We'll be using the
Standard Rules. Please make sure you read and understand them before you begin playing.
Please remember:To Vote: You
must bold your votes so that the game mod can easily see them. If you don't, it will not be counted. Votes
must also be on a separate line, such as:

Vote: Demoness***Please use the person's screen name (or an obvious abbreviation of it) so that it's clear who you are voting for.
I am the game mod and will post important information in
light blue text, so that it is easy to pick out. Players, please do not use light blue text in this thread (if you have light blue text in your signature, that's fine).
You may contact me via PM at any point in the game and I will respond as soon as possible. If you post something in the thread directly meant for me, please post it in
orange text, so that it, too, is easy to pick out.

Roles: (All roles were assigned randomly.)Miami Metro Homicide (Pro-town): – win once they’ve converted or arrested both independents and all anti-town players.
8 OfficersDetective Debra Morgan (The Sister) – must try to identify Dexter and/or Lumen once each night phase; results depend on the following conditions: (1) if she identifies Lumen first, nothing happens or (2) if she converts Dexter first, he becomes a pro-town power role and Lumen becomes a standard, pro-town player who retains her handicap.
Detective Joey Quinn (The Rule-Breaker) – is exempt from the no-pro-town PM rule, and passes off that ability to anybody he sends a PM to, though only when they are replying to him; nobody can lie and claim to be Quinn in a PM or otherwise.
Sergeant Angel Batista (The Commandant) – has the standard power of a Detective-type role, which is to identify the alignment of a player during the night phase, but has the added power/handicap of protecting the investigated from attack during the following day/night cycle, regardless of alignment.
Lieutenant Maria LaGuerta (The Double Voter) – can cast a second vote during the day phase, which must be sent to the Game Mod in a PM and not posted in the thread to count.
The Rape Circle (Anti-Town): – win once the combined number of pro-town and independent players reaches the current number of anti-town players.
Boyd Fowler (The Village Idiot) – if/when Dexter and/or Lumen kill him, the anti-town players can kill two people during the next night phase instead of only one or can convert one player and kill another.
Dan Mondale (The Dentist) – selects any player during the night phase and removes all of their teeth to prevent them from speaking during the following day phase, and if said player is a power role, negates their ability in the initial night phase and prevents it from existing in the next; cannot target the same player on successive nights.
Alex Tilden (The Disposable Rapist) – requires one vote less than a majority in order to be killed – sucks for him, doesn’t it?!
Cole Harmon (The Martyr) – can sacrifice himself to protect Jordan during any day or night phase, immediately sending whichever phase it happens in to its conclusion; as a result, Jordan is safe from harm for two full day/night cycles, beginning the one that follows Cole’s sacrifice; this ability does not take effect if Cole dies as a result of Dexter/Lumen.
Jordan Chase (The Leader) – can convert one player during each night phase, but gives up the Rape Circle’s kill in doing so; all power roles (regardless of being pro-town or independent) are conversion immune.
The Vigilantes (Independent): – win once
they have killed off every member of the anti-town party; if, at any time, they become unable to complete their win condition, both players become pro-town.
Dexter Morgan (The “Good” Serial Killer) – is allowed to attempt to kill an anti-town player during each night phase, but the attempt will only succeed if that player is actually guilty of being anti-town; he cannot kill somebody in jail but can free all currently arrested players to get another chance up to three times in the game, and cannot try to kill somebody on the same night he frees the jailbirds.
Lumen Ann Pierce (The Apprentice) – is a standard role with a particular constraint: she must use one episode title of season five of
Dexter at least once each day phase
in general conversation and once she has used one title, she cannot use it a second time; here is a list: (1) “My Bad,” (2) “Hello, Bandit,” (3) “Practically Perfect,” (4) “Beauty and the Beast,” (5) “First Blood,” (6) “Everything Is Illumenated,” (7) “Circle Us,” (8) “Take It!” (9) “Teenage Wasteland,” (10) “In the Beginning,” (11) “Hop a Freighter,” (12) “The Big One.”
***: This is
not an RPG. You do not have to sound like Dexter if you're him unless you want to give clues about your role. The roles simply represent what you can do in the game. You play as yourself – not the character.
***: As the game progresses, I will relate what happens in a short narrative at the beginning and end of the day phases.
***Anti-town players
begin the game knowing who each other are. Independent players
begin the game knowing who each other are.
***: Only anti-town and independent roles (with the exception of Quinn and anybody he converses with) can PM each other during day and night phases; everybody is free to PM me at any time.
That’s it. Play continues until a side wins.

