Love Kills

Inside the only diner in the small town of Marion, Al, Frankie and Charlie sat at the bar cloest to the TV. The rest of the diner was empty because of the thunderstorm. The two ladies sat across from the waitresses who stood on the other side of the counter. Charlie sat farthest from the TV holding the remote and flipping through the channels as they waited for their orders. Within minutes, she stopped on a movie channel with “The Notebook” playing.
“Oh, I love this movie,” the waitress with short red hair said with a dreamy expression on her face.
“You like this crap?” Frankie said arguably. Just as she spoke the bell announcing another customer had arrived made her look towards the door for a moment. What are hot guys like that doing in this redneck town?
“Yeah! What woman doesn’t?” she asked. Both Frankie and Charlie raised their hands high instantly. The blond waitress left the conversation to wait on the new customers.
“Why not?” the red head inquired further.
“Everything except the hot sex scene is pretty ridiculous, but would they’ve really ended up together?” Frankie exclaimed.
“Real life isn’t like that. Men are never devoted to a woman like that. They can barely handle not burping or scratching their balls in public,” Charlie added.
“Amen, sister! When men get bored they move on to the next victim,” Frankie continued.
“Men are only good for one thing and that my friend is to--,” Charlie was cut off by Frankie’s elbow being embedded in her ribs. Charlie scowled at Frankie then looked in the direction that Frankie motioned to with her head. There in the booth farthest from the women sat two very good looking young men, one taller and with longer hair then the other. Both men were looking at the small group of women with cocked eyebrows. Charlie smiled sheepishly then turned back to the group.
“I was going to say cuddling!” Charlie whispered loudly to Frankie.
“Only you,” Frankie giggled.
Just then the brunette waitress turned to the cook gathered two plates. She placed one in front of Frankie and the other in front of Charlie. They both sat quietly and ate. A few minutes later Charlie turned to look at the two men. The taller one glanced at her and gave her a small grin. She turned back to her plate blushing like a school girl. Don’t even think about it Charlie.
“Well, it’s been real,” Frankie said as she paid for the food with a credit card.
“See you at breakfast?” the red head asked.
“Yup.” Charlie said cheerily, “Wouldn’t miss the most important meal of the day!”
“How about you, Holly?” the red head asked.
“Too early….lunch sounds better,” Frankie answered.
“Ya’ll take care. See you in the morning.” Charlie called as they walked out of the diner. She glanced in the direction of the two men. Both were turned to watch them leave, never taking their eyes of her. Do I have something on my face? Why are they looking at me? I know they aren’t checking me out because there’s nothing to check out about me. Maybe they think I look freaky…I don’t blame them then because everything about me is wrong.Frankie and Charlie walked in the direction of the truck until Charlie spoke. “They were totally checking you out.”
“No, they were checking you out,” Frankie retorted.
“Whatever. They seemed cool though.”
“Are you serious? They could be crazy psycho killers!”
“Which one would you want to be killed by?” I pick the taller one, but he would never be interested in a girl like me. Who would want to date someone who belongs in a circus or even a mental hospital?“Charlie!” Frankie said annoyed.
“I was just wondering. You’re the one that said they were crazy psycho killers. You don’t even know them.”
“Neither do you, but already you think the best of them.”
“Which one?” Charlie asked while nudging Frankie’s arm.
“The shorter one. I think he could be up to the challenge. I’m sure he would get high marks in all categories.”
“Thought so,” Charlie said as she rolled her eyes.
“It doesn’t matter we are on a hunt. What do we got so far?”
“Well, there has been one death every day of this month. All the victims go to high school here. The waitress said they know all the girls and that they were fine one day and the next they talked about how no one loved them or cared if they died,” Charlie explained.
“Single Awareness day coming up soon. These girls may have a connection to the theme of the month. Love isn’t in the air in this town. We need to find more info about these girls and if they were dating anybody. Maybe there’s some crazy cult of men that are sacrificing these women.”
“Okay…….hmm….Frankie, I love you, but every time only female victims are involved you say your cult of psycho men theory,” exclaimed Charlie.
“I’m telling you it’s out there somewhere!” snapped Frankie loudly.
“Okay, Okay. I’m just trying not to get distracted from the real facts,” said Charlie holding her hands up like she was being held at gun point.
Frankie looked at Charlie with frustration. Frankie could never hide her feelings. She didn’t see the point in holding things back or “sugar coating” as she would call it.
“Alright….since we don’t really have enough facts then we won’t rule it out yet,” Charlie proposed. Can you imagine her reaction if that actually happens one day? Frankie smiled.
“I think this is it….I can feel it,” said Frankie. Charlie rolled her eyes. She needs to get some.
"Shall we,” said Charlie motioning to their apple red pickup truck.
“Let’s ride!”
Charlie loved her truck. Its name was Big Red because she felt weird riding in a truck with a girl name. She loved the power behind it. There were no obstacles she couldn’t face with this horse powered hunk of metal. It was the one thing that didn’t make her weak, vulnerable and feeble. She felt she could take on anything in this truck.
“Don’t look now. Our killers are coming out of the diner and heading this way. Let’s go before they get closer. I don’t feel like hearing weak pick up lines,” grumbled Frankie.
“I thought you said he would be up to the challenge,” smiled Charlie, “Let’s just see what they have to say.”
“Your innocence is going to get us killed one day,” hissed Frankie.
The short one knocked on the window and smiled a way that could knock the pants off of any girl. Charlie rolled down the window.
“Can I help you?” asked Charlie.
“Yeah, my name is Dean and this is my brother, Sam. We were wondering if you two ladies knew anything fun to do in this town.” That was lame!
“Looking for a good time, are you?” asked Frankie sarcastically, “Well, you are asking the wrong chicks.”
Dean looked at Sam with a worried look. Sam pushed his way to the window. “I’m sorry if my brother gave you the wrong impression.”
“No, he didn’t. That’s just Holly,” replied Charlie avoiding her sister’s glare.
“Well, Holly and you are?”
“Jane,” answered Charlie. Not really, but you can call me anything you want. I mean…what the heck Charlie?
“Well, Holly and Jane, we were wondering what people do for fun around here.”
“That’s what we are headed to find out too,” said Charlie doe eyed at the handsome stranger.
“Maybe we could join—“ replied Dean.
“This is kind of chick bonding fun, boys,” interrupted Frankie, “Unless you want to get your nails and hair done too?”
“Oh. Well, we hope to see you later then around town,” replied Sam. Let’s hope we do before my premonition comes true.
"Okay, bye guys. Nice to meet you,” said Charlie. That was weird.
“Bye ladies,” said Sam and Dean gave nod.
Frankie nodded back. Charlie pulled out of the parking lot and waited for it.
“Have you lost your mind?” yelled Frankie.
“What?”
“They could have killed us! You rolled the window all the way down! Why didn’t you just give them our money and the keys to your truck? Thank God we have fake names!”
“I’m sorry, but you think everybody could kill us.”
“And they could! Good looking guys can be serial killers too….whether you like it or not.” I mean Texas Chainsaw Massacre had Matthew Maconhey in it and he’s gorgeous!
"Okay. I get your point. Sorry I have so much hope for people.”
Frankie looked out the window then sighed, “Let’s focus on the hunt and forget about the penises.”
“Fine with me. Where should we start?” asked Charlie.
“One of the waitresses said there was a party at Jimmy Johnson’s house. Let’s start there.”
“A meet and greet? My type of thing!” Charlie said enthusiastically.
********************************************************************
Charlie and Frankie arrived at the party a little later. The party was in full swing. The storm had let up since the girls were at the diner. The girls strolled into the house full of high school kids. The girls split up while making their rounds through the house. Ten minutes later they met back up on the front walk.
“Did you find out anything?” asked Frankie.
“Yeah, Sarah Smith is going to the V-day dance with the quarterback Kyle Brown, who is over the suicide of girlfriend. Lizzie Black is going with Jacob Edwards, who hasn’t dated in six months since his break up with Beka Jones. It’s a teenage soap opera,” Charlie said winded from the fast paced talking.
“How is any of that relevant to the hunt?” Frankie asked annoyed.
“Oh, that’s not all. I just thought that was some juicy gossip. Anyway, so far there have been twelve suicides, one for everyday of the month except tonight. Well, so far so good. All twelve of these girls were the cheerleader girlfriends of the football players. That’s another connection, but who would be after their girlfriends?” Charlie asked rhetorically.
“I don’t know but I might have a lead on who will be next. Jennifer Goodwin didn’t come to the party tonight nor did Hannah Jacobs. These are the last two remaining girls on the varsity cheerleading squad. One of the two will be next,” stated Frankie
“Go figure. So the depressed girl will try to off herself tonight and it moves to the other tomorrow night. Let’s find out where they are,” Charlie said as both she and Frankie turned around. While they were turning, they both ran into someone.
“Excuse me,” said Charlie without looking up as her side stepped the person.
“Where’s the fire?” a voice asked.
Both girls took a step back. “Not you two again!” said Frankie.
“Holly. Jane. What a surprise?” Sam said with wide eyes and a smirk. Don’t blow it this time Dean!
“Got your hair and nails done, and now you’re ready for a night at a high school party?” asked Dean cockily.
“Nice to see you again, but we really don’t have time for this,” said Charlie with a polite smile. She began walking and Frankie fell in step with her.
“Leaving so soon?” Dean asked. Sam elbowed him. Dude, Shut it!
“Time does fly…speaking of flies…you need to zip yours,” Frankie laughed looking at Dean’s pants. Dean looked down embarrassed. Frankie and Charlie quickly left the party. Once they were safely inside the truck headed toward the hotel, Frankie spoke.
“Those stalkers! I bet they really are serial killers.”
“Maybe they wanted to go to the party to have fun. I mean, we were there too,” Charlie said nonchalantly.
“We are on a hunt. They are too old to be at a high school party. I bet their petafiles looking for something to violate their parole.”
“Whatever,” Charlie said rolling her eyes as she parked in front of their motel room. Petafile, petafile, petafile. See there is a perfectly good reason to stop hoping you see Sam again.
“We need to find these two girls addresses and find out where they are.”
********************************************************************
It didn’t take long for them to find the addresses. As the girls were heading out again, a black car parked beside the truck.
“Nice ride,” smiled Frankie “Please don’t let it be an old man driving it.”
“This is ridiculous,” Dean’s voice coming from the car as the engine died and the car doors open.
“You are ridiculous. You’re scaring them away. We have to help them so stop being such a jerk.”
“They don’t seem to need our help especially that Holly chick. She has a mouth on her. I’d like to teach her a lesson or two,” Dean said as he met Sam at the door with the key. Sam nudged him and motioned toward the red truck with his head.
“You do realize stalking is illegal in all 50 states,” Frankie said impatiently.
“We aren’t stalking you,” Sam retorted.
“Really? Third time’s a charm. Everywhere we go you end up coming after us. I thought stalkers weren’t supposed to be seen?” Charlie asked. Not that I’m complaining. Oh, dear.
“We are investigators. We are working on a case.” Sam replied.
“What kind of case?” asked Charlie unbelieving.
“It’s top secret,” answered Dean.
“Are you hunters?” asked Frankie eyeing their apparel. Dean and Sam looked at each other surprised.
“So you’re here on a job too. We might be on the same one. Would you care if we worked together on it?” said Sam looking to Charlie for help. Charlie seems to be the one to go through to get to Frankie. “Alright,” said Charlie.
“Do you mind if we go inside to talk about it?” asked Sam, “We won’t hurt you.”
Charlie was waiting on Frankie’s response for this question. Frankie didn’t feel threatened by them, but she did think they were hiding something. The two guns in her jacket, knife in her back pants pocket, and another gun by her ankle gave her all the comfort she needed.
“Okay, let’s go to our room just in case you have torture devices in your room,” replied Frankie.
Charlie showed them the way while Frankie hung back wanting to be the last one to enter the room.
“So what’s the 411?” asked Charlie as she sat on the closest twin bed. Sam sat next to her, which made her cheeks blush a little. Of all the other places to sit of course he sits by me.
“Well, we have heard about the twelve girls committing suicide in this town. They were all dating members of the---“ began Sam.
“Yeah. Yeah. We know. There are two girls left. We have their names, numbers, and addresses. We need to get to whoever is next. We really don’t have time to waste,” Frankie interrupted.
“Isn’t the main thing finding out who or what is doing this to them so we can stop it?” Dean asked.
“Well……yeah, but until we do we can’t let another girl kill herself. I won’t let it happen,” Charlie said as she stood.
“Ok. I understand. We’ll come with you,” Sam suggested. Dude, this girl cares a lot, about everyone. Wow!
“We don’t need babysitters,” Frankie said hastily. Charlie cleared her throat.
“Thanks though maybe you could go talk to the boyfriends though. They might know something to help us figure this out,” Frankie said after changing to a friendlier tone.
“Why don’t you go with Dean to talk to the boyfriends and Jane can come with me to the girls’ houses?” Sam suggested.
“What?” Frankie and Dean shouted at the same time. Sam gave Dean a death glare which made him change his reaction.
“I mean great idea, Sammy,” Dean said with a big fake grin.
“Wait a sec. Is there something you’re not telling us?” asked Charlie. I thought separating would be like boys against girls. Why did he want to be with me? Oh, right. Appear weak and feeble. Check!
“Of course, there is. They’re hunters, Charlie. Hunters are always small with the details,” stated Frankie, “It’s time to spill boys or we’re not going anywhere, with you at least.”
Dean and Sam exchanged a long look then Dean gave Sam a nod.
“Well, we are on another job too. We are here to protect you. This is may sound a little weird so just keep an open mind,” said Sam carefully.
“Alright,” replied Charlie.
“Okay…I’m waiting,” said Frankie.
“I have premonitions about the future. I see things before they happen. It’s usually about someone dying. I saw you, Holly. You were on the phone in this hotel room. You were screaming into the phone telling them not to do it. There was a gunshot then you grabbed a knife and killed yourself. The person on the phone was a man because you called him Charlie. Now, we found you, but who is Charlie?” asked Sam.
“Ummmm…..” Frankie couldn’t speak. Holy Crap Batman! She looked at Charlie who looked scared to death.
