I loved it. wub.gif It started off very funny and then got all serious towards the end. Because of Dean's supposed death Sam became the seasoned, hardened hunter Ruby wants him to become, but he still made his bed like a good boy. I knew every time we saw the dog, the guys struggling with the desk, the old man leaving the diner and all the other multiple scenes that they would all play a part in Dean's demise. I have a theory for you:- I know The Trickster is not a demon he is a god of sorts, but still a bad ass, he is resonsible for numerous deaths, so I'm thinking maybe he's the one holding Dean's contract. What do you guys think? FIREdevil.gif

I don't know that he would hold Dean's contract, but he may know who does and who know's he might be the one to help Dean out of it.
Very interesting either way huh.gif

Hmm...interesting theory, but i dont agree wink.gif

I think the trickster will keep his word, and stay away from our boys. I'm fair sure a big bad demon holds Dean's contract, and i cant wait to find out who! (though i have an idea, its a spoiler wink.gif )

What we did see from this ep though is that Sam truely CAN take hold of his life, and live without Dean...he just becomes downright scary!

and i agree silvertayl - still a good boy making his bed laugh.gif i thought that was a bit out of place, but still pretty amusing tongue.gif

(On a side note: 24 replies to the poll? Must be more aussies lurking around here than i thought!!! tongue.gif)

In my opinion, the trickster wouldn't be the one to hold Dean's contract. He appears to have no affiliation to any side and I doubt Dean's soul would be of any significance to him, considering that he can change reality on a whim.

As for him being a badass, I wouldn't call him as such. Being a god who wields an extraordinary amount of power, who I assume has been around for a very long time, he must also have a great amount of knowledge and wisdom. That being said, the trickster punishes whom he believes deserves it, i.e. "jerks". He just makes it very comical and amusing for himself. I'm not excusing the deaths, but that's my take on why he is the way he is.

As for Sam, we saw his life without Dean and it was a very unhappy one. He definitely needs Dean around, and vice versa.

I just wanted to ask, what was the trickster saying? I heard something about teaching Sam a lesson but I missed the rest. What lesson was he trying to teach?

He was trying to show that he couldnt save Dean, no matter what. That there was nothing he could do to stop Dean dying.

Wow, i'm helping you a bit tonight John laugh.gif

Indeed laugh.gif

Thanks Nikki!

Strange why he would take so much interest in Sam. Maybe it links back to what I was saying before? That with all his power, he feels he should do this. Or maybe something more sinister is in play?

Lucky the trickster had some sympathy on Sam and brought Dean back.

Yeh, he pointedly said it wasnt about Dean dying, and he was truely frustrated when Sam begged for Dean back.

I think initially he did it because they had tried killing him in Tall Tales, but it grew into the much larger picture of Sam having to live and cope without Dean.

It really did come down to him trying to show Sam that he can live without Dean and that he will need too.
You could tell at the end he was getting frustrated Sam, I just have a feeling the trickster may be trying to help Sam in some way... well help really isn't the right word.

I agree - through all his tricks, he did appear to try give Sam something out of it, to show that he was right. I think Sam took away the lesson - although yes, he begged for Dean back, and got him, deep down he'll always remember those months alone like they really occured (which they did, in a way wink.gif )

He knows he can cope without Dean, and i reckon that'd scare him a bit. He doesnt want to be capable of living without Dean...he wants Dean with him. (duh! captain obvious right here tongue.gif )

I think its proved an interesting plot twist, since from now on we know that Sam has been there, and probably will be thinking about it often.

Yeah that's true, I don't think he will ever forget living without Dean, I had a feeling that's how Sam would end up living his life without Dean.

it was funny as hell and i was glad to see the trickster back (i've created a group as well if you fancy joining) also i thought it was hilarious with dean dying in daft ways and sam just getting more and more fed up with it all.

it did have a good idea to it as well with the trickster trying to get sam to understand that he has to let dean go and t accept that there was nothing he could do....goes to show the trickste isn't all bad wub.gif

I still enjoy watch this eppy as much as I did the 1st time I watched it. At first, the storyline ended somewhat too abruptly. Even after the Trickster told Sam he had enough playing around with him and telling him that it was like talking to a brick wall.

It ended too soon because I was expecting some sorta closure to the eppy but it just ended like all the previous days when Sam woke up after Dean dying all the time. Sam just woke up one Wednesday, hugged Dean and they left the motel like normal.
