Mount Doom Wolf Game is Here!

Welcome to the Supernatural/LOTR crossover Wolf Game! Please be sure to read below as I had to change the game slightly to accommodate the number of players.

The Game Begins: 10 PM EST on Wednesday, February 15, 2012

We'll be using the Standard Rules except as noted below. Please make sure you read and understand them before you begin playing.

Please remember:

To Vote: You must bold your votes so that the game mod can easily see them. If you don't, it will not be counted. Votes must also be on a separate line, such as:

Vote: Raven

If you want to change a vote, do it like this:

Unvote: Raven
Vote: Stokes

***Please use the person's screen name (or an obvious abbreviation of it) so that it's clear who you are voting for.

I am the game mod and will post important information in light blue text, so that it is easy to pick out. Players, please do not use light blue text in this thread (if you have light blue text in your signature, that's fine).

You may contact me via PM at any point in the game and I will respond as soon as possible. If you post something in the thread directly meant for me, please post it in orange text, so that it, too, is easy to pick out.

*****

General Rules:

In the case of a tie vote during the day phase, the kill will be determined by game mod via random selection among all who have been voted for (not just those that are tied).

All players' roles will be revealed when they are eliminated from the game. Conversions however, are not revealed after night actions.

The Evil Eye will be employed randomly during the game by the game mod. Anyone who has not voted during the day phase may be frozen by the ‘eye’ and will be unable to vote and/or use their special ability for the next day or night phase. Whether or not the eye will strike will be determined by a random toss of a coin at the end of each day phase. If a player has been struck, they will be immune from another strike due to them being unable to vote.

Human win conditions: All Orcs/Evil Wizards are eliminated

Orcs/Wizards win conditions: Orcs/Evil Wizards and humans are in equal numbers.

Independent win conditions: Find Frodo and Precious. Can be a dual win. Humans don't have to eliminate Independent role in order to win. Orc/Evil Wizards don't have to eliminate Independent role to win.

Roles:

(All roles were assigned randomly.)

Pro-town (1)
Hobbits - No special powers
- Vote to kill Orcs/Evil wizards during day phases
- Original alignment: pro-town
- If converted: Hobbits become Orcs

Pro Power Roles (5):
-Sam and Dean know who each other are at the beginning of the game and may PM each other during the day phase only.
-Wins when all Orcs/Evil Wizards have been killed.

Sam Winchester (cannot be converted): May try to find an Orc/Evil Wizard during each night phase. If he finds Sauron, he dies. He will be given the role of the player except for Gollum who will appear as Frodo to Sam. However if he finds Frodo, he will be able to protect him during the day and night phase from being killed or converted. He will also be able to PM him during the day phase only.

Dean Winchester (Can only be converted after he reverts to a human role): Is in possession of the Sword of Anduril and can use it to kill any anti’s. If he accidentally gets a pro player, the player will die. He may only use the sword a total of 4 times in the game. Afterwards, he reverts to a human role but may still PM Sam as long as he is alive. He can’t PM Frodo, so if Sam dies, Frodo and Dean can’t communicate.

Gandalf (Cannot be converted): May PM any member during the day and also has the ability to protect one player either during the day or night phase. He may not protect the same person in the next phase, however he may protect himself once during the game.

However as a wizard, he may resurrect Frodo but only if Frodo dies as a result of identifying Sauron. If both Frodo and Sauron die, I will not reveal who is Frodo or who is Sauron. (Note: if Sauron does not die, but only Frodo dies because Sauron found him first, this will be revealed.) Basically, Gandalf will have to figure out which is Frodo. If he guesses wrong and tries to resurrect Sauron--he dies.

Galadriel(cannot be converted): An elf queen known as the Lady of the Woods. Galadriel is the leader of the Sylvan elves. She offers spiritual aid and counsel. Each night she may gaze into her mystical pool and devine the alignment of a person. She will not be told if they are a power role.

Frodo (Can only be converted by Gollum): The hobbit who must take the ring to Mount Doom. He accomplishes this by identifying Sauron during the night phase. If he does so, then both Frodo and Sauron die. However, if Gandalf is still alive, there is a chance that he can be resurrected.

Independent Role (1):

Gollum: The hobbit who seeks ‘precious’ and will do anything to save it, including sell out the pro's or anti's. He can try to convert someone each night phase. If he converts Frodo he wins, the ring becomes his and Frodo becomes evil and joins the anti-side. If he converts a hobbit, they become an Orc with no special powers. If he converts an Orc, it becomes a hobbit. If he tries to converts Sauron or Saruman, he dies. He will not be told the alignment of anyone he converts only if it is successful or if he manages to convert Frodo. However, he can pretend to be Frodo if Sam PM's him. Once Frodo is dead or converted, Gollum can no longer PM Sam.

Anti Power Roles (2):

Anti's will know who each other are but may only PM each other during the night phase.
Wins when number of humans = Orc/Evil Wizards after the night phase.

Sauron: Must try to find Frodo. If he finds him first, then Frodo dies and Sauron continues to live. He also has the ability to shield himself from Galadriel, if she tries to see him, he will appear as pro.

Saruman: The only one who can call in a kill during the night phase. If he tries to kill Gandalf however, he dies.

Note: If Saruman is killed, then the ability to kill will pass to a random Orc/Evil Wizard. One orc/evil wizard will always have the ability to kill.

That’s it. Play continues until a side wins.

The game was modified to fit the number of people who signed up, so be sure to read for changes smile.gif

Mount Doom!

The Winchester Brothers had finally found a cheap hotel room for the night. It wasn’t as bad as their usual fair, but to be honest after doing ten hunts in a row, it could have been the seats of the Impala and they would have been happy.

