Supernatural > Season 6 Episodes > I Don't Know What To Believe?

It has been noted that Ben shares many similarities with Dean (both physically and personality-wise) causing some to believe that Lisa may not have been entirely truthful in her initial account of Ben's parentage; however, this remains unconfirmed by any official source.
At the end of "The Kids are Alright" Lisa confirmed that Ben isn't his son, (despite the fact that Ben was 10 years old, and Dean's last meeting with Lisa was also 10 years ago) and then told Dean that he could stay. I would think if she wanted him to stay and Ben was his kid, she would have told him.
I was very aware of that, until season 6. Something happened or said (I can't really remember exactly what it was) but it made me start doubting again and think that Ben might be his son and Lisa was still lying because it would be too dangerous if Dean knew. She also knows that Dean won't stay long enough even If he did.
When Lisa was possessed, she said some things to Dean but nothing about Ben being his son was ever mentioned.
I just need an answer to this, I'm still confused and can't stop thinking about it.
Lisa isn't my favorite female supernatural character, but her relationship with Dean was precious. I would want her back on the show!

Well I wrote my opinion on the matter as a "Let It Bleed" missing scene from Dean's POV:

I really don't think Lisa was lying. She genuinely looked surprised that Dean was disappointed that Ben wasn't his. Lisa said she had a type, guys like Dean, leather jacket, outlaw, scars, no ties types of guys.

She also later said that Dean was exactly what she wanted for her son, a man he could look up to. She invited Dean into her family because she wanted him to be that man.

If he was Ben's father, I think she would have told him. It was her wish that he be Ben's father.

I actually think it is more poignant and emotionally real for Dean that he isn't Ben's biological father, but in all the ways that matter, Dean was his dad. Dean took on that responsibility and loved the kid as a dad. Just like he did with his brother in raising him.

Dean wanted to be a father and he was. The true tragedy is that he surrendered all that for their welfare, to keep them safe.

In my eyes Dean is Ben's the purely voluntary, self-sacrificing, emotionally relevant way.

Thanks guys, I think I got it now. smile.gif
It is still slightly disappointing that Dean isn't Ben's biological father. tissue.gif
I hope they make some changes though and bring them back to the show. <3

Well since they never said yes or no, and we have Lisa saying one thing and a demon spinning two different stories, we may never really know.

Yay, there's still hope. cheerleader.gif

Yup! That's why I wrote the missing scene that I posted above. Just to show my opinion of whether he was or wasn't, that in Dean's eyes, he did something right by a child and was father that no piece of paper proving otherwise could ever change. smile.gif

I think it might be cool if Cass had not really erased their memory but asked them to pretend he had, or if something triggers their remembering Dean again. (I mean, what does it mean that he erased their memory?)We definitely need to see some more love and hopefully some prodegies.
