From the VIZ media site (distributor of titles such as Naruto) www.vizmedia.com (Press releases- 2008 Bookexpo)

'THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE OCARINA OF TIME • Rated “A” for All Ages • MSRP: $7.99 • Available October 7, 2008
Based on the best-selling adventure video games from Nintendo, THE LEGEND OF ZELDA manga are being made available for the first time in North America. The Legend of Zelda series details the adventures of Link as his destiny is revealed starting with the Ocarina of Time. Beloved by millions of fans around the world, readers will enjoy the additional details and in-depth explanation of game elements that are available nowhere else but in the manga.'

Wow... I didn't even know there was a LoZ manga! I'm gonna have to get this...

EDIT: According to the omniescent Wikipedia, manga titles have been made in Japan for all the subsquent LoZ titles (with the conspicuous exception of Twilight Princess). A Phantom Hourglass title is coming soon to Japan. It's safe to say that those subsquent titles will make their way to North America also.

I read that manga a while ago...

(Posted Image)

This is a short-lived parody of the series I was working on. I wasn't too impressed with myself though, as I don't even seem to have used any direction. It seems to go left-to-right and some points, and at others...right-to-left.

Anyway, I'm just posting this as an example of the manga.

Impressive... but what are Mulsims? :p

The dialogue does seem like it could go any number of ways...

LoZ manga?? OwO *eyes sparkle*

I'm definitely going to have to find a way to get my hands on them...I hope they do sell them nearby.

@bcdefg123: Gotta agree with you there...I kind of read it left to right at first (...habit). I got it the second time though. ^.^

Muslims...the people who believe in Islam? That's kind of it.

I can start one sometime around the end of July. I'll try my best to have it zelda-related, somehow.

You should make two contests: one that's fill-in-the-word-bubble, and the other is make a comic from scratch. That'd be sweet.

Like, completely draw a comic? Hmm...

Perhaps...

EDIT: The product page has been launched for the manga at Viz.com. Here

The second OoT volume will be released December 2nd. The product page is...

Here

Only 5 days until the first volume is released. I think I'll zip over to Borders and review it for here.

Well, it appears interesting enough to go out and buy. The first volume goes from the beginning to Adult Link facing himself in Kakariko Village for training purposes (no, don't quite remember that part...). The story moves at a fast clip, covering 5 dungeons in ten chapters (about 200 pages). That's not to say it's a bad thing, but it feels like it skips out on some of the details of the game, and sometimes meshes events together. The author also adds some backstory in (like Link actually being born in Kakariko), and it works out nicely with the rest of the story. There are jokes scattered around the story, especially with child Link, but the story overall is more serious.

Plusses:
Does a good job of sticking to the story
Adds some new stuff
TLoZ is a good match for the manga format
Decent art

Minuses:
Story feels rushed along
Some speech and pictures are a bit cut off at the book's binding

11/02/08 EDIT: The first Majora's Mask book is scheduled to hit in February.
