hey...listen is anyone else out there a fan from ny? i live on long island and i was just turning on channel 11 and it's not the cw anymore...it said style and friggen sex and the city was on? does anyone know anything?

never mind. just found out cable blacked ch 11 out over fees. has anyone else been affected by this? and will we get our channel back?

figures, i finally got dvr to record supernatural and now i might not even get to use it. i might end up watching sn on thursday instead of wed....

i hope this gets fixed soon because ny is a large market. if we don't get it back it could affect ratings. although i'd hope by now that neilsen doesn't count for much.

the cable co. here in ny, nj and i think some of conn. took away the cw due to retransmission fees. it's all about greed if you ask me. they seem to think noone will care that the station is gone.

i've already emailed the cable co. letting them know that i want the channel back. if there are any other sn or vamp diary fans out there who want their shows back, i ask that you send emails and complain.

ny and nj is a large market for the cw and ratings will go down for all shows if we don't get the channel back.

i figure if our fandom can keep sn for all these years, maybe they can rally against the cable co to get our show back on here.

in ny it's wpix 11. if you google it, you will be able to find out where to send email.

hope they hear from you guys. :) i figure if anyone can get our channel back, it's this fandom. ;)

I am also from Long Island. And I am not happy about this at all either. The company that owns the cw wants 30 0r 40 million dollars to broadcast the channel. I agree very greedy. I hope they resolve this soon. Its' very frustrating. :bang :cry

Yeah, this is happening all around the country. It sucks.

It happened where I live too in Minnesota. Since the middle of last year, I've using an indoor antenna combined with a signal converter box to get the CW but now I just read in our local paper our cable company finally came to an agreement about the fees. :)

We're supposed to be getting the CW back as soon as they can get the channel signal up and running again. They didn't give a date as to when, though. <_<

I'm guessing (and hoping) it will be the same where you are, but it might take a while for them to come to an agreement.

I think the Tribune company (which owns the CW) need to come back to the bargaining table. While I will never take Cablevision's side in a dispute with a channel or network, they have the upper hand in this dispute.

The CW/WPIX 11 is the local broadcast home of the New York Giants. Whenever one of their games air on ESPN or The NFL Network (which is happening this Thursday), it would have been televised on channel 11. Cablevision is offering a free preview of the NFL Network since they're no longer carrying the CW at this time.

So not only has Cablevision won a public relations battle, they also have an opportunity to increase their revenues since the free preview may lead to subscribers adding the NFL Network to their TV package.

The one bargaining chip that the CW thought they had has been taken out of the equation.

Supposedly, the cw and cablevision are still working on the problem. This really sucks. Does anyone know if nexflix will be streaming the new season of Supernatural? It will be worth the $8.00 per month. Thanks. :cry

They always have the new episodes on nexflix, so don't worry about it. but that really sucks. I hope it doesn't happen here in California, and if it does I am going to get nexflix lol.

i have netflix and it doesn't stream live. but as of sept 18th s7 is now available to watch. i believe it downloads the latest season once it ends. i'm in ny too. luckily the cw downloads the eps right away...so instead of watching on wed. nites, i'll be watching on thursday...hey, it's not like we haven't done that before. ;)
