I'm glad you all liked the first chapter. Here is number two. I had the chapter in my head for a long time, and I couldn't wait to write it. I also have the third chapter in my head, so expect it soon too.
This is a little bit of a tear jerker, I think...so beware.
Enjoy! Chapter Two
Sam’s eyes immediately filled with tears and his legs became jello. He collapsed to the floor as tears fell from his eyes. It hadn’t been this bad before. He was pissed before he was sad. He didn’t think he had ever cried this much in his entire life, but he couldn’t stop no matter how hard he tried.
Kali rubbed his back with one hand while the other covered her face.
“Would you like a private-?” Dr. Moore began.
“No.” Sam said quickly. “I want to see my brother.”
“Sam -.” Kali began.
“I want to see my brother!” Sam yelled. Kali and the doctor jumped at his sudden outburst and Dr. Moore agreed. Sam stood up and walked down the hall. Kali followed him until they reached the door. She stood outside and watched through the window as Sam sat on the bed.
He watched his brother’s lifeless form in silence. The room was eerily quiet without all the beeping and other noises. He wiped away his tears, knowing that if
Dean were watching him cry he would haunt Sam forever. He sniffed and breathed in deeply.
“I’ll get her, Dean, I promise. If I have to kill her, I will. She won’t get away with this.” He said quietly. “Why didn’t you hold on? Why did you leave us? Leave me?” Tears appeared in Sam’s eyes again, but he blinked them away. “How could you leave me alone, Dean?”
I’m an only child now. He thought. A tear fell down his cheek. “If I couldn’t handle it before, how could you think I could now?” A knock on the window brought Sam back and he looked back. Dr. Moore stood at the window. He slowly opened the door and poked his head in.
“Sam, the coroners are here to take him to the morgue.” He said.
“O-ok.” Sam said. He stood up as the two gentlemen entered the room. Sam leaned down to Dean’s ear before they moved him. “I love you, Dean.” He whispered in Dean’s ear.
Kali entered the room as the coroners exited. She walked up the Sam and hugged him tightly. Sam wrapped his arms around her and hugged her back as more tears fell from both their eyes.
“I’m so sorry, Sam.” Kali said.
“Don’t be. You didn’t do anything wrong.” Sam said. “But, Dani did. And I’ll kill
her for it.” He let go of Kali and walked toward the door in a sudden rage.
“Sam!” Kali yelled. She disappeared and quickly reappeared in front of Sam with
her hands out. “Stop. Don’t do this.”
“She killed Dean!” Sam yelled.
“I know! I know she did. But you can’t go after her when you’re mad because
she will use it against you. Let’s go back to the hotel and tell Laurie, then we’ll
figure out what to do. Ok?”
Sam listened to her and tired to keep the tears of rage inside. But once she was
done, they took full control and fell from his eyes.
“Sam.” Kali said quietly. She gave him a hug again.
The ride back to the hotel was quiet. Kali drove because Sam was too upset.
When Kali pulled into the parking lot of the hotel, Sam got out before Kali had even put the car in park.
“Sam!” Kali called after him. She put the car in park and took the keys from the ignition.
Laurie was sitting on the couch with a sleeping four year old in her arms. She was watching the news when Sam burst through the door.
“Sam?” She asked quietly. She pushed Dean gently off her and onto the pillow. He got comfortable in his sleep in a ball next to her. Sam didn’t say anything as he walked through the room into the bedroom.
Kali caught the door just before it closed and walked into the room.
“Sam!” She yelled.
“Shh!” Laurie said. Kali looked at her and she pointed to Dean on the couch and Melissa in the playpen. She too was asleep. Laurie stood up as Kali tossed the keys on the table.
“Tell Sam it’ll be ok. I’m going to have a talk with my sister.” Kali said opening the door.
“Kali, wait.” Laurie said. Kali faced her. “What happened? How’s Dean?”
Kali licked her lips and looked Laurie in the eye.
“She killed him.” She said and then she walked through the door and closed it, not
allowed Laurie to respond.
Laurie fell back onto the couch in shock and stared to cry.
Kali appeared just outside the morgue at the hospital wearing a lab coat. She opened the door and walked in.
