CHAPTER 1
The Impala pulled into the gravel lot and screetched to a halt. Dean looked at the row of tents stretched out in front of him and scowled.
"Are you sure this is the right place?" he asked glancing over at Sam.
Looking down at the newspaper article, Sam nodded" Yeah, this is it. Doesn't look much like a headquarters but what did you expect way out here?"
Getting out of the car, Dean pulled his jacket tighter around him. The frigid cold air was biting out in the open with no cover up. He shrugged "Not a bunch of tents , that's for sure."
Sam got out and looked around at the different size tents in front of them. "Well, I'm betting the large one is where we'll find Dr. Markingham , and we don't want to be late , so lets go."
Dean just grunted and followed Sam into the large tent. "Hope they have heat." he muttered.
Looking around, they saw the tent had been equiped with the best state of the art survailence equipment and had computers and maps on almost every table.
A man in his sixtys walked over "You must be Dean and Sam Wilcox, we're happy you could join our team."
Shaking his hand, Sam smiled "We're glad to be here Dr. Markingham. Has there been any word on the other group?"
Shaking his head sadly the doctor waved them over to a table against the back of the tent.
"No, and frankly I'm getting worried. It's been three days sense the last contact with Murphy."
Sitting down, Dean glanced at his brother. Facing the doctor again, he watched the play of emotions that crossed his face.
"So what time is everyone leaving in the morning?" Dean asked.
Picking up a map, Dr. Markingham replyed "The group is meeting at seven to get the equipment, it will be about an hours drive to the site."
Showing the area of the site on the map, Dean listened carefully as the doctor relayed the last information that Murphy had given them before losing contact.
Sam stared at the red mark on the map, and suddenly felt dizzy, his head started to ache.
Rubbing his temple,he glanced over at Dean, "Hey Dean, I need to get some of our equipment out of the car, I'll meet you out there."
"Yeah, I'll be out in a sec Sam."
Sam nodded to Dr. Markingham and made a haisty retreat out of the tent.
Trying to focus where he was going, he got as far as the car before the blinding pain ripped through his skull.
Dropping to his knees, Sam bent over clutching his head "Oh God!" he groaned.
FLASH; Darkness surrounded him. He could barely see and the dim light he was holding in his hand was proving to not assist in his current situation very well.
Sam watched as the man screamed. The horrifying creature ripped off long strips of flesh eating and sucking on them.
The bloodied muscle flesh smacked loudly as the creature devoured it.
Staring at the creature, Sam saw sharp horns at the sides of its head, and red markings on its chest.
The claws of the monster were ripping bits and chunks out of the victims skin. The man's ear piercing screams had ceased, as he lay there surrenduring to his gruesome fate.
The creature grabbed the victim's arm and ruthlessly ripped it off. The monster messily chewed on the arm like a rabid dog would if given a turkey leg.
Dean walked outside, the cold carried thru the wind mercelessly, and he searched around for Sam. Walking closer to his car, he heard a moan.
He quickly ran over to the other side of the car, and immediatly spotted his brother.
Sam was laying on the ground, his hands gripping the sides of his head firmly, he was in pain.