“I’m Charlie.” Gulp.
“I thought your name was Jane,” said Sam surprised.
“Don’t you use fake names too?” asked Charlie.
“Charlie, why don’t you just give them our social security numbers and driver licenses!” yelled Frankie, “We have no idea who they are!” or what Sam is!
“It’s okay,” said Sam, “You need to be honest with us so we can help you.”
“We don’t need your help because I would never do that to myself!” hissed Frankie.
“Nevertheless, I don’t want it to come true so let us help you,” urged Sam.
“Okay, we’ll work this out later, but right now we have to help these girls then we can work on the rest. If you say you are here to help then we’ll take it. I’m sorry about before….we….I don’t trust men so easily,” confessed Frankie.
“So can we split up like I suggested covering more ground?” asked Sam.
Frankie pressed her lips together and looked deeply at Sam. We need to go help those girls, but I can’t leave HIM with Charlie. I see something.
Charlie knew something was wrong. “What do you see?” Charlie said worried.
“Something not human, which is why I’m worried about leaving my sister in your hands,” replied Frankie never taking her eyes off of Sam.
“What? Did you guys get stoned at the party cause if so I’m going back,” snickered Dean.
“Frankie sees things differently than we do. She has a hearing loss so it makes up for it, I guess. You could say she doesn’t have her beer goggles on like everybody else,” said Charlie.
“What are you?” forced Frankie.
“Hunters. Just like you,” said Sam, “Do you see something different?”
“You have power. A lot, but I can’t see if it’s good or evil. I think it could go either way. How is it that you have this power and Scrappy over here doesn’t have anything?” asked Frankie looking at Dean.
“Hey! I bring a lot to the duo without some frigging power,” stated Dean. Unless kickin’ some evil ass is a power!
“Well, Charlie doesn’t have a power and you do!” answered Sam.
“That’s not the point!” said Frankie quickly. They can’t find out about Charlie. They already know too much.
“The point is we are wasting time! We are just going to have to take a chance, Frankie. Those girls could die! This debate is over!” yelled Charlie as she walked out of the hotel room. Did I just say that?! Go, Charlie! It’s your birthday!
Dean, Sam, and Frankie followed her outside.
“You’re right! We have to get moving,” said Frankie, “Charlie, be careful.”
Charlie gave Frankie a hug before she got into her truck.
“I love you, sis. Everything is going to be fine,” reassured Charlie.
Frankie walked up to Sam and looked in his eyes. “If you hurt my sister then I’m going to hunt you instead.”
“I understand. I promise, she is safe,” reassured Sam. She’s scarier then things I’ve hunted!
The red truck and the black Impala peeled out of the hotel parking lot, unknowing of what was before them.

Update: Hey, thanks for your reviews. FYI- laura_bean23 is Frankie and judsonchick2005 is Charlie. Enjoy.

"So where do you think we could find some of these jocks?” asked Dean. Frankie didn’t answer because she was so worried about Charlie. She felt so powerless, but she didn’t want Sam’s premonition to come true.
“She’s going to be fine. She’s in good hands,” Dean said with confidence.
Frankie wiped a tear from her cheek. Stop being such a baby, Frankie. Charlie can handle herself as long as her secret is safe. Dean’s phone chimed stating he received a text message. He flipped open his phone and handed it to Frankie.
“Looks like you taught your sister well because usually Sam can’t stop the ladies from yapping,” chuckled Dean.
“I didn’t teach her that well. Sam’s pretty good looking. She’s probably about to pee in her pants,” laughed Frankie, “I’ll send her a text so she will relax a bit.”
“I hope she has a change of clothes in case she does pee,” smiled Dean. Why do all the chicks go for Sam? He gets both of them! Have I lost it!“The gym would be a typical joint for these guys to blow off steam,” answered Frankie. “I’ll go in and talk with a few---.”
“You’re not leaving my sight,” interrupted Dean, “We stay close so nothing can happen to you.”
Frankie usually would’ve had a comment ready to send back in defense, but something in his voice made her stop. I’ll let him have that one.
“Okay….We’ll just stake it out and see if any jocks come out then go up and talk to them.”
“Do you think they know much?” asked Dean.
“Twelve of their girls have died all the same way and nobody knows anything. I doubt it! Their stock of stupid hot girls is getting lower and lower. Who will they have to be naughty with?”
“True,” agreed Dean, “but there are a lot of jocks who swing the other way.”
“If we don’t stop this then I’m sure they will be singing “We are Family!” and watching Will and Grace,” exclaimed Frankie, “So how long have you and your brother been hunting?”
“Well, my dad raised us as hunters since my mom died,” said Dean.
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. I know how it feels to lose a loved. She died when I was a little girl then my mom married Charlie’s dad. Charlie is my step sister, not that it makes a difference.”
Dean heard the sincerity in her voice and he saw that they had more stuff in common then he thought. Once you get past that tough exterior, she’s a pretty cool chick. But I see that she has to be tough for her sister, I know how she feels. I can never be weak for Sammy.
“Is your dad on another job?”
Dean grimaced. Damn, she’s going to feel even worse. “Umm, no. He died last year.”
“Oh, I’m…..you must hate me now for bringing up this stuff. Sometimes I need to just put my foot in my mouth.” Frankie said embarrassed. Why I am making small talk? I don’t think there’s anything I can say without hurting the poor guy. Well, there’s always beer and cars.“No, it’s cool. I know you didn’t mean anything bad by it.”
“Is this your car?” she asked.
“My dad gave it to me.”
“It’s very smooth.”
“Thanks,” smiled Dean. She sounds like she knows a little about cars. Most girls tell me they like my car, but don’t know the difference between the harmonic balancer and the distributor. It’s so simple!
“Here’s a gym with some tripped out trucks in the parking lot. Only jocks need all of that to make up for what they lack,” Frankie pointed out. “Let’s park near them.”Dean let out a chuckle as he parked the car. She had an interesting way of putting things. He liked it.
“Can I use your back seat?” asked Frankie.
“Just what are you planning to do to get info from these preschoolers?”
Frankie smile with a twist to it. “Just wait and see. Don’t peek” She climbed into the back and started changing clothes. The leather on these seats feels almost like silk.
Dean’s hands were tightening on the steering wheel. He was trying to find something to focus on besides the rear view mirror. Man, my windshield is dirty. How do I see out of this thing? Okay. You’re doing good, Dean. Don’t look at the major hot chick in your backseat. Oh, she smells so good. I’ve had girls in this car before, but usually I’m taking off her clothes. Ten bottles of beer on the wall…ten naked bottles of beer in my backseat…..damn it! Oh, thank God! Jocks are coming! I can’t believe I just thought that!
“Here they come. Are you ready?” asked Dean glancing at the mirror.
“Yeah, but are they ready for me?” answered Frankie
Dean gulped and opened the door. Frankie stepped out of the car wearing a black low cut halter top, skin tight low rise jeans, and black boots. Dean forgot to breathe for a second until he tried to say something. Frankie laughed, “Just the effect I wanted.”
She walked towards the football players and Dean followed slowly still stunned. They stared whistling and high fiving each other. Usually, Frankie would give guys like that a piece of her mind, but she needed them.
“Hi, boys!” she said seductively. “Can I ask you some questions?”
“Baby, you can ask us anything you want,” answered one of them.
“What’s up with the girls around here? Why are they slicin’ and dicin’ on their wrists?” she asked.
“What’s it to you?” asked another one sharply.
”Well, I just was curious about it cause I might be interested in hanging out with you guys. I don’t want the same thing to happen to me," smiled Frankie.
“Well, we wouldn’t want a gorgeous woman like you to hurt yourself,” a big muscled one said as he took at step towards her.
Frankie walked up to the jock that spoke. She ran her fingers through his hair and brought her hand around to his mouth so she could outline his mouth with her finger.
“So tell me so I don’t,” she said softly. They’re totally buying this.
The jocks didn’t even notice Dean was there anymore.
“Well, we all have been breaking up with our girlfriends to check out college chicks or older and..um….more experience beautiful women like yourself,” another jock confessed hoping Frankie would switch to him.
“Whose brilliant idea was this?” asked Frankie running her hands along the same big muscled jock's chest.
He took a deep breath then said, “Kyle Brown. He had it all planned out so we could score big!”
“Why didn’t you stop when the girls starting killing themselves?” she responded.
“We can’t stop them. Besides, why should we suffer through high school just cause they can’t handle being dumped. Kyle even helped them after the break up, but they didn’t listen,” he said nonchalantly.
“Is this Kyle guy new in town?” Dean said finally being getting into the conversation.
The guys blinked at Dean for a second, remembering he was there the whole time.
“Yeah, he got here a few weeks ago. He said this worked for him several times in other places he’s lived. He’s a really awesome guy,” another said who was closer to Dean.
“He sounds like it. I want to meet him. Where could I find him?” asked Frankie. Now we’re getting somewhere!
“He hangs out at the mall a lot. He checks out other potential girls in this town. He lives at the end of Twin Pine Road.”
“Thanks guys. You really have helped me with my decision. See ya later,” she said as she blew them a kiss. Gag me!
“What? Don’t you want to come with us and have some fun?” one responded quickly.
“I can’t right now. I have to go to the church to confess my sins from last night, but maybe later boys.”
Dean gave her a shocked expression as they walked towards the car. Does she really come up with it on her own? I really wanted to be that guy for a second.
“What the hell was that?” Dean said as they neared the car.
“It’s easier to get info out of guys through boobs rather than fists,” she sighed. I may lose some pride, but if it saves those girls then it’s worth it.
“Those poor boys didn’t know what hit’em.”
Frankie stopped and turned towards him. She got stepped closer and closer to him till their lips were inches from each other. Frankie batted her lashes and whispered, “They aren’t the only ones that didn’t know what hit’em.” She turned and got in the car. Dean was frozen for a few seconds. He didn’t even realize he puckered his lips out a little. When he regained himself, he turned, walked to the car, and got in. I need a cold shower, bad!
As they pulled up to the hotel, she reached back to get her clothes that she changed out of. She noticed Dean checking her out from the corner of his eye. It made her blush a little, which surprised her because she doesn’t find many men appealing. Mostly, she thinks they are all jerks, but Dean doesn’t seem to fit into her usual categories.
“So let’s go inside and wait on the others. Let’s go to my room,” ordered Frankie.
“You still don’t trust me even though I didn’t look at you changing in the backseat!”
“No, I trust you, but I need to change into something more comfortable so unless you want me naked in your room then we’ll go in mine so I can change in the bathroom.”
Dean hesitated for a second or two.
“The naked thing sounds good to me,” grinned Dean.
Frankie laughed. “Come on,” she said as she pulled him towards her room. As Frankie was unlocking the door Dean cracked another grin and said, “I thought I was up to the challenge. High marks and all.” Frankie whipped around in shock. “You heard that! You were inside the diner!”
“Well, the window in the diner was cracked open so we couldn’t help overhear our future victims.”
“Future victims?” Frankie asked puzzled.
“Didn’t Charlie say ‘who would you rather be killed by?”
“Oh yeah…um….I’m gonna change,” grimaced Frankie as she walked in the room and immediately went to the bathroom.
“So does Sam have premonitions a lot?” she asked through the door.
“Yeah, but it’s not always clear.”
“It must be a scary power to have. See people dying or hurt all the time.”
“He’s tough.”
“Like you,” she laughed as she came out of the bathroom, “A bunch of tough guys.”
She was wearing jeans that weren’t so tight and a green blouse. Dean couldn’t help, but notice that the green shirt really made her blue eyes pop out.
“What?” she said wondering why he was looking at her weird.
“Um….you look nice. I like this look on you better than the other,” replied Dean.
“Really? Most guys usually like the other more,” she said surprisingly.
“Well, I usually do too, but not on you. Now, don’t get me wrong you looked….you looked very, very nice, but this is more you, what you’re wearing right now.”
“Oh, thanks, Dean.” He’s being so sweet. What’s up with him? He must be trying to get in my pants. Not that I wouldn’t mind, but once this case is over he’ll leave and I’ll never see him again. No, I won’t let it happen. Keep the walls up, Frankie. Watch for any weak areas.
“You’re welcome,” grinned Dean.
What the hell am I saying? Why am I acting like Sam? I don’t say this kind of lovey dovey crap, but I did enjoy seeing her blush at what I said. “I’m gonna text Sam to tell him we are back at the hotel.”
“Alright. I’m gonna catch some z’s while we wait so I’ll be fresh when all this goes down.”
“Good idea."

Charlie waited for Sam to round the truck and get in. Sam got situated and then looked over at Charlie curiously. She was plastered against her door and she sat rigidly upright concentrating on her driving. Sam grinned to himself then cleared his throat.
“So um…Where to first?” Sam asked cautiously. Charlie handed him one of the two scraps of paper that sat in her lap. “Ok. Hannah Jacobs,” Sam said as he looked at the slip of paper. “So how do you think we should approach this?” Charlie said nothing but shrugged her shoulders. “We can’t really tell the truth because we don’t know what is going on.” Sam said thoughtfully. Charlie had no reply.
“So are you not going to talk to me this whole time?” Sam asked annoyed. He got his cell out and moved his thumbs over the numbers. A moment later Charlie’s phone chimed, Charlie looked at her phone. [You can talk just don’t tell any secrets.] She put away the phone and started to loosen up.
“Feel better now?” Sam asked.
“I wasn’t trying to be rude. I would just rather be safe than sorry. It’s been a long time since we’ve been separated. It’s weird for me. I’m sorry,” Charlie talked with her hands and then looked to see if Sam accepted her apology.
“You don’t really think that me and my brother are crazy psycho killers, do you?” Sam asked innocently.
“What gave you that idea?” Charlie asked wide eyed.
“Just something we overheard,” Sam said nonchalantly.
“You were spying on us. You stalker,” Charlie gasped as she tightened her grip on the steering wheel.
“No, the window was cracked at the diner. We couldn’t help, but hear what you said. Not that you were whispering.” Sam explained with a chuckle. “So which one of us would you want to be killed by?” Sam asked as he turned his body to watch her response. This should be interesting.
