I should probably wirte some stuff down and this is a better place than most.
First, an exercise in geometrics. Imagine a line drawn between two points. These points are called everything and nothing. The line is what is to be found between them, ranging from everything to nothing. Next, imagine that it was not a line but a square, but viewed exactly at the level the squareness seems to disappear, and it is turned now so that the square can be seen. One side of the square is everything-nothing; the other could be, for example, existence-inexistence. Now, each point in the square has relative amount of existence and nothingness. Now we have a square. But, surprisingly, it is turned to reveal it really is a cube (don't complain about the linear nature in the beginning). The third side could be void-matter, for example. Next, the cube is rotated so that the 4th dimension comes to sight. And another parameter is inserted on it. Life, for example. Continue ad infinitum, till all qualities are included. Now, each and every quality a world can have has it's own axis. We can have worlds with no gravity, entirely purple worlds, one with no sight or light or darkness, whatever. And every world has a location, in relation to each other. To further confuse matters, every world can be divided at arbitrary place, creating two worlds, or combined, reducing the number of worlds. So, we have an ainfinite amount of qualities, an infinite amount of worlds, an infinite way of dividing and classifying these worlds... It is not quite that simple. When anything changes in a world, the world's "location" also changes. Yes, there is a prameter for holding your hand at the mouse or reading this or not reading this or whatever. Everything (and nothing) has a parameter. That's the basics. -------------------- |

Paradoxes
In some of the stranger settings, paradoxes abound. Places were all the humans of all settings were killed. And humans still abound. And place were all humans of every setting are currently killed, or are killed at exactly that moment, as time is only the motion of a setting through the infinite possibilities. That place could have aportal to any settign where humans are well and alive, at the samte time as they all die in another setting. All the humans of every place. For this reason, it is probably a good idea to keep play in settings where basic rules of logic work somewhat normally, lest Cthulhu devour the meek minds of those who dare wonder beyond what they can understand. -------------------- |
