Has Ben Been Confirmed As Dean's Son?

This was actually settled at the end of TKAA back in season 3. Lisa (cannon) says that Dean is NOT Ben's father.

Kripke himself confirmed that Ben wasn't Dean's son in an interview.

Yeah, Lisa said she had a DNA test done and confirmed who the father was. It wasn't Dean, though I don't think for a moment that would stop Dean from loving Ben as his own. *sniff*

Something in me still wonders now whether part of that story line was in response to "Dean as a Dad" fanfiction - you know, because as a show they've acknowledged fanfiction more than once or twice. It's probably a stretch though, I don't know.

Well to be honest Kripke and Lisa could you know actually lie and mislead us as it isnt the first time that a shows creator could do that or contradict themselves, ect..

darkcarpathianprince - I think Ben is a fairly insignificant piece of information, mytharc-wise, to go to so much trouble to lie over, don't you?

Anyway - Ben isn't Dean's son. So what? It's not like Dean can't be a father to him. Ben, Lisa and Dean perfectly showcase what SPN highlights so well and what Sam struggled with throughout the entire run thus far: non-traditional families. Bobby, Dean and Sam were a family, and that "family" stretched to include Ellen and Jo as well. So now Dean has a chance at happiness with another family; Lisa and Ben. Doesn't matter that Ben isn't his biological son.
