Welcome to Tales of Ildius!
The world of Ildius has been flourishing for the past decades. Kind kings rule the lands, and trade flourishes as good and kindness spreads out after the age of turmoil that was the Kagrik War. The world seems to be settling down into an era of peace.

But even in this grand time, evil still lurks. An evil group known as the Dark Ones, along with their counterpart guild known as the Legion, are building an army of orcs, goblins and trolls. They are planning to take over the world, and turn it into their vampiric feasting ground.

They will stop at nothing to get what they want. They will leave the land a barren wasteland full of death, misery, and flames. They will turn the elven race back to its suppressed earlier life. They will erase the existance of the treants, and rid the world of all hope of light. The Dark Ones are starting a war that will offset the balance and will become an age worse than any other in the history of Ildius.

But, even in this dreadful situation, there are those who rise to protect what is good. Specifically Kadaj the Knight Lord, heir to the throne of Ildius and leader of the Council. Another group that seeks to defend the world is the recently formed group known simply as 'The Odyssey, whose goal is more to wipe out the Dark Ones' counterpart, the Legion.

There are, of course, other groups standing up against this revolt. Emina the Night Mother with the Shadowriders... Kaya and the Monks of Kagren... the Elven Brigade of Elesthier... and the Dwarven Militia of Harthia. Soon the war is going to take on it's peak in brutality, and now is the time for you to find your place among the bloodshed, be you hero or villain.

((So it's as large as a whole town? O_O))

Belerd wasted no time. Actually, he did. He just rested inside the skeletal hand and grinned, facing his dragon.

"Is this all?" he asked. Draegulith gave him a puzzled look.

Fortunately for Belerd and possibly unknown to the fallen angel, considering the skeletal hand extended over the whole town (causing more destruction than Belerd had hoped), it was impossible to not leave large gaps- gaps big enough for the two of them to slip easily through.

Belerd slipped out first, followed by Draegulith, a green blur of a line speeding down below his Rider and picking him up. He wasted no time as Belerd summoned his blades to spin, sending the human drill (now going so fast it was very thin) speeding at the fallen angel twice as fast as the other two times.

'Humans are so predictable,' Phoenix yawned mentally, expecting Belerd to fit through the large gaps. Before the drill reached him, he said, "Shrowd of Sins! Show us our pentinance!"

A black gust bellowed forth from the inner palm of the Devil's Hand, and cloaked the destroyed town in darkness. Despite its putrid look and acrid odor, the gas was not harmful, physically, however it could be considered poisonous. The gas contained a certain chemical which traveled through the nostrils and attacked one's brain, surfacing all of their memories and reveals to them their 'sins'.

To escape his own attack, Phoenix flapped his black wings and flew above the smog and rested on the fore finger of the Devil's Hand, waiting to see if his prey managed to make it out completely sane.

Belerd was confused for a few moments by the smog which he had landed in. He looked around, not able to see a foot away from him. Then he waved his hand in front of his face and decided he didn't like this smog.

Draegulith, he called in his mind. It was seconds before the green dragon flapped away the thick smog and Belerd located Phoenix.

"Doesn't seem like the drill attacks are working," Belerd said to himself. "I understand that I DID underestimate this one." He jumped and grabbed his dragon's leg as it flew him up, throwing him to the center of the giant hand's palm. He summoned his swords, which had dropped, to his hands and looked up at Phoenix, then around at the town that had been destroyed.

"You know, you've caused me trouble." He said, almost as if they were not battling. "I wanted either entertainment OR destroying the town. Now you've done the second for me, and both are done in the end." His face turned to a frown as he changed styles and did a few complex twirls with his blades and readied to charge. "This displeases me."

As he was making these movements, Draegulith has slithered from the hand and to the bottom of it. As his Rider charged and jumped, making a hurricane-like attack toward the fallen angel, the dragon sped above it and let out a large cloud of poisonous gas.

((Considering that Belerd is the spawn of Kadaj, and has no memories to call his own (and that Kadaj never sinned) the smog does not effect him.))

((Darn. And I tried so hard. tongue.gif))

Phoenix hesitated for a second befoe he twirled his sword to create a mini cyclone to blow the poisonous gas away. 'Nearly forgot,' he noted in his mind. 'I no longer have my celestial body and am now a mortal. I must take greater care of this body.'

Phoenix hovered in the air, his black wings flapping lazily. 'It's been a while since I've met a homosepian that can pose a challenge. I might even get a chance to try ut my new technique I've been musing on lately.' He scrutinized the human for a second and then looked over the dragon. Maybe he should change targets.

