I think the new models look great (especially the dark reapers and wraithlord), and i've always loved playing eldar
i think i'm gonna build an army when it comes out

what do you guys think?

They definitely are good models- i like the war walkers and Autarchs (I think i got that name right).
I'll be happy as long as the new rules for them are better- it's pretty annoying to see eldar armies where a squad's purpose is to take casualties so that the attached weapon platfrom can shoot, or an over reliance on a seer council. Your average trooper should have an important job.

They're some mighty fine models. We still need some new harlequin figures, though :dry:.

The Autarchs look pretty cool, though their legs are all obviously the same. It'll be awesome to get a plastic wraithlord. Shame they won't do wraithguard like the Tau XV8s. But the new Dark Reapers are a real letdown. I much prefer the skulls on the old ones.

I agree -the new Reaper models look as if they have jellybeans for heads :sad:

Yeah, they'll be my income tax army this year. Right now thinking Autarch with a good amount of Dire Avengers and once I get the codex I'll figure out the rest :) But yeah, they've pulled me in :)

Trust me, the reapers looking like they have large foreheads is all an illusion, caused by the picture. In reality their foreheads are normal sized, just that their heads are leaning forward a bit, and the top of the head looks like its part of the fore head. They are in real life quite amazing.

well the rumours i've read about might dissapoint you then, some say that a platform will be required now and the minimum squad size for gaurdians is 10

The new scorpions look pretty cool, like they have dreadlocks or something. Oh and starcannons are only heavy 2 now!

I have a decent Ulthwe' force that I will be adding to. I like the new figs. I think they look great!

ok well i just got the new rangers that came out in the summer
i really like these models, i hope the rest of the range will look as cool as these do

Dunno, I just dont, something about it, it just seems like its not Eldar-y enough, or something...my friend has the same unexplainable feeling about it though

well, it does have an un-eldary pose to it, but i would gladly take it over the current avatar

I like the current Avatar, though it could look better, I dont think this FW one is very good, it is on par with the current one, I guess.

it could also be that its actually amazingly porportioned and your just used to large heads and hands?

I wouldn't mind getting it, because of the price.....usually FW things are much dearer.

the only thing holding me back is the fact that the avatar isn't really that great, i mean he is 80pts and is hardly as good as a dreadnought....but it would put the fear of god (teehee pun) in your opponents heart

The new Avatar is going to be significantly better than its current version though, I think we have some supposed rule for it floating around here somewhere.

the coolest i've heard of is the Fire Prism bank shot, i never use Fire Prism's but it's a great idea

I collect Eldar and have been for decades. I can honestly say that if a lot of the rumours are true I think i'll see my Eldar :sad:. Thats how mince the new rules are :<.

how are the new rules bad? they made all the bad units good and all the overly amazing units worse. Its called balance, and its a wonderful thing.

its only about twice the height of a dreadnaught. not that large.

I thought the models were a real let down when I first saw them. Being an Eldar only player I can say this. Crap models to go with crap rules, cruses upon games workshop (lol).

Sadly enough yes, yes they are they also make an apperance in the pc game dawn of war.

ofcourse they resurected them. They have an amazing backround and are a big part of the eldar fluff.

and how can you hate the new models... dont tell me you honestly prefered some of the old models....

The older ones were better but my Eldar army is made out of bases and green stuff :biggrin: (lol).

the older ones of what exactly. not the farseer, wraithlord, dire avengers, dark reapers, howling banshees, war walkers, fire dragons surely.

the scorpions are the only ones im iffy on.

Oh? I think the new Dark Reapers are kuāi pì huà. The old models looked far better. The Warp Spider conversions in AusWD #322 are awesome though.
