Enemy Territory part 1

Cliffhangers drive me insane! I wasn't going to do this, you know, I was going to Wait Till Friday, so I could read it all at once. Then I thought, I'll just take a little peek. And the peek went to the end.

I hate you all!

And now I HAVE to read tomorrow's..... sigh.

great job with the first chapter! i wonder what the sargent wants with sam...and i wonder what was up about that grandchildren thing he was saying....does this have something to do with the family curse??? i can't wait to find out more! is it wednesday yet???

Awesome start. Although I gotta say that I'm surprised that Dean would use a racial slur. I can understand the soldier using it when he was fighting the Viet Cong, but Dean? C'mon...was it really necessary?

So...the family secret is that Dean and Sam are not full brothers? I hope not, but it sort of seems that way: John was only a Lance Corporal and could not have sent the platoon on that mission; and if Grayson and company are after descendants of the person they blame, they would be gunning for Dean as well if he and Sam have the same complete parentage.

I do have to agree with the poster above about the slur: the war was over years before Dean was born, so it wouldn't have been anything he should even have encountered, but even more, we have seen that Dean is pretty 'color blind': I always took Dean's "Why didn't your father call the police?" to Cassie in "Route 666" as demonstrating that Dean so does not make ethnic distinctions that it never occurred to him that someone would have to avoid calling the police because of their skin color. (It always seemed to me that the only distinctions Dean makes are human/non-human, and good/evil.)

I certainly never meant anything rascist by Dean's comment. It just felt right that he'd talk like a soldier having John for a father. Not to mention - the boy is a HUGE movie buff who I suspect watches way too many films like this. (John had a war movie on in the pilot????)

As for Sam's parentage - no - he and Dean are full brothers. You're looking in the wrong place for a connection. But don't worry, all will be revealed!!!

Great start Kittsbud! I too am wondering what these soldiers want with Sam. I'm also wondering who Dean drunk dialed in the bathroom...could we be seeing the return of Big Daddy Winchester in the near future? Looking forward to tomorrow!

Hmmm... What does Sam have to do with the Ghost Platoon??? You mention an interesting word in this 1st part but I'm not gonna say it and just wait for the 2nd part to see if I'm on the right path.

But as always Kittsbud, awesome and interesting start. Just one of those things that gonna keep me wondering, what the hell is going on? I like those. Mysteries stories are always fun!!

I certainly didn't take it as such. I was just a little surprised by it is all. No worries. I don't believe that it hinders the story in any way.
