INT. WHITE HOUSE - WEST WING OFFICE - NIGHT

The President looks out over the fresh cut green grass. Agrialept stands behind him. Alex stands watch, off to the side, alongside Felix.

AGRIALEPT
It’s time.

Reynolds turns to face him, he nods, then faces Felix.

REYNOLDS
Turn it off. Throw the world into oblivion.

FELIX
It will be my pleasure.

Felix leaves.

INT. WHITE HOUSE - HALLS - NIGHT

Felix walks through the halls, he passes Christopher Carter on the way. Christopher’s eyes track Felix.

INT. WHITE HOUSE - WEST WING OFFICE - NIGHT

Agrialept is gone. Alex approaches Reynolds, he picks up a rubber ball and tosses it into the air.

ALEX
You should have seen his face, Sam’s falling apart. I can see it. He’ll be ours in no time.

REYNOLDS
He didn’t accept Dantalion’s offer.

ALEX
Plan B?

REYNOLDS
Revenge is a powerful weapon.

Alex turns a light on and off, he smirks.

ALEX
Y2K on acid. Should be fun.

REYNOLDS
Go back to your post.

Alex stops, then closes in on Reynolds.

ALEX
You know, you can stop the whole act. You may have a different mother, but we’re on the same playing field.

REYNOLDS
No, we’re not. Now go resume your post.

Alex mockingly salutes.

ALEX
As you wish, sir.

Alex snaps his fingers and disappears. The fireplace crackles. Reynolds turns to stare into it. A wide grin spreads across his face.

REYNOLDS
It’s all coming together Dad, the moment of reckoning is here.

Reynolds steals a glance towards the door, open at a crack. He rapidly approaches, moves his hand. The door swings open to reveal - nobody. Reynolds frowns.

INT. WHITE HOUSE - HALLS - NIGHT

Christopher Carter hurries through, he equips his cell phone. Eyes darting around, sweat drips from his face. Karla answers.

KARLA (O.C.)
Hello?

Christopher leans against a crevice, out of sight.

CHRISTOPHER
It’s here...

Christopher glances behind his back, not being followed. Eyes darting around, on edge.

ACT ONE


INT. HOTEL ROOM - NIGHT

Sam sits on his bed, staring off into the distance. Eyes stained with tears. He exhales, leans over, buries his head in his arms.

EXT. HOTEL - NIGHT

Dean leans against the wall of the hotel. The SYRINGE PLUNGES IN. Black oozes along his veins. His eyes dilate, narrow and redden. A smirk spreads across his face.

Behind him THREE GANG MEMBERS, in their early twenties, walk through the parking lot. Drunk. Holding bats. Making a lot of noise. They approach the Impala.

GANG 1
Check out this dented piece of $hit, yo.

Dean turns towards them, teeth clench as he sees the gang members approaching his car. He starts to breathe heavily, he CHARGES in their direction.

GANG MEMBER 2 holds a METALLIC BAT, ready to hit the Impala. Dean GRABS the bat. He SLAMS it against Gang Member 2. Gang Member 2 is knocked out, blood sprays.

The Gang Members back away afraid. Dean nears them, rage overtaking.

DEAN
Who’s next?

GANG MEMBER 3 unconsciously places his hand against the Impala. Dean notices, then approaches, threateningly.

DEAN (CONT’D)
I thought so.

Dean tosses the bat aside, grabs Gang Member 3 by his arm. CRACK. Twists his body around and slams him against the pavement. To add insult to injury, Dean slams his foot hard against his face.

GANG MEMBER 1
Man, relax, we don’t want any trouble. We’ll leave.

DEAN
That’s the thing. I do want trouble.

Dean reaches into his pocket and pulls out a DAGGER. Gang Member 1 backs away. Dean grins as he tosses the blade from hand to hand. Closes the distance. Kicks him to the ground.

GANG MEMBER 1
Please man, don’t.

DEAN
You should hear yourself right now.

Gang Member 1 notices someone out of the corner of his eyes. Dean goes in for the kill. The dagger FLIES out of his hand. Dean smirks, turns around to face Sam.

DEAN (CONT’D)
Sammy boy, what do you think you’re doing?

Sam telepathically SLAMS Dean up against the Impala. Looks towards the cowering Gang Member.

SAM
Go.

The Gang Member runs off. Dean laughs, looks up at Sam.

DEAN
Just like you, rather side with a criminal than your own brother.

SAM
You were going to kill him.

DEAN
So what if I was? You gonna hurt me... Samuel?

Sam lets go of his hold.

SAM
You know I’m not. You’re drunk Dean.

DEAN
No, I’ve given up on that a long time ago.

Sam turns to walk back, trying to calm down.

DEAN (CONT’D)
Only way you can win now is you’ve got devil powers.

SAM
What’s gotten into you?

Dean smirks, wipes his hand through his hair. Sniffles. Rubs his eyes.

DEAN
I could ask you the same question. I’m facing reality. What are--

SAM
No you’re not, you’re just running away.

Dean mockingly laughs.

SAM (CONT’D)
What?

DEAN
What do you think you’re doing? Acting like everything is okay? Like the world isn’t coming to an end? Come off of your f***ing high horse!

Dean gets up, starts to walk away.

SAM
Where are you going?

Dean turns back to face Sam.

DEAN
Away from you. I don’t need your pity, especially when it’s coming from a hypocrite.

Dean walks away. Sam watches on at a loss.

INT. ABANDONED BUILDING - BASEMENT - NIGHT

A man sits strapped to a chair, a bag tied over his head. A prisoner of war. Two men in suits approach, one takes off the bag revealing a middle aged ROGER.

Roger frantically looks back at forth between the two men, RHODES and GATES. Rhodes is discouraged, Gates smirks taking in his prey.

GATES
Relax, this is going to be really easy.

ROGER
This is against the law, I know my rights! You can’t do this to me!

GATES
By who’s orders? Ours come directly from the President of the United States.

Roger gulps, afraid, leans back. Sweat pours.

GATES (CONT’D)
Did you know you aided an escaped fugitive?

ROGER
What are you talking about?

Gates motions to Rhodes.

GATES
Show him.

Rhodes takes out the photograph of Dean Winchester.

GATES (CONT’D)
Look familiar?

Roger inhales, eyes dart back and forth between the two men. He shakes his head.

ROGER
Never seen him before.

GATES
Wrong answer. I didn’t come here to play games Roger and I certainly don’t appreciate your lack of respect. So, here’s how it’s going to go. You refuse to answer a question...
(Motions to a lie detector)
Or you lie to us again. You’re a dead man.

Gates holds up a cord and flips a switch. An electric shock is sent through the chair, wires and into Roger. Roger screams in agony. Rhodes winces.

GATES (CONT’D)
Now, tell us everything you know.

Roger frantically nods his head.

ROGER
He was losing his mind. Started ranting about how everyone was going to die, that it was the end of the world. He spoke about Demons.

GATES
Who was he working for?

Roger goes quiet, unsure if he should answer.

ROGER
I don’t know.

GATES
Wrong answer.

Gates smirks as he leans in closer as the electric charge whams into Roger. Roger screams. Tears flow down his face.