“Neither, I would rather live,” Charlie smiled. You, but I’m not saying that out loud.
“Interesting answer. How long have you two been in town?”
“Not long before you guys came in the diner. We got a room then went to eat. Why?” Charlie wondered how that was relevant.
“We thought you had been here longer the way you acted like the waitresses were your best friends. Usually hunters try to keep out of sight.” Sam said as he looked out the window.
“Yeah, Frankie gets on me about that. In this line of work friends are far and few between. Why not make the loneliness more bearable?” Charlie asked. Not that I’m lonely. Well, I have Frankie. Who needs a boy? Not me!
They reached Hannah Jacobs house. Charlie parked the truck and slid out. Sam did the same and paused. Charlie did the same and looked over at him.
“If romances aren’t your favorite movies, what is?” Sam asked curious.
“Resident Evil. I love the whole zombie thing,” Charlie answered with a grin.
“You are really willing to give up the sex scenes? Guys even watch chick flicks just for the sex scene,” Sam said mockingly as he shook his head.
“You can only appreciate what you’ve experienced,” Charlie mumbled before they reached the door. Just as Sam reached up to knock on the door it opened. A good looking teenage boy with a letterman jacket opened the door. He was startled to see someone on the other side of the threshold.
“Excuse us. Is Hannah home?” Sam asked. As soon as he had asked screaming was heard from upstairs. Charlie and Sam bolted up the stairs. From the top landing, they could see a teenage girl beating on one of the doors as she screamed for Hannah. Sam caught her as she reached the door way. One shrill scream was heard before Sam grabbed her and held against his chest. Sam looked at Charlie who stood in the doorway looking at Hannah.
Charlie returned his look and motioned for him to take the girl downstairs. Sam took a couple of steps helping the girl find her way through her tears and sobs. Sam looked back at Charlie when he got to the stairs. Charlie was watching him with tears in her eyes. He turned back and made his way down the stairs. Charlie went into the room and closed the door behind quickly. She knelt beside Hannah and checked her pulse. She was still alive, but slipping fast. Charlie grabbed two towels and wrapped each of her wrists in a towel. She then rested her hand over Hannah’s heart. Charlie closed her eyes and relaxed. A glowing light came from her hand and filled the room slowly then disappeared suddenly. Charlie fell sideways on the floor into a heap as Hannah opened her eyes and inhaled deeply. Sam came to the doorway and saw the two girls on the floor. One he knew to be dead and the other he had no idea.
“Charlie! Charlie! Are you ok?” he yelled as her ran to her side and pulled her in his arms. After a moment, Charlie opened her eyes slowly and weakly tried to stand, Sam helped her. Just then Hannah mumbled, “You saved me.”
“The ambulance is on its way,” Sam said, “Just be still and relax.”
“Are you an angel?” Hannah asked groggily.
“Of course not! I’m not even good with band aids! I fainted from the blood.” Charlie tried to say jokingly. If only that were the case, I would take that any day. Hmmm… or would I.
“Why don’t you wait in the hall?” Sam said concerned. Charlie nodded her head and made her way to the hall. She could hear the girl talking to Sam.
“She’s an angel. Don’t let her lie to you! What else could bring me back?” Hannah asked.
“Just take it easy,” Sam said sweetly. The rest of the conversation was covered by the sirens and then the EMT’s. During the chaos, Charlie had moved outside to sit in the bed of her truck.
“Are you alright?” Sam asked as he sat beside her.
“Yup, I’m fine and you?” Charlie asked politely.
“Fine, I guess,” Sam responded giving Charlie a curious look.
“How are the girls?”
“Hannah is stable. The other girl, Jennifer, was pretty shaken up, but she will be fine. Are you sure you’re gonna be ok?”
“Yes. Why are you so concerned anyway?” Charlie snapped. She was getting annoyed with his borderline babying. She gets enough of that from Frankie.
“Well, I really don’t want Frankie to hunt me down. She’s pretty scary.”
“You should see her on her period. That’s beyond scary.”
Jennifer walked over to them with a blanket around her shoulders.
“I just wanted to thank you for helping us.” She said as she looked at Sam. She then stepped forward and kissed him on the lips. Charlie sat watching with her mouth hanging open. Instantly, Charlie slipped off the truck and laid her keys where she sat. She then walked carefully to the cab and got in on the passenger side. A moment later, Sam slid in beside her and closed the door. He sat for a split second then rubbed his face and hair with a hand. He looked over at Charlie who had her back facing him with her head leaned on the head rest. Sam turned the key and headed for the hotel. The drive was silent all the way back except when Sam called Dean.
That male hoe! He totally just kissed a high school girl. She just had a traumatic experience. What do I care? It’s not like I really care what helpless victim he sucks face with. I just feel sorry for the girl.
At the motel, Sam parked the truck and rushed over to help Charlie out.
“I don’t need your help,” Charlie hissed.
“Stop being stubborn. Use me for support,” he said as he snaked one hand around Charlie’s waist. Charlie couldn’t breathe the entire time. This is simply because I am tired. It has nothing to do with a gorgeous guy being so close. Nope, absolutely not when his name is Sam.********************************************************************

laura_dean23 - January 8, 2009 10:29 PM (GMT)
The air was cold. The wind made it feel like ice. I’m searching for something…something that can reveal the truth. My hands are feeling the cold air trying to grab hold. Suddenly something warm grabs my hand and starts leading me….leading me to the light to the truth, who’s leading me?
“Rise and shine,” said Dean, “Sam called. They’ll be here any minute.”
“Oh, great! Did they find the girls?”
“Yeah, more than that. They saved one of the girls. She slit her wrists and Sam called the ambulance. Charlie fainted because of the blood,” answered Dean.
Frankie sprang out of bed. Oh, God! I knew this would happen! “What? She fainted! Is she okay? Sam’s not taking her to the hospital, is he?”
“No, she’s fine. They left after the girl was taken to the hospital,” responded Dean.
Knock Knock
Frankie rushed to open the door. Sam was holding up very weak Charlie.
“Charlie, are you ok?” Frankie asked.
“Yeah. I just need to rest,” Charlie whispered. Sam helped her to the bed. He started to help her take of her red pea coat but Charlie just snuggled on the bed.
“Are you comfortable?” Sam asked as he leaned down toward her. Charlie glared at him then turned over. I don’t need your help! She felt him pull the covers up over her. Sam then walked toward the door where Frankie and Dean were talking.
“Does she usually get this sick from the sight of blood?” Dean asked.
“She’ll be fine. She just needs to rest. So what did you find?” Frankie asked not willing to explain.
“Kyle Brown was leaving when we got there. I talked to Jennifer and according to her Kyle talked to Hannah alone. When he was leaving, Jennifer went to talk to Hannah she started talking about killing herself. What about you two?” Sam asked.
“The guys are breaking up with their girlfriends so they can go after older girls. Kyle is the brains of the operation so I’ll go out on a limb and say he’s our guy.” Dean answered.
“I don’t believe this is all about hooking up with older women maybe the jocks believe that, but Kyle has other plans,” Frankie added.
“Okay so what can he get from twelve girls killing themselves?” asked Dean.
“Power,” mumbled Charlie weakly. They all turned to look at her. “Power beyond just killing people.”
“Right. He guides this whole thing he tells a guy to break it off with his girlfriend. He acts like he’s going to console the girls, but really he pushes them to kill themselves,” Frankie said.
“Why doesn’t he just work at a teen line or something?” I’m sure there are plenty of crazy chicks wanting to off themselves,” Dean joked.
“More,” Charlie mumbled again.
“More what?” asked Frankie. But Charlie wouldn’t say anymore. She drifted asleep to find strength somewhere from within.
“She’s out. Good. She’s starting to sound loopy unless she meant more power. He gets more power if he’s more connected to the person. They trust him. Trust can be powerful.”
“That might be it. We need to ugh AHHHHHH....” Sam grabs his head and starts to fall back till Dean grabs a hold of him and helps him to a chair.
“What’s up with him?” asked Frankie freaked.
“He’s having a premonition. He’ll be okay.”
“Is it always painful for him?” asked Frankie concerned. Dean nodded not looking away from his brother. Sam finally took a deep breath. “He’s going after Jennifer tomorrow night. We have to find her and protect her from him. I’ll go find her since I’ve already met her.”
“Dude, you’re not going by yourself,” ordered Dean.
“Do you want to leave them here and let my other premonition to come true?” snapped Sam.
“Okay. Go. Call me when you’ve found her,” Dean said quickly knowing Sam was right. Sam grabbed the keys off the table and ran out the door.
“So what do we do now?” asked Frankie trying to take in all the information. Dean gave her a wide grin.
“You wish!” Frankie said replying to his look. As she turned towards Charlie, he let out a sigh. What was I thinking? Her sister is asleep and I know she’s concerned about her. I’m such a jerk! Now she thinks I’m one of those guys who just want sex….Well, I usually am, but not to her. Why is that?
She sat on the bed next to Charlie and pushed her curly locks away from her face.
“You’re so helpless,” she whispered, “You can’t keep doing this to me.”
“She’s stronger than you give her credit for. Everybody has a weak spot of some sort,” Dean remarked.
“Oh yeah. What’s Dean um…what’s your last name?”
“Winchester, like the gun.”
Frankie giggled a little. “That’s ironic. You being a hunter.”
“Yeah, I guess it is. Well, I guess I’m weak when it comes to flying.”
“Flying. That’s so normal. “
“What about you?” Dean asked.
“Cats. They’re evil!” confessed Frankie
“Cats. Are you joking?”
“Why would I joke about that? Cats are unpredictable. You never know what they’ll do next. They’re too independent.”
“Okay, I guess I see that. So is there anything besides cats?”
“Well, I guess men scare me to a point.”
“Men. Why?”
“They are unpredictable too. You give them your heart one day and they sell it on eBay the next.”
“EBay? Is that a new store?”
“You’ve never heard of eBay! It’s a website where you can buy or sell stuff.”
“Oh,” said Dean. Isn’t that’s what stores are for?
“So do I scare you away?” mumbled Dean.
“What? I can’t hear you mumbler. I have a hearing loss remember,” Frankie said annoyed. I hate when that happens.
“Oh, I forgot. Sorry about that,” said Dean, “Does your eyes really make up for your hearing problem?”I’m going to let that question slip.
“Yes and no. Sometimes I feel I would trade my power for normal hearing, but I realize that I’m meant to have this disability so I can have the ability to see the truth.”
“Is this a family trait?” asked Dean.
“Yes. My grandmother and my dad had the same abilities.”
“What did you mean about seeing the truth?”
“My eyes see beyond what your eyes can. I see the auras of people. I see the goodness of them and the wickedness.” Sometimes I see more than I want to.
“I would’ve never guessed you had a hearing loss.”
“Well, I try to pay attention. I look at people’s facial expressions mostly. Body movement and especially their eyes. Eyes tell me everything.”
“What are mine telling you?” grinned Dean.
Frankie walked to the bed where he was sitting and sat next to him. She looked into his eyes and he looked into hers. Damn. I hope she doesn’t really see the truth. Dean Winchester falling for her. She’d probably laugh.
“Hmm,” There’s so much loss and pain. Sam is a huge part of him. All he wants is a normal life. It’s amazing how so many people take their normal boring lives for granted.
“What?” asked Dean. Frankie leaned in real close. She stroked the side of his face with her fingertips.
“That you’re horny for any girl around, but I really think you need to get some sleep.” She said as she dropped her hand to her side and got off the bed.
Dean grabbed her hand. “Who said I wanted any girl?” Good Job, Dean. It’s good your new feelings are still buried, but make her feel like a slut is so much better.
“Well, you’re not adding me to your list of conquests, pal,” she said as she pulled her hand free. “It’s nothing against you. I have denied a lot of guys these past three years so don’t take it personally. Dean stood up and walked towards the door.
“I’ll see you in the morning good night.” She thinks I’m a jerk. I should go before I say more asshole things.
“Wait. I can’t let you leave mad for some reason.” Why do I even care? What’s happening to me?
Dean stopped with the door open. He turned around and said, “Then don’t let me leave.” Just give me a crumb of hope.
Frankie felt an urge in her body that she hadn’t felt in a long time. He’s so handsome. It’s been so long. Wait a second, Charlie is lying in the bed weak and Sam will be back soon. This can’t happen. I just met this guy!
Dean started to turn. No time to think, Frankie. Just do something against your rules for once.
Frankie stopped the door from closing, pulled Dean back into her room locked the door and pulled him into the bathroom.
Dean pulled Frankie to him and pressed his lips to hers passionately. Frankie felt like her legs were going to go limp. Dean suddenly picked her up and put her on the countertop. The sounds of clothes being ripped off echoed out of the bathroom. Good thing Charlie was asleep. Frankie could barely breathe as his lips glided down the side of her neck.
“You feel so good,” he sighed out between kisses. So do you I wanted to say, but I couldn’t talk all I could do was feel his warmth….the warmth of his hands. They felt familiar for some reason. What the hell am I doing?
“Hold it. Wait. I can’t do this,” exclaimed Frankie. Dean regained himself before he spoke.
“What’s wrong?” asked Dean. Frankie tried to cover up, but the blouse was ripped pretty bad.
“I don’t usually do this with a guy I just met, but you smell so good and I feel so much heat from you,” exclaimed Frankie.
“So what’s the hold up?” as he leaned in to kiss her again.
“You’ll never remember me, will you?” she asked in a low tone.
“I don’t think I could forget you, Frankie.” I don’t want to.
“You’ll be moving on after this job and they’ll be nothing, but the pain that I try my damndest to stay away from,” she exhaled.
“What are you saying? You want to date? You don’t know what you’re asking,” he said with a half smile.
“Don’t say it like that! I’m a woman, not some high school love sick fool. I’m not saying I want to date you. I’m just telling you I can’t have casual sex and feel okay about it in the morning.”
Frankie slipped off the counter and walked out of the bathroom to put on another shirt. Dean came out of the bathroom. Frankie looked up at him and couldn’t help but giggle a little. “You look like you were attacked.” Dean looked at his shirt and chuckled. “Um, I’m going to go. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Ok. See ya then,” replied Frankie.
