Title: Big Bad
Description: Who do you guys think it is?
privateparts - December 14, 2010 06:07 PM (GMT)
Doesn't look like there is a Bad Guy for this season is there?
S1+2 = Azazel/Yellow Eyes
Season 3 + 4 = Lilith/Ruby
Season 5 = Lucifer
Season 6 = Crowley... but not anymore?
I think they will bring Crowley back, his death just seemed way too easy and he is such a delightful character, I don't think the writers would dispose of him just yet. The whole Purgatory storyline revolved around him as well...
Other candidates:
Raphael
Balthazar
Meg
Death
Grandpa
GermanFan - December 15, 2010 01:55 PM (GMT)
I agree.
The death of Crowley came as quite a surprise to me (an I think a lot of you too) and was waaaay to qick and unsatisfying...
After all, he is the one other character besides Gabriel I really liked; they just where unique characters and I digged their style XD
Maybe Meg will be the Big Bad in Hell...after all, she is the only high rank demon leftover so far...
With Crowley dead, Samuel has no reason to play the demon bitch further...no one can bring Mary back...at least so far as we know...
I also think the plot will now turn to the civil war in heaven, with Raphael the Big Bad, Balthazars role unknown and Sam struggeling with his tortured soul...
alysha - December 16, 2010 12:54 AM (GMT)
I am hoping that Raphael is the big bad. I would say in S5 it was also Zach and Michael who were bad,. just more subtle.
Kyle - December 17, 2010 07:17 PM (GMT)
Samuel might be a bit ticked off at the boys and Castiel for destroying his only chance of bringing back Mary so he could become a large poisonous thorn in their sides.
Right now I'll choose Raphael to be the new big bad since we have no clue who's going to be top dog in Hell, Meg notwithstanding cause we don't know who might be higher up the food chain than her.
Raphael might take a bit longer to appear since he has to convince some poor person to become his new meatsuit - imagine that conversation:
Prospective meatsuit - "So what happened to your former 'vessel'?"
Raphael - "He was turned into a pillar of salt."
Prospective meatsuit - :o  "Uh, thanks but no thanks...I..I'm on a low salt diet so..." <runs away>
Raphael - "Balls!! Not again!"
Angel325girl - December 17, 2010 08:24 PM (GMT)
I think it will be Raphael but I do wonder about Samuel only because Crowley wanted the alphas to know where limbo is or whatever they called it was. Now that he's dead will Samuel continue to look for this place or grab the alphas? It seems like that door closed once Crowley died but there has to be some kind of back door or catch to the story.
sammy22 - December 17, 2010 09:36 PM (GMT)
I've been thinking about this. I've narrowed it down to Death, Samual, and Raphael.
I think Death had something to do with Crowley and purogatory after that last episode. Just something he said.
Raphael is mad about the way the apocolipes ended and if I remember right he wanted to kind of "start over" or something like that. The more I think about it though the less I think he will be the main big bad. He'll just be a treat. And like Kyle said, it may take a while for him to come back. He needs to look for another vessel.
Samual I just don't trust. Not sure I really like him either. I want to I guess since he is Sam and Dean's grandpa, but I don't. And how quickly he turned on them. I think he is up to something more then what he has let on.
So that's most of my reasons. Meg I think is going to be like the Meg in every other season. Just a pain in the boys ass.
jensensgirl89 - December 18, 2010 12:48 AM (GMT)
I think, though I sincerely hope not, that Crowley is gone. I think Samuel has a good chance, but I don't think he's desperate enough yet (unless a demon coerces him into possession to bring Mary back). I don't think Meg... I think the writers are wanting to bring someone back from the past and so they throw her into extremely random episodes but this new Meg is just not working. It's either Nicki or no Meg period for me. Raphael...perhaps. I don't see an angel as being the big and bad this season. I think maybe he'll be more like Zach and Michael were; in the background but not really there. I believe Balthazar will be more friend than foe.