Phoenix dived forth, his sword's point amining straight for the dragon's eye.

Belerd, having missed in his attack in some way, rebounded from the giant skeletal hand and quickly deflected the attack aimed at his dragon. The dragon, afterward, slithered quickly along the huge hand and into the poison smog. Being a poison dragon, he began to suck it all in.

With that done, Belerd thought, he quickly glowed a quick white and changed direction of jump in mid-air, sending himself hurtling toward the fallen angel (who was now going back toward the hand, being that his attack was deflected) and put himself so that he held his left sword straight out, and his right arm crossed over his left and that sword was back a little from the other.

Phoenix admitted he was surprised to find his attack deflected and that the human was attacking him in a matter of seconds. He just barely managed to dodge it, nipping a bit of his coal wings, luminescent blood raining on the desomated town.

'I'm losing my touch,' Phoenix punished himself. 'However, this makes things a little easier.'

The assassin lord plucked off a handful of feathers and and blew them into the air. The black feathers swirled and swirled until they created 14 or so little black demons who immeadiatly attacked Belerd.

Meanwhile, Phoenix landed in the palm of the skeletal hand which closed around Phoenix. (And even though its big, it closed tight so there was no escaping or entering.) While inside the bony essence, Phoenix dipped his fingers into his wound a drew an elebaorate summoning circle on the marrow. He put his hands together and began a long and rigorous chant.

"Unexpected," Belerd said to himself, "but no trouble." He quickly twisted in midair, swords outstretched, as two of Phoenix's little black demons flashed black and turned into black feathers, the swords running through them with ease. ((I'm guessing this is what happens.))

Meanwhile, below, Draegulith had finished sucking up the smog. Unfortunately, he was mysteriously ambushed by five small black creatures. The dragon was forced to let go of the smog. He whipped his tail, fluffing the demon hanging to his back to feathers, and stomped out another. He roared at the last three- one on his head, one biting the tip of his tail, and the last trying to claw his leg.

Belerd landed softly on top of the skeletal hand. He tried to peer in but there was no way of seeing inside. All he knew was that he sensed something evil.

"You know, I really see no point in fighting. I mean, we both might actually have common goals." This is what Belerd said, hoping it would pierce through the bone. Seven of the small black demons surrounded him. "More of you demons? This is a nuisance."

Phoenix heard Belerd's muffled words, but ignored them. They would only break his concentration. He continued with the incantation. He was over half-way done by now. However, his demons were dwindling fast and Belerd wouldn't waste time in stopping Phoenix. He had to hurry.

The demons surrounding Belerd disappeared in seconds. His blades fell to the ground and disappeared. The young half-man sighed and looked down at the skeletal hand.

Below, Draegulith whipped his head from side to side. He smacked the ground with his tail, sending one demon flying. He smashed the crest of his head against the skeletal arm, crushing another demon. He blew poisonous gas at the demon clawing his leg, but found it ineffective. He smacked it with his tail and it dissipated.

The dragon quickly turned out the third, letting out a sharp roar. Wings flapping, he jumped into the air. He formed a wind that drew the demon up and toward him, where he ripped it to feathers. The dragon landed and began sucking in the smog again.

Belerd laid on the skeletal hand. He placed two fingers on its surface and examined the tiny spaces. I can't get through, and neither can Draegulith, he though, but a blast of smog sure can. When his concentration is loosened, so will the hand, and then I can squeeze in.

((You haven't replied in so long, I almost forgot what my clever plan was.))

It didn't matter. Phoenix had already completed his incantation. The bony hand slowly unclenched its fingers as a red cloud blasted through the widening openings. This crimson smog bent its direction to collide with Belerd and his dragon. A closer look revealed that it was actually a swarm of red butterflies, ebbing away at their very flesh. Phoenix remained in the bloody encantation circle which continuously released a constant flow of this red essence.

"The Lepidoptera Kovices," Phoenix spoke amongst the flapping butterflies. "Nicknamed Satan's Wings because of their strongly acidic saliva that dissolves anything on contact, even metal. Although the saliva is in microscopic amounts if you were faced with such massive quantities as this, your skin will quickly melt away. Although the Satan's Wings are carnivorous, they only want your blood. You could be surprisied how much nutrients you carry in that plasma.

"Even if you were to kill the swarm in front of your face, there is an endless supply of these marvelous creatures. From where they reside, not even I know. Possibly another world? No matter. I summon these creatures with a small blood sacrifice. However, that was only enough to feed a handful of them. And there is infinitely more. Your death is emminent."

Phoenix allowed a devilish smile before the swarm of butterflies blocked Belerd's view.
