Lost within,
Torn and tarnished by the memories,
Pushed aside and hidden beneath a mask.

Given a name,
Given a place,
Given a lie.

The boy locks it all inside,
Letting his shadow self suffocate,
Wither away and die.

All alone it spends hours in quiet torment,
The shadow never allowed to be free,
Split in half had a mighty fee.

Breaking the chains,
The shadow takes over,
A place to reside.

One life ends, another begins,
It marks the beginning of the end,
A new life.

The name restored,
The boy no longer scorned,
He's found who he is.

Half afraid of turning the page,
The boy begins to question,
What's his fate?

The future unknown,
Only one thing is known,
The shadow self has taken over the reigns.