GATES (CONT’D)
Let’s try again. Who was he working for?

Roger exhales, at a loss. Looks back up at Gates. Gates smirks. Rhodes steps back.

INT. HOTEL ROOM - NIGHT

Sam paces around the room on the phone. Moves the blinds away, looks out. No signs of Dean.

SAM
(More to himself)
What would Reynolds have to gain?

KARLA (O.S.)
I don’t know.

SAM
Karla, thanks.

KARLA (O.S.)
Sure thing.

Sam hangs up, lifts the phone and dials.

INTER-CUT WITH:
INT. BOBBY’S CABIN - NIGHT

Bobby places a shotgun down on the table. The phone rings, he approaches and answers it.

BOBBY
Hello?

SAM
Bobby, it’s Sam.

BOBBY
It’s good to hear from you boy, how’s things going with you and your brother?

SAM
It’s complicated. I really need your help Bobby.

BOBBY
What is it?

SAM
Just heard in word from a contact that the whole world is going to black out within a matter of hours.

BOBBY
Sounds an awful lot like the fourth trumpet.

Bobby moves over to a stack of books, he grabs the BIBLE, opens it and flips to THE BOOK OF REVELATIONS. He scans the pages, then finds what he’s looking for.

BOBBY (CONT’D)
“A third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.” There’s seven according to scripture. The sixth being the final one before Belzebub and his army of darkness climbs up from their depths in hell.

SAM
That means it’s --

BOBBY
Coming, the storm is on it’s way. The final countdown.

Off Sam’s worried look.

EXT. BROKEN DOWN STREETS - NIGHT

Dean walks through a dark and gritty neighborhood, hands stuffed in his pockets. His eyes dart around. He takes a right into a darkened alley.

BOBBY (O.S.)
How is Dean doing?

Dean leans against the wall of the alley, tears flow down his face. He bangs his fist against the wall. Angry. Trying to stop.

SAM (O.S.)
I’m losing him, I don’t know what’s going on anymore.

BOBBY (O.S.)
Been drinking?

Dean PUNCHES himself in the face, strains, forces himself to stop crying. Dean takes out a small BLACK CANVAS BAG. Opens it, pulls out a STRAPPED CORD and SYRINGE.

SAM (O.S.)
Doesn’t want to admit it, but it’s definitely catching up to him.

Dean pulls the cord around his arm, fastens it tighter.

BOBBY (O.S.)
Just like his father.

Dean ties it around, bites off the end. Taps the syringe.

SAM (O.S.)
Dad was an alcoholic? I never knew that.

BOBBY (O.S.)
Where do you think Dean got it from? It’s an easy way out, makes you forget until the fall.

Dean stares at the syringe, contemplating. Guilty.

INT. HOTEL ROOM - NIGHT

Sam leans against the wall, listening in worried.

BOBBY (O.C.)
Whatever you do, be careful around him. Under the influence he’s not your brother anymore, he’s not in control.

Sam moves the blinds away, looks out.

EXT. BROKEN DOWN STREETS - NIGHT

Dean INJECTS the syringe.

BOBBY (O.S.)
The toxin is.

Dean exhales, a huge smirk spreads across his face. Relief. Gregory Pines appears across from him, shakes his head at a loss.

GREGORY
What are you doing to yourself?

Dean pushes his way past him, continues down the alley. Gregory follows.

DEAN
Don’t you have any more important things to deal with?

GREGORY
You don’t think you’re worth the time?

DEAN
I know I’m not.

Dean enters an abandoned building.

INT. ABANDONED BUILDING - NIGHT

The building is falling apart around it’s seams, graffiti covers the walls. Dean walks through, ignoring Gregory.

GREGORY
Stop running away.

DEAN
Just like Sam, acting like you’re all high and mighty. But your boss is the greatest jack ass of all.

GREGORY
You don’t mean that.

DEAN
No?

Dean turns around to face him. Beyond furious.

DEAN (CONT’D)
Look around you! Look at the world he’s given us! Where is he? This is the work of your God.

GREGORY
That’s blasphemy.

DEAN
Bite me.

Dean turns and continues on. Gregory follows.

GREGORY
You know that’s not the answer, you’re above it. What would your Dad think?

DEAN
That’s unfair, using him against me.

GREGORY
You’re a fighter Dean, rise up and fight!

DEAN
I don’t have anything to fight for.

GREGORY
What about the people you used to dedicate your life to protect.

DEAN
What about them? They caused this, they brought this on themselves. f*** the world.

GREGORY
You don’t mean that.

DEAN
Yeah, I do. Now get the hell away from me, watcher.

Gregory disappears. Dean spins around, finds that he’s alone. He scans the area, conflicted... scared.

EXT. NEW YORK CITY STREETS - NIGHT

Police sirens WHIRL. Police cars are parked outside of a riot outside of a ran down electronic store. Rioters throw flaming bottles and steal equipment.

Kate takes in the area, the whirlwind of chaos. BILL, a rookie cop, approaches on edge. Sweat pours from his forehead.

BILL
I can’t stand this city, everybody thinking they can get away with anything they want.

KATE
It’s not really that new.

Kate walks through the line of police officers, Bill follows close behind having difficulty keeping up.

BILL
Ever wonder what it would be like?

KATE
What would be like?

BILL
Giving in too, whatever that means.

Kate stops, turns to face him.

KATE
What are you talking about?

Bill shrugs it off.

BILL
Just everybody gets away with everything these days. Maybe we can too.

KATE
That wouldn’t make you any better than them. We do our job, that’s it.

BILL
You’re living in the past Kate, we can’t work like that anymore. Or at least, I can’t. I’ve had enough of this hell.

Bill scowls and walks off. Kate watches the rioters, suddenly one SPRINGS upon her. Kate backs away. The RIOTER grins.

RIOTER
Iblis will set us free!

The Rioter maniacally laughs as he takes off back towards the mass chaos. Kate watches on, taken aback.

INT. ABANDONED BUILDING - BASEMENT - NIGHT

The lights overhead blink on and off. Rhodes stares at Roger’s corpse horrified. Gates smirks.

RHODES
You didn’t have to kill him.

Gates turns, starts packing their equipment.

RHODES (CONT’D)
He told us all he knew.

GATES
Exactly. He had nothing left to offer.

RHODES
So, you killed him?

Gates turns to face Rhodes, eyes cold, a shark taking in it’s prey.

GATES
Are you with me or are you against me, Rhodes? It’s a simple question. If you’re not with me, then you must surely be against me.

RHODES
I just don’t agree with your methods.

GATES
But, the President does and that’s what counts. If you’re not going to let me do my job, I’ll need to get rid of any hindrances in the way. Do you understand?

RHODES
Was that a threat?

Gates laughs, pats Rhodes on the back.

GATES
Don’t challenge me and you’ll live a long healthy life. Now go decompose of our friend Roger.

Rhodes turns his attention back towards the rotting corpse, at a loss.

INT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - NIGHT

Slowly pan through the halls of the police department. The cubicles are empty. The lights are off. At the far right side is Kate at her office, staring down at a phone.

INT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - KATE’S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

Kate reaches for the phone and dials.

