When he woke up this morning he was all excited and happy. He just woke up from a dream where he was obviously with the girl he has been pining after since like forever, since like he was 5 or 6. Practically since the first time they’ve seen each other in preschool.

He just got down the stairs and headed to the kitchen for a gulp of milk which he took a swig of from right off the bottle much to the aghast of his mom who just caught him in the act and gave him a quick pinch on the side playfully making his son giggle since he actually was ticklish; “And where did you learn your manners, young man?”

The smiling face of his charming son just met the warm lady of the house with a: “From a farm!” That actually made his mom chuckle softly. “Oh, honey…there’s food in the cupboards for your dinner later. No pizza’s alright?” She just took her son’s face in both hands and plants a warm kiss on his teenage son’s cheeks.

“Okay, mom. Have a great day at work!” The boy calls out after her as she grabs her briefcase from on top of the counter top and then towards the door.

“Love you!” Added the boy.

“Love you!” She calls out in return from outside the door.

Jonathan Kent just came down the stairs and sat in front of his son behind the counter. “Good morning son!” greeted the old man to his boy across from him on the counter.

“Hey, dad…I was kind of wondering if you could take a look at this.” The boy slides a piece of paper towards his father. “What is it, Clark?” Asks Jonathan as he takes a sip of his coffee. But the second he got a whip of the contents of the paper his son slipped towards him--Clark Kent’s bad day started its streak.

The 17 year-old, only child of the Kent’s just asked his dad to sign up his form to allow him to apply for varsity in school. But his asking his dad was met with a resounding ‘No!’ from the old man. For him, the senior Kent which is his father, hasn’t the slightest idea of how hard it is to be him; to be wearing Clark Kent’s farm boy shoes.

Jonathan Kent has no idea. He just doesn’t understand. As if he wasn’t having a hard time already at home, the second he got to school, he just had to see the girl of his dreams or even when he’s awake; in the arms of another guy. Well not really another guy since technically she has never been Clark’s. Always have been Whitney’s.

Walking home from school, Clark was trying to think and just let off steam when he decided to just park himself on the side of the road, by the bridge and try and drown his thoughts and bad day onto the river beneath. His thoughts hadn’t gone far enough and had barely skimmed the river yet when a shrilling sound coming from behind him scattered every though in his head into the air. The second Clark turned his head towards the sound, it had already been too late fro him to do anything.

A silver Porsche was speeding right at him.

And that’s how they met; Alexander Luthor and Clark Kent.

--

Clark knows he’s special and he knows secrets are always going to be his constant companions wherever he goes. But sometimes they just seem ridiculous to him having to make up stories and excuses every time he finds himself in predicaments that prove questionable. Kind of the like the one he is in right now.

He just breathed life back into the only heir of the Luthor’s. After fishing him out of the river, Clark just retuned this guy’s life to him; the river almost took it away earlier, but Clark was there.

“Hey, kid are you okay? Cause I could’ve sworn I hit you…” The guy he just rescued and who just hit him with his car asked him confusingly.

“If you did, I’d be --dead.” Clark quickly answered back. But he knows he would never get hurt by anything remedial.

This is exactly the questionable situation Clark hates. He always ends up lying. For parents who put so much emphasis and are all about morals and virtuous living in everything that is Kent's, it just is so ironic.