Dean hesitated at the door for a second then turned and left. Frankie’s mind was spinning. What the hell was I thinking? Why didn’t I just let him leave? I let a wall down! Why? What makes him different than any other guy who’s come on to me? Oh, I can’t think about this right now. I need to get some sleep.
Frankie was putting on her night clothes when suddenly the door opened. Frankie grabbed a towel and her gun on the floor. She was using the bed as a shield and she took aim at the intruder. “Don’t shoot!” yelled Dean with his hands in the air.
“What the hell are you doing? You don’t burst through someone’s room especially someone who owns guns.”
“I’m sorry. I came back to ask if Jennifer can stay with you guys. Sam found her and wants to keep her close.”
“Can I put some clothes on first?” snapped Frankie.
“You’re not bothering me,” grinned Dean. Dean turned around to face the door.
“You know you could knock! Didn’t your dad teach some manners,” she grumbled.
“No, he taught me how to use a Ruger Model 44 rifle instead. It’s not like I haven’t seen you naked.”
“You didn’t get the whole show and I would like to keep it that way,” grimaced Frankie. She looked at Dean facing the door. Too bad I didn’t get to see his cut butt. I wish my eyes had X-ray vision.
“Okay, I’m decent.”
Dean turned around and walked toward Charlie.
“She still out, huh,” he stated.
“Yeah, it takes a lot out of her,” replied Frankie.
“Just because of a little blood. How is she able to be a hunter?”
“She can handle herself fine. So where’s Sam?” she asked quickly changing the subject. I almost said too much. Dean is getting to me too much and too fast.
Knock. Knock
“Come in,” said Frankie. Sam and a young girl, who I assumed must be Jennifer, came through the door.
“See, he knows how to knock.”
“Hi, my name is Holly, and you must be Jennifer,” smiled Frankie.
“You might as well tell her your real name, Frankie,” exclaimed Dean. “It makes it so much easier for Sam and me.” Frankie gave him a quick look to warn him from saying anymore. How do they not get their throat slit at while they sleep?
“So Jennifer you can sleep on my bed and I’ll bunk with Charlie,” she offered.
“Why don’t I just stay with Sam and Dean so you won’t have to be uncomfortable?” retorted Jennifer smiling at Sam.
“Um..I don’t think that’s such a good idea,” Frankie said shocked at the idea.
“Why not? Nobody knows I’m here,” she said confidently. Frankie wondered how she can explain this to a hormonal teenager.
“Because you never want to lose your virginity during a scary movie like the one you’re in now. Those girls are always the first to die,” Frankie said with the most serious face she would muster.
“Oh my God! You are so right!” agreed Jennifer. “Thanks so much. Do you mind if I use your bathroom to change?”
“No, go ahead,” replied Frankie.
Jennifer walked to the bathroom. “Who’s ripped up shirt is this?” asked Jennifer from the bathroom.
“Ah, mine just throw it in the garbage,” Frankie responded embarrassed.
“Did something attack you?” asked Jennifer.
Dean focused on Frankie’s face until she locked eyes with him.
“Yeah, a big ugly dog jumped on me and ripped my shirt. I should call the pound to get it put to sleep.”
Frankie looked at Sam and turned beat red. She forgot he was there. Sam looked at Dean as soon as Frankie’s back was turned. Damn it, Dean! What did you do? These are not the same type of girls you hook up with.
“Well guys, I’ll see ya in the morning. Good night,” she said as she opened the door to signal them to leave.
“Goodnight, Frankie. Let me know if you need anything. Charlie might need some pain reliever when she wakes up,” said Sam.
“She’ll be fine, Romeo. I’ll let her know you care,” smiled Frankie.
Sam walked out of the door and went to his room ready to question Dean.
“Good night kiss?” asked Dean puckering up. Just one.
“Maybe I should call a pest service instead,” replied Frankie crossing her arms.
“We had a moment whether you want to admit it or not.”
“The moment has passed by and so should you.” I want to kiss you, but I can’t. This can go no further.
“You’re a pain in the ass, you know. I’m being a lot more open with you then I usually am to women at least.” I’m making an effort here! I’ve been burned before. This really isn't my kind of thing.
“So you’re saying I should have sex with you because you’re being open. Let’s go big boy!”
“Ha. Ha.” She hates me!
“By the way, you owe me twenty bucks for the blouse you ripped. Good night,” she hissed as she slammed the door in his face.
Dean turned to his room and noticed Sam standing in the door way of their room.
“Not now, Sam.” Time for his “It’s share time!” crap.
“I didn’t say anything,” grinned Sam. “Not that I’m not glad you’re opening yourself up to a girl, but what are you doing?”
“Nothing. We didn’t do....much. She stopped before we did.”
“She stopped? How could she stop herself against the powerful forces of Dean Winchester? You’ve met your match!” laughed Sam. “How do you feel about her?”
“I don’t know, man. I just met her. I like her is all. It doesn’t mean we’re planning our honeymoon.”
“Don’t you have to have the wedding before the honeymoon?”
“Not the way I see it. Skip the boring speeches and uncomfortable tuxes and move straight into the good stuff.”
“Dean, I know you more than you think. Just admit that you are having stronger feelings for her than you expected.”
“What’s the point? Stop trying to turn this into a ‘Days of Our Lives’ moment.”
“She won’t run away. She knows what we do, and she does it too! You guys have a whole lot in common and she has a mouth like you,” said Sam ignoring his remark.
“Night, Romeo.”
“What?”
“I’m not the only one putting on the moves,” Dean said with a grin. Sam gave him a small smile.
“No, but your already doing better than me,” Sam said running his hand through his hair.
“Tomorrow’s a new day, Sammy boy. You might just get lucky if Charlie doesn’t faint again.”
“Jerk.”
“Bitch.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Frankie climbs in bed with Charlie sleeping silently.
“So we’re safe, right?” asked Jennifer jumping on the other bed.
“Safe as a cashier in a gas station,” answered Frankie. We’re never safe.
“Huh?”
“Yes, we’re safe. I’ve got plenty of firepower if anything comes our way.”
Jennifer gave Frankie a nervous smile as she got under the covers.
“Hey, I just had an idea! Can you do me a favor tomorrow?”
“Sure. What is it?”
“Can you flirt with Dean tomorrow? I’ll give you twenty bucks.”
“Why would I want to do that?” asked Jennifer surprised.
“To keep his annoying self away from me and earn twenty bucks.”
“I don’t think so. Sam will think I don’t like him anymore.”
“No, it will make him jealous. It makes the heart grow fonder.”
“Hundred bucks.”
“What? Are you kidding me?” Frankie gasped, “Thirty-five.”
“Seventy-five.”
“Fifty.”
“Deal,” said Jennifer.
“Can you pull this off?” asked Frankie raising an eyebrow.
“Honey, I’ve got the moves,” answered Jennifer as she turned out the light.
“Night, my accomplice.”
“Night, Frankie.”
Frankie drifted off to sleep.
It was cold again and the wind made it sting on my cheeks. It felt like razor blades. I’m searching. The truth is hidden under the coldness….somewhere deep. I need help! My hands are searching, feeling for something besides the cold. Suddenly warmth touches my hand. It glides down from my palm to my fingertips. It surrounds my hands and starts pulling me. It’s pulling me away from the cold, toward the light. Who is it? I focus my eyes on the figure holding my hands.
“Ah!” Frankie sprang out of bed. “Dean!”
Charlie woke up the next morning to an annoying up beat muffled tone and something vibrating in her back pocket. She turned over, pulled the phone out, and turned off the alarm in one quick motion. She sat up but her body was sore from yesterday. It takes so much out of her to heal someone especially if they are near death like Hannah. As she sat up, she felt someone in the bed beside her. There was Frankie sprawled out hogging most of the bed. Confused Charlie saw someone familiar in the other bed. There Jennifer lay sleeping soundly. Charlie let out an annoyed breath. This was totally unlike her. She usually treated everyone really well but for some reason when Jennifer kissed Sam it made Charlie not want to be nice to her anymore. Charlie just get over it. Whatever it is.
Charlie went to shower and change her clothes. When she came out, Frankie and Jennifer were up and eating food at the table.
“Hungry?” Frankie asked. Charlie shook her head as she put away her stuff. “You know it helps. Come on,” urged Frankie.
“You went for breakfast.”
“Of course not. Sam brought it. The guys will be back in a bit. Sam wanted to finish some research and Dean wasn’t awake yet,” Frankie explained.
“Oh, Sam had a premonition about Jennifer so we got her last night so we could keep an eye on her,” Frankie finished.
Charlie grabbed some food and sat on the bed. A second later there was a knock on the door. Charlie looked through the peep hole then opened the door. Sam walked in as Charlie returned to the table and put her biscuit down.
“Dean’s getting dressed. He’ll be here in a minute,” Sam said as he closed the door. One hand was full of papers and with the other he grabbed a biscuit
“No rush,” Frankie said to Sam. “Charlie. Food. Eat. Now,” she said as she made a gesture for each word.
“I lost my appetite,” Charlie said as she started to put on her socks and shoes. Frankie gave her a look filled with confusion and suspicion.
“Ok so Sammy. What do you got?” Frankie asked.
“There are stories and folklore about things that feed off of certain emotions,” Sam started as he sat beside Charlie. “Some feed off of happiness others anger.”
“Like dementors from Harry Potter?” Frankie asked as she crumbled her wrapper up.
“Yeah something like that,” Sam said before he continued, “I found one that feeds off of lovelessness. It matches what is going on in this town. This Kyle guy is feeding off of the love that is lost when these girls kill themselves.”
“These girls weren’t in love. They’re only in high school,” Frankie said surprised.
“Frankie, you know that you can be in love no matter how old you are,” Charlie said lamely. Sam glanced at Charlie then at Frankie.
“Ok. Well, how do we deal with him?” questioned Frankie.
“All I can find out is that it takes a force of equal, but opposite power. I’m not sure what it means and all the info is really vague,” Sam answered as he flipped through the handful of pages.
“So Kyle’s power comes from the emotion of lovelessness. That means the equal but opposite power of love. Doesn’t seem that difficult to figure out to me,” said Charlie as she stood and straightened her bed.
“Yeah, well, I get that, but unless you have an army of Care Bears, the thing we are missing is the force itself,” Sam said looking up at Charlie. Why is she being so pissy with me? What did I do?
“Alright, Samster, thanks for the update. Why don’t you give us some girl time? We’ll be ready in a half an hour. You can fill your brother in on what you found out,” Frankie started looking at Charlie, but finished looking at Sam to make sure he got the message. Something is obviously going on and Frankie wanted to get to the bottom of it. Sam stood up and paused as he looked at Charlie.
“Yeah, alright,” he said as he walked to the door.
“Oh, and don’t let your brother come over unsupervised. He doesn’t know how to knock,” Frankie commented. Also the fact that I don’t want him near me.
With that said Sam left and the girls were left alone. Charlie went to the mirror to look and decide how much make up was needed for today.
“Um…Jennifer, why don’t you go take a shower,” Frankie suggested.
“Ok and then I’ll go find Dean,” Jennifer said as she grabbed a duffle bag and headed to the bathroom. Charlie’s eyes got big and when the bathroom door shut she took a deep breath. Frankie walked over and sat beside her.
“What’s going on with you and Sam?” Frankie asked.
“Nothing,” Charlie answered as she applied mascara. That’s the problem. Wait, why is that a problem?
“That was not anything. My ears might not work well, but my ears are fine. You don’t usually snap at people like that. And what was that reaction to Jennifer. You need to spill,” forced Frankie.
“Last night before we left Hannah’s house, Jennifer kissed Sam. She’s like 17 and he’s like 23. She’s not even legal,” Charlie fumed.
“Exactly, what are you mad about? The fact that she kissed him or she’s not legal? Did Sam kiss her back?” Frankie asked trying to figure out the situation.
“I didn’t stay long enough to find out,” Charlie answered, “I got into the truck before I puked.”
“So you’re mad that you weren’t the one kissing him,” Frankie asked finally understanding.
“Don’t worry about it. I got ya covered on that one. We have a hired hit man, his name is Grant. He’ll take care of the Jennifer and Sam thing,” Frankie said confidently.
“Wait a minute. Who gets the fifty?” Charlie asked looking at Frankie puzzled.
“Let’s just say, I redirected adolescent hormones to someone who deserves it,” Frankie said with an evil laugh.
“It doesn’t matter anyway. It’s not like he grew feelings for me the minute he saw me or anything. That is the kind of crap that happens on those stupid movies,” Charlie paused, “Do you know what today is?” Charlie asked changing the subject.
“You’re a sucky sister for reminding me,” Frankie replied annoyed.
“Oh, just shoot me in the head,” Charlie grumbled, “Hey, I wanted to tell you something about last night,” Charlie said as walked over to sit on the bed.
Frankie grabbed the biscuit Charlie had earlier and handed it to her as she sat.
“Eat and talk,” Frankie ordered. What’s with the subject changes?
“Well, you know I healed Hannah last night.”
“Yeah, figured that when you came back comatose,” stated Frankie.
“Anyway, so the girl conscious after I healed her and Sam came in and she told him I was an angel,” Charlie said concerned.
“Your halo is held up by your horns,” snickered Frankie.
“I’m serious,” Charlie snapped, “That is something we haven’t thought about. This whole job gives me a funny feeling. We can figure out random job about guys with crazy powers, but we can’t figure out this freak power I have.”
“I think I’m on to that,” Frankie stared, “You know the dream I have all the time about searching for something in the cold darkness.”
“Yeah, what about it?” Charlie said. Please don’t tell me it turned into a wet dream. No details!
“It changed. Something warm grabbed my hands and lead me towards the light…to the truth…your truth,” exclaimed Frankie.
“Who was leading you?” asked Charlie interested.
“At first, I couldn’t see who it was. When I was able to focus I saw Dean leading me to the light and he told me he was here to help …to find the answers we have been searching for.”
Charlie starred at Frankie for a while not knowing what to say. Are you kidding me? Dean!
“Are you kidding me? Dean! Was this another kind of dream that you confused with this one?” Charlie said not wanting to believe it.