INTER-CUT WITH:
EXT. DECRYPT STREET - NIGHT

Dean stumbles through, his cell phone rings. He answers.

DEAN
What now?

KATE
Dean, is that you?

Dean grimaces, exhales.

DEAN
I thought you said you were done with me, Kate. That you couldn’t handle me anymore.

KATE
I didn’t, we were under pressure. I didn’t mean it.

DEAN
No? Why'd you call Kate? Pull in and release whenever you need my help?

KATE
What’s going on?

DEAN
Don’t bother, wouldn’t want to drag you down even further. Just tell me what you want.

Kate leans over her desk, heart broken. It pains her to see Dean this way.

Dean leans against a building, lost. He lowers his head ashamed.

DEAN (CONT’D)
Kate?

KATE
I think it’s a demon. It’s taking over New York City. Causing people to riot. His name is Ib--

STATIC. The phone cuts in and out. The Inter-cut dies out. Dean scans the area as the street lamps blink on and off. Everywhere the power starts to breakdown and shut off.

DEAN
Kate, are you there? Kate?

The street lamps shut off, leaving Dean in total darkness.

INT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - KATE’S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

Kate hangs up the phone, leans over the desk. On edge.

EXT. RIKERS ISLAND - NIGHT

The asylum rests calmly, suddenly the lights and power starts to power down.

INT. RIKERS ISLAND - PRISONER HALLS - NIGHT

The cell doors slowly click open, allowing the inmates a way out.

EXT. NEW YORK CITY STREETS - NIGHT

Cars drive along the busy New York City streets as the traffic lights malfunction creating several car crashes in it’s wake.

EXT. NEW YORK CITY - SUBWAY SYSTEM - NIGHT

A subway car SPEEDS through, lights flashing, suddenly it SCREECHES to a halt. The lights power down. Deformed figures, hunched over, approach the subway car chanting.

INT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - KATE’S OFFICE - NIGHT

Kate’s trance is broken by the sound of GUN SHOTS going off. Kate slowly gets up from her desk, opens a drawer, pulls out her gun and loads it. Grabs a flashlight.

Kate sneaks towards the exit and checks around the corner for any sign. No one. She continues on her way.

INT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - STAIRWAY - NIGHT

Kate slowly walks down the stairs, flashlight held steadily in front of her. She notices blood running down the stairs and a bloody handprint stained across the door handle. She grabs it, opens the door and walks through.

INT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - LOBBY - NIGHT

Kate shines the flashlight around, taking in the area. She spots a ROTTING CORPSE of a dead policeman. She approaches. A figure rushes past behind her. Kate turns. Nothing.

KATE
Who’s there?

Kate approaches the area she last spot the figure. It creeps up from behind her, Kate spins around. Shines the light upon his face to reveal Bill covered in blood.

KATE (CONT’D)
Bill?

Bill grins, looks down at the gun in his hands.

BILL
Here it was the world coming to an end and I realized, I never killed anybody. Two years on the job and I never killed anyone. It was more exciting than I thought.

Bill points the gun at Kate.

BILL (CONT’D)
I wonder what the third time will feel like.

BANG!

Kate fires first, Bill falls to the floor. Bleeding. Eyes blinking. Kate collects his gun.

KATE
I’ll come back for you.

Kate nears the front double entry doors of the lobby, pushes them both open to see mass chaos and mayhem. A man made Hell on Earth.

EXT. GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE - NIGHT

MUSIC CUE: "LONDON CALLING" THE CLASH


The Impala drives over the bridge nearing the blacked out city ahead. The sight has a certain Gothic forboding presence.

EXT. CITY STREETS - NIGHT

Travel through seeing cars lit on fire. Teenagers breaking into electronic stores and stealing equipment.

INT. ELECTRONIC STORE - CONTINUOUS

Teenagers pack anything they can into their backpacks. Others have fun smashing and destroying everything in sight.

Two guys reach for the same I-Phone, the last one, they pull on either end of it. Neither giving in. Suddenly, one pulls out a gun - BANG!

EXT. CITY STREETS - NIGHT

Prostitutes and drug dealers walk the streets. Customers ranging from teens to the elderly.

EXT. TIMES SQUARE - NIGHT

Men fighting. People rioting. Mass carnage, mayhem, and chaos all around. The only lights cast upon the scene emanate from the burning flames of scorching fires.

EXT. CITY STREETS - NIGHT

On another side of the city the Impala drives through. Dean and Sam look out their windows as they take in the scene. Beside a cathedral, a PEDOPHILE ELDERLY PRIEST checks out a PRE-TEENAGE BOY searching for his next high.

EXT. SUBWAY SYSTEMS - NIGHT

Pitch black. Through a night vision lens, we see a pack of deformed homeless people, MOLE MEN, can be seen ripping corpses of dead subway car passengers apart and feasting on their flesh.

EXT. DECAYING CHURCH - NIGHT

The streets are rampant with violence. A couple of drunk teenagers throw alcohol bottles at the church.

INT. DECAYING CHURCH - NIGHT

Inside families gather around, sitting in the pews praying, clutching onto each other searching for hope.

EXT. NEW YORK CITY STREETS - NIGHT

The Impala passes by. A man runs out into the middle of the road, the Impala barrels into him knocking the man aside.

INT. IMPALA - CONTINUOUS

Dean keeps his eyes trained forward, he brushes aside a nervous tick. Eyes are blood shot red.
Sam looks out the window, surveying the city streets in despair. “Cause is London is drowning.”

INT. SEWER SYSTEM - NIGHT

A figure creeps along an ancient underground sewer system holding out a cigarette lighter. As the figure drawers nearer, he’s revealed to be FATHER SUAZO.

INT. UNDERGROUND LAIR - NIGHT

Torches align the walls engulfing the halls in a flickery fiery glow. Cob webs hang from the ceilings. Upside down crosses mark the walls.

Father Suazo walks through, he takes a GUN out of his overcoat pocket and keeps his eyes trained ahead of him. As he nears the end of the hall he spots a MAN strapped to an altar stained with blood.

Suazo inspects the markings spread across the table. Ancient symbols. Latin. Suazo traces his fingers across the carvings.

Three separate archway halls lead in his direction. A figure quickly rushes through one of the corridors. Suazo turns in it’s direction. Suddenly, more and more fast moving figures and echoes of feet moving. Surrounding him. Suazo scans the premises, hands trained on his gun.

BLACK ROBED SATANISTS close in on him from all sides. Suazo fires off a shot. Misses. The Satanists move in swift and fast. Engulfing him in a blur of fury.

INT. WHITE HOUSE - OVAL OFFICE - NIGHT

Reynolds reclines in his chair while reading the Book of Revelations. Felix enters. Reynolds places the book aside.

REYNOLDS
Do you know that this is the closest I’ve ever got to knowing my father? I haven’t even seen his face, but somehow I feel like I’m his son.

FELIX
You are his son.

Reynolds sighs, nods and gets out from behind his desk.

REYNOLDS
Just wish I could know for certain whether or not I’m still on the right path.

FELIX
You are, trust me, the plans are working beyond beautifully. Your father would be proud.

REYNOLDS
What can you tell me about him?

