What Happened To The Colt?, And where did the other Colt come from?

What happened to the Colt somewhere between AHBL and BDABR? I saw YED get shot with the last bullet in AHBL and then Bobby was repairing it in BDABR.
What happened to it in between those epis?

OK, just saw the ending in BS where Sam is at the crossroads trying to make a deal for his bros life. The demon says the Colt he's holding isn't the same one.
So where did the original Colt go and where did this one come from?

And weren't the original bullets special? So how did they get more?

Dean used the last bullet in the colt to kill the YED in AHBL 2. In season three's Sin City, Bobby tried to fix the colt to use regular bullets, but it didn't work when he tried it on Ruby. Ruby fixed the colt and gave it back to the boys.

Then how was Sam able to shoot and kill the CRD in BS?

I just reread your reply. Just what did Ruby do to fix it? And does that mean she fixed it to where it'll kill demons with regular bullets?

They didn't show what Ruby did to fix the colt. Just that she fixed it.

And presumaby Dean has the colt in the trunk of the Impala now. Last time we saw it, Dean tried to kill Lucifer with it in S5.

Yes, I do. Thank you. I've been trying to figure out what made the original bullets special. Now I'm thinking that was never revealed in the show.

Could be the runes inscribed on it and the fact that there were 13. 13 is generally seen as a magically powerful number either pointing toward extreme good luck or extreme bad.

Me, I look at it as kind of an anti-magical number. When used in something it can disrupt magical energies and scatter them to the winds. A demonic spirit is, in essence, an unnatural magical energy with the darker personality of the person it once was, so, the gun is designed to scatter that magical energy. Just like with any other supernatural energy. Supernatural, can also be called unnatural because it isn't of the natural world. Ghouls, ghosts, angels, demons, vampires, werewolves.. they don't follow the natural order of things here on earth, so their energy can be scattered with a properly placed doom bullet to the chest.

Unless you're Lucifer. Who is awesome.