“No, I’m serious! I think they can help us,” exclaimed Frankie.
“Really now you think Dean and Sam have the answer to my freak power,” Charlie stopped.
Jennifer came out of the bathroom. Frankie and Charlie both turned to her. She stopped in the doorway and looked at them.
“What?” she asked.
“Nothing. Don’t you have something you should be doing?” Frankie asked as she pulled out the $50 bill. “You ain’t getting something for nothing.”
“Don’t worry. I’m on it,” Jennifer said as she walked past the girls and out the door. As soon as the door closed Charlie started.
“Dean. He is the answer to my big mystery. I don’t believe this,” Charlie said as she and looked at Frankie.
“I thought you would be happy. Maybe there is more to them than meets the eye. I don’t think I would dream something like that unless it meant something,” Frankie tried to explain.
“Something other than it’s been a while for you and you have a thing for Dean so you dream about him, “Charlie countered still unbelieving.”
“Look, we don’t know anything about your healing thing but didn’t you once say that you would do anything to solve your mystery. I’ve taken care of you since forever and I’m going to keep on taking care of you. Trust me and let’s see where this road leads ok?”
“Do I really have a choice? You know this is crap,” Charlie said as she flopped on the bed. She still wasn’t to her usual strength.
“I’m gonna get showered and dressed,” Frankie said as she grabbed her duffle and went to the bathroom.
A little while later there was a knock on the door. Frankie went to the door and looked in the peep hole before opening the door. She went back to the mirror without greeting the person that walked in.
“You guys ready?” Sam asked before he caught a glimpse of Charlie resting.
“Yeah. Hang a minute,” Frankie replied with a final look in the mirror.
“Are you sure she’s ok?” Sam asked concerned.
“She’s fine,” Frankie said protectively as she walked to where Sam stood and walked with him out the door.
“So what’s the game plan?” Frankie asked trying to distract Sam.
“We’re gonna split up and try to find Kyle. Dean said the guys you talked to mentioned he hung out at the mall and where he lived. Do you think Charlie is up to this? Maybe she should stay here?” Sam suggested.
“Sammy, here’s a hint about Charlie. She doesn’t like to be babied. She’ll be fine. Trust me. I’ve taken care of her for as long as I can remember,” Frankie told Sam just as Charlie came out of the room.
“Now, what are we doing?” Charlie asked weakly.
“We were thinking the same teams as yesterday,” Sam said as he walked between the Impala and the truck. Dean was sitting in the driver’s seat of the car listening to Highway to Hell with Jennifer sitting beside him.
“Frankie, I need sister time,” Charlie nearly whined. This caught Frankie off guard.
“We can’t put all you girls together,” Sam said, “You are possible hits.”
“I’ll go with Dean,” Jennifer piped in as she wrapped both of her arms around one of Dean’s. “Why don’t you two go with Sam?” Dean carefully removed Jennifer’s arms and got out of the car.
“You two need to be separated,” Dean said in a hoarse whisper, “You were the first ones that Sam saw. You’re the reason we are here.”
“Fine,” Charlie said too tired to discuss it anymore. She carefully walked to the other side of the Impala and got in the front seat beside Dean. The other three followed her with their eyes. They were all confused with this different pairing.
“We will check out the mall,” Dean said as he turned to get in the car after glancing at Frankie.
“No, you should take his house so Charlie won’t have to walk so much,” Sam suggested as he caught a look from Charlie.
“Alright, call me if you find anything,” Dean said as he got in and revved the engine making eye contact with Frankie and winking.
Dean, Charlie, and Jennifer rode out to Kyle’s house in silence. The radio played and Dean drummed his fingers on the steering wheel as he drove. Jennifer changed positions so that she could run her hand though Dean’s hair. He nicely brought her hand down to rest in her lap but she held on to his hand the rest of the ride. Charlie and Dean shared a look when this happened.
A while later, they arrived at a rundown manor in the middle of nowhere. Dean parked out front on the overgrown circle drive. As soon as the car was parked Dean smoothly slid out of the car and closed the door. Charlie weakly opened the door and climbed out. She took a minute while Jennifer climbed out behind her so that she could take a gander at the manor.
“I feel like Christiana Ricci in Casper,” Charlie commented.
“I knew it looked familiar,” Dean mentioned as she stood beside Charlie.
“Exactly what are we doing here?” Jennifer asked as she closed the car door and moved to stand beside Dean. Dean started walking before she could make her move.
“Clues about this guy,” Dean said as he walked with Jennifer following closely behind. He stopped as he got to the door and Jennifer ran into him. Charlie was slowly making her way up the steps when Dean looked back.
“You comin’?” Dean asked.
“You got a key?” Charlie countered. Dean turned to the door and turned the knob the door opened with a creek.
“Very creepy,” Dean commented.
“Anyone home?” he yelled. There was no answer so he went in. He slowly walked in a few steps then waited beside the door for the girls to come in.
“Don’t go far,” he warned looking at Charlie.
“I’m staying right beside you,” Jennifer squeaked as she took Dean’s hand in both of hers.
“Come on,” he said as he started to snoop around.
There was nothing out of the ordinary on the first floor or the second. The second floor had another flight of stairs that led to the next level. Charlie sat on the bottom step resting for a minute while Dean and Jennifer walked through the last room off the second floor. Finally, they met up with Charlie and Dean squatted in front of her.
“Are you ok?” Dean asked.
“Yeah, I just need to rest a minute,” Charlie told him. I almost feel like myself again.
“So this is your reaction to blood?” Dean asked as he sat beside her. Jennifer made herself at home in his lap. Dean didn’t know what to do so he leaned back and rested his elbows on the next step so his hands did no roaming.
“So this is your reaction to redirected raging adolescent hormones?” Charlie snapped then realized what she said. Crap! Well, Dean probably won’t connect the dots.
Dean looked at Charlie with a cocked eyebrow. Charlie tried to save the moment with a quick thought.
“Are we going to just sit here all day?” Charlie asked as she stood and started to walk up the steps to the attic. Within a minute, Dean and Jennifer followed. Charlie walked through the door of the attic to find a wall filled with pictures of girls. Charlie walked to the wall quickly. Jennifer stood beside her with her mouth hanging open. They looked at the twelve pictures of girls with red X’s on them the last one looked as though it was practically ripped off the wall.
“These are the girls on the cheer squad,” Jennifer said with a hand over her mouth.
“Talk about organized crime. Here are the twelve victims,” Charlie pointed out. Dean walked over and stood in front of the picture that was ripped.
“This is the girl you saved the other night,” Dean mentioned.
“Are Sam’s premonitions ever wrong?” Charlie asked.
“I wouldn’t say he has been wrong, more like we get lucky and change the future. Why?” Dean asked.
“Why would he have a vision of Jennifer, Frankie or me if we aren’t on the hit list?”
“I don’t know,” Dean said as he rubbed his face and head.
“Does that mean I can go to the dance?” Jennifer asked. Dean and Charlie looked at each other.
“I don’t see why not. Do you have a date?” Dean asked nonchalantly.
“Well, I hoped that Brad Newton would ask me, but then I heard he asked Tiffany Ellis out. Why? You wanna go with me?” Jennifer smiled.
“Sure,” Dean said as he grabbed Jennifer’s hand and smiled at Charlie. They left the manor and returned to the hotel. This will burn Frankie’s ass!
“The dance is in a couple of hours so I need to get dressed,” Jennifer told Dean and Charlie as they climbed out of the Impala.
“It’s chow time so I’ll order some pizza,” Dean said as he walked over to where Charlie was standing.
“You go ahead and get dolled up,” Dean instructed Jennifer. She gave Dean a peck on the lips and got the key from Charlie. Jennifer went in Frankie and Charlie’s room.
“So I think it is only fair that you clue me in on what’s going on,” Dean began.
“I don’t know what you mean,” Charlie lied. Frankie will kill me and I’m not ready to die.
“How was Jennifer’s attention redirected?” Dean asked.
“Well something obviously happened between you and Frankie. She is making sure you don’t have the time to think of how to keep it going. I think it is rather creative of her,” Charlie smirked.
“What so Frankie paid the girl to flirt with me?” Dean asked sarcastically. Charlie looked at him with a cocked eyebrow.
“She must be desperate. Did she tell you what happened?” Dean asked.
“No, but it must have been juicy because she resorted to paying off a minor. If we weren’t in the middle of a hunt, I am sure we would be cross country by now. You want some advice?” Charlie asked.
“Sure,” Dean replied eagerly.
“If you like her don’t give up on her. Sometimes the best way to deal with Frankie is to give her back her crap,” Charlie told him. If only Frankie could give Sam wise advice. I’m like Oprah.
“What do you mean?” Dean asked.
“Well Jennifer took a fifty to flirt with you. Get creative,” Charlie suggested.
“So what? I should bribe Jennifer to switch sides and help me make Frankie jealous?” Dean grinned.
“Sounds good to me,” Charlie responded.
“I can get her to do that for free,” he chuckled.
“Do you really think you’re that hot? I mean, Jennifer is not as stupid as you and Frankie thinks she is,” giggled Charlie. Dean’s face fell to a sad pathetic look. He looks like I just told him there’s no such thing as Santa Clause or the Easter bunny.
“Alright, so tonight Frankie should go with us to the dance. I’ll tell Jennifer the plan. This could get interesting,” Dean thought out loud.
“Wait….if you three go then that means…”Charlie trailed off. Crap! I was doing so good too.
“What?” Dean asked as he redirected his thoughts.
“Nothing,” said Charlie.
“Oh, I get it,” Dean said with a grin, “What do you have against my brother?”
“Nothing. I think I’m gonna go rest,” Charlie said as she took a step towards her room. I just want to avoid the situation.
“You look better than you did earlier. You’re just avoiding the subject. What did Sam do?” Dean paused, “What did he not do?”
“He sucked face with a preschooler,” Charlie blurted.
“Oh, the kiss,” Dean paused again and smirked.
“You like him,” Dean stated instead of asked.
“No, I don’t! It’s just that he is older than she is and he kissed her,” Charlie said flustered. That is code for “Yeah, I do but he decided to look past a girl in his own age and play tonsil hockey with a minor leaguer.”
“Sam said that she kissed him and when he recovered from the shock he pushed her away. He didn’t kiss her. I mean, do you know how many times a chick we save wants to thank us. Sam gets more than me and uh well it really doesn’t happen that much. What I meant to say is that he felt bad about it especially when you got in the truck. He couldn’t tell if you were mad or just sick,” Dean tried to convince her.
“I was sick…..from them tongue wrestling,” Charlie said, “It doesn’t matter anyway.”
“Why not?” Dean asked.
“There are more important things,” Charlie started, “like this hunt. We don’t know what is going on. Sam had a vision about Jennifer but there was no picture of her in Kyle’s attic. It’s the same thing with Frankie and me. This is getting confusing,” Charlie finished just as Dean’s cell rang. I like him but it’s not like anything could happen.
Frankie turned on the radio and turned the dial until “Smells Like Team Spirit” by Nirvana blaring from the speakers.
“I love the nineties,” said Frankie as she bobbed her head to the beat.
Sam turned down the volume a little so he could actually hear himself think.
“Sorry, I forget sometimes that I have granny ears,” laughed Frankie.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Can you still hear it?” Sam said.
“Yeah, it’s fine,” she smiled, “so I finally get some Sam time. Charlie surprised me…wait…no, she didn’t. She’s acting her typical self.”
“She is?” asked Sam.
“Well, more like she’s acting like her avoiding self. When Charlie is mad or frustrated about something she tends to avoid it as much as possible. I’m actually glad she’s avoiding you at the moment. It gives me some time away from...” Frankie hesitated as Sam looked at her, “Jennifer! I can’t stand high schoolers.”
“Right. Well, Jennifer did give me a break. She seems to have switched sides to my brother. I just have trouble hurting girl’s feelings,” Sam sighed.
“I’m sure. As for the break, you’ll get about fifty bucks worth of it,” giggled Frankie.
“Huh?” Sam said.
“Oh…crap..well, I kinda asked Jennifer to stay away from you for fifty bucks. I knew she was annoying you,” she revealed.
“But why would she flirt with Dean?” he said still not sure what Frankie’s meaning behind this was.
“I might’ve said it would make you, you know, jealous.”
Sam thought about it this arrangement for a minute. I’m not buying this.
“Wait a sec, Frankie. I may not know you very well, but I know you wouldn’t pay fifty bucks to stop someone from annoying me unless you had ulterior motives like Dean for example.”
Frankie locked eyes with Sam. Her face was red and her eyes were fierce. She looked away taking a deep breath and her body started to lose its stiffness.
“So he told you? Figures,” she sighed.
“I guessed. You told Charlie didn’t you?”
“She doesn’t know much, but knowing her she’ll figure it out. You know, you could annoy your brother more by acting like Jennifer’s flirting is making you jealous. I would get my money’s worth.”
“I’m game,” chuckled Sam.
“Wait a sec. Scratch that plan. Not a good idea,” Frankie said suddenly thinking of Charlie.
“Why?” asked Sam.
“Because some people might take it the wrong way.”
“What people? Charlie?” he asked.
“No! Just forget I said anything. So what did Dean say about me? Not that I care,” Frankie said quickly changing the subject.
“Oh, no. I’m not going to get in the middle of this.”
“What? Fine then I won’t spill about Charlie,” pouted Frankie.
Sam knew Charlie wouldn’t even talk to him so if he wanted to find out about why she was mad at him then Frankie was his only choice. What the hell! Dean will get over it.
“Alright. He said he liked you,” replied Sam.
Frankie was waiting for Sam to say more, but he just kept looking out the windshield.
“Is that it?” asked Frankie frustrated. Girls need details, Sam! If there’s ever any gossip we want to hear every detail. Men! They’re so small with the details.
“Yep,” Sam said proudly, “so what about Charlie?”
“Oh, no! I’ll tell when you actually have something with value. What are we kindergarteners? Circle yes if you like me and no if you don’t! God!” hissed Frankie.
“Dean’s not big on the details of how he feels, but I think he’s starting to understand--” Sam started.