So, and if any of you know me, but prolly not since I don't really hang out in this section, I will, once again, voice my want of EVIL. SAM. I feel as if the fanbase was INCREDIBLY cheated last season. Aaaaaall season long they had this arc where Sam was to be Lucifer and Dean was to be Michael. Okay, I'm pissed that Dean was just thrown aside for Adam (who, in my opinion, had no place to be there. Loved the character, but he died...it seems really repetitive to keep bringing back from the dead). But I'm infuriated that Sam didn't get to be Lucifer. Probably my favorite episode of last season was The End. I don't care how many times Dean changes the future; you cannot show that kind of episode and not do anything with it. Just like you can't go on and on and on for an entire season about how the boys are supposed to play their roles and then not doing anything about it. I guess it's in Dean fashion to keep pressing to say no, so I guess I can deal with that. I cannot deal that Sam was Lucifer for HALF AN EPISODE. He was more freaked out than say yes than Dean was and then he says yes and we don't even get a full episode for him to be the Devil? Nu-uh. Not cool. My dream season for season six was Sam was possessed by Lucifer and Dean, Bobby, and Cas were out trying to find a way to save him. Not having this insane random season about Sam not having a soul. Really? In six years they can't come up with something better than his soul being trapped in Hell? Kripke said they beat the Apocalypse thing to death but they didn't. It seemed to be more in the background of the entire couple seasons than something up in front. The Apocalypse episodes seemed like the filler episodes for the Apocalypse season(s). I think they could have squeezed in the Apocalypse in another season, REALLY address it and been fine.
/mini rant over
SO with all that said, I want to see Sam lose it. I want to see a Lucifer ridden Sam. I would love for Sam's "wall" (again, really?) to fall down and have him NEED to be possessed to survive. I think the arc from last season isn't over. They've proved time and time again that Fate is real in this show. They foreshadow things ALL THE TIME and they always happen. If The End ending doesn't happen I will think a really amazing show was run into the ground. For me, it's on it's way there, and I know there is still time to save it.
/end mini rant again xD

who knows, maybe since Sam got his soul back, it'll turn him darker, angrier and down right scarier then when he was souless. lol. It could be better then possessed Sam.

I totally agree with you post.
I think we are just a few who would love to see Evil Sam.
Supernatural wouldn't just do an Episode of the End for it not to have any meaning at all.
(Like Lucifer said no matter what you do or change we will always end up here)
GermanFan - December 18, 2010 02:40 PM (GMT)
Well, actually there where two episodes with Sam as Lucifer...Remember the one where Dean travelled into the future? But I agree, for putting an entire season in the question/arc Sam/Lucifer - Dean/Michael, it was a little bit disappointing how it ended. I also always wondered, how exactly this endfight Michael/Lucifer would have worked out...I mean, it looked like they just were going to duell each other...how exactly would have destroyed that most of mankind?
Another fascinating point is the fact, that now we have three! storylines: purgatory, Heaven civil war and the soul-question mentioned ba death in the last episode...I'm exicted to see how they will combine those three lines...maybe there will be more than one Big Bad: some demon we don't know yet for the purgatory arc, Raphael for the cicil war and Death? or Balthasar? for the soul...well, that's what I think, however...
Wolfhound - December 18, 2010 04:22 PM (GMT)
Do you think it's possible to have a season without a "big bad?" Maybe there's just going to be conflict in the form of the brothers' struggles to accomplish one thing or another, if you know what I mean. Maybe each arc that's been introduced so far will all contain various enemies, but no major villain?
It's not that I want this season to be that way; Honestly, I sincerely hope it doesn't turn out like that! After the death of Crowley, though, I'm afraid it might be a possibility.
TheKrip_Keeper - December 18, 2010 05:50 PM (GMT)
I hope Death is the new evil! He's awesome and I would love to see more of him.
jensensgirl89 - December 18, 2010 10:24 PM (GMT)
I think it's possible to have a season without a big bad. That's why I didn't like season three because it wasn't definite if Ruby was evil or not and Lilith didn't play that huge a part. The big bad was more the anticipation of Dean going to Hell.
lfcgirl2, TOTALLY agree with what Lucifer said about how no matter what you do or change we will always end up here.
Angel325girl - December 19, 2010 12:22 AM (GMT)
the big bad will probably be just the strain on the brothers relationship. That seems to be the worse neither can ever get rid of. I wonder if their relationship will get better now Sam got his soul back or take a turn for the worse? *chews nails*
lfcgirl2 - December 19, 2010 02:17 AM (GMT)
From they mess with someone's Soul then you know there is going to be trouble.
There is going to be a Huge fallout through bringing Sam's Soul back.
I just wish that the show would explain things instead of adding more mystery to the show.

Dean changed the future by going back to Sam and sticking beside him and fighting with him. Not only that but we're talking Zachariah here...the most manipulative, evil angel in the whole show and you're actually going to believe what he showed Dean was the truth? When he was trying to do everything he could to get Dean to give in and say "yes"? Even if it was, Dean still altered it so Sam wouldn't be alone, so Sam wouldn't have given up and said 'yes' to Lucifer.