Suddenly a mysterious figure appeared and stood between their beds. He sucked on the lollipop—grape, his favorite while he thought about how he could get the two stubborn men to accept their destiny and get on with the program. It wasn’t so much that he had anything against them, but he was tired of waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Destiny, why did they fight it so much and how could he show them. Suddenly the being snapped his fingers, a small chuckle escaped his lips. He knew the perfect place to send them to. If they didn’t get it after this, then he’d have to do something more drastic. But this, no this would be much more fun. He could already see the look on Dean’s face…

Speaking of said Winchester, the oldest of the family opened his eyes and shot up on the bed. “Sammy! We’re at Defcon One!”

“Cute Dean.” The Archangel said as he glanced over to see the other Winchester reaching for something under his pillow. “Do we really want to do this again or maybe we should just cut right to the climax of the show…”

Without saying another word the tricky angel snapped his fingers. The room was now empty, except for the duffle bags on the floor and the laptop sitting on the rickety table. As the silence continued, the Impala did as she had always done. She waited for her charges to return.

Dean Winchester blinked and looked around him. “Great, he’s dropped us in the middle of a forest!”

Sam shook his head and looked around. “Wait, this looks kind of familiar…”

“Is that? Sam look there’s a little person coming out of that hole in the side of the hill and…holy crap! There’s even a guy with a pointy hat and long white beard following him. Let me guess, we’ve been sent back to Camelot and are meeting up with Merlin…”

The youngest Winchester shook his head. “Do you remember JR Tolkien from school Dean?”

“You mean the teacher? Not really…why?” Dean continued to stare at their strange surroundings.

Sam rolled his eyes and huffed softly. “Not a teacher—the author. He wrote Lord of the Rings.”

Dean shrugged. “Yeah, well I may have slept through that class, just give me the Cliff Notes Version…”

Sam turned and watched as the man with the wizard’s hat walked towards them with a smaller man beside him—he looked almost like a boy. “Well basically we are in Hobbiton and if I’m correct, that would be Gandalf and Frodo heading this way…”

“Hobbits? Come on Sam, next thing you’ll be telling me is there is an evil eye and Orcs hiding in a forest full of talking trees.” Dean glanced at the two figures that were getting closer to them.

“I thought you said you didn’t read the books?” Sam huffed.

“I never said I read the books, but you didn’t ask if I’d seen the movies.” Dean’s eyes crinkled in merriment for a moment before he turned and glanced around again. “Gabriel! Get your feathered rear end down here!”

There was a soft stirring of the wind as the figures around them froze. The Archangel appeared, this time with what looked like a Snickers bar in his hand. He took a bite before glancing at the Winchester brothers. “It’s not polite to interrupt a man while he’s eating.”

“Well then we’d never get to interrupt you!” Dean said as he moved closer to the being. “Zap us back to the real world…”

“Or what?” Gabriel taunted. “I’ll tell you what, you play my game for a bit and if you manage to help Frodo fulfill his destiny…then we’ll talk about bringing you back.”

“And if we don’t?” Sam asked quietly.

“Then let’s say you better get used to outdoor living real quick. But just to show I’m not totally heartless, I’ll give you a weapon that might help you with your task” Gabriel said before he snapped his fingers and disappeared.

Dean looked down at the sword that appeared in his hands. He swung a few times, a small smile on his face. “Awesome! You know what this is Sam?”

“I can guess Dean…”

Before they could continue Sam jumped as a small hand landed on his arm. “Come Sam, time is short and we have a long way to travel.”

“How did you…” Dean started to ask how the boy/man knew his brother’s name but again he was interrupted, this time by the Wizard.

“Aragorn, the others wait for us—we will follow your lead. Samwise Gamge, keep up as we don’t have time for delay. The evil eye will be looking for us before too long.”

As the small party headed further into the woods, Dean glanced back at Sam who shrugged. “Guess we play the game…Aragorn”

That pic scared the hell out of me, Raven. Just... fyi. lol!

I really hate Day 1 voting. The only consolation about it this game? There are 9 of us playing and 8 power roles. The odds of hitting someone important are good... but there's also a good chance of losing someone important to us too.

I guess I'll start random then...

Ok, so it's easier to hit someone important and that's good? There's 8 power roles but only 2 are anti so yes the odds of hitting a pro power role are better than an anti, but I don't see how that's good unless you want to hit a pro.

Maybe I'm reading what you wrote wrong. It's been a long week and by way of explanation if I disappear...

Monday took husband to doctor in morning. In afternoon was in ER and in evening he was admitted. Was told Monday night he'd probably come home Tuesday, was told Tuesday it'd be Wednesday, then Wednesday it'd be Thursday then Thursday they're rushing him to surgery and now it's Saturday or Sunday.

I don't plan on letting this encroach on the game, as it's a great distraction, but I just wanted to get that out there.

Since we have until tomorrow night I'll wait and see what Seraphim has to say.

Yikes! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband, Aislinn! I hope everything's okay.

Also, i just went back and reread the roles and you're totally right. The odds of hitting someone on our side is much greater than hitting an anti. That's what I get for skimming things at obscene hours of the night before posting. lol

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. (Oh, and thank you for your prayers).

So late night skimming....I can buy that. Now what? Yoda's right we need to talk.

It's strange but Sammy22 and (B)ad have both been voted for and neither have spoken. It's not enough to vote for them as it is still early.

We have until tomorrow but I fear I'll have to vote random...like maybe alphabetically starting with the end of the alphabet and working my way backwards. Or just pull a name out of a hat.