As soon as you receive the confirmation PM and reply to it, feel free to start playing the game.
Day Phase 1 ends on Friday, January 14 @ 10 p.m. EST or once we have reached a majority and stayed there for one full, real-time day, whichever comes first.
Yoda - January 5, 2011 02:54 AM (GMT)
Hi everyone! I've never seen Dexter, but this should be an interesting game. :)
Wolfhound - January 5, 2011 03:09 AM (GMT)
Hello, I also have never seen Dexter. Well, I saw the opening and part of an episode, lol.
Stokes - January 5, 2011 04:38 AM (GMT)
I am making one quick adjustment to the Standard Rules. Rule number eight says that you may deceive each other and even outright lie about whatever you want. I'm still allowing this. The change is, nobody -- I repeat, NOBODY -- can lie about being Quinn, mainly because that would give unlimited people access to breaking the no-pro-town PM rule if they felt like it.

Hey everybody! How are you all doing?
Cinca - January 5, 2011 11:40 AM (GMT)
Hey everyone. I have never seen Dexter either. So a new game, huh?
Wolfhound - January 5, 2011 12:30 PM (GMT)
I can't wait to see how this starts playing out.
WinchesterSis - January 5, 2011 04:06 PM (GMT)
Whoa, that game already started! :)
I should be able to fit in a decent week of obsessive play before I have to cut back a bit when the break ends.
hukie - January 5, 2011 05:28 PM (GMT)
Hey everyone! Another wolf game :skip
How's everyone doing? I started classes again today so hum... yeah :(
aislinn - January 5, 2011 05:28 PM (GMT)
Yay, New Game! I just have one question...
Have roles and sides been given out or did I miss something?
Angel325girl - January 5, 2011 06:20 PM (GMT)
no they were given out unless you didn't get a pm from stokes. He just opened the game before he gave them.
sammy's_luver - January 5, 2011 07:25 PM (GMT)
Hey everyone. I'm excited to be playing again. I've never seen Dexter either.

Roles were given to you after you confirmed you were still playing.
tiffily - January 5, 2011 07:33 PM (GMT)
yeah, school started back up for me too.
but its been cool.
aislinn - January 5, 2011 07:34 PM (GMT)
Thanks Angel. So, I guess let the paranoia begin.
And thank you Stokes, as well.
jazzie1416 - January 5, 2011 08:20 PM (GMT)
Hey peeps! Yay new game! Woot Woot ( i wonder if that going to get me voted for again =P)
I've never seen that show but i heard its good.
tiffily - January 5, 2011 08:40 PM (GMT)
Yeah she's heard its good from me. Becuase I used to talk about it constantly.
jazzie1416 - January 5, 2011 09:15 PM (GMT)
Wolfhound - January 6, 2011 03:54 AM (GMT)
Arg, school is kicking my butt lately. I hope I can dedicate enough time to this game! Lol, I know schools important and all but.. well... I'd rather be doing this.
Angel325girl - January 6, 2011 05:41 AM (GMT)
lol, no Jazzie, you won't get killed off from saying woot woot. I think it's three times now. But you never know. It would suck if you die in the beginning of the game because you said woot woot.
aislinn - January 6, 2011 02:25 PM (GMT)
I hope Jazzie wouldn't be killed off for saying woot. Wasn't that attempted last game and she ended up being a good pokemon?
It would suck dying the first day, period. I'm tempted to vote for Hukie just to keep their legacy of going first going.
But, seriously broken record time here, but I hate first days. We have nothing to go on and now that no PM rule is still in effect it makes it harder, although I will admit more fun.
Cinca - January 6, 2011 02:39 PM (GMT)
Yep it would suck if someone got killed off just for saying woot. And agreed, let the paranoia begin.
Especially with the no PM rule.
hukie - January 6, 2011 04:54 PM (GMT)
So I was thinking about casting the first vote and starting things again, but that's what got me killed last time in the first night phase, so I'm going to wait for someone to do that...
Angel325girl - January 6, 2011 07:02 PM (GMT)
Everyone still didn't post anything so it's kinda of hard to cast a vote.
aislinn - January 6, 2011 07:58 PM (GMT)
Well one thing we should have learned from the last game is that participation is most important, especially since most of us can't PM. I mean how else are we gonna get a feel for who we should vote for?
The damned independents are throwing another monkey wrench into things. They could be handy to keep around, I mean if they don't manage to kill ALL the anti's they become pro and hey that's two more for our side, but then again if they do manage it they win. So, I guess for them to become pro we need to get an anti this day phase before they can, and therefore they'll become pro? Am I understanding this correctly?
Wolfhound - January 6, 2011 08:12 PM (GMT)
Hi everyone, I've got a break in my schedule so I can finally come on here and participate a little more. :) I'm new to this whole wolf thing, so I'm not really sure what to do. o.o Do we just all converse until we get suspicious of someone and then vote for them?
sammy22 - January 6, 2011 08:17 PM (GMT)
Woo hoo. Another game. I'm a little late I guess. I didn't realize it had started so soon. :P That and I wasn't sure what team I was on yesterday.
Another no PM game. <_< I thought it made things interesting.
Well, I shall hold off on the voting. I don't think everyone has come on yet.
Angel325girl - January 6, 2011 08:19 PM (GMT)
I think the independents can become pro but I think the antis would want to focus on the independents since their mission is to kill the antis and if the indy's die the antis get two kills instead of one if I read it right. So it makes sense for the antis to go after them first which means right now they are valuable to the pros. Aren't they?

