Welcome to Heroes and Villains!
New York City is up for grabs. The villains want to take over and rule the city with their superhuman powers. Only the heroes stand in the way, and it's up this group of well-meaning citizens to save New York. But there's another threat lurking in the city: Sylar. He kills people to collect their abilities, and he wants to be the last one standing. We will be using the
Standard Rules for this game, with a few changes outlined below.
PM Rules:
Noah may PM players he has tracked and they may respond. Otherwise, pro-town players and Sylar cannot send PMs. The antis may PM freely among their group of villains.
Win Conditions:
Heroes - eliminate all the villains and Sylar
Villains - have equal numbers of heroes and villains AND kill Sylar
Sylar - be the last one standing
Voting:
Players
do not have to reach a majority vote by the end of the day phase to lynch a player, BUT the majority of players must have placed their votes in order to eliminate the player with the most votes.
Please remember:You must bold your vote AND place it on a separate line so I can easily see it. Vote like this:
Vote: YodaIf you want to change your vote, do it like this:
Unvote: Yoda
Vote: StarkillerThis is how you bold text:
You may contact me via PM at any point in the game and I will respond as soon as possible.
I made a few changes to the roles, so please read carefully. The biggest change is...surprise!
Everyone has a special role. Some of them are automatic, and some of them are used via PMs. I mixed my ideas with
the Heroes game on Game Winners. (Thank you, Syriani, for the link.)
All roles were assigned randomly. Roles will be revealed when the player dies.
RolesHeroes (pro-town) Angela Petrelli - psychic
Angela, with her ability to see into the future, has a dream every night about a player (of her choice) and finds out if that player is pro-town or anti-town. If she investigates Sylar, she will receive a randomized answer (pro-town or anti-town).
Hiro Nakamura - doctor
With his ability to stop time and teleport, Hiro can choose one player to protect each cycle (day-night). The person he selects cannot lynched, killed, blocked, or captured. He can protect a player more than once, but Hiro cannot protect himself.
Peter Petrelli - power imitation
Peter can copy and use the ability of anyone he comes into contact with. If anyone quotes Peter during the day, Peter gains that person’s ability. If anyone uses his/her ability on Peter, Peter will be able to use that ability as well. Peter can use one ability at a time by PMing the game mod.
Claire Bennet - bulletproof
Claire can survive one hit (lynch or night kill) but will die if she is hit a second time. Sylar, however, can kill her in one attempt.
Noah Bennet - tracker/PM
Years of experience with the Company have given Noah excellent tracking skills. He can follow one person every night. He won't be able to determine the person's ability or if it is used, but he will know if that player visits someone or if anyone visits the player he chooses to follow. Noah may PM players he has tracked. Noah’s ability is not superhuman, so he cannot be blocked.
Nathan Petrelli - mayor
Senator Nathan Petrelli is the most influential person in New York City. His vote counts for two votes and he can break ties for the lynch vote.
Nikki/Jessica Sanders - modified vigilante
Nikki struggles to be a good person and is pro-town overall, but sometimes she ends up hurting people. If anyone tries to hurt Nikki at night, Jessica’s personality will take over and have a 50% chance of killing her attacker. She can by lynched normally.
Mohinder Suresh - scientist
Mohinder wants to have a special ability, so he experiments on himself. Each night, he takes a serum. Chosen randomly, Mohinder's experiments can result in protection, invisibility, precognition, super strength, or nothing. He can use each serum once.
Matt Parkman - lie detector
Each night Matt can look into a person’s mind and find out if he/she lied or told the truth about something posted during the day.
Samson Gray - role blocker
Samson Gray can put any player to sleep by pointing his finger. The player he chooses will not be able to use his/her ability for one full cycle (one day phase and one night phase). He cannot block the same player two times in a row.
Bridget Bailey - historian
Bridget Bailey can see the history of any object she touches. Each night, she can investigate the past actions of any player (dead or alive), but she will not know the player’s specific role.
Villains (anti-town)Each night, the villains vote to kill or capture a player.
Mr. Linderman
Mr. Linderman is a villain but he seems to be a nice, charitable guy. If Angela investigates him, Mr. Linderman will appear to be pro-town. He can’t fool Noah, though.
The Haitian - role blocker
The Haitian can visit one person each night and block his/her abilities. The Haitian will not be told the player’s role. He cannot block the same player two nights in a row. The Haitian cannot block Noah since Noah's tracking ability is not superhuman.
The Puppeteer
The Puppeteer can control one player for a full cycle (one day phase and one night phase). During the day, he can tell the player who to vote for. At night, he can use the player’s ability to benefit the villains. A player under the Puppeteer’s control can try to resist, but if the player does not do as the Puppeteer orders or if he reveals that he is under the Puppeteer’s influence, the Puppeteer will kill the player on the next night. The Puppeteer can control each player only once, and he cannot order players to kill themselves (either by voting for themselves or using their abilities). Controlling a player forfeits the night kill for the villains.
Adam Munroe - regenerator
Adam can regenerate his cells and because of his special ability he looks young even though he’s been alive for centuries. Adam can die via lynching but night attacks will not affect him. Also, if his power is ever stopped or blocked, his body will break down and he will die.
IndependentSylar
Sylar craves power, and nothing can satisfy his thirst. He has the ability to see how things work, and he has discovered that he can learn special abilities by killing people who have them. He can be lynched during the day, but at night, Sylar walks in the shadows. In fact, no one will be able to find or kill him on Night 1. (Starting Night 2, he can be killed.) Sylar has the option of hunting down a person, killing him/her, and learning his/her ability each night OR using a previously learned ability instead of killing someone.
Other:
The Company (the game mod)
Mainstream New York City isn’t ready to find out about these people with extraordinary powers, so the Company sends out agents every night to capture someone who is involved in the power struggle. There is a 50% chance that the Company will send out their agents each night, and then a random selection of will decide which non-vote the agents neutralize (as in, take the player’s ability away and return him/her to the city). The Company cannot be affected by anyone's abilities.