FELIX
He’s a lot like you. Strong, brave, noble. He’s a great leader. I would follow him to the death. Very, very meticulous, I mean - he would have to be, the whole plan was set in notion way, way, long before Christ was even born.

REYNOLDS
How is our progress coming along?

FELIX
Everything’s going according to plan.

Reynolds nods, exhales, looks back at Felix and grins.

EXT. TIMES SQUARE - NIGHT

The Winchesters walk through Times Square as they close in on the center they see more and more chaos unfolding before them. Dean clenches his teeth and shakes his head in anger.

DEAN
This is exactly what I mean. The world has a deadline, everything goes to hell.

SAM
It doesn’t have to be that way.

Dean scowls, he SLAMS Sam up against the nearest building.

DEAN
I’ve just about had it with you and your false delusions. You think I want it this way? You’re wrong. But, that’s all there is. The sooner you wake up from this little dream of yours, the better. The world is ending, it’s been ending ever since... I can’t even remember, before Dad died.

Suddenly GUNFIRE erupts in the middle of the streets. Dean shoves Sam off to the side, Sam hits the pavement.

DEAN (CONT’D)
God damn it! When the f*** are they going to learn?!

Dean hurries into the flood of people. Sam regains composure, stands and looks into the swarm of rioters. Dean is nowhere in sight.

INT. HOLDING CHAMBERS - NIGHT

Father Suazo slowly opens and blinks his eyes, he sees the ground stretched out before him. He slowly rises to his feet, aches all over. He’s trapped within a caged cell.

Suazo approaches the bars, grabs hold, pulls on them. Nothing. He leans his head against the cell in defeat. Suddenly he catches the shadow of a figure approaching from the end of the hall. He looks up, eyes widen.

EXT. TIMES SQUARE - NIGHT

A mob of people violently attacking each other. Every man for himself, ranging from late teens to middle aged. Within the flurry, Dean can be seen STABBING someone with a dagger. He swings to the other side,ready to strike.

INT. HOLDING CHAMBERS - NIGHT

FATHER LEVI nears Suazo, holding his calm and elegant presence in a regal black robe.

LEVI
Are you surprised to see me, old friend?

SUAZO
We were never friends. I should have known you would betray us.

LEVI
I remember when I got you excommunicated, that was my finest hour.

SUAZO
What do you stand to gain from this?

LEVI
What do I stand not to gain? The world is ending. You were right about that all along. But, do you really think God can do anything to save you?

SUAZO
The path of the righteous leads us to our salvation.

LEVI
And though I may walk through the valley of death, I fear no evil - because evil, what he wants us to see as evil is just child stories contrived to keep us in line.

SUAZO
This is not the answer. Humanity still has a chance.

LEVI
Humanity? You dare speak to me about humanity? Look around you. Your humanity is what started this war. The devil stood by while he watched mankind destroy the one true beautiful creation in this world. And for what? Fast food joints, bars, strip clubs - highways?! He gave you a chance at the perfect Garden of Eden and man treated it like trash.

SUAZO
You’re showing sympathy for the devil? He defied God!

LEVI
No, he loved God too much. He knew what was going to happen, he saw it, predicted it, stood ready for the perfect moment where he can finally press the reset button. He saw mankind as it really was - mud monkeys. Beings created from clay that couldn’t take care of themselves let alone the world.

EXT. TIMES SQUARE - NIGHT

Sam slowly approaches the crowd, behind him a man throws a flaming bottle through an electronic store window. The fire expands and shoots straight out.

LEVI (V.O.)
But, God? He gave us free will, he gave us paradise and look at the state the world’s fallen into.

Sam finally spots Dean fighting back. Almost getting a certain sense of satisfaction from it. He watches on in horror.

SUAZO (V.O.)
They just need a shove in the right direction, they need hope, they need a leader.

Dean locks eyes with Sam, he hurries to blend back into the crowd. Sam exhales, looks away.

INT. HOLDING CHAMBERS - NIGHT

Levi smirks as he leans in towards Suazo.

LEVI
And who is that going to be? You? There is no hope, Suazo. But, Belzebub - he offers us that. Those who follow him, see him as their one true God, will be saved persecution when he takes over.

SUAZO
You’re leading people to sin.

LEVI
We’re testing them, final judgment. You know, it’s all in the bible. Misinterpretations, but the basic story’s the same. He will come to judge the living and the dead.

SUAZO
God is the ultimate judge.

LEVI
God knows nothing. You remember what he was like in the old days? Those who didn’t bow down and worship him were wiped out. Anyone who tried to challenge him were thrown across the globe and given different tongues. He was prepared to teach man how to obey him, but he lost his way. Became forgiving. He’s starting to change, going back to his old self. Olympus Colorado was proof enough of that. But, it’s too late. Father like son, he spent too much of his time taking in recluses. The sinful, old hags, prostitutes, common criminals. He had his chance, he failed.

SUAZO
Jesus saw hope, that these people - they can be saved.

EXT. TIMES SQUARE - NIGHT

Dean nears a teenage guy holding a rifle. Swiftly moves to get behind him.

LEVI (V.O.)
They’ve been tested, they’ve been pushed and rather than rallying together they fell apart.

Dean SLICES the teenager’s neck. Blood spills. He retrieves the rifle. Pumps the gauge.

LEVI (V.O.) (CONT’D)
They gave in to their deepest darkest desires. That’s what happens when you push a man to his breaking point.

Dean spins in every direction, taking in random shots. Several civilians spring upon him in a mad furry, reaching for the gun.

LEVI (V.O.) (CONT’D)
He doesn’t see past the horizon. He can’t. He loses control. He loses himself.

Blood splatters across Dean’s face, he smirks, eyes narrow.

INT. HOLDING CHAMBERS - NIGHT

Levi nears the exit, stops, looks back at Suazo.

LEVI
These people? They’re beyond redemption.

SUAZO
I will prove you wrong.

LEVI
No, you won’t. Because you are wrong - mankind is inherently weak. The world needs to be cleansed. Inside, you already know that. You can see it. It’s a losing battle. The devil has already won.

A wide grin spreads across Levi’s face, clearly taking sadistic joy over capturing Suazo.

EXT. ALLEY - NIGHT

Rhodes and Gates walk along a narrow alley. Suddenly a phone rings. Gates equips his cell phone.

GATES
Gates speaking... You don’t say... They’re here?... I’ll see what I can do.

Gates hangs up and pockets the phone. Rhode watches on in confusion.

RHODE
You have reception?

GATES
Courtesy of the President of the United States.

RHODES
How does he have power?

Gates slightly chuckles, turns towards Rhodes with the look of a shark wanting to eliminate it’s target.

GATES
If I were you, I wouldn’t challenge your supreme commander and chief. Never know what might happen to you on the other side of those waters.

Gates threateningly winks in a way that reads, “I’ll kill you.” Rhodes doesn’t push it any further.

EXT. TIMES SQUARE - NIGHT

SLAM! The butt of a rifle SMASHES against a man’s face, blood spills as he hits the ground. Standing behind him is Dean holding the gun. Dean aims, BANG! The man’s head rips in two. Blood splatters across Dean’s face.

Dean looks back up to see Sam standing at a distance watching. Eyes portraying little to no emotion. Dean turns to get back into the fight, he stops noticing another figure further off... Kate.

