Wow...this week has gone by slow
I'm glad you guys liked the cliffy...well some of you
This marks the downhill side of the story.
So, yeah. Thats all I have to say.Chapter Thirteen
Dean sat on the coffee table staring at his still unconscious brother. He leaned forward and put his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands. He combed his fingers through his short hair and sighed.
Sam had been out cold for almost ten hours. Dean hated to think of the time because he didn’t know what had been happening to Kali in that time. He couldn’t loose her. He would never forgive himself if she died because he felt like she was his responsibility.
“Dean?” Phoebe’s voice from behind him. He looked back and took the coffee from Phoebe’s hand.
“Thanks.” He muttered. Phoebe sat next to him on the table.
“Any change?” She asked.
Dean slowly shook his head. He took a sip of his coffee and set it on the table.
“No.” He said.
Phoebe could see the worry on his face. She knew how he felt because loosing a
sister was her worst fear just as, obvious by the look on his face, loosing his
brother was Dean’s. She rubbed his back in circles.
“What are we gonna do about Kali?” She asked.
“I don’t know.” Dean said. “I can’t do it without Sam.”
“Y-yes you c-can.” Sam suddenly muttered. Dean heard him and got down on the
floor on his knees next to Sam.
“What?” Dean asked.
“Y-yes you can. Do it w-with out m-me.”
“Yeah, well I don’t want to.”
Sam smiled softly.
“How are you feeling?” Dean asked,
“W-what h-happened?” He asked.
“Um,” he picked up the shard of mirror that was in Sam’s back, “Dani threw you
into the mirror and this was in your back. You’ve been out for about ten hours.”
“K-Kali?” Sam asked.
“Dani got her.”
Sam sat up despite Dean’s attempts to make him lay back down.
“What?” He asked,
“Dani took her.”
“Dean, we need to get her back.”
“I know.”
“Why didn’t you go before?”
Dean looked at him with conflicted eyes.
“What if Dani -?” Sam said.
“I know. I’ve been thinking about that for hours.”
“Ok, well I’m up, so let’s go.” Sam swung his legs over the couch.
“Whoa, whoa. You sure?”
“Dean, I’m fine. Kali may not be.” Sam looked at Phoebe. “Do we have a plan?”
“Potion is ready to go.”
“Good.” Sam stood up and walked from the room. Phoebe and Dean exchanged
glances and ran after him.
When they walked into the kitchen, Sam held out a vial of green potion to Dean.
Dean handed Sam his gun and he tucked it away in the back of his pants.
“Let’s go demon hunting.” Sam said.
Kali’s arms were tied behind her back around a post. It was dark, wherever she
was because she couldn’t tell the difference if her eyes were opened or closed.
Suddenly, a red glow circled her and flames shot up from the ground. Her hair whipped around her face as she turned her head from the sudden heat. The flames died down and the silhouette of someone stood in the doorway. It had glowing yellow eyes.
“Hello, Dani.” Kali said.
“Kali.” She said short.
“Is this what you did to the other element demons? Tie they up and burn them
alive?”
Dani smirked and shook her head.
“Oh no. You’re special. Besides, it’s not you powers I’m after.”
“That’s shocking. Call Guinness.”
Dani glared at her.
“Smartass.”
“I only learn from the best. Sis.”
“I came and got you because you made a deal. He called for you.”
Fear swept over Kali as she swallowed hard.
“What does he want?”
“Well, cooperate and the world will be demonic in twelve hours. Don’t and you
won’t be here in twelve hours.”
Kali closed her eyes in thought.
“I’ll give you some time.” Dani said. She left the room, leaving Kali alone.
Suddenly, a hand flew over Kali’s mouth. She squealed and struggled against it.
“Shh! Kali, shh!” Dean’s voice whispered. Kali looked behind her shoulder and
saw Dean and Sam standing behind her. “You have to be quiet.” Dean said.
Kali nodded as tears filled her eyes. Dean removed his hand.
“What are you doing here?” Kali whispered.
“Saving you.” Sam said, sawing at the rope that was holding Kali in place.
“No, you have to leave. She’ll kill you if she sees you.”
“We know. Which is why she won’t.”
“No, I won’t let you risk your life for mine.”
“Kali -.”
“No!” Kali let a tear escape her hold and Dean wiped it away. Sam stopped
sawing and stood next to Dean watching her.
“You’re as stubborn as she is, you know?” Dean asked.
Kali smiled and nodded. She shook some hair out of her face.
“I’m not going to take the deal. I won’t turn the world. I can’t.”
“But, you’ll die. She’ll kill you.”
Kali nodded reassuringly.
“And that’s ok.”
Sam sniffed, holding back tears of his own.
“K-kali, don’t.” He begged.
“You guys have been great, but you can’t protect those you love forever.”
She heard the footsteps of her sister approaching.
“Go. Quickly.” She said. Dean kissed her on the head before leaving with Sam.
“Made your decision?” Dani asked, stepping into the light.
“Yeah. There is not a chance in Hell I’ll help you.” Kali said.
Dani nodded.
“Very well.” She swept her hand through the air and the flames rose around Kali.
But instead on staying in their ring, they began to enclose on Kali.
She closed her eyes, waiting for the hot licks of death to get to her but a sudden rumble met her ears. Se opened her eyes and saw the flames were gone. There was a crack down the middle of the ring.
“NO!” Dani yelled. She and Kali exchanged glances. She was pissed. “Congratulations, Kali. You used your Earth powers for the first time you
could remember.”
Kali closed her eyes again and focused on her power. Before she knew it, her
hands and feet were free of the wooden post. She threw a fireball at Dani, whom it hit in the shoulder. Kali ran from the room, looking over her shoulder for Sam and Dean.
She ran down the rock corridors, demon dodging her thinking she was Dani. She
rounded a corner and stopped.
Dani was at the other end.
“You can run, but you cannot hide.” She said. She motioned for Kali to go to her
and Kali found herself floating toward Dani.
She struggled against it but she couldn’t. She opened her right hand behind her
back and a red-hot iron appeared.
When she reached Dani, she kicked her sister as soon as the hold was released.
Kali bent down to straddle her but Dani pushed her to the wall, iron falling out of
her hand. Dani was on top of Kali before Kali could blink. Dani put a hand on
Kali’s throat, squeezed and lifted Kali off the ground.
Kali gasped for breath as the tight increased. She could feel blood trickling down her neck from Dani’s nails. Her visions started to go blurry when Dani’s scream filled the empty corridor and Kali hit the floor hard. She was in someone’s arms almost immediately.
She recognized Sam’s strong embrace and leaned into him. She opened her eyes and saw Dean holding the iron to Dani’s left palm.
“You guys read my mind.” She said. Dani yelled out in pain as Dean forced the
iron over the All Seeing Eye branded into her palm.
Dani closed her eyes and when she opened them again, they were yellow. She
used telekinesis to throw Dean and iron to the opposite end of the corridor.
“Dean!” Sam and Kali yelled. The rose and ran toward Dean but Dani caught
Kali’s hair.
“You’re coming with me.” She said.
“Kali!” Sam yelled at Dean’s side. Dean sat up in time to see Dani disappear with
Kali.
