Chapter One

Dani Miller was sleeping in her queen-sized bed in her house in Andover, Massachusetts when she heard a knock at the door. She heard it faintly at first as she woke up and then louder when she was awake. She swung her legs over the side of the bed and put on her robe and her slippers and walked to the bathroom. Her reflection showed a girl of twenty one with dark brown hair with blond and red highlights that flowed down to just past her shoulders. She was about five feet, seven inches tall. She had gentle blue eyes that looked like sky and a lovely complexion. She left the bathroom, looking at the clock as she walked by. 3:30 am.

“Who the hell is knocking at my door at three thirty in the morning?” She asked herself in a thick English accent. She walked into the living room aimed at the door. She looked through the eyehole and unlocked the door. She opened it and looked at the person in the doorway. “Bloody hell. Meg Masters.” She said.

“Hey Dani.” Meg said.

“What do you want?” Dani asked coldly.

“Is that anyway to greet your best friend?”

“Ex-best friend.” She corrected.

“Ouch.” Meg clutched her heart.

“Don’t do that. You have no heart. If you were my best friend, you wouldn’t have almost killed me.”

“Listen. I know that was a mistake. But, can we put the past behind us? I need your help.”

“What with this time?"

“Can I come in?” Meg asked attempting to walk through the door. Dani stood in her way.

“No, you can’t come in.”

“Dani, I really need your help. The people I need dead won’t let me near them. I need to you to do it.”

“You want me to be a hit woman for you?” Dani scoffed.

“Yeah.”

“No way.” She tried to close the door.

“They killed your brother!” Meg yelled in an attempt to get Dani to help her.
Dani opened the door.

“What?”

“They killed your brother.” She repeated.

“Sam and Dean Winchester? That’s who you want me to kill?”

“Yes. I’ve tried. They got away and I know I can’t get near them again. They’re too smart and they’re too big a threat to demons to be alive."

“I’m not a demon anymore.”

“You still have it?” Meg asked referring to the tattoo of the demon symbol on the back of Dani’s neck.

“Yeah. I still have it. I’m kinda stuck with it.”

“You’re still a demon while you have that.” Meg said.

Dani thought for a moment. Sam and Dean had killed her brother. They killed her friends. They killed her family. Because of them she had been an orphan at twelve. Anger filled her. She wanted revenge.

“Alright.” She agreed reluctantly. “Just tell me where they are.”

Sam and Dean were sleeping during all this. Sam, who had had restless nights, was sleeping the best he had in months. His dreams were vision free as were his daydreams. He hadn’t slept well since their dad had left after the shadow demons. He had had nightmares about their dad dying in brutal ways. In one, John was tied to a pole in a room. Sam could see a sort of mist swirling around in the room. He saw John cough, shout out a name that Sam could never make out, and struggle weakly before his head rolled to one side. There were two other figures that Sam never made out. He had this dream the most. At least, he thought it was a dream. They hadn’t heard from John since his departure. Dean didn’t know about the dream. Sam didn’t want him to worry over nothing. But then, what if it wasn’t nothing? His mind constantly had a war over this very thing. Tell Dean or not tell Dean? Not tell Dean was always what his mind decided.

Dean had lost the journal. His dad’s journal. The thing that told them everything was gone. Last time he had seen it was in the Impala. He had turned the car upside down looking for it. They had torn the room apart and had no luck.

Sam then heard the distant sounds of Dean’s alarm. He heard the thump as Dean put on the snooze. He slowly opened his eyes and examined the hotel room. He looked over at Dean and saw him turn onto his side, huddled under the comforter.

“Sammy?” He whispered.

“Dean go back to sleep, man.” Sam muttered.

“I’m gonna get breakfast.” Dean said said. Sam murmured something and Dean took it as permission to leave. He quickly dressed and left the room, grabbing the key on the way out.

In the lobby of the hotel there was a breakfast bar set up. There were eggs, scrambled and fried, bacon, Canadian and American, pork and turkey, smoked and honey, sausage, maple and regular, biscuits, bagels and cream cheese, and even donuts. Orange Juice, apple juice, coffee, and milk were served also. Dean grabbed a tray and a couple plates and filled them both. He got coffee for both him and Sam. He was leaving the room when a girl knocked into him. Everything fell off the tray. The coffee spilled on the girl.

“Oh my god! I’m sorry.” Dean said. He dropped the tray to help the girl. “Are you alright?” He asked her.