Kate pushes another man back, turns, locks eyes with Dean. The two are taken aback, then approach each other.

KATE
Dean? What are you doing here?

DEAN
Came here looking for you, then the whole world started to fall apart.

KATE
It’s not their fault.

Dean scans the area taking in the riots and chaos.

DEAN
The world’s ending, they’ve chosen their side.

KATE
They’re scared.

DEAN
Scared? They brought this on themselves. All those years, what were we fighting for Kate? This?

KATE
They’re being controlled or manipulated, has something to do with Iblis.

DEAN
Regardless, they gave in.

Dean exhales, surveys the area at a loss.

DEAN (CONT’D)
Doesn’t matter anyway, they’re all dead.

Dean walks off. Kate stays back, Sam approaches her.

INT. HOLDING CHAMBERS - NIGHT

Father Suazo leans against the wall of the cell, glancing up from time to time as though waiting for something. Waiting. Any second now... BOOM!

The door hinges SPARK and FLY OPEN. A team of BLACK ARMORED GUARDS swarm in SWAT POSITION. Aiming their guns around in every direction to survey the scene. On their backs reads the words: VATICAN POLICE.

VATICAN OFFICER LANDIS, middle aged, nears the caged cell and places a devise onto the bars. He presses a couple of buttons, a mist shoots out and the bars decompose.

Father Suazo springs into action, leaving his confines behind.

SUAZO
Follow me, move along, we don’t have all the time in the world.

Suazo guides the guards down a narrow hall like a general leading his battalion.

EXT. DECRYPT BUILDING - NIGHT

Dean and Kate sit on the front steps, staring across the street. An awkward tension between the two. Kate’s concerned. Dean tries to avoid it.

KATE
What’s going on with you lately?

DEAN
I’m fine, Katie.

KATE
No, you’re not. I can tell.

Dean exhales, leans forward, eyes darting around. Kate watches on concerned.

DEAN
Maybe I just want to die.

KATE
You don’t mean that.

DEAN
No? What if I do?

KATE
Whatever it is, you don’t have to go through this alone.

DEAN
I was always alone, just kept fooling myself. My Dad was never there, always off on a hunt, Sam left, eventually everyone dies or leaves. So, why can’t I? Maybe life would have been better if that boogeyman did kill me.

KATE
Please tell me you’re not being serious right now.

Dean goes silent, Kate notices.

KATE (CONT’D)
You’re a good person, you’ve saved people, we’re all here because of you.

DEAN
That’s a lie, Kate. I mean, look around. All of our work, my whole life - it never amounted to anything. We still ended up here, two minutes to midnight. I did nothing, I am nothing - just a guy who wished he was making a difference.

KATE
You are.

DEAN
To who? To them? Look at them, does that look like I saved them? I can’t save anybody, I can’t even save myself.

KATE
Don’t give up, if you do -

DEAN
They win? They already have.

Dean stands, walks off, turns to face Kate.

DEAN (CONT’D)
Welcome to the end of the world. Don’t worry, we won’t be alive for long. Our fate is already written. We were always abandoned, cast aside like the trash we are. He’s not up there and if he is - he doesn’t care. Never did.

Dean leaves. Kate wipes her tears away.

EXT. BROKEN DOWN STREETS - NIGHT

Dean approaches a narrow alley. He hides in the crevice, leans against the wall. Hands trembling as he reaches into his pocket. He cries. Pulls out a syringe and quickly stabs it into his arm. The black liquid flows in.

Dean wipes his tears away and looks up as a wide smirk spreads across his face.

INT. LAIR - SPIRAL STAIRCASE - NIGHT

Suazo leads the Vatican Police up an aging spiral staircase, finally they reach the top. A door stationed ahead. Suazo tries to open it - locked. He moves aside as the Vatican Police kick the door down and storm in.

INT. LAIR - LEVI’S STUDY - CONTINUOUS

The room is ornate and rich with lavish furnishings and archaic paintings. But, other than Suazo and the Vatican Police the room is empty. An overhead television screen turns on to see a recorded message from Levi.

LEVI
I knew it was a set up from the moment you set foot into the city, do not think we’re blind. We have eyes all around you. We’ve infiltrated every organization. So, tell me, do you honestly believe you can win?

BANG! A Vatican Officer shoots Officer Landis. More gun shots erupt as the Officers quarrel amongst themselves. Suazo dodges for cover.

EXT. TIMES SQUARE - NIGHT

The overhead television screen powers up. Every remaining television turns on. Car radio frequencies come to life and switch over. Words spread across the television screens accompanied by the sound of a thousand voices reciting them: STEAL, KILL, CHEAT, LIE, RAPE, SIN.

The people gather around, continuing to fight, but paying attention. On the screen the darkened form of a DEMONIC MAN’S disgusting dark blue lips against pale white aging skin be seen.

DEMONIC MAN
Give in.

The Demonic Man grins, taking pleasure in his victory.

INT. LAIR - LEVI’S STUDY - NIGHT

Suazo hides behind a desk for cover. He spots a gun nearby from a dead Officer. He reaches for it as quietly as he can. Suddenly a foot lands in front of him and kicks the gun away. Suazo looks up to see an Officer aiming a gun at him.

SUAZO
Why?

VATICAN OFFICER
Salvation.

The Vatican Officer’s finger nears the trigger, Suazo PULLS on his leg. The officer trips. Gun goes off. BANG! Suazo swiftly reaches for the gun, kicks the Officers gun away, and aims it at him.

SUAZO
The only salvation you’ll find is with God.

Suazo fires. BANG! The Officer trembles in fear, then notices his leg was shot instead. Suazo pockets the gun.

SUAZO (CONT’D)
It is not the way of the cloth.

Suazo looks around the room filled with dead bodies saddened, turns and walks away.

Dean5339 - December 10, 2009 10:33 PM (GMT)
INT. WHITE HOUSE - OVAL OFFICE - NIGHT

The room is lit from a fiery fireplace, the lights off. Reynolds stares into the flickering flames.

REYNOLDS
I know you’re watching over me, father. I just need to know you’re there. I need to know if what I’m doing is right.

Reynolds sighs, he turns and walks back towards his desk. A slight facial distortion forms in the flames then vanishes.

EXT. BROKEN DOWN STREETS - NIGHT

Dean leans against the corner of the building staring off into nowhere, eyes dazed. Sam approaches. Dean notices, he glances over at him nods and looks away.

DEAN
Just let it be, Sam.

Sam exhales, he leans against the building across from Dean.

SAM
I just care about you.

DEAN
I can take care of myself. It’s my job to look after you, not the other way around.
(Beat)
I just needed some time alone.

That’s it?

Dean cracks a grin, runs his hand over his face.

DEAN
That’s it.

Sam scans the area, stuffs his hands into his pockets.

SAM
The power’s back on.

DEAN
Guess that ends the nuclear meltdown then.

Dean lurches away from the building and walks off.

SAM
Not exactly.

Dean spins around to face his brother, at a loss.

SAM (CONT’D)
It’s eight o’ clock - in the morning. The sun’s gone.

Dean looks back at forth, then at Sam as a chill runs down his spine.

