Is Sam Still Sam?, Sam

I dont think Lucifer is still in Sam's body because the apocalypse storyline is over so Sam is still Sam but of course we have to wait in the upcoming episodes on what happen to him & tell Dean what happen since that was the same situation that Dean was when he came back he didnt really wanna tell Sam when he was in hell.

I have that feeling too back in the S5 finale when Sam came back & suddenly the lights flickered so does this mean is Sam has become more powerful & maybe another secret that we have to found out soon. When Dean hugged Sam, you can see the eyes in Sam that he might be hiding something like that might be not be Sam but I think he has changed so this is a different side of him & hope he won't be evil .

I think Sam was very much him, but not in the ussual way, more like Mystery Spot way, he said he remembers Hell but doesn't want to talk about it, he's very cold and completly shut down, he was cool to Dean but you can tell he's pretty much emotionless, which makes sense because while Dean falls appart at the burden of a bad memory or loss, Sam turns into a machine, OCD (which explains why he wants his own car, fixed his OWN way) and shuts down from feeling anything, his attitude just made sense to me, I'm interested in how is gonna play into the whole relationship when they have no choice but to start hunting together, if Sam will keep closing himself or something will make him explode, cuz lets face it, I know some people that do that, shut down, but something snaps, one way or another.

Definitely Sam is Sam, but who knows what exactly happened to him in hell. When Dean came back he really tried to find out even though Dean didn’t want to talk about it, now Dean the only person who would really understand yet Sam is not talking. Something big happened to him down there that turned him into a different person, something or someone turned him into a cold version of himself, would be interesting to know what happened and who did he saw.

Well Sam did mentioned he was caged with 2 Acrhangels...

I think that Sam finding himself in a field while it's raining happened at least a week, maybe two, before we saw him standing under a flickering streetlight outside Dean and Lisa's house.

I think Sam really is Sam and I don't think he's gone evil either. I just think he's not dealing with what happened to him by shutting himself off and focusing on hunting. He's focusing on what he can do now and doesn't appear to be worrying about why he's back.

So, Yes I think he's Sam, just affected by what happened to him.

To me, Sam is not himself.... whether he is a spirit or something sinister, or whether he is emotionally shut down due to his experience in hell, I'm not sure. All I keep thinking of is the tagline for this season "Trust no one", and the popular "nothing is what it seems".
I don't recall seeing the part where Sam is standing under the flickering street light in "exile in main street" (and I watched it 3 times), I only saw it in the previews for this season and at the end of last season's finale... so I'd be interested to see how that fits in with this season. And why did the street light flicker? Hmmmm......

That very moment in Swan Song - when the light flickers as lights tend to do when ANGELS PASS BY made me think maybe it was MICHAEL who grabbed Sam tight and raised him from Perdition, and is even now parading around in Sam's meatsuit.

I originally thought Sam might have had part of his humanity burned away based on what Ruby said about how after centuries in hell, that's what happens to souls. We don't know how long Sam was in hell in terms of his experience with Lucifer int he cage, but for all we know it could have been an eternity.

Now I am leaning more towards Sam is 100% Sam but much more the damaged, post war soldier. Hurt Locker Sam. That would allow show to explore real life tcontemporary themes, despite it being the SN context, allow Sam his fallout from what happened, which we need to have, and avoid the redundancy of did Sam come back 100% Sam?

I agree with you. I also think that Sam is 100% Sam. Only different, after his experience in hell. I'm also a bit tired of the story "is Sam evil"? I like to see Jared personify an evil Sam, but that story i hope to be left out, for now. I would prefer to see Jared perform a broken and lost Sam. After all, Sam was in hell with two archangels and in the "cage" itself, so it wasn't pleasant, at all.

I also considered that a little bit weird, because i thought they would set off from Swan Song last scene, but oh well I hope to see this in the next episodes

"Are you sure that Sam is still 100% Sam?" It has been one year when Lucy where locked again. Still, do you remember the cliff hanger at the end of the series 5. The light flickers and then we see Sam. Those lights usually flickers when some supernatural creature is near it example Anna always broke the lights..

Also the quote "I already have my car the way I want it" is very big bitch slap against Dean.. I'm sure that Lucy is still in Sam!

As for Sam saying no to the car, there are a lot of interpretations around that. But Show has said, Lucifer is gone. They're done with that part of the story.

Well true.. I just love to speculate things . Still Sam has grown apart from Dean and he is more independent than ever, maybe now he isn't the little Sammy anymore. Remember the "iPod jack" or whatever Dean is very old school about things and Sam is more modern. BTW I love the Dodge, but Impala is THE car in the show, more suitable for a hunter, isn't it?

Yap, Lucifer storyline ended last year. Thank God for that. I would hate to see Sam as Lucifer or with Lucifer features or something like that
