Season 3 for me. Just the sound alone of Dean screaming for Sam is something that almost breaks me every single time. I honestly couldn't even imagine what they were going to do after I saw that.
And a close second would be Season 4. The white, laser light of Lucifer and Sam's iconic "He's coming," was just incredible for me.

Season 1: Nothing beats the truck smashing into the Impala.
Season 3: Dean in hell. Never thought that Kripke would show hell after all the interviews where he said it was too expensive.
Season 2: I loved the mirroring of the pilot. It was a wonderful open ending which would have worked awesome as series finale as well.
Season 4: weak. We knew Lucifer would rice and we know that angels were light, so it wasn't very shocking or surprising how the season ended.

Season 3, just because it was right after I started watching. Dean, who at the time was my absolute favorite character and still is, screaming for Sam made me so sad because they were the only family they had, but at the same time I was like "He's an important character, why would they do this if they want the show to go on?"

Season 4 is my second choice. I was just so curious to see how they were going to show Lucifer but I knew they wouldn't. I liked the episode overall too; Dean goes to save Sam and the two of them finally kill Ruby, which made me very happy.