“Yeah, your brother only understands two things just like all you other lame ass guys. Boobs and beer.”
“Well, I would say yes to that about most situations, but I think that doesn’t apply to right now because it’s you,” Sam said.
“He did tell you what almost happened right?” asked Frankie.
“Yeah, he told me and I know Dean. You got to him so just wait and he’ll show you how he feels sooner or later.”
“I’m not even sure how I feel. I keep thinking that the only reason why he’s interested is because he wants to finish what we started," she huffed.
“No, don’t think that. He’s had girls shoot him down before. He’s not that kind of guy.”
“I’m not good at this kind of stuff," Frankie sighed.
“Neither is he,” grinned Sam.
Frankie smiled at the thought of kissing Dean again. She felt her cheeks burn red.
“Are we almost there?” asked Frankie quickly before Sam noticed.
“Almost,” he mumbled.
“Well, I guess I’ll tell you one thing about Charlie in the mean time.”
Sam took a deep breath and waited.
“Charlie avoids things or people that could be a disappointment. She can’t take rejection very well because she’s had enough of it. She’s only been in one relationship and they were in love or so she thought. They’d been dating a year when I finally met him. See, Charlie was going to college and I was backpacking through Europe. I met him at the family Christmas party,” Frankie closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “There was something about him....Something I saw that was a lie. We didn’t find out until it was too late.”
“What do you mean too late?” asked Sam.
“Oh, we’re here! Let’s get this douche bag!” exclaimed Frankie ignoring Sam’s question. I hope he never finds out about Charlie. The less people that know the better!
Sam and Charlie walked through the sliding glass doors to enter the mall. The mall was packed full of carefree couples celebrating the special day.
“Holy crap batman! Get a room! These people are practically having sex in the middle of the mall!” huffed Frankie.
“What? Oh, yeah. Well, it is Valentine’s Day.”
“That’s no excuse! If I can’t do that then I shouldn’t have to see others doing it,” grimaced Frankie.
“Point taken,” replied Sam, “Do you still have that picture of Kyle?”
“Yeah, but you’ve seen him so you have a better chance at spotting him,” said Frankie.
“He would be in a place where a lot of couples hang out.”
“Is there a fountain here like a wishing fountain?” she asked looking around.
“I’m sure there is……over there,” Sam pointed out.
Sam and Frankie walked slowly towards the fountain. Frankie put her arm around his and whispered “Follow my lead.” He spotted Kyle a second after Frankie did. Kyle was watching couples, taking their pictures, and writing notes in his notebook. Suddenly, Kyle’s head shot up at Frankie. He glared at her and she glared back.
“So you found me….about time! I was starting to think you didn’t care, Frankie.”
“How do you know my name?” asked Frankie sternly.
“Oh, I know all about you and your sister.”
“You stay away from her!” hissed Frankie.
“Are you willing to die for her?” asked Kyle slyly.
Frankie was about to respond until Sam nudged her.
“Oh, you don’t have to warn her from saying too much. I can feel the love she has for her sister. It’s intoxicating.”
“You know, for someone without a heart you sure do feel a lot,” Frankie said starring at his chest, “I see your heart. There’s nothing there….nothing.”
“There will be soon just as soon as I get my last two. See ya soon!” grinned Kyle and he bolted toward the exit. Sam and Frankie ran after him, but there were so many people that they lost him.
“What are we going to do?” Frankie said between breaths.
“We’re heading back to the motel. I’ll call Dean to tell him we’re on our way. I have a feeling you and Charlie are the last two.”
Sam and Frankie ran to the red truck and jumped in. The screeching sounds of the tires were heard throughout the mall parking lot.
“Yeah?” Dean said into the cell. For a minute he was silent and listened.
“I got her right here. She’s fine,” Dean said as he took Charlie’s elbow and directed her into her room.
“We are here at the motel. Jennifer is getting ready for the dance,” Dean said the paused.
“Alright,” he said as he closed the phone and sat on the bed across from Charlie.
“What’s going on?” Charlie asked.
“They had a pow wow with Kyle and apparently, he is a heartless S.O.B. according to what Frankie saw. He made it pretty clear that you and Frankie are going to be his last two,” Dean explained.
“What are we suppose to do then? We don’t know how to stop him,” Charlie asked worried.
“Well, we’ll separate and protect. His M.O. is to divide and conquer so as long as you have me or Sam around it’ll be ok,” Dean tried to comfort her. “They are on their way back. I’ll order that pizza and get ready for the dance.”
A little later the pizza had arrived and Jennifer was ready to go to the dance. Dean told Jennifer about the extra money she could earn and she was up to it. It didn’t take long for Sam and Frankie to arrive at the motel.
“So what’s the plan?” Frankie asked when everyone was in the girl’s room.
“Separate and protect was Dean’s bright idea,” Charlie answered as she got comfortable on the bed and flipped channels on the muted TV.
“Really?” Frankie asked sarcastically as she looked at Dean.
“Yup. You’re going to the dance with me and Jennifer,” Dean answered with a smug grin.
“Jennifer isn’t even a target anymore.” Frankie protested.
“Maybe not but I would be a jerk if I stood my date up,” Dean said cockily.
“Date?” Frankie asked rhetorically as she looked at Charlie confused.
“We still don’t know how to stop him,” Sam said worried.
“We’ll do what we can,” Dean said sternly to Sam.
Dean walked to the bathroom door and knocked.
“Yeah?” Jennifer asked.
“We’ll be waiting in the car, Babe,” Dean called.
“Be out in a minute, Dean-o,” Jennifer called back.
“Let’s wait outside,” Dean said as he made his way to the door to the outside and waited for Frankie to walk through. Charlie sat on the bed and flipped through channels. Sam sat on the edge of the other bed and looked at the TV. After a minute he glanced at Charlie who looked straight ahead determinedly.
“How are you feeling?” Sam asked.
Just then Jennifer rushed through the room making quick stop in front of the mirror then she was out the door. Sam looked at Charlie again who met his gaze.
“I’m fine. Really! Thanks for asking,” Charlie said sincerely before she looked ahead again. She unmuted the TV and stopped on a movie channel where 27 Dresses was playing. Charlie and Sam sat quietly and watched the last half of the movie. At the end, Charlie stood up and stretched. Sam watched her for a minute intrigued. The main character’s name was Jane and that was Charlie’s fake name.
“Is this your favorite movie?” Sam asked.
“Resident Evil is my top movie, but I guess if I had to pick a chick flick then this would be my favorite.”
“Is that where you got your fake name from?” Sam asked curiously.
“You pay attention. Frankie got her name from P.S. I Love You.”
“Seriously, I didn’t think she was into sappy love movies,” said Sam.
“Well, that movie is more sad and full of pain than sappy. I mean, the guy dies at the beginning of the movie! Frankie relates more to pain.”
“And what do you relate to? Wedding?” laughed Sam.
“No, I relate to pleasing everybody,” Charlie said not thinking, “So, um, where do you guys get your names from?”
“Movies, bands, where ever,” Sam replied.
“Us too. I think we have used every name ever thought of. Frankie only lets us use our real names when we are by ourselves. She is so paranoid,” Charlie said as she flopped on the bed.
“Do you have a reason to be paranoid?” Sam asked.
“Only that my sister thinks everyone is out to get us and use us,” Charlie replied. Sam stayed standing and watched Charlie. She sat against the head board and started to flip through channels again.
Sam walked to the TV and turned it off. Charlie looked at him and raised her eyebrow.
“Do you think Frankie is right?” Sam asked as he sat beside Charlie facing her.
“Yes,” Charlie told him seriously. “The world isn’t safe for people like me and Frankie.”
“You two look like you can take care of yourself. I mean, you’ve made it this far,” Sam countered.
“Yeah, not without my fair share of mistakes,” Charlie told him without thinking. It almost cost me a normal life. That will never happen again. I will not be tricked again.
“What are you talking about?” Sam asked intrigued.
“Well, let’s just say that Frankie’s vision only allows her to see the supernaturally evil or good. There are normal people out there that can be evil. They can be just as much trouble as the supernatural evil,” Charlie told him as she looked down at her hands.
“So you ran into one of these people. What happened?” Sam asked gently.
“Yeah he was a smooth talker that knew about our world. I thought he was like us. I thought he helped people like we try to do. He used me to get to Frankie or so we thought. There was something even better than Frankie that we had. Any demon or creature who was looking to move up in the world would want this,” Charlie paused and looked up at Sam. “We caught on to his plan to exploit this thing and we took care of it no matter the cost.”
“What was this thing?” Sam asked interested. Suddenly he grabbed at his head. Shelby sat up and reached for him.
“ Sam! Sam, are you ok?” Shelby asked as she held on to him. After several minutes, Sam calmed down and looked up at Shelby confused.
“I saw you. There was this intently bright light then it faded. You were unconscious I think,” Sam told her with confusion. Charlie just looked at him in shock.
“Charlie,” Sam said quietly. “Do you know what I saw?”
“I don’t know. Ummmm…are you ok?” Shelby asked concerned. “Do you want me to get you anything?” Shelby tried to get him to not question her. The pieces were coming together. She almost had it figured out.
Dean and Frankie were leaning on the hood of the Impala.
“So you got a hot date, huh?” asked Frankie grinning from to ear to ear. It was worth every penny!
“Yeah, you know she’s annoying at first, but after a while she grows on you,” chuckled Dean.
“Really? Well, I hope your kids are as adorable as you!” she said as she pinched his cheek. Dean grabbed her hand and looked into her eyes. Gulp! Frankie, Calm down girl! He’s just trying to trick you again! Stay with the plan!
Frankie pulled her hand away and stood up to get some distance between them. Jennifer opened the motel door and walked out wearing a beautiful red dress.
“Aww, don’t you look beautiful!” exclaimed Frankie.
“She sure does,” replied Dean smiling at Jennifer. Frankie’s smile dropped and her lips tightened. He’s falling for a high schooler! I didn’t see this as a drawback during my scheming. That cradle robber!! He doesn’t care about me at all! He just moves to the next pair of boobs! I should kick him in the BALLS!
“Shall we?” Dean asked as he presented his arm to Jennifer. She was glowing as he opened the door for her and shut it behind her. He ran to the driver side and jumped in.
“Let’s hit it,” he yelled as he started backing up.
“Hey! Wait for me!” screamed Frankie.
“Oh, sorry. I forgot you were there. Come on if you’re coming. We don’t have all night,” Dean huffed.
Frankie hopped in the back seat and Dean peeled out of the parking lot.
“So I got you a flower thing. Isn’t that what the guy gets his date? I’ve never done this before,” smiled Dean. Dean gave her a clear plastic box with a red rose surrounded by baby’s breath and white ribbons.
“A corsage. It’s beautiful and it matches my dress!” Jennifer gasped.
“I think I’m supposed to pin it on, right?” asked Dean unsure.
“No, this one can go around my wrist. No worrying about pricking me with the pin,” laughed Jennifer. Jennifer leaned in and kissed Dean on the cheek. He smiled at her and gave her a wink.
That’s my wink! My plan is backfiring! I have to stop this!
“Um, Jennifer,” said Frankie.
“Yeah,” she answered interested.
“I want to give you some money for food and stuff. Here’s fifty dollars so you can stop at the dance," Frankie mumbled.
“Stop what?” Jennifer said as she took the money.
“Stop playing…I mean, paying for things. Dean is such a cheapskate,” Frankie answered.
“I don’t think he is. I think he’s absolutely wonderful,” Jennifer said as she exhaled.
This girl doesn’t get hints!
“Not as wonderful as you,” smirked Dean.
“Oh my God,” mumbled Frankie.
“Something wrong?” asked Dean. She’s totally buying this! HA!
“Uh. No, I think I’m starting to get sick to my stomach. It might’ve been the pizza I ate,” she replied.
“Well, I can take you back to the motel,” he said slyly.
“No, I’ll be alright,” grimaced Frankie, “I don’t want to miss the crowning of Prom Queen!”
“I bet we will get the Cutest Couple Award,” said Jennifer as she snuggled next to him.
Dean parked in an empty parking spot then quickly walked around the car to open Jennifer’s door.
“Thank you, Dean. You’re such a gentleman,” beamed Jennifer.
“You’re very welcome,” said Dean as he closed the door behind her.
“Come on, Frankie. Try to keep up.”
Frankie opened the door and slowly walked towards the school. She couldn’t believe what was happening right before her eyes. Why did she care anyways? Isn’t this what she wanted? Dean Winchester isn’t the prince she always dreamed of. He was better. Even though she barely knew him, she felt a pull towards him. She cared about him. It wasn’t love because something like that takes time to develop, but she definitely felt something she never felt before. The worst thing was that she finally realized this and it was now too late. A tear rolled down her cheek and out of nowhere something warm and soft wiped it away. Frankie looked up to see Dean looking at her with a loving smile.
“Oh, I think it’s starting to rain. I just felt a drop on my cheek,” retorted Frankie acting like she wasn’t just crying.
“It’s okay, Frankie. I know how you feel about me and I feel the same way.”
“I don’t feel anything for you except…..except revulsion,” she huffed. Shut it, Frankie!
“Don’t try to bullshit me! You might’ve run away from guys in the past, but it ends NOW! I’m not letting you get away.”
“Why are you saying this? I can’t be what you want,” she paused, “I’ve been fine being alone. Actually, it’s easier!”
“Yeah, it’s always easier not taking a chance and risking it all, believe me I know. I’m used to running away too or moving on to the next town. It’s the hunter’s life and it blows. Frankie, I’m really not talking like myself. I’m starting to sound like Sammy, but I finally realized what he keeps blabbing at me all the time. You can’t stay where it’s safe, but I promise you that you will be safe with me. I would never hurt you,” said Dean.
Frankie wiped her eyes with her sleeve and took a deep breath.
“How do I know if this will end okay?” she looked at Dean unsure.
“You don’t, but that’s the chance you have to take,” he said softly, “You want to take it together?”
Frankie looked into Dean’s eyes and saw that he meant every single word.
“This is so corny, but yes, I will,” she giggled.