“I’m fine. I’m ok. It just spilled on my jacket it didn’t get me.” She slipped off her jacket and shook it.

“I’m really sorry. I’ll pay for the dry cleaning.”

“No, no it’s alright. Thanks though.” She looked up and smiled at him. She had sky blue eyes and beautiful skin. Dean smiled back.

“I am sorry.” He said.

“Would you stop apologizing? It was an accident.” She said, still smiling.

“Yeah. Sorry.”

“Stop it.”

“Alright. Listen my brother and I are in 320. If you change your mind and want me to pay for dry cleaning, come on up. I’ll give you cash on the spot.”

“Alright thanks.” They each turned and was walking away when the girl found something. “Uh, sir? I think you dropped this.” Dean turned around and saw the girl holding his wallet. He felt all four pockets and walked over to her. “You’re Dean Winchester?” She asked, lifting her gaze slowly from his driver’s license to his eyes.

He took the wallet and put it in his pocket.

“That depends. Who’s asking?”

“I’m Dani Miller.”

“Nice to meet you Dani Miller.” They shook hands.

“I think I found something of yours. Uh, it’s up in my room. It has your name on it. It’s a journal. It had Winchester written on the back.”

“You found the journal?” Dean gaped.

“Yeah. It was lying in the parking lot. I was gonna bring it down to lost and found. Come on. It’s in my room.”

So, they got on the elevator together and walked to her room. She slid the key in the door and opened it. They walked in, Dean closing the door behind him. She walked to her table and picked up the leather bound journal.

“Here ya go.” She said.

“Thanks so much.” He replied, taking the journal. “Don’t forget about my offer.” He opened to door and left.

Dani watched the door for a moment and walked to her bathroom. She said a few words in Latin and the mirror began to swirl.

“The brothers are here, just as you said. I’ve introduced myself. What do I do next?” There was silence. “Befriend them?” More silence. “Yes sir.” She said other words in Latin and the mirror changed to reveal the hotel room of Sam and Dean. Dean just walked in. She smirked. Dean would be first.

Ok here's chapter two...I might have chapter three up later bc chapter 2 was done yesterday but my internet was bumped before the chapter posted...So, here is chapter two and chapter three might be done later...more than likely though laugh.gif

~Jessie~

Chapter Two

Dean walked into the hotel room to see Sam still lying in bed watching TV.

“I thought you were getting breakfast.” He said. Dean had forgotten all about breakfast when he got the journal back.

“Uh, yeah. I did, but I knocked into the someone and it all spilled.” He sat down on his bed.

“Smooth move dumbass.” Sam said, switching channels.

“Thanks. She -.”

“She? Someone refers to a ‘she’?” Sam asked.

“Yes, Sam, someone refers to a ‘she.’ Anyway, she found this in the parking lot.” He showed Sam the journal.

“Holy crap!” He swung his legs over the side of the bed and took the book out of his brother’s hands and flipped through it.

“Yeah.”

“Is there anything missing from it?” Sam asked.

“Why would there be?” Dean asked.

“I dunno.” Sam continued to flip.

“No, why?” Dean pressed.

“I don’t know. I mean, some random person picks it up. You don’t know if she looked through it.”

“Even if she did, what’s she gonna do. Call 911? ‘Hello officer. I think there are ghost hunters in the hotel I’m staying at.’ I don’t think so.”

Meanwhile, Dani walked out of her bathroom and opened the dresser. She lifted up some clothes and took out the piece of paper that was below it. She looked at it. ‘Daniseco’ was written at the top along with a picture of her. It told everything about her. She had ripped it out of the Winchester’s journal as a precaution. She couldn’t risk exposure. Not yet. They will never know who she really is. They’ll be dead long before they find out Dani is a demon.

“Hey.” A voice said behind her.

She turned to see Meg leaning against the wall, arms crossed.

“Hi.” Dani replied.

“How’s it going?”

“Good. I’ve met Dean.”

Meg laughed.

“Good choice. Though I prefer Sam.”

“I didn’t mean to actually. I accidentally bumped into him. Spilled food all over.” She giggled.

“Good move. What’s next? What goes He say?”

“Make friends with them. Make them trust me then do it while they’re asleep.”

“Do you have a plan?”

“As a matter of fact, I do.” Dani rummaged through the drawers and pulled out a clean pair of jeans and a clean tank top.

“Mind sharing?”

“Yeah, actually, I do.”

“Come on Dani.”

“No. This is my job. Not yours.”

