These rules are modified from the Mafia forum rules in the xkcd forums.

1. You may not post about Wolf games in other forums. You may PM players in your game in accordance with the game mod's rules, but you may not discuss the game in other threads, via IM or e-mail.

Please keep in mind that Wolf should be played in the game thread, so please do not focus a lot of your time and attention to playing in PMs. If the game mod notices that thread activity is down because players are playing in PMs, he/she may take away PM use in the game. You may contact the game mod via PM at any time.

You may not discuss the game with non-players.

2. Please stay on topic.

3. You MAY NOT edit any of your posts in the game thread. Post editing has been disabled for players in the Wolf forum, so if you make a mistake, even just a typo you want to fix, you MUST post again to correct yourself. Simply post again and include EBWOP (Edit By Way Of Post) at the beginning. This prevents players from changing information in existing posts (aka cheating). For this reason, you MAY make consecutive posts in game threads.

4. Do not lurk through the whole game. When you sign up for a game, you're expected to be able to play. If you'll be absent for a few days or need to drop out, tell the game mod. The game mod will post in the game thread to excuse your absence. If you do not notify the game mod of your absence, the players may decide to eliminate you for your inactivity and if you're gone long enough (excused or not), the game mod will eliminate you.

5. Players MAY NOT post in the thread during the night phase.

6. You MAY NOT directly quote any game-related PMs, especially from the game mod. Paraphrasing is fine.

7. If you are eliminated from the game, please do not post anything in the game thread or discuss the game with anyone. You will receive a PM from the game mod notifying you of your elimination. The game mod will PM all the players after the game is finished, and then you may rejoin the game discussion.

8. What happens in Wolf, stays in Wolf. You may deceive each other, and you can out right lie about whatever you want in the game thread or in game-related PMs. That's part of playing. Please don't take it personally. It should all be in fun.

9. Please DO NOT post in the game threads if you are not playing. There are off-topic threads posted to go along with games, and anyone may post in those. Any posts in game threads from non-players, though, will be deleted by the game mod.

10. Do not break the game. Players may not use any unfair methods to gain knowledge about any information in the game. "Breaking" a game includes asking to see another player's role PM, sharing a PM from the game mod without permission, discussing the game with players who have been eliminated, and any other actions that may lead to an unfair advantage. If any player knows that another player is trying to break the game, he/she is obligated to report it to the game mod. The game mod will deal with attempts to break the game accordingly and may kick out the player from the current game or give a temporary ban from future games.

11. All other forum rules apply in this forum.

Player Activity

Any member of the Supernatural.tv forums may participate in up to two Wolf games at any given time. Game mods may play in one game and run one game at the same time.

After sign ups close for a specific game, everyone on the sign up list will receive a confirmation PM from the game mod. Players must respond to the confirmation PM if they still wish to play. If players do not confirm that they are playing, the game mod will not assign them a role and they will not participate in that game.

Players are expected to actively post in the game thread. If players are absent from the forums for a few real-time days, the game mod may send a PM to remind them to play. If players miss 3 consecutive day phases and do not vote, the game mod may choose to eliminate them from the game.

If a player drops out of a game or is eliminated due to inactivity, the game mod may choose to replace that player in the game.

Note: These are basic, standard rules. Game mods may modify or add rules for specific games, so be sure to read the game mod's instructions.

Voting

To Vote: You must bold your votes so that game mod can easily see them. If you don't and the game mod misses it, it's not his/her fault. Votes should be on a separate line such as:
Vote: Angel325girl

If you want to change a vote, do it like this:
Unvote: Angel325girl
Vote: Seraphim

**Please use the person's screen name (or an obvious abbreviation of it) so that it's clear who you are voting for.

Other Notes

Any other communication to the game mod in the thread should at least be bolded and on a separate line so that the mod can see it. (You may also PM the game mod at any time.) The game mod will post vote updates throughout the game so players do not have to keep track of votes themselves.

Game mods may set deadlines for day and/or night phases to keep the game moving.

Please read the rules in your game for how day phase eliminations will be determined (by a majority vote or other criteria).

Also, please check the specific rules in your game about PMing players in the game.

Play continues until a side wins. Most of the games here are based on team wins--not individual wins. Even if you were eliminated from the game, if your team wins in the end, you're a winner.

Again, if you need to drop out of a game, it's not a big deal, but PLEASE notify the game mod. It's better for everyone to have an active game, so instead of not participating, just tell the game mod you can't continue playing. If you need to drop out very early in the game, you may be replaced. If a replacement isn't possible, then you'll just be eliminated.

You may contact the game mod via PM at any point during the game with questions, suggestions...whatever.