Dean grabbed her around her waist picked her up so he didn’t have to lean down and kissed her passionately. He spun her around trying to replay a chick flick he was forced to watch one time until his foot stepped in a hole and they both fell to the ground. Frankie landed on top of him laughing hysterically.
“Of course my fairy tale story ends with bruises and dirt,” she snorted.
Just then the song “I’ll be” blasted through the school. Frankie moved over and sat next to him so she could brush off the dirt.
“No, your story ends with a dance,” he smiled as he got up and extended his hand to her.
Frankie took his hand; he pulled her up and held her close. They slowly made small circles around the entrance of the school. Frankie let go of all her worries and enjoyed every second till the song was over.
“We better get back to the motel. I think Jennifer has kept up her deal with you and me,” he grinned.
“You knew?” Frankie said shocked.
“Charlie told me and helped me think of another plan to get you back,” said Dean with a proud look.
“She is going to get it!” hissed Frankie.
“Oh, she was just trying to help break down some of those walls of yours,”
“I should’ve told Sam more,” she grimaced.
“No, Sammy knows more than he lets on,” said Dean
“Still…I was played,” she huffed.
“Yeah, but it wasn’t fun for me. At first, I thought it was funny how mad you were, but when you started to get quiet. I’ve never felt like that before. I couldn’t keep hurting you so I motioned Jennifer to go inside and here we are,” he said as he kissed her forehead.
Frankie leaned in and kissed his bottom lip.
“Hey now, don’t start something you can’t finish,” smirked Dean.
“Who says I can’t finish?” said Frankie raising her eyebrow. She grabbed Dean’s jacket, pulled him close and kissed him. Frankie pulled away and said, “Let’s go Prince Charming! We only have till the stroke of midnight.” Frankie ran to the Impala and slid inside.
“That’s my girl!” whispered Dean as he got in the driver’s side and headed towards the motel.
Dean and Frankie strolled in the motel room with big smiles. Dean noticed Sam’s distressed face right away and dropped his smile.
“What’s up?” Dean asked quickly.
“I had a vision. I saw Charlie then a bright light then she was on the ground alive or dead, I’m not sure. I don’t understand it at all,” Sam exclaimed.
Frankie looked at Charlie with surprise, but Charlie wouldn’t meet her stare.
“Boys, I think we need some girl time,” said Frankie.
“Sure,” Sam said as he stood. He looked at Charlie who was avoiding all eye contact. He walked out of the door.
“We’ll be next door,” Dean told Frankie with a peck on the cheek.
Dean followed Sam into their room. Sam sat on the end of the closest bed. Dean sat on the other bed leaning against the head board with his hands behind his head.
“You okay Sammy?” Dean asked.
“No, man. Not really,” Sam said turning his body to look at Dean.
“The girls aren’t telling us something. Something big. It has to do with Charlie. She was freaked when I told her what I saw,” Sam tried to convince Dean.
“Frankie hasn’t told me any deep dark secrets. She sure is protective of Charlie though,” Dean mentioned.
“Yeah, Frankie seemed to know how to take care of her like she has the whole blood reaction a lot,” Sam added.
“Something is definitely up and they don’t want us to know about it,” Dean thought out loud.
“Why not? I mean we know about Frankie’s power and they know about my premonitions. Is there really a need to keep a secret?” Sam asked.
“I don’t know, but we need to figure out how to finish this hunt. Frankie and Charlie are endanger until we stop this Kyle guy,” said Dean.
“I saw something about an alter where someone like Kyle would have to perform a ritual to have their victims change emotions so drastically. Did you see anything like that at the manor?” Sam asked.
“We didn’t see anything like that. Then again, we were just making a sweep to see if he was there. We found the pictures of the cheerleaders in the attic. Maybe we over looked something,” said Dean.
“We need to go back to the manor,” Sam told him, “How do we not let the other premonitions come true though?”
“Frankie was alone in the motel room, right?” said Dean waiting for Sam’s nod, “Well, if I’m with her she’s not alone. You and Charlie go to the manor and look around,” Dean directed.
“The sooner, the better. I don’t like them two being on some guy’s hit list,” Sam mentioned absent mindedly as he stood and walked to the door.
“Me either,” Dean said as he stood and followed Sam to the girl’s room.
When the door closed Frankie sat beside Charlie.
“Who do you think you were healing?” asked Frankie.
“I don’t know,” Charlie said as she stood and started pacing back and forth.
“You don’t need to heal anybody. You’re not even up to your full strength,” Frankie stated.
“I know that!” yelled Charlie. “I’m not an idiot. For once, could you treat me like an adult and not some helpless child?”
“I have never thought you were helpless. You just worry me!” hissed Frankie.
“How?” asked Charlie sharply.
“I just don’t know how far you will go. You can’t save everybody. Your power hurts your body. It weakens you for days. I’m afraid that it could kill you if the person was really close to death,” cried Frankie.
Charlie gave Frankie a hug. Frankie pressed Charlie close to her with tears streaming down her face.
“Would you do that? Trade your life for someone else? Even a stranger,” asked between cries.
“Frankie, All we do is risk our lives for strangers. I know what my power is capable of. I’m literally saving people’s lives! They are not strangers to me. They’re innocents. I was given this power to make this world a better place…..to fight against evil and I am going to use it no matter what the costs,” exclaimed Charlie still squeezing her sister close to her.
“I love you more than anybody I’ve ever known. I can’t live without my Charlie girl,” muffled Frankie. She had her face buried in Charlie’s shoulder. Charlie pulled her away and wiped the tears streaming down her face.
“I love you, too! You’re the best sister anyone could ask for. I’m not going anywhere. I’m right here. Everything is going to be okay, I promise,” Charlie reassured.
“Who are you?” smiled Charlie, “Come on, tell me who you are,” Charlie said playfully.
Frankie half chuckled and said, “Xena Warrior Princess.”
“And who am I?” Charlie asked.
“Gabriel,” Frankie answered.
“Can we be defeated?” asked Charlie.
“No, not as long as we have each other,” replied Frankie finally smiling, “But you know, it was cute when we were kids, but now it makes us sound like lesbians.”
“Ah, making jokes! I think my Frankie is back now,” grinned Charlie.
“So tell me what you saw when you looked at Kyle,” said Charlie seriously.
“I thought Dean told you already?” said Frankie puzzled.
“He’s not much with the details,” sighed Charlie.
“Yeah, I know. Guys are always down to the bare minimum about anything except football,” Frankie remarked.
“Well, he’s human, but his heart is completely empty. It was hollow. Even though, he’s human till has evil in him. He thrives off of love or the taking of someone’s love.”
Charlie was listening carefully to Frankie’s every word.
“I’m sure we will find a way to stop him,” said Frankie.
Knock Knock
Frankie walked to the bathroom to calm down. She didn’t want the guys to know she was crying.
“Come In!” Charlie shouted across the room.
Sam and Dean walked in the room and starred at Charlie.
“Where’s Frankie?” asked Dean.
“She’s on John,” snickered Charlie. Good, Charlie. Act calm and cool.
Dean chuckled as he looked towards the bathroom and jumped on the bed. Sam walked over and sat beside her.
“So what’s up?” asked Frankie calmly.
“Charlie is going with me to check out the manor again. We need to look for an alter and destroy it. It might weaken him until we find a way to stop him,” explained Sam.
“Why Charlie?” asked Frankie, “I’ll go!”
“Frankie, you need to stay away from Kyle. He could feel you a mile away,” reminded Sam.
“And I won’t leave you alone so the other premonition will come true,” said Dean sternly to Frankie.
“You’ll call me as soon as you find something,” Frankie said.
“Of course,” reassured Charlie. This will all be over soon, sis.
Frankie gave Charlie a hug and kissed her on the cheek.
“Be careful!” reminded Frankie.
“And risk pissing you off if I’m not,” laughed Charlie, “I’ll call you soon, I promise.” Charlie walked out of the room and closed the door.
Frankie looked at Dean, tears forming in her eyes.
“I don’t like this! Why does it feel like goodbye?” said Frankie with her voice cracking.
“Nothing is going to happen. Sam is with her and he will not let anyone hurt her,” said Dean.
“I’m gonna take a bath to relax while they’re gone,” said Frankie weakly.
“Okay, baby. I’ll be right here.”
Frankie walks over to Dean and presses her lips to his. She moves down and kisses his neck and moves up to nibble on his ear. Dean grabbed her shoulders and pulls her away.
“I know you don’t want to do this right now,” he said breathing heavily.
“I’m sorry,” she buried her face in her hands, “When all this is over, we are going to take a vacation.”
Dean kissed her the top of her head and whispered, “You can count on it.”
Frankie walked in the bathroom and closed the door. She looked at the lock and turned it till it clinked. Soon the bathtub was full of hot steaming water. Frankie placed her phone on the table near the tub and got in one foot at a time. She slowly slid into the tub until she was fully submerged in water. As she held her breath under the water, she heard a muffled noise. What is that? What’s that sound? MY CELL PHONE! Frankie pulled herself up and grabbed the phone to flip it open.
“Charlie!” gurgled Frankie water running in her mouth.
“Charlie has a message for you. She gives up. She doesn’t want to search for answers anymore. She is going to do you a favor and end her life so you won’t have to worry about her. Isn’t that considerate of her to help you and me?”
“No, Charlie!” screamed Frankie, “You bastard.”
“Seems you have two people who disagree,” Kyle laughed evilly.
“Why are you doing this?” asked Frankie hysterically.
Dean pounded on the door. “Frankie, what’s going on?”
“Why? I’ll tell you why. My chance of love was stripped from me by the love of my life. Literally, my heart was ripped out. I deserve love just like everybody else. What makes you two so special? NOTHING! No one deserves love as much as me. I will take everyone’s love if I have to!” Kyle yelled with rage.
“Put Charlie on the phone you son of a bitch! I don’t believe you!” screamed Frankie, “Charlie, Are you there?”
“Frankie, I love you, but I have to do this. I have to save you.”
“No, Charlie! Don’t!”
“Please for once let me take care of you. I know what I have to do,” Charlie said calmly.
“Charlie! Let’s find another way! Please! Don’t do this! Charlie, are you there? Charlie!”
Frankie threw her phone across the room. Dean was trying to break down the door. Frankie was lying naked on the floor sobbing.
“Charlie…No…Char…lieeee,” she whispered between sobs.
Frankie glanced around the bathroom floor until something shiny caught her eye. Her switchblade was hanging out of her blue jeans on the floor. Frankie crawled over to her clothes and grabbed the knife. She looked at her wrist, steam was floating off her skin and her veins were bright blue to guide her to the end.
“No more pain,” she said as she switched open the knife.
Charlie drove towards the manor in determined silence. After a few minutes she spoke, “Have you ever not wanted the whole premonition thing?”
“Yeah, I used to blame it on my family’s bad luck. But I have been able to save people so it can come in handy,” Sam answered thoughtfully.
“So it doesn’t bother you? I mean….well, I guess you have it relatively good when it comes to superpowers. You know how you got it, you know to use it, and apparently it only hurts when you have the visions,” Charlie said thinking aloud.
“Well, I don’t know all the details about how I got it and I don’t know really how to use it…it just kind of happens. Why?” Sam asked intrigued by the conversation.
“I was just thinking. I guess not all superpowers are bad,” Charlie told him.
“Frankie isn’t so bad, is it? She seems ok with it,” Sam asked.
“Yeah, she has another useful power like you. She’s never talked about wanting to be normal. Her power is like yours because she can still live a relatively normal life,” Charlie explained.
“You talk like there is another kind,” Sam said wanting to understand.
“Oh, I’m sure there are powers that people can barely live with that makes them far from normal,” Charlie said without thinking.
“You’ve put a lot of thought into this,” Sam commented.
“More than you know,” Charlie replied as she parked the truck in front of the house. The property was dark and eerie.
“We need to check out the attic,” Sam said as he got out of the truck.
Charlie walked to the other side of the truck and fell in step with Sam.
“Looks like he hasn’t made it back,” Charlie commented. Sam took one of her hands in his without looking for her expression. Sam led the way with his flashlight as they made their way to the attic. As Charlie walked back through the house, she thought about all the pieces of this puzzle. I wonder who I healed. Sam didn’t see me healing him and I wouldn’t heal Kyle…I want to stop him, not save him. Wait a second. I know what I must do now.
In the room Sam walked over to the largest wall with the pictures of now thirteen girls. Charlie stood in the doorway noticing the thirteenth picture right away.
“How did he get a picture of Frankie?” Charlie asked quietly.
A voice from behind her answered, “She photographs very well. It looks as though she is searching for something or someone, doesn’t she? Well, she found me alright, but that comes with consequences.”
Charlie and Sam both turn to find Kyle. Charlie tries to step back but Kyle grabs her by the middle and holds her hands by her side with one arm.
“This will really get her,” Kyle continued pointing a gun at her head, “Frankie changed my whole plan when I saw her at the mall. Her feelings for Charlie are beyond any couple could achieve. She loves her sister with every fiber of her being, but she could never live without her. She doesn’t know how close she is to end her life all because of Charlie.”
Sam took a step towards him and reached back behind is jacket.
“Easy there Sammy. Stay where you are. Drop any guns you have on the floor and kick them over. There is no need for you and your brother to get involved,” Kyle paused, “He has other plans for you. This little test of his turned out better than I thought it would.”
Sam slowly pulled out his gun from his jacket, placed it on the floor, and kicked it over to Kyle’s feet.
“So the Yellow Eyed demon sent you here. What test am I supposed to pass now?” Sam asked forcefully.
“Well, it was for you and your brother. Your brother is the only thing holding you back so I’m here to set you free so you can be what we all hope you’ll become,” he paused and stepped closer to Charlie, “But I couldn’t help it when I came across Frankie and Charlie. Their love for each other will keep me strong for decades.” He said as he leaned in to smell Charlie’s hair. “Ah, I have plans of my own, but I can still fulfill his plans. I just got to call that brother of yours when I’m done with these lovely ladies.” He said as he touched her neck with his fingertips.
“Leave her alone,” Sam snarled, “Neither one of them is ready to take their own lives. You can’t do anything without the lack of love.”
