I can't sleep :P
Disclaimer: I sadly own nothing.
"Dean, I think we should call a plumber."
12 year old Sam Winchester perched indian style on the toilet seat in the bathroom. The apartment his family was renting was old, rundown, and the bathroom was no exception. The white and yellow striped wallpaper on the wall was peeling and hanging off in small sheets, the tiles were cracked, and a little hole near the bathtub had become home to an ever growing family of mice. And to top it all off, the sink refused to allow more than a trickle of water to come out of the faucet.
Yup, Sam thought, Just another day in paradise for the Winchester Family.
"Shut up, Sammy, I know what I'm doing." His older brother's reply was muffled, mixed with the sound of clinking metal on metal.
"It's Sam, and maybe if you..."
"A-HA!" A loud thunk and a few choice curses later, Dean emerged, rubbing his hand over a bright read bump on his forehead. "You wanna test it out, Sammy?" he prodded, emphasizing "Sammy" and looking smug.
Sam wanted to smack the smirk right off his face. But he wasn't in the mood to wrestle, and Dean had won the last three fights they had engaged in.
Stupid older brothers.
He leapt off the toilet seat and poked his head below the sink to look at the pipe. Sam didn't know much about plumbing (okay, really anything about plumbing) but he did know that pipes weren't supposed to look or shake like that.
"Uh, Dean? Are you sure you fixed it?"
Dean huffed. "Of course I'm sure. I know how to fix a simple leaky pipe, Sam." He threw the wrench on the floor and knelt down in front of the sink. "Go on, test it."
Sam quirked his eyebrow and shrugged. "Okay then." He turned on the faucet.
No water. Nothing.
At least until the pipe burst, water assaulting his brother with renewed fury. Dean yelped and grabbed the pipe with his left hand, stopping the water from spraying all over and wiping his wet face with his right hand. Sam burst with laughter.
"You think this is funny, geek?" Dean yelled, dripping and sliding on the floor.
Sam just laughed louder, nodding his head and doubling over. Tears were prickling the corners of his eyes, his stomach beginning to ache. Then he noticed Dean shift.
"Dean," he started, still between giggles, shaking his head. "Don't."
The bathroom was small, and Dean was blocking Sam's only escape.
"Dean!"
Dean grinned, aimed, and pressed his thumb over part of the leak.
Sam was drenched in seconds.
Okay, thought Sam as he wiped his eyes, listening to his older brother roar with laughter, Maybe this time I'll kick his ass.
And he almost did.
