DAY ONE:

Alright, maybe not Top Secret. I mean, I don't have a death wish. Seriously, the second I entered 'Silver Pictures' I had to sign a confidentiality agreement with guys with guns pressed to my head - part of the deal is having snipers trained on me twenty-four-seven. But, hey that's the biz. Hollywood is the new CIA.

All of the above was just a joke, well maybe not completely - but, seriously, I did sign a confidentiality agreement so I can't tell you guys everything. I can just throw in some minor parts here and there about things already known on the web publically that isn't "leaked" info... just like opinions and stuff like that on projects and what went on.

I mean, I'm interning on the same lot as Supernatural. I never in my wildest imagination dreamed that I would be able to say that years back. It wouldn't have even popped into my mind that that was possible.

Not only that, but today I saw Joel Silver! I was walking through the halls and just right there - right in front of me was my boss... talk about a really surreal first day. I also did the usual interning gigs as well as read a couple of kick ass screenplays.

Fully Automatic's kinda cool, it's an action comedy (as can be seen through IMDB PRO). Can't say much more than that though. The plot details aren't even on IMDB Pro yet! And man, that right there speaks volumes!

Logan's Run, the current script they're working with was kinda a disappointment - I've read the book and there was so much that stuck out about it as an adoptee... I mean, the whole giving away children and growing up with no natural mother... it just struck a chord, you know? Evidently, it didn't only resonate with me - it did so with Bryan Singer as well who wrote an earlier draft that I'm going to read - just by skimming through it seems to have gotten the story a LOT more. He's a fellow adoptee. They're current draft's still good, it just could have been a lot better.

All this information has been in the public, just my opinions without telling you what things are or why I feel a certain way. I'm working five days a week, my choice, because it's the coolest place on Earth especially for a screenwriter - I mean, dude, I have all these scripts at my disposal to read! How cool is that?! Also unfortunately I can't talk much about them or say some of the titles unless they're known publically, one that they're working on - DUDE I had a fangasm as a comic guy it was that awesome of a surprise! Nor can I take pictures, I think someone on a tour tram took a picture of us interns though -

This was my first day and all in all, Warner Brothers rocks. Great scripts, an amazing selection. I feel like I'm actually part of the team and the other interns are cool too. I haven't ran across Eric Kripke yet though, but their writers and I share the same back lot and I think cafeteria too - which WB has great food for their team. Or maybe it's just all the excitement, I dunno... I just felt like a kid in a candy store.

I can tell you one thing for sure though....

THIS IS HOLLYWOOD BABYLON!

Congrats, Dean 5339! highfive.gif

That is totally awesome. It sounds like the chance of a lifetime and who wouldn't be thrilled to be there in the midst of all that action? Best of luck and fill us in with what details you can. And let us know when you meet the Krip!

DAY TWO:

"Get us out from under, Wonder Woman. All our hopes are pinned on you. And the magic that you do."
- Wonder Woman animated theme song

After only having under five hours of sleep - due to Transformers midnight - I had a relaxing day of just sitting around the office reading Josh Wheadon's script for 'Wonder Woman' and started doing coverage (note: it's not the most recent draft of the project). I found the script to be great and while, yes, it did need some more development it really remained true to the character's mythos in the comics. And it's Josh Wheadon, where can you possibly go wrong there? Writing the coverage, trying to capture his voice, I found that I needed to implement the same sarcastic tone from time to time.

I managed to "infiltrate" Warner Brothers through an internship program - but, also on part due to the various projects listed amongst my resume. Multus Tempestas (returning Sept/Oct) included.

The really surreal part is that it seems like working in an office building being in the development area, but the thing is rather than dealing with just ordinary products you have all of these exclusive scripts to read (I'll read some really classified scripts this weekend), Joel Silver walking around and a room with post-production crews working on the horror film 'Orphan.' It's seriously out there.

You add this to being friends with an academy award winner's son - who I'm working on a project currently with that we hope to sell some day soon... the future is no longer a question mark, I see it. Tangibly and solidly see it. That's insane! While yeah, I'm still the same screwed guy I always was - I'm seriously messed up - it seems like that's a gift/curse thing with the amount of famous celebs stating the same emptiness as being part of their motivation. As Shia from Transformers once stated, it's the land of the broken hearted. Even "film God" Spielberg has often stated this...

Always being at the moon,

Your Inside Man.

So, what's happened in my time away? Well, I got to read an exclusive screenplay that I wasn't allowed to even show the other interns. I got a screenwriting magazine from the VP of development. I'm known as one of the fastest readers by the creative exec. and development VP. Although I didn't get into the 'Orphan' premiere, I stood outside with the crowd coming out to see if I could spot any celebrities - odd part was, it was just my co-workers (interns weren't given a ticket) and boss Joel Silver. It's really surreal how common place it becomes. This week I'm pitching MIGHTY MAX, I have a trailer all set that I've been working on and after I pitch the project I'll host a link here. All in all, my personal life may be falling apart, my professional life is on the rise - kinda funny how it works like that.

That Mighty Max you're pitching wouldn't happen to be based on a cartoon about a kid with a souped-up baseball cap and an owl and a viking as a companion would it? I loved that cartoon! biggrin.gif

The SUPERNATURAL script department is on the other side of the lot. I've driven by, or I think I've driven by, where they work since Kripke mentioned that they're in a "house" during an interview once. Haven't seen anyone from the crew though.

The funniest thing in life; just when your professional life is on the rise, your personal kinda falls apart. But, I guess that's made me a lot more motivated. Accordingly, I seem to be on the fast track here at Silver Pictures.

I was the first intern to write notes on a film - UNKNOWN WHITE MALE starring Liam Neeson - and they want me to look over their next draft which will be available in a week or so; since next week is my last week I'm going to see if they can send it to me via e-mail so I can provide further notes and comments based on what I think. NOTE: I CAN NOT SEND THIS SCRIPT TO ANYONE, THUS PLEASE DON'T ASK. I'd happily continue to do coverage too over the course of the year, if they let me and intend to come back next year. Suffice to say, I'm getting ahead.

I also finally pitched Mighty Max today and they dug it. There's three blockbuster properties out and being developed based on animated series and a toy line, one is a massive success, one comes out today and one is being developed: TRANSFORMERS, G.I. JOE, and HE-MAN. Here's the next summer blockbuster coming to a theater near you:

MIGHTY MAX TRAILER

The expressions on their face - they really liked what they saw and thought the presentation was awesome. They didn't say whether or not they were going to buy, but they thought it looked cool and seemed interested. So, who knows, if that film comes out or gets put into development soon, you know the man responsible for getting it there. I was also the only intern to do a trailer for his pitch.

It seems more and more likely that the company I'll end up working for is WARNER BROTHERS. Which is really awesome and kick ass because it's my favorite company and ironically my first MAJOR project was based off of a WB property - MULTUS TEMPESTAS. That is also looking like we'll have a stand-out year.

This Hercules is close to going the distance.