“It is my job. You’re helping me remember?”

“I’m doing this for me. Not for you.” She slipped out of her jeans, which had egg on them, and pulled on her cleans on. She walked into the bathroom and closed the door on Meg and changed her top. She emerged and sat on her bed.

“What are you doing?” Meg asked.

“I’m getting ready.”

“For what?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” She said with a grin.

“Yeah I would.”

“See you.” She said before she disappeared.

She reappeared in a rock hallway. The underworld. She walked down the corridor, demons jumping against the wall to give her room.
Dani was one of the most powerful demons in the underworld. No one contradicted her or crossed her path in fear of death, which she had permission to do.

She walked briskly down the hallway and turned the corner quickly. She walked into what looked like a demonic bar. She walked up the counter and the bartender gave her a shot of vodka. She swigged it down and threw the glass across the room. It shattered on the wall and the room hushed. She pushed all the glasses off the counter and climbed on it. She stood defiantly and eyed to room. Everyone watched her, knowing clearly who she was.

“I need a little help. But it requires you getting hurt or death. I need a demon to come after me so I can earn the Winchesters trust. Damsel in distress you know? They’ll help me. So, any takers?” She scanned the room, which was still dead silent. “I said any takers?” She lifted her hand and a ball of blue fire appeared in it. Suddenly the room erupted in yells to help her. She smirked and pointed to one and jumped down. They met in the middle and disappeared.

Sam and Dean had just driven back from brunch at a little café down the way. They were going to eat outside but a sudden downpour sent them to fast food. They pulled into their parking space and was about to go inside the hotel when they heard cried for help.

“Help! Someone help me! Please!” They heard. The brothers turned around and saw Dani running from a creature.

“Dani?” Dean said. He went back to the car and got into the trunk. He pulled out a gun.

“Dean, who is that?” Sam asked.

“The girl from this morning.” He loaded the gun with bullets and shut the trunk. He took off running.

“Dean!” Sam said. He ran after him.

“Help me!” Dani yelled. The demon had cornered her.

“Dani, I’m coming!” Dean yelled.

“Dean!” She yelled. She smiled slightly. Dean rose the gun and shot the demon who erupted in flames.

“Dani!” Dean lowered the gun and ran to her. She was soaking wet. “Sam get the blanket from the backseat.” He tossed Sam the keys and turned to Dani. “Are you alright?”

Still out of breath, she nodded.

“Yeah. What the hell was that?”

“I don’t know. Come on up to our room. We’ll get you warmed up.”

Dani nodded and accepted the blanket from Sam.

“By the way, Dani. This is my brother, Sam. Sam, this is Dani.”
“Hi.” Sam said.

Dani nodded in hello.

Sam and Dean helped her to their hotel room. She smirked when they weren’t looking. Her plan was working.

Hello guys!! Alright, I lied, chapter 3 was not up yesterday but it is today...Chapter 4 will be up tomorrow...Enjoy!!

~Jessie~

Chapter Three

On the way back to the room, they stopped at Dani’s room so that she could change. She stepped into her bathroom and looked into the mirror. She said the words in Latin again and the mirror swirled once more.

“I believe I’ve earned their trust, master.” There was pause. “Tomorrow, but-.” She jumped slightly. “Yes, sir.”

She emerged from the room, clothes dry, but hair still wet. Sam and Dean stood in her room waiting. She wrapped the wet blanket around her as she was still cold. She admired their hospitality for a complete stranger. Dean seemed more welcoming to her than Sam. Could Sam know? No way. He would have said something long before now. She had a day before she killed them so, why not get to know them a bit. It never hurt anything before. She had gotten so close to people, people she was to kill, that they had proposed but, she turned them down and killed them when she needed to. She was a demon, whether she liked it or not. So, what was getting to know the Winchester boys a little bit. If she failed, which she wouldn’t, she could feed Him information.

They walked back to the brothers room and Sam knocked up the heat. Dani sat on Sam’s bed and Dean sat on his. Sam joined him and they looked at her.

“So Dani,” Dean said, “What happened?”

“I was walking to my car when this, this creature, like, lunged at me. I dunno why.”

“You weren’t provoking him?” Sam asked.

“God, no. Why would I? I didn’t even know he was there.”
“Just asking.”

“Ok, then what?” Dean asked.

“I ran like hell and the damn thing chased me. And then you two showed up just in time.”

“That’s all?” Sam asked.

She nodded and asked the inevitable question, “What was it?”