“Who the hell are you?” The coroner asked.
“Dr. Reading sent me.” Kali said.
“Dr. Reading assigned me personally for this shift.” The man said stepping away
from his desk.
“Well, apparently there was a change of plans.” Kali said matter-of-factly. The
coroner looked at her with surprise and left.
After the door closed, Kali waved her hand at the door and locked it.
Then, she took off her lab coat and walked around the room, looking for Dean’s
body. When she finally found it, she slowly unzipped the bag and pulled it back to
his neck. She choked back tears and she turned around and walked to the middle
of the room.
“Dani! Dani Miller! Get your demonic ass down here right the hell now! Don’t you
make me come down -.”
“There’s no need to yell.” A calm voice said behind her. She whipped around and
saw Dani with her arms crossed leaning against the door. “All you had to do was
call.”
“You son of a bitch, you killed him!” Kali said walked toward Dani.
Dani shrugged it off.
“One down, one to go.” She said.
“Don’t you dare lay a hand on Sam!”
Dani laughed.
“It’s so ironic. Less than a month ago, you didn’t want anything to do with the
Winchesters. Now you’re willing to risk everything for them.”
“I’m more like you than you think, sis.”
“Why is that you called me?” Dani asked.
“I have a proposition for you.”
“A deal? From you? You hate deals.”
Kali nodded.
“Yeah, but this is worth it.”
“Really? Well then, what is it you want?”
Kali walked over to Dean’s body and looked down at it, but didn’t return her gaze
to her twin.
“I want you to bring him back.”
Dani scoffed.
“And what makes you think I can do that?”
Kali turned around quickly and faced Dani.
“Because I know what was in the tonic! I gave it to you! I know what was in it!
And I know that it had the power of resurrection in it! I know you can bring him
back, dammit!” Kali yelled.
“And what do I get if I do it?” Dani asked.
“What He wants.”
Dani was confused.
“Me.” Kali said.
“You? And why would He want you?”
“So, not only has He not figured it out, but neither have you. He’s pissed because He had me, He wanted you, and He lost me trying to get you. All at the same time. He had you get the twins for their power. He figured that a full set of twins and one twin from another set would be a huge amount of power. He was wrong. And you know this. Mum used to talk about it all the time. You can either have the power of one set of twins, or two. There’s no in between. If you bring Dean back, He’ll have his two set of twins. And I’ll help you fulfill your deal to Him.”
“What do you know about the deal I made?”
“I know to save Dean’s life you said you’d change the world and bend it to
demonic rule. And Sam too. And you still haven’t done it yet.”
Dani didn’t have a response to this. She uncrossed her arms and walked over to Dean’s body.
“So,” she turned around, “are you sure you want to do this Kaliseneca?” She said stepping up to Kali.
“Absolutely Daniseco.” Kali said taking two steps to her sister so she was a foot and a half away from her face.
Dani put her index finger and her thumb together and pulled them through the air like she was pulling a zipper. A piece of parchment appeared in the air.
“You’ll have to sign.” Dani said.
“Give me the pen.” Kali replied.
Dani smiled and opened her hand. She held out the knife for Kali.
Kali understood. She took the knife and pricked the end of her finger. She signed the parchment in blood and when she dotted the ‘i’ in ‘Miller’ the parchment disappeared.
Dani walked over to Dean’s body and pulled the bag down past his stomach and put her hands over him. She began to mutter something in Latin and her hands glowed red. After a minute of trying to revive Dean, nothing happened.
“I can’t do it.” Dani said.
“What?” Kali asked, switching her gaze from Dani’s hands to her face.
“I can’t resurrect him.” Dani repeated. Kali used her powers to throw Dani into
the corner.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN’T RESURRECT HIM!?” Kali screamed.
“I don’t have that power.” Dani said, smirking. “He played you, Kali. And He just
won the game.”
“You son of a bitch!” Kali yelled. She took the knife she pricked her finger with
and charged at Dani.
“Kali, no!” She heard. Two arms wrapped around her body stopping her from
killing Dani. She gasped and dropped the knife, knowing who it was. She turned
her head around as the arms let go of her.
“Dean.” She gasped.