Even now, Sam is a hell of a lot smarter than that. The apocalypse is done, over with. No more. Lucifer's story is no more. Sera has actually said this quite a few times. It's not happening. Sam is not a big bad. Sam is not evil this season. How is it we can be reassured that everything is going to be okay between the brothers only to have Sam turn evil. That makes no sense.
GermanFan - December 19, 2010 08:20 AM (GMT)
I watched Caged Heat again and recognized something...Cas got his hands on Crowleys bones, so Crowley was cornered...why would he say so freely and quite fast, that he can't restore Sams soul, knowing he owould be cilled the instant...I think (or maybe I just really badly wish since Crowley is one of my favorites^^) he got an joker up his sleeves...otherwise he would have lied to survive a little longer...
privateparts - December 19, 2010 03:30 PM (GMT)
I am 99.9% sure Crowley is coming back. Here's why: I challenge you to find holes in my theory!
1. Crowley wants desperately to take over Purgatory.
2. We know all the monsters go to Purgatory.
3. We know humans go to heaven, or else become demons/ghosts.
4. Demons are 'ghosts with an ego', presumably, ghosts fall under the 'monster' category and go to purgatory (or Heaven).
5. Most demons were exorcised which returned them to Hell. Now that we know burning bones kills demons, they must go to Purgatory.
Therefore: Crowley went to Purgatory!
This would explain how the Purgatory story continues, why Crowley was disposed of so quickly considering how popular he is, and why Crowley was not pleading to be spared or tried to pretend that he could save Sam's soul.
What do you think?
Ozsix(sic)six - December 19, 2010 05:49 PM (GMT)
My theory is that Adam has escaped through deaths portal and he will be the next big bad. A man enduring the same torture as Sam WITHOUT a wall inside his mind would make him just down straight crazy. Also if he knew Dean left him for playground meat, His vendetta would certainly make a good case for the remaining part of the season.
And for all we know the wall inside Sam might be the only thing preventing his state, Maybe without the wall, As well as Adam, his human side would evaporate and he would be Demon?

Lol,
just this morning I thougt similar XD
Well, not exactly, but same direction...
We know humans go to heaven or hell and monsters to purgatory...but where are angels and demons going when killed? I also think purgatory might be a possibility.
But I think you're wrong about the ghost thing...
Ghost, when killed, don't go to purgatory, for they are no real "monsters" but human souls bounded to earth....after they are defeatet, they go to heaven or hell like normal...
privateparts - December 19, 2010 09:12 PM (GMT)
But demons are just humans that have been in Hell for too long. And demons are just ghosts with an ego. Since you exorcise demons to send them to Hell, where do they go when you burn their bones? They obviously don't go to Hell again.
Answer: Purgatory.
Kyelinn - December 20, 2010 12:15 AM (GMT)
privateparts is right. I was also thinking the same thing truthfully when it comes to ghosts. Most all of them are vengeful spirits who've harmed humans one way or another. So when the boys salt and burn their bones, where do they go? Purgatory. They're a supernatural creature just like any other thing that Sam and Dean fight.

I agree with you in the fact about demons as I said ;)
But I think you have to differ between ghosts and demons..."You are nothing but spirits with an ego", that was just one badass sentence Bobby said to piss off Crowley (btw I love SN for its badass speaches in every episode XD); I'm not sure how much we can rely on this as a fact...
Well, maybe I'm wrong, but my thinking is: ghosts = human souls -> human souls go to heaven or hell. Period. But, one can never know ;)
Kyelinn - December 20, 2010 09:03 AM (GMT)
It might've been a smartass comment made by Bobby but demons are literally corrupted, evil spirits or ghosts. Why do you think their true form topside is just black smoke and not something corporeal? Demons ARE human souls because they used to BE human before they became a demon. Sadly, they're a terribly corrupted, tainted, ruined, human soul, but they are still a human soul. They're just not human anymore. Hell burnt away their humanity turning them to what they are now. Their bones can be burnt just like a ghost's bones can be burnt. They die the exact same way a ghost does when their remains are burnt. So in truth, a demon is nothing more than just a seriously corrupted, evil ghost who has forgotten it's humanity.
privateparts - December 20, 2010 10:27 AM (GMT)
Humans go to Heaven Hell or Purgatory. They don't just go to either Heaven or Hell...
Think about it, most of the monsters that we know go to Purgatory. They are all humans, or were humans, before being corrupted into either werewolf's or vampires or ghosts or whatever.
