I've been watching Supernatural during this hiatus and I am confussed on the first episode of Season 4. When Dean goes and sees Sam for the first time from coming back from Hell.... Ruby (Genevene) opens the door to Dean and Bobby. Now from the episode of IKWYDLS Sam was already involved with Ruby, so did she know that was Dean? Was Sam playing along when she was leaving by calling her the wrong name? Did they just like Genevine as an actor and brought her back for the role of Ruby? I'm just really confussed. Can anybody clear this up for me? Thanks!! wub.gif

Sam and Ruby were hiding the fact that she WAS Ruby from Dean and Bobby. If he'd have said by to "Ruby" Dean would have gone balistic...

So why wasn't Ruby "freaked" when she saw Dean? I guess she knew he would be back? By the way this is one of my favorite episodes. I can watch it again and again. Dean is sooooo good looking in this episode I just can't get enough of him smile.gif. The diner scene is my favorite part...Man he looks good!!

Maybe Ruby knew about Dean's resurrection or maybe she saw lots of strange things that this one didn't surprise her very much.
Or maybe she was surprised but hid it cause it wasn't time to discuss of it

It was established that all the demons were freaked that Dean was back. Ruby's best quality is survival. She knew to lay low and gave Sam the sign she was not interested in being there anymore by asking if they were "together".

Well, she could have easily covered it during the moments when Sam was trying to kill Dean while Bobby was telling him it really was Dean.