Dean and Sam exchanged glances. Should they tell her the secret? Tell a complete stranger what they really do? Break Winchester rule #1- do your job and keep your mouth shut? They didn’t know this girl. Can they trust her? They nodded to each other.

“It was a, how do I put this lightly? A demon.” Sam said.

Dani’s jaw dropped.

“A what?” She asked. I must be a good actor, she said to herself, they’re eating out of the palm of my hand.

“A demon.” He repeated.

“A demon?”

“Yeah.” Dean said.

“Like the kind in books and, and, and fairytales. They really exist?”

“You can’t tell me after the thing you saw that they don’t.” Dean said.

“Alright. Demons exist. So, how did you know how to kill him?”

Again, Sam and Dean exchanged glances.

“We’re kinda experts.” Dean said.

Dani looked at them.

“Our mom died when I was six months old. She was pinned to my ceiling and our dad ran in and found her. She burst into flames and that was it. That was all that was needed to make our dad obsessed with finding the thing that killed her.” Sam explained.

“Thing?”

“Yeah. Something supernatural killed our mom and our dad had to find it for revenge. Twenty years later, he’s still looking for it.” Dean said.

“And twenty years later we still haven’t found the damn thing.” Sam said.
“But we’re closing in on it.”

“Uh, yeah, I’m still here guys.” Dani said.

“Sorry. So, ever since, we’ve been looking for it. That journal that you found, it has everything in it that we need to hunt evil. It’s our dad’s journal. We hunt everything from, demons to creatures to ghosts.” Dean said.

“So, you’re modern day ghost hunters?”

Dean looked at Sam, who nodded slightly. Dean looked back to Dani.

“Yeah, I guess.”

Dani, of course, knew all this already. About their mom, and the journal, and things they hunted. A lot had been friends of hers had been killed by the Winchester men and that’s why she was doing this.

“So, why did he come after me?”

Dean thought a moment.

“I don’t know. Could be a demon just trying to randomly kill someone.”

“What we can do though, to make sure you’re safe, is keep you here tonight and we can put salt and cat’s eyes shells around the room to protect you. Mainly those two only repel ghosts but we have some other things we can do.” Sam said.

Dani thought a moment. The master said tomorrow. But tonight was a perfect opportunity to kill them. Be rid of the Winchester’s once and for all.

“Uh, let me think about it. I’m gotta get something from my room.” She left and ran to her room.

Walking into her bathroom she was muttering the Latin incantation that made the mirror swirl.

“Master, they’ve invited me to stay in their hotel room so they protect me from other demon attacks. Tonight would be a perfect time to kill them. I could -.” She was interrupted by the Him. She frowned. “Yes, sir. Tomorrow then.” She swept her hand through the air, mirror returning to normal.

She grabbed a duffel bag and stuffed a few odds and ends into it. A knife being one. She exited the room and walked down the hall to Dean and Sam’s room.

The next day they spent the day together. Sam and Dean didn’t dare let her out of their sight, afraid of something happening. Dani stayed close pretending to be their friend. Or was it pretending? Was she beginning to have, Satan help her, fun with people she was to kill? Not like it mattered. She had gotten extremely close to people and had always done her duty. But this was different. The feeling was different. She felt close to the brothers. Something she hadn’t felt in years. Not since, Tom, her fiancé, her demonic fiancé. He was the first person she’d felt close to that she hadn’t had to kill. She called off the wedding the morning it was to take place, however. Not since then had she felt this close to someone. And she had never, NEVER, not wanted to fulfill her mission. But, strangely, she didn’t want to do this one. Killing the Winchesters’ meant freedom for all demons. But she had said herself she wasn’t a demon anymore. Her hand when to her tattoo. She felt it and memories of past killing rushed into her head. She shook her head. You have to kill them Dani, she told herself, not for other demons, and not for you, but for they ones they killed that you loved.

That night, they went to bed around ten. It was one o’clock before she braved her killing.

She grabbed the knife from her bag and placed it in the waist band of her pajamas. She stepped lightly as the walked to the door leading into the bedroom(the hotel room had two rooms). She pressed softly on the door and pressed slightly, not wanting it to creak and wake up one of the brothers. She knew they were light sleepers.

Once inside the room, she walked over to the side of Sam’s bed. She whispered something in Latin, a spell making sure Sam didn’t wake up when he heard Dean’s cry of pain. She slipped the knife out of the waist band, walked over to Dean, and raised it high above his chest.