Also Ash said in Dark Side of the Moon that John and Mary Winchester weren't in Heaven or Hell. So obviously they must be in Purgatory. Hence why Grandpa was working with Crowley, he wants Purgatory too, because he wants to get his daughter out. It's all rather obvious really.
Supernatural_Fan_1983 - December 21, 2010 09:00 PM (GMT)
I think Crowley isn't coming back because the actor who plays him, Mark Sheppard, tends to play guest spots of numerous shows and may now be unavailable. Honestly, I hope he is done. I want to see if their is mystery big bad we never heard of hiding in the shadows.
jayqz - January 30, 2011 02:28 AM (GMT)
I dont think theres anyway chance of Death being the new bad guy because simply he is Death no one can do anything to stop him he would just kill everybody with the snap of his finger tips... remember even God can die people atleast thats what death said
and I really want to see God on the show we have seen everybody but him haha wonder how his vessel would look
privateparts - January 30, 2011 03:18 AM (GMT)
Presumably God wouldn't need a vessel. But you never know with this show. I thought they were doing the Judeo-Christian take on angels and God and stuff but the Judeo-Christian God can't die. So they are probably just doing their one-of-a-kind Supernatural God.

annan - January 30, 2011 05:39 AM (GMT)
i'm kind of leaning with those who think the big bad is actually the "mother" who created the alphas in the first place.
think it's about time we had a female baddie.
not that we haven't seen evil females, but they were just minions. i'd like to see the big bad be one nasty b***h. :D
Raven524 - January 30, 2011 07:19 PM (GMT)
I've actually conjectured it is the greek "mother of monsters' who tried to kill Hercules after he killed her children. They could put a twist on that legend.
I also originally thought it might be Meg, but I guess she isn't big enough.
:shrug
Allie Padalecki - January 31, 2011 05:30 PM (GMT)
I have a theory. What if Lilith is the "mother"? The vampire Alpha mentioned a Mother in episode 7 and we know that Lilith is considered in many versions as the first mother.
But she is dead. She was killed by Sam. So, what big bad can replace her? Maybe a man, maybe someone who is considered Lucifer himself in many versions, maybe someone who is told to be Lilith "Husband" and the prince of all demons.
I'm talking about Samael. Samael is also represented as a snake.
Samael is also represented as the angel of death or the Antichrist.
"Another version establishes Lilith as the first of Samael's four wives...Each of them are mothers of demons... The marriage of archangel Samael and Lilith was arranged by "Blind Dragon", who is the counterpart of "the dragon that is in the sea". Blind Dragon acts as an intermediary between Lilith and Samael..."
"... And this Blind Dragon brings about the union between Samael and Lilith... Samael is called the Slant Serpent, and Lilith is called the Tortuous Serpent"
[We also have a snake represented in Sam's arm in one promotional photo of season six]
"... Samael and Lilith were born as one, similar to the form of Adam and Eve who were also born as one...The Matron Lilith is the mate of Samael. Both of them were born at the same hour in the image of Adam and Eve, intertwined in each other."
Sources, among many others:
Lilith & Samael Samael and Lilith There are plenty of information about this couple in internet.
The spoilers about the new Big Bad mentionded that he will be compared to some other vilains of previous seasons. I think Samael would give a very good villain. He is strong enough to be compared to Lilith Herself and even Lucifer or Azazel.
Just a theory ;)
Jamieo_0 - January 31, 2011 08:01 PM (GMT)
Allie, I feel I must reject your suggestion on the sheer basis that that is just far too many "Sams" for one season. No, I'm only kidding...that could be plausible.
Allie Padalecki - February 2, 2011 05:46 PM (GMT)
Khu - February 4, 2011 01:12 AM (GMT)
I think that's a fascinating theory, Alle Padalecki. It makes perfect sense to me that the writers would make Lilith what she is in lore--the mother of all monsters. That would open the way to an interesting revenge plot, with the alphas going after the Winchesters.
But, as Jamieo points out, it could cause confusion if the writers were to use the name, "Samael." So maybe Lilith's husband will be Asmodeus. He's also known in some lore as Samael, as well as Satan.
One source says, "Asmodeus... is the undisputed king of the demons in Hebrew lore." Monstrous in appearance, he's known for his wrath and revenge. And "it has been said that he is husband of Lilith, the queen of the demons."
I really hope the writers follow lore by making Lilith the mother of all demons and making her husband a really big bad. I'd just rather they call him Asmodeus than Samael. I'm REALLY tired of our Sam being associated with demons.
Speaking of Lilith, did you see "Case 39"? The little girl is called Lilly or Lilith. I thought it was a good movie, with some obvious similarities to 3.22.
