~Chapter One- The First Nightmare~

Nearly Two Months Ago.

The school bell rang to dismiss the students to attend the school. Instantly, 17 year old Harriet Prescott stood up from her desk and collect her belongings before she hurried out of the math classroom to meet her older brother at thier lockers. Students crowded the hallways as they too made thier way to their lockers. Harriet weaved her way through the sea of students to where her locker was and opened it. Her locker was neat and organized with her class binders in order from period sequence, a small rectangular mirror that stuck to the inside of the metal door with a magnet with three photographs; one of her and her brother, one of her mother and a picture of her, her brother, her father and her mother all smiling at the camera. She replaced the unwanted books in her locker and put her homework in her messenger bag along with her pencil case before she slung the strap onto a shoulder and closed her locker door. When she turned around to lean against her locker to wait for her brother she found that the hallway was completely silent and the halls were completely empty. The hallways couldn't have emptied that fast, it was impossible. It has only been about five minutes. What was going on?
"Drew?" she called out at the empty hallway "Drew!"
Her response was only the silence and the stillness of the unusual empty hall. She pushed herself off of her locker and began to walk down the hall. With each step she took, the heels of her shoes softly clicked on the titled floor and the grip she had on her science binder and textbook tightened. She kept calling out for her brother but she didn't get an answer.
"Drew, this isn't funny. Come out, we're too old to be playing hide and seek. Please, I'm scared Drew. Come out!"
Still no answer. Harriet was getting really scared. Normaly, when Drew played a trick like this he would hear the fear in her voice he would take automatically come out and apologize for scaring her so bad. But he wasn't. With one last yell with her brother's name on her lips, she began to run out of the front doors of the school.

The sun was shining high in the bright blue sky that had a few clouds in it. There was a soft cool breeze that blew her long ebony brown hair that natural curled in loose ringlets and that reached slightly past her shouldes. Harriet felt a shiver crawl up her spine when she saw that outside was empty and silent too. Nobody was around. Even though it was a nice day, no birds chirped and no animals went around to do what ever they do to survive. It was competely deserted.
"Drew?!" she called out as she pressed her books against her chest. This time she did get an answer, only it wasn't it coming from the front of the school.
"Harry!"
Without much of a thought, Harriet ran over to the back of the school. Her heels pounded on the ground as she ran over to the baseball diamond. When she reached the bleachers she suddenly stopped dead in her tracks. She found her brother but some man was pressing him against the back of the cage by his neck.
"Drew!" Harriet screamed and she ran to the edge of the sand of the diamond. Sudeenly, her feet wouldn't move. They seemed to be planted down in their spot. She tried to move her feet but no matter how hard she tugged, they wouldn't budge. "Drew!"
"Harry!" Drew called as he strugged to turn his head to face her "Harry, run!"
"No!" Harriet screamed "No. Let him go!" Harriet tried once again to move her legs but they still wouldn't move. As she still tried to move her legs; the man, that was holding Drew up by his neck, turned his head to face her. Harriet instantly stopped struggling and let out a gasp when she the man faced her. His eyes! They weren't normal but they were solid white. The man smiled evilily at her before he turned back at Drew before he used his free hand to help his other hand to strangle him.
"DREW!" Harriet screamed as she began to struggle with her unmoveable legs. Than all to quickly, the man let go and Drew fell limply onto the ground.
As the man backed away from Drew's lifeless body, Harriet once again began to try to move her legs but they still didn't move. Since there was no use in trying to move her due to her feet being super-glued to the ground she screamed as the man began to laugh hesterically.

"DREW! No! No! Drew!" the scream pierced through the once silent house of the Prescott house.
17 year old Drew Prescott sat up in bed as soon as her sister screamed his name the first time. But the time she screamed her name again, he was already running to her bedroom. When he opened the door, he flicked on the light. Harriet's screams filled the room. He stood there for only a second to watch his little sister toss and turn violently in her bed before he ran over to the bed.
"Harriet! Harry, wake up!" Drew shook her hard.
"Please, no! Drew! Drew!" Harriet kept screaming and tossing.
"Wake up! Harriet!" Drew shook her once more but harder this time. As their father came running in, Drew pulled his still screaming and wriggling sister up in a sitting position. Harriet's screams echoed throughout the room as she wriggled out of her brother's grasp even though she was still asleep.
"Harriet" their father yelled as he too came over "Wake up, it's just a nightmare."
Drew shook her once more and with the last of the scream on her lips, she opened her eyes.

Under Drew's hands, Harriet's skin was clammy and sweaty. Hot and salty tears streamed down her cheeks and her body shook like she was in the artic tundra.
"Harriet, it was just a dream" Drew's calming voice broke through her heaving breathing.
"Drew!" she gasped and she hugged tightly around his middle. Drew instantly wrapped his arms around her and pressed her shaking form against him.
"What was your nightmare about, Harriet?" their father asked as he gently sat down beside his two teenage children.
"Drew. He killed Drew" she cried.
"Who did?"
"The man with the white eyes."

