take a full back up this evening of everything and find us a
practical host to get us up on. Yay.
We'll be back before the Nemesis Crown, no worries. But, for now, WV's out of
sorry bout the late announcement

I've just tried the warvault banner again, and it seems to be working again today - Warvault is back up!
The new scroll down menus at the top are annoying now... when you move your mouse over them they come down automatically, and done dissapear until you click on something , but that's a minor thing, at least it's working again! Hopefully it'll stay up.

I tried to vote today and got this message:
'You have already voted before. You can only vote once every rerank of topsite.'
Does anyone know what this is about? Seems you can only vote once every reranking.
Schmeag - June 4, 2007 11:12 AM (GMT)
What's a 'reranking'? How long does it take?
Highborn Sycath - June 4, 2007 07:33 PM (GMT)
Ill ask angron about it. It might perhaps mean like instead of once a day, you can only vote once every time the top site moves down a rank? that doesn't sound right though.
Glim - June 4, 2007 08:44 PM (GMT)
|that doesn't sound right though|
No, since we're always in the top 5, we can never vote again. :uhhhh:
Servant of Isha - June 5, 2007 08:05 AM (GMT)
That's if we get into the top 5 this time; sites with more players (even if they're not as regular/dedicated) will likely soar ahead under this system (i.e. if Asur.org and Druchii.net were ever to take it seriously, they'd be stuck at the top!)
