Where to Post

Okay, so you have something you want to post, but you’re not sure which forum it belongs in.
There are forums and sub-forums and sometime it can be confusing trying to figure out where to post a thread. Here are a few examples to help you out.

Example 1.

New non-spoilery interview with Jensen - It belongs in the Jensen forum which is a sub-forum of the Actors and Staff forum. Why? Because it is Jensen related and things that are Jensen related belong in his forum. Things related to a specific actor or character belong in the forum for that actor or character.

Example 2.

An article about a new show produced by Eric Kripke - It belongs in the Behind the Scenes forum which is a sub-forum of the actors and staff forum. Why? Because the Behind the Scenes forum is the place for information related to the producers, writers, and directors. In other words, those who work behind the scenes on Supernatural.

Example 3.

TV Guide poll for best TV show - It belongs in the Awards, Voting and Petition forum which is a sub-forum of the General Discussion forum. Why? Because the Awards, Voting and Petition is where you post announcements about awards Supernatural, Jensen, and Jared are up for, any voting that's going on, and any petitions going on.

Example 4.

An article containing spoilers for Season 7 - It belongs in the Spoilery Articles and Interviews forum which is a sub-forum of the Spoiler forum. Why? Because threads containing spoilers belong in the spoiler forum.

Example 5.

A new photo of Jared from a charity event - It belongs in the Pada-lickin' Good thread in the Jared forum which is a sub-forum of the Actors and Staff forum. Why? Because it is Jared related, it belongs in his forum. Why post in an existing thread instead of making a new thread for it? The Pada-lickin' Good thread is the thread for pictures of Jared. It helps cut down on board clutter if we keep the pictures in one thread instead of making a new thread for each picture that comes out. There are also picture threads for Jensen and Misha in their forums.

Example 6.

A link to a new Dr. Who forum - It belongs in the Links forum which is a sub-forum of the Off-Topic Discussion forum. Why? The links forum is the place post all links to other sites that you want to advertise. There are also threads in there to post links to your twitter account, your LiveJournal and/or Myspace account.

Example 7.

A video interview with both Jared and Jensen - It belongs in the Actors and Staff forum. Why? Since the vid features both actors in it, instead of putting it in the Jensen forum or the Jared forum, it belongs in the Actors and Staff forum because it contains both actors in it.

Things to Note

Spoilers - Spoilers belong only in the spoiler forum and the designated spoiler threads located in the character forums. While there are a lot of members who enjoy reading spoilers, there are also members who do not want to read spoilers. Keeping spoilers to designated areas allows members, who like spoilers, to read them while helping spoiler-free members to avoid them. Also, please do not put spoilers in the title of threads. Thread titles show up on the main page and they show up when you click on view new posts.

Duplicate posts - Before you post that new spoiler, interview, article, poll, etc. take a moment to check the forums and see if someone else has already posted what you want to post. News travels fast in the Supernatural fandom and there’s a chance that new spoiler you want to post has already been posted. Taking moment to check first reduces the number of duplicate threads. Also, please do not post two threads on the same topic. If you have video of Jared and Jensen then post it in the Actors and Staff forum rather than posting a thread in the Jensen forum and a thread in the Jared forum.

Help Desk vs. Ask Advice

Need to know the name of a song played in an episode, then post your question in the Help Desk. Want friendship advice then post in the Ask Advice forum.

If you are still not sure where something goes, you can always PM a mod or admin and ask where to post your thread.
