Welcome to Tales of Ildius!
The world of Ildius has been flourishing for the past decades. Kind kings rule the lands, and trade flourishes as good and kindness spreads out after the age of turmoil that was the Kagrik War. The world seems to be settling down into an era of peace.

But even in this grand time, evil still lurks. An evil group known as the Dark Ones, along with their counterpart guild known as the Legion, are building an army of orcs, goblins and trolls. They are planning to take over the world, and turn it into their vampiric feasting ground.

They will stop at nothing to get what they want. They will leave the land a barren wasteland full of death, misery, and flames. They will turn the elven race back to its suppressed earlier life. They will erase the existance of the treants, and rid the world of all hope of light. The Dark Ones are starting a war that will offset the balance and will become an age worse than any other in the history of Ildius.

But, even in this dreadful situation, there are those who rise to protect what is good. Specifically Kadaj the Knight Lord, heir to the throne of Ildius and leader of the Council. Another group that seeks to defend the world is the recently formed group known simply as 'The Odyssey, whose goal is more to wipe out the Dark Ones' counterpart, the Legion.

There are, of course, other groups standing up against this revolt. Emina the Night Mother with the Shadowriders... Kaya and the Monks of Kagren... the Elven Brigade of Elesthier... and the Dwarven Militia of Harthia. Soon the war is going to take on it's peak in brutality, and now is the time for you to find your place among the bloodshed, be you hero or villain.

After his adventure to Febranasay, Kaya went back to the church to find himself with a large pile of paperwork. The three important documents being about his trip to Giltham, a baptism, and how the church needed a considerable amount of money. Throwing out the fund-related document and ordering one of his most able priests to baptise the new monk, Kaya found only his 'peace' trip to Giltham left. Packing a few things for travel, finding a horse, and grabbing a map, he headed off, destined for the Hobbit village.

After a few days of traveling and camping, Kaya found himself on the outskirts of Giltham. Indentifying himself to the guards, he walked into the miniature town, Hobbits bowing on either side. The twon was humble enough, with only the necessities and a few backwood luxuries. Judging by the position of the Sun, Kaya still had quite a bit of time until his meeting. Maybe he could find someone he knows.

His black iron boots clanked on the dirt paved road. No warm welcome for Phoenix. The peaceful hobbits could sense the evil intent just radiating from him. He appeared calm enough. He didn't glare or anything. Merely observed. He actually appeared to be waiting for something.

He continued on his walk through the miniature town and stopped at a bar. The door came to his chest. He frowned.

'Stupid midgets and their tiny holes.'

He brushed it off and turned around to feel the sudden holy presence of a monk or priest. He frowned deeper as his quick eyes spotted Kaya. Would this natural haven become a battle field.

Kaya watched as a Gothic warrior entered the happy little town. His armor spelled 'evil' and he wore a frown that seemed forever imprinted on his face. The small Hobbits seemed to cower in fear of him, but if he planned to raise Hell, Kaya would bring him down. As the man turned to face him, the monk merely met him with a welcoming smile. Kaya frowned upon himself for his actions in Febrasany, and decided that he must stick to doctrine.

"Well, hello, warrior dressed in black. What business does someone such as yourself have in this humble town?", he asked, his tone cheerful and friendly. Most people would consider it a simple question, without any ill intent. There was no need to worry the little folk of this town.

Phoenix remained calm. He came on this mission for entertainment in his boredom, not to release stress. He would toy with the priest for a while. "Quite orthodox, holy man," he commented. "My business is just that, my business. And I'm not one to share. I do believe it is customary in these times to introduce yourself first and then proceed with some form of 'How are you', am I not correct?"

He bowed mockingly, his tongue was ever so sharp today.

Draegulith dropped Belerd down next to the small town of Giltham. The Rider knew exactly why as he slipped off the side to dismount.

"Another perfectly beautiful place..." he said softly, then his eyes turned cold. "... to poison and leave withering to dust." An evil grin came across his face, but then it turned down as he sensed another evil presence nearby- not one of the Dark Ones, to note.

He walked into the town, questioning (temporarily) it's possibilities of being left withering. Then he came upon two people who seemed a strangely adorned assassin and a monk. What a terrible combination, he thought, before coming to the conclusion that they were not working together but merely had the unfortunate coincidence of meeting here.

"Move," he said coldly as he approached them, frowning deeply. "I do not have time for questions." He placed a hand to the ground. The town's survival depended on if these two, or at least one of them, provided him with entertainment. He looked at the assassin. He seemed... different. He was evil, but not in a way like the Dark Ones. He might become an ally... some day. But it's not like Belerd cared anyway.

((Hope you don't mind my intrusion on an inactive topic.))

((By all means!))

"Then you have time to hear a statement," Phoenix spoke stoicly as he purposefully stepped in Belerd's way. The monk could wait. "I take orders from no one. Not even God himself."

'Human,' Phoenix realized as he saw the man from a closer view. 'Then he certainly must die.'

Faster than the blink of an eye, Phoenix unsheathed his sword and sliced at Belerd's head.

In as short of a time as Phoenix had made this movement, Belerd had somehow managed to step back several feet.

"How rude..." he said, brushing hair away from his eyes. "I didn't think it would come to this." He spread out his hands and in a flash of holy light two swords came to his hands. He thrusted outward and diagonally down to each of his sides. "I believe... you have just saved this town." In an instant he was off, his swords released from the grip of the soft earth and crossed, ready to slash outward at the assassin.

He jumped, spinning through the air until he was straight above the assassin, and twirled down, his swords crossed above his head and twirling down toward the assassin like a large drill. As he did this, the whole ground seemed to shake as Draegulith took his first mighty step into the town, beginning to slowly make his way toward his master and the two others near him.

The little hobbit town was in chaos. Hobbits running everywhere, screaming, the dragon's massive body crushing everything in its path, and two fairly good swordsmen dueling it out.

Phoenix liked to use as little words as possible, so he didn't speak as he leapt out of the way and swung his sword with such speed and force that it sent a wave of air to knock the spinning human over.

Belerd twisted his whole body around so he landed with a soft touch on the ground, but a little less than six paces from Phoenix. Draegulith was close enough to hear him now.

"This is getting interesting," Belerd said, in an amused tone. "Dragon! Take flight. I don't want this town destroyed. Not this day, anyway." The green dragon spread his wings and spiraled upward into the air, beginning to continuously circle the small town. Then Belerd did the same jump as before. But this time, his attack was different.

He acted again as a drill, but only putting one blade down toward the assassin. His other hand glowed as he threw aside the blade, and it began spiraling down at the assassin, slowly closing the gap as it went nearly too fast to be seen, always keeping a precise point aiming right at the assassin's upper body.

He has to defend against one or the other. Unless he is better than my Sight tells me, he will not get out of this with at least a minor wound. I have no doubt of his skill to survive this attack, though.

Phoenix frowned as he saw the human drill make its way towards him. 'He foolishly underestimates me,' he grumbled and held up a single palm to face Belerd.

"Shield, block all attacks!"

A dark green bubble enveloped Phoenix and Belerd's attack merely ricohetted off of him. The fallen angek took no time to hesitate, however. He brought his hand down and slowly raised it up above him.

"Devil's Hand! Grasp everything from my reach!"

The ground shook as a giant skeletal hand rose from the core of the Earth, and just as Phoenix clenched his hand, so did the sheletal one, around belerd and his Dragon. (That's how big it is.)
