Ok this is my first fic please be honest
Sarina woke to the annoying buzz of her alarm clock as she did every morning. In a cold sweat and panting. It was somewhat comforting to her that despite all of the changes in her life within the past 3 weeks, the nightmare she has had for the last 15 years of her life were still haunting her. At only 25 Sarina was a recent graduate of Yale university with a PhD in forensic Anthropology, and was a fully licensed paramedic, with job offers coming out of the wood work. Like her mother she was extremely gifted, and like her mother Sarina hadn’t a clue what she wanted to do with her life. For a long time she did, she would grow up to be like her Father and her Brothers, saving lives, killing the things that go bump in the night, and avenge the mother she never got a chance to know. Now that was the farthest thing from her mind. She wanted nothing to do with them. The mere thought of them made her angry.
After rolling out of bed she made her way into the kitchen and saw that Nick had made a pot of coffee before he left for work. He had even dug her favorite mug out as well as a bowl and a juice glass and sat them beside a small note on the counter. They moved in fairly late in the afternoon yesterday and didn’t get much unpacked in the kitchen. Sarina poured herself a cup and went to sit at the island to read her note. “Mrs Nicholas Brenan to be, sorry I wont be there to help unpack, but we both know I’ll only really be in your way. I love you and I will be home late, dinner with a client, XOXO Nick” With a sigh she picked up her coffee and headed in the other room to begin unpacking.
It was about 8:30 that night when Sarina finally unpacked the last box, Relived that they both had very little belongings. She helped herself to a slice of the cold leftover pizza when a knock on the door startled her. “Nick did you forget you key again?” Sarina yelled and laughed as she made her way to the door. A few feet from the door she noticed that the window in the front room which she could not open an hour ago was now wide open. “What the….” Another knock interrupted her train of thought. “Coming“ it was at that moment Sarina reached for the door that she got a shiver up her spine. Something was not right and she was not just thinking about the now open window. Sarina opened the door expecting Nick, however to her surprise her brother Sam her father and family friend Bobby were on the other side. With only a glance she started to slam the door shut when a hand came from behind her grabbing the door. Startled she whipped around on full alert ready to defend herself only to find her eldest brother Dean standing behind her with a firm grip on the door.
“Now Now Sarina you were raised with better manners than that.” Dean Said as he pushed his dazed sister out of the way, grabbing the pizza from her hand and shoving it into his mouth, before closing the door behind Sam, John and Bobby.
“What the Hell …”
“SARINA-MARYLYNN language” all four yelled as they made their way to the couch. Stilled stunned and angry Sarina followed them.
“Now Sarina please just hear us out.” Sam Begun
“Oh please Sammy “ Dean cut in as he fell to the couch “give it a rest she should be happy to see us. And who the hell is Nick”
“Happy Happy you think I, I just get out”
“Sarina sit down” John began “we need to talk”
“NO now get out”
“Sarina please” Sam begun “We have something you need to hear”
“AND WHO THE HELL IS NICK?” Dean interrupted
“No there is nothing you, any of you in fact, could have that would interest me.” With a quick turn Sarina grabbed the phone and headed into the back room.
All three boy jumped up and began to follow “hey guys let me” Bobby said standing slowly. Bobby made his way to the back of the apartment and found Sarina sitting on her bed dialing the phone. With a quick move Bobby was in possession of the phone. “Look I know we are not your favorite people, but we are a family in a way and this situation needs to be handled as a family.”
“Bobby you know I don’t hate you but…”
“I know Sweetie but what they have is very important it will help you as well as them find the answers your looking for.” Bobby began as he sat beside her on the bed taking her hand. “You brothers and your father are here to include you, they want you to help them, They need you to help them.”
“Help them, the last time I helped them John put me in the system. His own daughter. He didn’t even look back as he drove away. And Sam and Dean they didn’t ….”
“I know but he thought it was the best thing for you. Please for me listen to them. You may be surprised with what they have. Please Sweetie for me.”
“Nothing surprises me Bobby, Not anymore.” With that Sarina stood letting her hand fall from Bobby’s. and headed towards the door. Once there she turned to find Bobby still sitting on the bed looking at her. “We better get this over with I have better things to do.”
Once back in the living room Sarina took a seat in the chair farthest from her family. “I’m listening, and I haven’t got all night so make it quick.”
“Well Sammy you should start by telling her about Jessica.” John began
“Its Sam! And maybe you should start with what you discovered on your ‘quest’ “
“Look someone had better start. I really don’t have all night.”
“Okay” Dean jumped in “who the hell is Nick? and go grab me a beer.”
“I thought you were here to discuss the family business not my life and I have no beer.”
“First things first young lady the family business is a part of your life a big part, and secondly it is not going to kill you to answer your brother. In fact you answer the questions we ask remember.” As John spoke Sarina had to fight back tears the sound of his voice brought back the one memory that took her years to forget.
“Times up now get out.”
“Okay, about a year and a half ago, Sammy’s girl bit the dust the same way Mom did. He and I were out looking for Dad and when he returned she was well a light fixture on the ceiling, like mom you know the drill. Hey do you have any more of that pizza?” With that Dean rose from the couch and headed to the fridge.
“You could have frazed it a bit differently.” Sam spoke as he kicked his brother when he passed. “But that basically how it started.”
“What started?”
“The murders” John said lifting his head from his hands. “The murders of our friends and family. We are all that’s left, Jim, Caleb, Anne, everyone we ever….”
“Sarina you have no food” Dean interrupted shutting the fridge door, and started to open the surrounding cupboards “nothing, absolutely nothing. I’m going to starve.”
“Killed like Mom?” Sarina spoke shaking her head
“Some, others were…. Well It wasn’t pretty.” Bobby picked up “Even Hunters that we never knew, are gone, some just vanished while others well it was disturbing, I’ve never seen anything so brutal. Limbs ripped clean off, insides spilling out. It was wrong.”
“Seriously Kido, there is nothing to eat in this entire place. I’m wasting away to nothing, soon you’ll have no brother, only an annoying sister.”
“DEAN, Sam is not a girl quit calling him one.” John yelled “and come back in here and sit down we need to finish telling Sarina what we know.”
Well I like it! Dean is being Dean and Sarina is stubborn like all the Winchesters, Bobby is peacemaker and mediator, Sam is the gentle one and John is bossy all in all pretty good!
Me Likey, its a good start, keep writing.