"What man with white eyes?" their father wondered.
Harriet didn't answer, she just tightened the grip she had on her brother and cried in the crook of his neck. Drew did his best to comfort her; he rubbed circles on her back and whispered promises that he would never leave her in her ear. As Drew kept Harriet at bay, their father tried to come up with the answers to the questions he had on the man. White eyes? Those weren't normal. Than he remembered that his wife used to be a supernatural hunter before she gave birth to Drew and Harriet. He still had the connections of other hunters in the Hunting Circle, he would go through the numbers tomorrow and call the best. With a tired sigh, he looked at the time before he turned his attention to his children.
"It's late, you two. Let's all go back to bed."
"No!" she screamed "I don't want to sleep. I don't want to dream."
"It's okay Dad, I'll stay up with her."
"You two have school in the morning."
"If I'm tired tomorrow than I'll sleep in Study Hall" Drew tried to reason.
"Alright" their father sighed "I'll see you two in the morning" he got up off the bed and kissed their foreheads. After wishing that they had the sweetest dreams; he turned off the light, closed the door and than went back to bed.

earth_child - August 29, 2009 04:49 PM (GMT)
The student body was dismissed from their final class of the day and like every day for the past month, Drew stood outside of her class with his school bag packed full of his homework. Since Harriet told every detail of her first nightmare that scared the living daylights out of her, Drew has arranged to leave his Study Hall period to meet his little sister outside of her last class so she didn't have to relive the horrible nightmare. Drew stood leaning against the wall near the door and watched as his sister's fellow classmates filed out of the room. It wasn't long until Harriet too filed out of the room with a little smile on her lips.
"How was class? No one made fun of you, did they?" he asked her.
"Not really" she answered quietly.
"Not really? Harry, how am I supposed to protect you if you don't tell me what they said?"
"It was just some remarks about how I can't do anything without you. Nothing serious, really Drew" she dismissed with a shrug of her shoulders. The two siblings made thier way to Harriet's locker for her to pack up her homework before they walked home.

It took Harriet nearly 10 minutes for her to pack up her work before they headed out of the school. Even though it was a Friday and school was dismissed, there were still students hanging around school property with their friends. With the straps of their bags on their shoulders, Harriet and Drew made their way through the crowd of students and off of the school's property. Unfortuntately, the Prescott siblings were stopped by a remark that one of the jocks made.
"Hey, Crazy Girl!" he called with a laugh "When are you being picked up to go back to the Asylum?"
After that remark, the jock's friends laughed but that made Drew angry.
"What did you just call my sister?" Drew demanded as he turned to look at the jock.
"Crazy. That is what we call people like her."
Before Harriet could warn her brother, Drew threw a punch at him. The jock punched back just as hard. It wasn't long before they were both rolling around on the ground and throwing punches at one another with everyone watching. Even through Drew got a few good punches in, so did the jock. As the fight went on, the crowd of onlookers cheered everytime the jock punched Drew and they encoruaged the fist fight with each passing second. The onlooker's cheers and encouragements drowned out Harriet's attempts of calling out for Drew to stop. When she knew that she wasn't going to be heard over the cheers, she pushed herself through the crowd to where her brother was fighting. It looked like Drew was winning for he was sitting on top of the jock and with each punch he made to his face Drew told him not to call Harry crazy with numerous cuss words. Drew was about punch the jock one last time but Harriet grapped his fist as he pulled it back. When Drew felt his sister's hands on his wrist, he shifted his focused onto her. Niether of the siblings aknowledged that the crowd was now starring silently at them.
"Drew, stop."
"No, I have to teach him a lesson."
"I think you have. Look at him, I think he'd learned it. Please Drew, can we just go home?"
Drew looked back down at the dumb jock who dared to call his baby sister crazy. He gave the kid a broken nose and a broken jaw. With a sigh, he stood up and began to lead Harriet away from the scene.

Harriet and Drew walked slowly, trying to stall the lecture that Drew was going to recieve when they got home. Drew held a bloody hand to his own nose since it was bleeding.
"Daddy's not going to be very happy" Harry broke the long silence "You're not supposed to fight anymore."
"I know Har, I just couldn't let him get away with calling you crazy cause you're not."
"Maybe I am Drew."
"You're not" he insisted "You're just having awful nightmares."
"Nightmares of a man with solid white eyes and who tries to kill the most important people in my life everytime I close my eyes. That's not normal Drew."
"Maybe not but that doesn't make you crazy."
"Daddy thinks its something supernatural so he called in someone who might be able to help."
"Yes, the Winchesters. They've got a cool last name, did I tell you that they're named after a rifle?"
"Yes Drew, twice" she giggled as they came up to the house.
"C'mon, let's go inside and let Dad have his lecture" he sighed with a roll of his eyes which she giggled at.

The house was neat and tidy like it always was, their father liked to have the house like that. Once the Prescott siblings were inside and the door was shut, they dumped their school bags on the couch.
"Harriet?! Drew?!" they heard their father call from the kitchen. They heard footsteps come closer as their father came into the same room as them.
"Hi Daddy" Harriet greeted when he was in the room.
"Drew? What the hell happened to your face? You didn't get into another fight did you?"
"You think I look bad, you should see the other guy" Drew joked but no one laughed.
Their father sighed a tired sigh "C'mon, let's go clean you up. What did they say this time?"
"The quarterback called Harry crazy. I couldn't let him get away with calling her that Dad" Drew replied as he sat on the toilet with the seat down and Harriet came to sit on the edge of the bathtub.
"We know that she's not crazy but you can't keep pounding people's faces in. Fighting isn't the answer besides, one day you're going to get expelled from school."