EXT. ALLEY - NIGHT

A POLICE MAN is viciously KICKED in his gut. He groans in pain and rolls to the side. Blood covers the pavement. His face, beaten to a pulp. Gates stares down at him, emotionless.

GATES
Kate Ryder, what can you tell me about her involvement with Dean?

POLICE MAN
He comes by from time to time, helps with cases.

Gates smirks, looks across at Rhodes pacing around at a distance.

GATES
Helps around? This man is a known fugitive. Where can we find her? Where does she live?

The Police Man withers in fear, sweat pours. Gates kneels down to his level. Rhodes watches on.

GATES (CONT’D)
If you don’t tell me everything, you’ll be dead. It’s your life for hers, what’s it going to be?

The Police Man nods, sobbing, ready to give in.

GATES (CONT’D)
That’s what I thought.

Rhodes takes a step back, hands fiddling in his pockets.

EXT. DECRYPT BUILDING - NIGHT

Kate sits on the narrow steps of a building, she leans over her legs. Turns to see Sam and Dean approaching.

DEAN
Kate, I can --

The phone rings. Sam reaches into his pocket, answers it, then listen...

SAM
I understand, we’ll be there.

Sam hangs up, urgently glances back and forth between Kate and Dean.

DEAN
What is it?

SAM
Suazo, says it’s important.

Dean nods, he walks off, leaving Sam and Kate behind.

EXT. NEW YORK CITY STREETS - NIGHT

MUSIC CUE: "WE ARE FIGHTING FOR THE EARTH" WARRIOR (:47)


The head lights of the Impala power on, the engine WHIRRLS to life.

INT. IMPALA - CONTINUOUS

Dean clutches the wheel, teeth grind as he stares ahead. The Impala rockets off. Sam in the passenger seat, Kate in the back.

EXT. NEW YORK CITY STREETS - NIGHT

The Impala SPEEDS through the streets of New York, whirling in and out of exploding cars, debris and fast turns. It narrowly misses people in the way.

WHAM! The Impala hits a middle aged man walking by. It continues on it’s way.

INT. IMPALA - CONTINUOUS

Kate rocks back and forth in the back. Sam hangs on for balance, mind gone. Kate glares at Dean.

KATE
Do you mind slowing down? You’re going to kill somebody!

Dean shoots Kate a raised eyebrow and narrowed eyes.

DEAN
So?

Dean SPINS the wheel a HARD LEFT. Sam exhales, stares forward on edge.

EXT. NEW YORK CITY STREETS - NIGHT

The Impala continues on it’s rampaging way. On a sky scrapper above Mycaelis watches on.

EXT. CITY STREETS - NIGHT

Gates and Rhodes walk through the mayhem and panic on the streets. Police Cars rocket past. Gates smirks.

GATES
Underlay was on the right trail when he decided to start going after her, she’s the key. Always has been. His only mistake is that he gave up too easily. Was too afraid to do what’s necessary.

RHODES
And what’s that?

GATES
Kill her, if she remains silent. You want to draw a person out, first you have to destroy his heart. Corrupt everything he used to believe in. Everything.

Gates walks off, Rhodes pockets his cell phone.

EXT. CATHEDRAL - NIGHT

The Impala SCREECHES to a halt beside the sidewalk. Dean gets out, followed by Sam. Kate’s cell phone rings. Dean looks in on her.

KATE
I’ll see you inside.

Dean nods, closes the door. Looks over to Sam, slides the keys into his pocket. They near the Cathedral looming over them.

INT. CATHEDRAL - NIGHT

The Winchesters wander through the empty cathedral, up ahead they notice Suazo in the front pew alone. Hunched over, withered and broken. Sam looks across at Dean, Dean sighs.

Sam moves to the pew behind Suazo, walks through to take a seat on the right side. Dean sits to his left. Suazo looks up, stares at the cross ahead of him.

SAM
You wanted to see us, father?

Suazo nods.

DEAN
We’re not going to win this war are we?

Suazo sighs, he shakes his head.

SUAZO
The world has already come too far, we can’t rewind time.

SAM
Then what are we going to do?

SUAZO
Everything we can. We can’t let him take over. I have to believe that there is a way, that he hasn’t completely corrupted everyone.

DEAN
It’s false hopes padre.

Sam looks off to the side, not reacting.

SUAZO
The Anti-Christ is already amongst us. Has been for quite some time, setting all the pieces into motion.

SAM
The devil’s son?

Suazo nods.

SUAZO
Born to a demon, Lilith, raised amongst humans.

Suazo looks across at Dean, barely able to say it.

INT. WHITE HOUSE - OVAL OFFICE - NIGHT

Reynolds leans back in his chair, a wind sweeps through the room. Reynolds bolts to his feet to see a man in a suit standing across from him.

INT. CATHEDRAL - CONTINUOUS

Dean and Sam look to the side, taking it all in.

DEAN
You’re saying the President of the United States is the Anti-Christ?

SUAZO
It was always written that he would come in the form of a white horse, sweep up the praise and will from the people. Who better than a world leader during a time of crises?

SAM
If that’s true, he already has most of the world in his pocket.

SUAZO
Following him and disbelieving in God.

Dean hunches over, catches his breath, stands and leaves. Sam watches on. He’s about to get up, Suazo holds him down and shakes his head motion to give him time. Sam nods.

INT. WHITE HOUSE - OVAL OFFICE - NIGHT

Belzebub walks over to the window behind the desk and smirks as he takes it all in.

BELZEBUB
All these years I’ve waited, it’s finally here. You have done a good job, son.

REYNOLDS
Why’d you leave me?

Belzebub turns to face Reynolds, looking on like a burned child.

REYNOLDS (CONT’D)
I didn’t even know if you were real, I had to go off blind faith alone.

BELZEBUB
I wanted to see if you were strong enough.

REYNOLDS
You left me no other choice.

BELZEBUB
And you’re stronger for it. Tell me, do you honestly believe you would have made it this far without support? But it had to be you, only you, and you didn’t disappoint.
(Cracks a grin)
My god, how far the people have fallen. They see you as some form of savior.

REYNOLDS
How am I not? I am strong enough to be a God, right? All your tests, were they not for something?

BELZEBUB
They’ve instilled their lost faith in you.

Reynolds approaches his father, on edge.

REYNOLDS
It is going to be a better world, right?

BELZEBUB
It will be a Garden of Eden, a new beginning. I can count on you to do what needs to be done, can’t I, son?

REYNOLDS
I won’t let you down, father.

Belzebub smirks, then disappears. Reynolds exhales, he looks back into the flickering flames in the fireplace.

EXT. CATHEDRAL - NIGHT

Kate leans against the Impala, eyes stained with tears. Dean approaches cautiously.

KATE
I just got off the phone with Rhodes.

DEAN
What is it?

KATE
Agent Doyle Gates knows who I am, about my connection with you, if I stay he’s going to try to kill me.

DEAN
Reynolds must have hired him, the Anti-Christ is the President. Talk about irony.

KATE
I have to resign.

DEAN
Kate, no.

KATE
What other choice do I have? He knows where to find me. He’s going to use me to try to get to you.

