From what I've heard of the Leviathan in maritime lore, it can be anything from a giant whale , enormous squid or eel or something incredibly powerful and large that lurks in the deepest parts of the ocean. From what I've researched, it seems that's pretty similar to the Biblical Leviathan.

Or more likely, its a dude in a buisness suit with colored contact lenses on.

Its black and white with an old school typing that oozes something icky and black which if you noticed looked similar to the black crawly veins on Cas's face at the end of the scene.

My thought it meant something like old fashion. Dated. Old. The boys are gonna be dealing with something old. VERY old. Just my view. wink.gif

The title card seemed black and white, but then the colors bled together. Works for me. The road so far: did it include Lisa & Ben? Or even the Campbell's?

First thing that came to me when seeing the opening was that it was filmed "in the negative"....I think that's what you call taking the dark from the picture and making it white and the white making it black.

So you don't think that this all could be in Sam's head? hide.gif

That everything we see is the opposite of what we think? Does that make sense?

IDK, I like the squid ink too biggrin.gif

I prefer the "Road So Far" appearing at the end of the season to recap it rather then at the beginning. I kinda miss hearing one of the boys doing the voice over saying "previously on Supernatural..."

What? They never do that on my channel. We always get The Road So Far, never any voice-overs. I prefer it this way.

maybe but since I think the black eeky stuff has a reason, maybe blood wouldn't have fitted...plus they've used blood before.

Would the title card have been more impressive if they had used red instead of black? Basically would it have looked better if blood had been splattered around instead of ectoplasm or black icky stuff?

I loved it tho I did not get it, maybe as the series progress I will haha

I like the changes to the title as well. I have to admit..at first I thought something was wrong with my TV. smile.gif

The first things I thought of when I saw the black thrown against the white was black smoke or squid ink....something coming from a dark place onto a pristine innocent canvas.

Yeah, I know...it's probably way off. But it's the first thing that I noticed. I have to admit that every time I think of a Leviathan...it's glistening black, a sea creature, slimy, and not a happy camper.

Sounds like we might have a little of that going on this season.
