When Bobby read the spell there were some things leaving Castiel and he got healed too. He's not God but a mutated angel so God healed him right? Ok it would have been the end of season 7 if God made the bad things leave immediately lol but I am slightly confused about what the spell was meant to do then because it didn't work very well? And was it really Castiel asking Sam and Dean for help to begin with? Or the Leviathans (spelling?) wanting a talk with the boys?

The spell was to open the portal to Purgatory so Cas could release all those nasty souls. The were all sent back to Purgatory...all except the Leviathans who are more powerful.
Interesting idea about whether it was Cas who came to the Winchesters for help or the Leviathans plotting their take-over. We assume it was Cas and we assume it was Cas who asked forgiveness and thanked them for helping him.
In the end, the Leviathans were more powerful and are in possession of Cas' body.
I'm hoping Cas is still alive, trapped in his own meatsuit and like Sam before in Lucifer, will be able to overcome their control and survive.
It certainly gives Misha something substantial to act and so far he is mesmerizing.

So maybe we can talk about this then. I find it hard to believe Castiel had enough power to control the Leviathans while waiting and talking to Dean etc.

I am going to believe it was Cas asking for help, actually you can see his face after the massacre at the politicians office, realizing what he did, he was afraid.
Also at the end, it was Cas who said he was sorry, he was there for a minute before the Leviathan’s took over and apparently kill him, so sad.
I guess it was also the Leviathan’s that healed Cas, probably with all the souls with them in the same body they didn’t have enough power to heal their vessel, but when they were there just with Cas, that was a different story.

That sounds logical. I'm still not sure about the rest though because Castiel has no control over the monsters.

Well, the monsters could have been driving, but let cas (or pretended to let cas) take the wheel for a little bit...plus, he did drag sam from the cage which is supposed to be impossible...

Yes, and then they "jumped" him and took over. I loved Misha's acting! Brilliant! I'll miss him as a regular.

it was definitely Cas who talked to the brothers, when he felt the Leviathans take over, he told them to RUN, he would have them stick around if he was the Levi all along As far as an angel being strong enough to handle Levi...well he was for a short period of time and we could talk about how is that possible but then again...is the same as Sam being able to take over Lucifer for enough time to jump to the pit.

We need to remember though that that body Cas uses belongs to Jimmy. My husband and I think "poor Jimmy" all the time these days. Cas has exploded, been shot, stabbed, and all manner of hurtfulness to the body. You sort of feel bad for Jimmy.
Now, Jimmy is possessed by Cas, who is now possessed by a legion of Leviathans.

I still laugh and say "Poor Jimmy"
I hope everything will turn our alright.
I doubt Jimmy feels anything, if I recall correctly Jimmy died when Cas took his daughter as a vessel. So is really only a meat suit, no one inside, well no one human.

Jimmy was shot, but still alive. If I recall he begged Castiel to take him (his body) instead of his daughter. I've always assumed that when Cas took the trenchcoated body back again, he healed Jimmy along with it.

About Jimmy, it was stated back in Season 5 by Cas, that when he became human after losing his angelic status, that the doctors said he was braindead when they found him on the fishing boat. I would take this to mean that Jimm is, in fact, dead and gone.
However, it is still possible Jimmy is still in his own body, but, this could just be because of Castiel's presence tethering him to it, but unable to physically function. Maybe.
