It's that time again, players!. Where you find out who your friends and your enemies are. Who you can and can't trust. At least in the newest wolf game called Book Of Shadows. Will you be on the side of good or evil? It will be based around the television series Charmed.

Plot : The Source is after the Book Of Shadows and the only ones standing in the way are the Charmed ones, their Whitelighter, and a cop named Darryl. To help The Source is a Darklighter and one powerful demon named Balthazar known as Cole Turner. Will The Source over power the Charmed ones and steal the Book Of Shadows or will it remain with the Charmed ones?


We will be using the standard rules for this game with minor changes but you can still read the rules here Standard Rules

Pro-town roles***

The goal is to stop the Source and his pals from getting the Book of Shadows - 5 townies

Prue - can check each night to see who a person visited but can't learn their role or allignment

Piper - can freeze someone during the night. If she hits a power role, their action freezes that night and whoever she freezes will not die. She can freeze herself twice in the game, but not in a row. She can freeze anyone else muiltple times though.

Pheobe - can see a person's allignment at night, except The Source. He'lll show up pro.

Leo - can orb someone to safety at night but can't protect himself

Darryl Morris - can investigate someone every night. He can find out if that person was visited by a pro or anti but can't learn the name of the person who visited them. He can pm the people he investigates and they can pm him back but no one else. This could expose him though.

Anti-town roles***

If they kill the Charmed Ones and their friends, they win.

The Source - can kill someone every night unless Cole decides to find out a person's role

Cole Turner - can find out a person's role but The Source loses his chance to kill someone

Darklighter- has 3 arrows to use throughout the game to try to hit Leo. If he succeds, Leo dies and he'll turn into a regular anti. If he doesn't kill Leo, he'll still turn into a regular anti. He can only kill Leo so use your arrows wisely as they won't have an effect on any other role.

Just a quick question and maybe I missed it, but how many plain pro and plain evil folks are there? Or is everyone a power role this time?

I've got a question too. Does Cole find out the player's specific role or only pro/anti?

Raven I think there are 5 regular townies with 5 power roles on the pro side and only 3 on the anti and they are all power roles. I think this is right because Angel stated there are 5 townies and then she listed the power roles (these added together = 10) but when she talked about the anti's she only listed the power roles and there are only 3. So 10 pro's + 3 anti's =13 the amount of players in the game.

As to if she meant Cole actually learns the role, well I'd like to know that as well. We know the anti's all know each other (or at least they usually do), so Cole going after a pro is a given, but if he can find out if their a power role or not well that could prove to be really bad. :unsure:

@ Raven. There's five townies but there are not any regular antis. Unless you count the Darklighter. He could become a regular anti if he fails to kill Leo or does kill Leo. But there's only three anti's in the game. The Source, Cole and the Darklighter.

@ Yoda. He finds out their specific role. To me, alignment and role are two different things.

So we basically have 3 anti-power roles right now, which is what I was trying to figure out.

I also agree Cole will be dangerous since he can identify the power roles and then communicate it to the other anti's. So if the Source doesn't kill during a night phase, then we may be able to assume Cole has checked out someone. Not sure if that helps us much except to maybe watch the voting or non-voting going on for that night phase.

And of course we have the first day phase where voting is random

Yay another game. This is going to be fun.

Cole is going to be an interesting role. Not sure what I think about him finding out a person's role. He can be a real problem to the pros.

I'll probably be away for most of this weekend. I'm heading to a horse show and really busy. Hopefully the hotel will have wifi. Just so you know that if I'm gone it's only cause I can't get on the computer. ;)

Yay! A new game has started. I haven't played this in a while. :)

I'm kinda busy with having so many tests this week, so I'll catch up on this hopefully tomorrow. Not like there's a lot yet, but still.

@Sammy, it does seem like he'll be a problem, but on the bright side, we have a lot of pro roles that will make it difficult for the antis as well.

Just popping in to see if everyone has had a chance to respond. Looks like we're still missing a few. But I do have a question...Wolf are you talking about Cole's role and if so, why don't you think he'd be a big threat to the pro power roles?

Raven I'm wondering that as well. Cole is a big threat. He can ferry out the power roles. Unless she means that there are so many pro's that the chances of Cole hitting a power role are slim? :shrug But, even so, the chances are zero.

I think I'm more afraid of The Source. The Source can kill and he doesn't need to know if their a power role or not, all he needs to know is that the person is pro.

The Darklighter is concerning, but I think he can only kill Leo and this is where the numbers really help. He only has 3 tries for Leo and 10 targets.

Yeah Cole is a big threat. He can't kill, but he is a big help to the Source and the Darklighter with finding the power roles, including Leo.

I'm really not that scared of Cole's Role. Trade a night kill for a check? Not much power behind that, imo.

Cole was always my favorite character on the show. Hard to view him as a bad guy when he was possessed by the Source and basically driven crazy. I cried when he died. :(

The Source isn't any different from regular antis in other games, though. Not any scarier here, except if he has help from Cole.

But Syriani is right--trading a night kill for a check isn't something the antis are going to do often.

As you said, Day 1 is a guessing game, so there's really nothing I can say that'll make you change your mind. Unfortunately, until at least Day 2, we can all say stuff - none of it can be verified as truth.

Yep, this is more or less what I meant. If the antis chose to use the Cole role, then they lose the chance for a kill, giving all of the power pros the opportunity to possibly gain the advantage.

Okay, that makes sense. Although I still think Cole is a threat, I can see your point about giving up a kill. :)

I think the problem is all the antis have very strong powers which could do a lot of damage if they are not killed quickly.

I always think day 1 is quite hard, people don't really have enough information to work with and so it really is a guessing game but at the same time the first kill is crucial.

If not enough people vote or there's a tie then it will be random not only for the people on the list but all the players in the game.

The reason for voting Syriani could be considered solid, except for the fact that (B)ad Wolf had mentioned Cole not being that much of a threat first and Syr was expanding on that. I don't get what Syr said as being any more suspicious than (B)ad.

There is one more day before voting is over so I may change my vote but for now that's where I stand.

I agree with Yoda though, I don't see anything suspicious about Syriani or B(ad) at this point. I asked the question and I thought their points were equally valid. So for now I'll stay with my vote. But it could still change before tomorrow night :)

Finally I'm back and able to get on the computer. :)

Read through all the posts and of course nothing stands out. I'm going to place a vote now. Completely random except for the fact they are already on the list. Figure instead of adding to the list and having a possible random vote between everyone we already have 5 people so just pick off the list. ;)

i hate day one of new games. i'm gonna have to reread the thread before i make any decision with voting...

The first night usually is that random thing. *laughs* We'll start gathering more ideas as the phases go on. Sorry I haven't been on all day today though; I have a friend from Reading, England visiting me in the states and I had to go to the Airport to pick her up.

With it being the first day it will always be hard to choose someone. I just thought the other two gave more of a reason and mentioned who they thought would be more of a threat to the pros. I only thought it seemed a vague answer. Like I said in my post a silly reason but a reason none the less. :)
