So, we bought a house. Just thought I'd share that. Then you'll understand why I can't buy a new rig when Chapters comes out in ten year's time. Still paying on the mortgage... wink.gif

Yes, still shaking. 2.9 million NOK is a lot of money. (€ 340500. US$ 502600)

Wow, that place looks NICE. I'll have to drop by next time I'm in Norway. smile.gif

I have to say though - while that is indeed a lot of money, housing prices are apparently far cheaper there than I would have thought based on how expensive everything else seemed to be when I was over there. For a place that nice here, you'd easily be paying twice that.

I think the conclusion I can draw from this, is that if I ever want to buy a house I should move to Norway. biggrin.gif

Though I may be moving there in a year or two anyway. I expect to be leaving here in a year or two, and I'm not sure where I'll be after that. smile.gif

Anyway, congratulations!

Thanks!

And you're welcome to drop by and borrow a bed for a while. Just let me know a little while in advance, so I can prepare the missus. wink.gif

And yes, it is nice. The house itself is built in '85, but the kitchen and both batrooms were redone in 2008. The rest of the house needs some attention, and especially the loft solution could be better (we may need to do a small rebuild there in a while), and a few boards on the outside need changing, but all in all we're happy with it. And there's even a bus line all the way to the city centre outside on the main road. We may not even need to buy a car... wink.gif (Which is good considering the budget we'll be on for a while.)

Is that where you keep your "guests"? tongue.gif

We finally sold the flat as well (NOK 1.55 mill, the house was NOK 2.9 mill), so now we're "safe". The only thing is we need to be out of the flat two weeks before we get the house... Hooray. Storage and friends' house, here we come. (Upside is their house is close to the new one, so we can get used to living in the area.)