DEAN
I’m sorry.

KATE
I hear that word a lot lately.

DEAN
What do you want me to say? That it’ll all be alright? Because it won’t be. Nothing will. Nothing ever is.

KATE
That’s great, real great. Thanks for the support.

Kate walks around, gets into the Impala. Dean exhales, shakes his head and walks off. Sam leaves, he notices Dean off at a distance and Kate inside the car. He enters.

INT. IMPALA - CONTINUOUS

Awkward silence, Sam looks over at Kate.

SAM
Want to tell me what happened?

KATE
I have to go under the radar, it’s not safe for me around here anymore.
(Beat)
I shouldn’t have went off on him like that.

SAM
You were under stress.

KATE
We all are. How has Dean been holding up? What’s happening with him?

SAM
Lately, I don’t know. He’s not himself anymore, I know that. Doesn’t think we can win.

KATE
Do you?

SAM
I used to. I don’t know. There’s been a lot going on lately.

Sam unconsciously hides the arm that has the mark of Cain, Kate notices.

KATE
Are you doing okay?

SAM
Me? Yeah, I’m fine.
(Beat)
How cold can a person become before they cease being human?

KATE
What do you mean?

SAM
I just don’t care about anything anymore. I don’t know if I ever did or if I was just trying to lie to myself.

SAM
In Times Square, I watched as Dean brutally killed people. I didn’t think anything of it. Not anger, not remorse - just, nothing.

KATE
You came in here to see how I was feeling.

SAM
More of a reflex than anything else. I’m not human Kate, I never have been. I never will be.

KATE
Then, what are you?

Samuel appears in the back-seat, he smirks as he leans in close.

SAMUEL
You’re a monster, Sam.

Sam shakes off the notion, exhales and looks away.

SAM
I don’t know.

Kate leaves the question alone, they sit in silence.

EXT. CITY STREETS - NIGHT

The Impala drives by, Sam’s at the wheel.

INT. IMPALA - NIGHT

Dean stares out the window in silence. Sam glances back at Kate.

SAM
You sure about this? What if the place is bugged?

KATE
I have to risk it, the weapons cache is filled with ammunition. Anything I’ll ever need. I’ve got to find Iblis.

DEAN
Iblis isn’t responsible Kate, these people? It’s their own doing, same as Mammon.

KATE
I can’t believe that. I won’t.

Dean exhales, at a loss. Not wanting any part of it.

EXT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - NIGHT

The Impala arrives, swerves to the side. Ahead of them is a muscle car built to withstand anything. The Winchesters and Kate get out.

SAM
Someone’s here.

DEAN
With heavy artillery at that, definitely expecting a fight.

SAM
Might be Gates.

Dean takes out his gun, clicks the safety off.

DEAN
If it is, he’s dead.

Dean enters, Sam and Kate follow.

INT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - HALLS - NIGHT

The lights blink on and off along with a flashing red warning light. The Winchesters and Kate storm through. Blood sprayed against the wall. Dead bodies off to the side. Kate stops, looks ahead - Bill is gone.

DEAN
What is it?

KATE
We’re not alone. A cop, lost his mind earlier, probably around here somewhere.

DEAN
Great, another human off the chain. Where are the guns?

KATE
In the basement.

Dean motions for Sam to toss him the bag. Sam throws it.

DEAN
Stay here. Sam, watch over her.

DEAN
You knew, and you didn’t kill him? You’re getting soft.

KATE
They’re just lost, they don’t need this.

Dean scowls, rolls his eyes and walks off.

INT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - BASEMENT - MOMENTS LATER

Dean walks through, gun aimed ahead. He rounds the corner, checks, nothing. Suddenly a figure rushes past behind him. Dean spins, aims, nothing. He approaches.

The figure watches on from a distance as Dean glances both ways, features undefined. He moves to the side.

Dean turns around and continues. The figure appears ahead of him, gun drawn. Waiting. Dean levels, fires. BANG! The shot misses. The figure hurries off. Dean runs after him.

Dead end, Dean spins to his right, suddenly he’s knocked off guard from behind. He looks up to see MICHAEL MILLER standing over him in a black leather trench coat holding a shot gun. He smirks.

DEAN
I’ll be damned.

Michael shrugs it off, offers his hand. Dean refuses it.

DEAN (CONT’D)
What are you doing here?

MICHAEL
I was looking for Kate, didn’t know there’d be surprise visitors trying to kill me.

Kate said there was a cop.

MICHAEL
Took care of him, he’s cuffed in the room over.

Dean shakes his head, moves towards the room. Michael blocks him.

DEAN
You should have killed him.

MICHAEL
Always rushing to conclusions. Thought you learned your lesson.

DEAN
You’re not mad?

MICHAEL
We all make mistakes, I forgive you.

Dean smirks, dusts himself off.

DEAN
Have a funny way of showing it. What do you know?

MICHAEL
I followed a demon--

DEAN
Iblis.

MICHAEL
I know where he is, I needed back up. He’s powerful.

DEAN
So, you went to Kate?

Michael nods, slightly laughs.

MICHAEL
We didn’t exactly leave on that good of terms. It’s good to see you again.

Dean sizes Michael up, cracks a grin.

INT. POLICE DEPARTMENT - HALLS - NIGHT

Sam and Kate lean against the wall, they notice two figures approaching. They watch on in confusion, then relax as they see Dean and Michael. Michael and Kate embrace.

MICHAEL
It’s great to see you again.

Kate observes Michael’s face, fresh shaved with a slight stubble. A man just coming off from a crash.

KATE
You’ve changed.

MICHAEL
I’ve learned. I was wrong before, this war is the most important thing of all. I need your help. All of your help.

KATE
What is it?

DEAN
Turns out our MIA hunter has found our pesky demon.

Michael nods, scans the area.

MICHAEL
He’s in a church, close by. I think if we stop him, maybe we’ll have a chance.

DEAN
That’s a long shot.

Michael looks across at Dean.

MICHAEL
You’ve gotta have hope.

DEAN
Hope died the same day six-twenty-six sent the world into hell.

MICHAEL
You either give in or you fight it.
(To Kate)
Ready?

Kate looks back and forth between Michael and Dean. Michael and Kate share a smile, Dean frowns.

EXT. RAN DOWN CHURCH - NIGHT

The Winchesters, Michael and Kate near the church. Michael leads the group. He kicks the door open.

INT. RAN DOWN CHURCH - CONTINUOUS

Wind rushes in as Michael walks through. Cobwebs align the ceilings. Dust and debris. Michael pumps his shotgun. The rest enter, the doors slam shut. The PEDOPHILE PRIEST walks out from around the corner of the alter.

PRIEST
What are you doing here? It’s not safe, you should leave immediately.

Michael aims the gun at the priest. Kate rushes towards him.

KATE
What are you doing?

MICHAEL
He’s Iblis.

KATE
No he’s not, he’s just --

Suddenly Kate is swung back by an invisible force. She breaks through a collapsing column. Michael turns, swings back to the priest - fires - gun swings out of his hands. BANG!

Dean equips his gun. The priest vanishes. The hunters look around. Sam hurries to Kate’s side.

DEAN
Where is he?

MICHAEL
I don’t know!