Pretty much. This is only my 3rd game so it is still kind of new for me too.
Angel325girl - January 6, 2011 08:29 PM (GMT)
Nevermind. I read the Village Idiots description wrong. So if Dex or Lu kill him the antis can kill two people instead of one. Not the other way around. What if he's just killed by the pros? Does he still kill two people?

Yup Yup Yup.
Thats the way it works.
Unless you're a power role.
Then you have an advantage.
hukie - January 6, 2011 09:27 PM (GMT)
Well the longer we wait before starting to cast votes, the more pointless discussion we'll have <_<
Cinca - January 6, 2011 09:30 PM (GMT)
This is why first day phases suck we don't know a thing. <_<
tiffily - January 6, 2011 09:43 PM (GMT)
Also, for me anyway, the first day is kind of slow.
Its like when im in physics class. When I don't know anything Im like. -_- but then when I start putting two and two together I get excited. So I like the later day phases.

True so should we vote for someone whose not here and see if they come on or vote for someone whose here. The only person who could allude us all is Yoda. She's about as good as a player as Demoness. There's also a couple others I can think of.
Stokes - January 6, 2011 10:08 PM (GMT)
@aislinn: No. If you get an anti before the independents do, that does not convert them. It doesn't because a.) the pro-town can only arrest in this game, not kill, and b.) Dexter has the ability to release all currently arrested players from jail up to three times throughout the game. The only thing that converts the independents is if the player with the role of Deb uses her ability and targets an independent player.
@All Players: There's also a change to Deb's ability. It was brought to my attention that it's worded that if Deb targets Lumen first, she converts Lumen. But Lumen knows Dexter's identity which makes the pro-town win condition easier. Therefore, the change becomes, if Deb targets Lumen first, nothing happens; if she targets Dexter, they're both converted to pro-town at the same time.
@Angel325girl: No. The anti-town party does not get two kills or a kill AND a conversion if the pro-town party gets Boyd because he is only arrested. If a death occurs, the role will be revealed; if an arrest occurs, you will only learn the identity of the arrested player because that player can re-enter the game and it would be unfair to them if their role were revealed.
@All Players 2: To satisfy me about my first rule change where nobody can impersonate Quinn by PM, whenever somebody gets a PM from somebody claiming to be Quinn, please forward the PM to me so that I can confirm Quinn's identity.
That's the answers to any questions I saw that weren't answered by other players or the person who originally asked. If I missed anything, please let me know.
tiffily - January 6, 2011 10:36 PM (GMT)
So I have an idea... or parts of one anyway.
I'm gonna tell you ya'll once i figure out how to word it becuase I don't think that saying it well benifit the antis.