Laughter echoes throughout the church. The priest - IBLIS - appears, white oozing skin, deformed blue lips... the vision on the television set earlier.

IBLIS
I’m surprised you found me. You think this is all my doing?

Dean fires. Iblish vanishes. Appears behind them.

IBLIS (CONT’D)
Too much credit, too much credit. You should know by now.

Iblis vanishes. The columns shake. Floor boards rip apart. Wind rushes in. Iblis appears, rushes at Sam, lifts him by the throat - throws - vanishes.

DEAN
Sam!

Iblis appears behind Dean.

IBLIS
This is not all my doing.

Dean swings around, Iblis is gone. Michael and Dean survey the area.

MICHAEL
He’s moving too god damned fast!

DEAN
You’re telling me?!

Iblis appears ahead of them, he wags his finger back and forth.

IBLIS
No, no, no!!! You know I’m not the threat they make me out to be. I’m just having fun.

Sam regains consciousness, he stirs and reaches for his gun. Lifts, aims, BANG! Iblis is hit. Blue blood spills, SCREAMS IN AGONY. Vanishes. Dean and Michael turn towards Sam.

DEAN
Good shot.

Iblis appears, moves backwards - fast.

IBLIS
Michael.

Iblis’ face shifts into JEFF.

JEFF
Brother. Follow me.

Iblish rushes back into another room, the doors slam shut behind him. Michael runs towards the door, bangs against it. Looks back at Dean.

MICHAEL
Take care of Kate.

Michael BARGES into the next room. Dean moves to Kate’s side. Kneels besides her. She slowly regains consciousness.

INT. RAN DOWN CHURCH - ADJACENT ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Michael scans the room, sweat drips, he aims his gun.

MICHAEL
I’m not going to let you hurt any more people!

Iblis appears behind him.

IBLIS
Who says you have any say about it?

The doors behind Iblis slam shut, Michael is flung back at an incredible force. Iblis vanishes.

INT. RAN DOWN CHURCH - CONTINUOUS

Dean observes Kate, caring.

DEAN
You going to be okay?

KATE
(weakly)
Who’s winning?

Dean glances back at the adjacent room, then towards Sam.

INT. RAN DOWN CHURCH - ADJACENT ROOM - NIGHT

Iblis looks down on Michael.

IBLIS
Always chasing ghosts, you should know better. I’m not the one you’re after.

Michael strains to retrieve his gun. Dean kicks the door open, BANG! Iblis is knocked back. He laughs.

IBLIS (CONT’D)
You really think I’m the one you want? It was a smoke screen. He’s already got the people.

Michael LUNGES at Iblis, pegs him to the ground.

MICHAEL
Tell me, who are you working for?!

Iblis laughs, coughing out black venomous blood.

IBLIS
Abbadon. Should bring back plenty of happy memories.

Michael PULLS Iblis in tightly.

MICHAEL
Where is he?

IBLIS
Somewhere in the city, the fun and games have only just begun. The clocks about to tick twelve.

Iblis laughs, then grins, baring his fangs. Michael backs away startled. Dean aims his gun.

IBLIS (CONT’D)
What you waiting for Deano? Here’s your chance to see if you were right, to prove these hypocrites wrong.

Dean’s finger tightens on the trigger, sweat pours. Iblis laughs.

IBLIS (CONT’D)
What’s the matter? You afraid of what you’ll find? You’re weak, just like your --

MUSIC CUE: "THE DEVIL" TEARS FOR FEARS

BANG! Michael fires, Dean exhales then looks at Michael.

MICHAEL
It’s over.

Dean pockets his gun, feeling sick.

DEAN
Who’s Abaddon?

MICHAEL
He killed my parents.

Michael turns and leaves, Dean watches on.

INT. RAN DOWN CHURCH - CONTINUOUS

Michael looks over at Kate regaining composure. Sam grins. Michael nods.

SAM
It’s over.

Kate looks out the doors, then back at Michael.

MICHAEL
His hold’s gone, the people are free.

KATE
We can finally go back to the way things used to be.

Sam laughs, rubs out an ache.

SAM
Before the whole world went to hell.

Sam looks over at Dean standing off at a distance, not happy. He looks over at the doors.

DEAN
Let’s go.

Dean moves past the trio. They follow him towards the looming double wooden doors of the church. Dean pushes on the them. The doors swing open to reveal...

PANIC IN THE STREETS. CHAOS. MAYHEM. HELL ON EARTH.

Sam takes a step back. Dean, regretfully nods, he looks over at Kate and Michael.

DEAN (CONT’D)
It’s only just begun.

We rocket through the atmosphere taking in the city below, caught in the same state it was before. Lightning bolts strike around the Empire States Building.

A man in his mid forties, walks around from a corner examining the city below with glee. This is ABBADON.

INT. WHITE HOUSE - OVAL OFFICE - NIGHT

Reynolds stands, facing the fireplace, he tosses the BIBLE in. The bible catches on fire and rots away, dissolving until there’s nothing left.

Can you talk a bit about the first half of the final season?

The first half dealt with everything leading up to the apocalypse. The rise of the mutants, showing how far the world has fallen and re-introducing several key supporting characters as well as some new ones. It was really showing the rise of the anti-christ, whom the audience now finally knows is Reynolds.

How did you arrive at making the president become the anti-christ?

This was something I had planned since our second season, way back when he was first introduced. In mythology the anti-christ is shown as a white knight who aids the people and attains their trust before his true intentions are revealed. That's the same road we decided to go down here. The hardest part of writing the character however throughout the years was giving away information concerning who he really is while keeping his true purpose a secret.

What makes Reynolds different from Sam and Alex?

Their mother, both Sam and Alex were conceived by a mortal woman whereas Reynolds was not. His mother is Lilith.

In this episode we started to see a different side of Sam, where exactly is he?

Sam has always known that there was a small chance at winning this war. But, he's the kind of guy - especially after the rebound of becoming Samuel - who has always wanted to see the jar as half full instead of half empty. He wants to hold onto as little hope that he has left. I don't want to say exactly where he goes next other than it's another really dark turn for his character and he willingly gives in to a certain side of Samuel.

Dean is, well he hasn't been Dean either... what's going on there?

Look at everything Dean's gone through, he's devastated and beyond repair. Plus the world is coming to an end. Realistically, that kind of guy would seek some form of an escape especially when he doesn't want to appear like he's losing control. He's going down a really bad road and he still has many lessons to come from this. But, I can say there is a reason we've been really kicking him when he's down and I think the audience will love where he ends up.

Why is the break so long?

The main reason is because I'm heading into a short film that I'm writing, directing, producing, and everything else. I'm in way more than over my head and need to just put all my energy and focus there. The film is shooting in early February and we continue the season a week after initial filming wraps. The other reason is all of the episodes I'm writing are beyond packed with mythology and I'm taking on the main load, the episodes are now ten pages longer or more than they used to be due to the sheer amount of story we need to get out there and onto those pages.

What's coming next?

The end of the world. God. Destruction. Mayhem. And a full-on angel war. We promised you we would go out in a bang and I don't think the audience will be disappointed. The second half of the season more than rivals every season that's come before it. Did I mention, God?