“Oh, I see. I mean, I feel…..so soon yet feelings are already blossoming. This is very interesting. Well Sam, things aren’t as stable as you think. Are they, Charlie? You’re unsure all the time. You hate to be a burden to your sister. You’re hiding a secret, which I’m a little interested to find out. Do you know Sam can never fully give his heart to you because his great love, Jessica, died? So you will never hold a candle to her. Why even bother with him? Don’t you deserve more?”
Charlie turned her head to look him in the eyes and hissed, “Go to hell.”
Kyle jerks her to a chair and roughly forces her to sit. “I’m sure I will one day, but until then let’s call my favorite lady, Frankie. We know Frankie’s weakness, don’t we?” Charlie didn’t move but sat with her head down and her arms crossed.
“Call her,” Kyle demanded. Charlie still didn’t move. Kyle pushed the gun to the back of her head.
“CALL HER!,” he yelled. Charlie was shaking as she took out her phone. She pushed the speed dial for Frankie and locked eyes with Sam. He watched with confusion and terror.
“Frankie,” Charlie said calmly. Kyle snatched the phone.
“Charlie has a message for you. She gives up. She doesn’t want to search for answers anymore. She is gonna do you a favor and end her life so you won’t have to worry about her. Isn’t that considerate of her to help you and me?” Kyle tells Frankie. Sam shakes his head.
“No, Charlie!” Sam yelled still locking eyes as he stepped closer.
“Seems you have two people who disagree,” Kyle chuckled. Then his voice gets louder in response to something Frankie said.
“Why? I’ll tell you why. My chance of love was stripped from me by the love of my life. Literally, my heart was ripped out. I deserve love just like everybody else. What makes you two so special? NOTHING! No one deserves love as much as me. I will take everyone’s love if I have to!” Kyle yelled with rage. He listened then put the phone up to Charlie’s ear.
“She wants you to tell her. Seems she doesn’t believe me,” Kyle smirked.
“Frankie, I love you, but I have to do this. I have to save you. Please for once let me take care of you. I know what I have to do,” Charlie said calmly. Charlie made a gun with her left hand and Sam nodded. Charlie nodded her head back and snapped the phone closed. Suddenly, Sam lunged at Kyle and the gun goes off as they hit the floor. Sam grabs the gun and Kyle knocks Sam out with a kick of his leg. Charlie jumps forward and lands on Kyle’s chest. Kyle looks at Charlie in confusion as she places her right hand over his chest then blinding light fills the room. Sam comes to as the light begins to fade away and he rushes over to grab Charlie. She slumps into his arms barely alive.
“Charlie! Charlie! Wake up!” Sam yells fiercely as he shakes her. Sam checks for a pulse and finds a very weak one. He takes out his phone and calls Frankie. The phone continues ringing until her voice mail picks up. “You’ve reached, Frankie. You know what--”Sam ended the call. Dean is there. He had to stop her from killing herself.
Sam pushed number one on his phone to speed dial Dean.
“Sammy! Is everything okay?” asked Dean breathing heavily.
“No, Charlie is barely alive. I’m going to take her to the hospital. Frankie and you can come meet me there.”
“Frankie is unconscious at the moment. She was in the bathroom when Charlie called. She was about to slit her wrists until I broke down the door and took it away from her. It wasn’t easy so I had to knock her out,” said Dean painfully.
“Well, try to wake her up cause Charlie isn’t looking good and head to the hospital as soon as you can!” exclaimed Sam as he hung up the phone. He put one arm under her head and the other under her legs and carried her to the red truck.
“Hang on, Charlie,” whispered Sam as he threw the truck in gear and peeled out of the driveway.
I hope you're enjoying it so far! The recent Supernatural episode when Dean called the magicans douche bags cracked me up because I wrote Dean saying that in this fan fiction, but Shelby told me guys don't say that so I changed it to a Frankie comment. But just for the record, I could see Dean saying it so when he said it in that episode I couldn't do anything but smile at Shelby. Okay maybe I did say "I told you" but only a few times. LOL
Well, Love Kills is almost over, but we will continue the sorry with a sequel so stay tuned. Please write reviews!
Hey...it;s been a long time, but i finally finished it without judsongirl, but she was apart of this story so I have to give her props. I had to take out or edit a scene or two because this is a family site. Also, ignore the grammar I just wanted to hurry up and finish it! I hope you enjoy!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Frankie opened her eyes and looked around the room. As she moved her head a shot of pain came from her left jaw. She immediately put her hand to the source of the pain and began rubbing it.
“What the hell happened?” asked Frankie to herself.
“You tried to kill yourself in the bathroom,” Dean said as he walked out of the bathroom and sat on the bed next to Frankie. “How do you feel?”
Frankie sifted in the bed to lean on the headboard. “Like somebody punched me in the face. I thought you said you would never hurt me,” she grumbled.
“Well, stopping you from committing suicide doesn’t count.” Said Dean as he picked up an ice pack and placed it on her cheek.
“So this is a sign that you care? I don’t think Hallmark will make a movie about it,” she muttered. Dean leaned down and brushed her lips with his. “I’m sorry I hurt you, but it was necessary. You were about to do a lot worse to yourself with that switch blade of yours.”
Frankie frowned, which has hard to do with him so close to her. “I don’t remember much except feeling something was broken and nothing could ever fix it because Charlie….Oh my God! Charlie! Is she alive? Where is she? What happened?” screeched Frankie, which made Dean quickly pull himself upright.
“Calm down. She’s alive and in the hospital,” Dean hesitated, “She’s in a comma. They’re not sure she will wake up.”
Frankie threw the covers off then immediately threw the covers back over her. “Why am I naked?”
“Don’t you remember? You were taking a bath when Charlie called you. I would’ve dressed you, but I decided just to cover you up,” he said.
“Enjoy the show.” Frankie lifted her eyebrow at him.
“Hey, I was a gentleman. It’s hard to want to check you out when you’re trying to kill yourself. It kind of kills the mojo,” he said.
“Well, I need to take a shower and get dressed. I don’t want to look like this when Charlie wakes up.”
“Naked?” smiled Dean.
Frankie rolled her eyes. Men and their one track minds. “No, I look terrible like I’ve been in a brawl.”
“Yeah, I really don’t have to worry about you defending yourself. Gave me a run for my money,” he admitted.
Dean’s comment made Frankie take a closer at his face and noticed a bruise on his right cheek.
“I’m so sorry,” she said as she touched his cheek. He put his hand on top of hers.
“Oh, that’s the one you can see. There are others, but don’t worry. I’m fine. I’m just glad I was able to stop you. I’ve never been so scared in all my life and that means something being a hunter. Don’t ever do that to me again,” he said firmly.
“I never thought I would ever do that. I guess its part of Kyle’s power. What happened to him?” she asked.
“We’re not sure. Nothing is left of him, but ashes. I guess we’ll ask Charlie when she wakes up,” Dean stated as he stood up, “I’ll let you get dressed. What anything to eat?”
“Yeah, chicken tender sandwich please. Thanks, handsome.”
Dean left the room and Frankie jumped into the bathroom. A half an hour later, Frankie was eating the last bit of food Dean brought her.
“Where’s Sam? That’s a stupid question. He’s at the hospital waiting for Charlie to wake up. Right where I should be! Let’s go now!” she exclaimed.
Dean pulled into an empty parking place in the patient parking lot. Frankie was nervous as they got on the elevator to go to the intensive care floor. She wasn’t sure if she could handle seeing Charlie like this. This is entirely my fault.
Dean opened the door to room 205. Frankie slowly walked in the room and saw Sam sitting by the bed holding Charlie’s hand. He looked up when we entered the room.
“There’s no change?” asked Dean concerned.
“No, the doctors don’t understand what could’ve done this to her,” Sam responded.
Frankie looked down to the floor and said, “They can’t help her. It depends on Charlie.”
Sam shot Frankie a look and got out of his chair. “Why didn’t you tell me she has a power?” snarled Sam. “I would’ve stopped her. I would’ve…” he trailed off turning his head to Charlie “saved her from herself. She knew what she was doing. I saw it in her eyes.”
“What did she do?” asked Frankie already knowing.
“She put her hands on his chest and he turned to ashes,” Sam replied.
“Does she electrify people or something?” Dean asked looking at Frankie.
“She’s a healer. She can heal people from a small cut to almost death,” she confessed.
“So why did Kyle turn to ashes?” Dean questioned.
Frankie was silent for a moment to think about his question. He must have had nothing in him to heal. No shred of humanity. “He thrived off of pain and hate. Charlie gave him love and hope. I think he couldn’t handle the real power of love. I know I should’ve told you guys about her power, but she has already been preyed upon in the past. The last guy she dated wanted to use her power for evil. I just wasn’t sure if I could trust you with this, but now I see it was a mistake. We have been searching for so long for answers to Charlie’s power and we haven’t found anything. Nothing at all. Charlie’s power is very unique. We wouldn’t have so much trouble finding information,” said as she exhaled from her long winded explanation. She felt like a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders.
“I’m sorry I yelled at you. I just feel so useless right now,” Sam said sympathetically.
“Welcome to my life,” she responded.
Dean knew exactly how Frankie felt. His whole life he has looked over Sam just as Frankie looked over Charlie. It’s a tough job at times, being the older brother and always having to be the strong one.
“How long does she usually need to rest?” asked Sam.
“About two or three days if they are near death, but this is a different situation. She might be out a week or two,” she answered.
“I knew that squeamish of blood thing was bull. I mean, you’re hunters! Blood comes with the job,” Dean stated, starting to connect the dots.
“Oh. Yeah, lame excuse, but what could we say?” she smiled.
“I don’t know. You faint when you’re around good looking men like Sammy and me?”
Frankie crocked an eyebrow at Dean and hoped he was joking. When he didn’t start laughing, Frankie swallowed her laugh and said, “Um that was our next one, sweetie so I’m going to go back to the hotel and get some of her clothes. When Charlie wakes up, she is going to want to get out of here as soon as she can. She’s afraid they will want to dissect her or something.”
“Call my phone if anything changes with her condition. Frankie’s phone is in pieces at the moment,” Dean informed Sam. Frankie smiled at the thought of how caring Dean was even if he liked to act of tough all the time. Charlie is going to want full details when she wakes up. Frankie didn’t really want to leave Charlie, but looking at her all helpless made Frankie feel horrible for not being there for her when Charlie needed her. Dean must have known she needed help leaving because he wrapped his arm around her waist and tugged her out of the room.
Sam sat back in his chair and decided to get a little rest. He began to drift to sleep. He was dreaming of Charlie and she was smiling at him. They were having a picnic and it was a beautiful day. The sun was shining on her curls, making her look like a goddess. She placed her hand on his cheek and leaned in to where their lips were inches from touching. She exhaled a soft, sweet breath, and said, “Sam, it’s time to wake up. Wake up, Sam. It’s time to say goodbye.” She kissed him and Sam’s eyed flew open. Doctors and nurses were crowded around Charlie.
“What’s going on? Is she okay?” Sam yelled as he pushed through.
“Sir, you’re going to have to leave so we can help her,” the blonde nurse ordered.
“She’s flat lining. Get the petals ready. Charge to 360,” the doctor yelled, “Clear.” The doctor looked at the screen for any sign of life.
Sam pleaded, “Charlie! Don’t you give up! It’s not goodbye! Not today! Charlie, please!”
“Again! Clear!” shouted the doctor.
Tears are streaming down Sam’s face. “Come on, Charlie! Hold on! Don’t let go!”
“Charge to 300!” the doctor cried, “Clear!”
A solid straight line still moved across the screen. The doctor’s shoulders slumped as he turned to a nurse and said, “Call it.”
“No, Charlie! Come back NOW!” roared Sam.
“Time of death, twelve—beep…beep…beep. The doctor’s head jerked towards the screen. “What the…..," he gasped.
The doctor looked at Charlie with curious eyes while he examined the machines as he said, “This is a very lucky girl. Let’s keep a close watch on her heart rate. It still looks a little weak.” He looked at Sam then flipped through his chart. “I’m Dr. Butler. She is stable at the moment. She is still very weak so there’s still no certainty that she will come out of this untouched. Her heart is very weak, but her brain function is normal so whatever happened to her damaged her heart severely. She might need a transplant if her condition worsens.
“She almost died just now! How close to death does she have to be before you save her?” hissed Sam.
“She is still holding on. Are you her husband?”
“No, I’m her….friend,” Sam answered wishing he could’ve a more intimate title to Charlie.
“I need to talk to a relative in order to make any decisions.”
“Her sister is on her way,” Sam responded.
“Oh, my God! What happened?” Frankie cried as she entered the room.
“You’re sister went into cardiac arrest, but she is fine now. Her heart is very weak. We might have to give her a heart transplant. I need you to sign some consent forms and other paperwork,” Dr. Butler stated with no emotion in his voice. He’s the kind of doctor that got immuned to feelings about patients long ago. Frankie has had to deal with these kinds of doctors more than she liked.
“No. I will not sign any consent forms. My sister is going to be fine. She just needs time to heal,” she said firmly.
Dr. Butler stopped looking at the chart and stared into Frankie’s eyes as he said, “Charlie is in a comma at the moment. She might never wake up or she could die right now if she doesn’t get this transplant. Do you want to be held responsible if she doesn’t make it?”
Frankie pulled out a paper from a bag she was carrying and handed it to the doctor. “I have a statement from her saying that she refuses to have any transplants or be put on life support. If you ignore my sister’s wishes then I will have to call her attorney,” Frankie retorted.
The doctor gave Frankie a fierce long look then quickly left the room muttering as he exited.
“What the hell do you think you are doing?” growled Sam, “Do you want your sister to die?”
Frankie spun around to face Sam and slapped him across the face. “How dare you say that to me? Charlie means more to me than you could even fathom! I am preventing them from killing her! Her power is connected to her heart! If they give her a transplant then they take her power, which kills her! Why do you think I already have the forms preventing any transplants? We have been in this situation before! So you’re going to back to hell up and let me handle this!” she snarled.
Frankie let out a breath and counted to ten to regain her cool. “Listen, I know you care for her, but I know what I’m doing. You’re going to have to trust me on this, Sam.”
“What’s going on?” Dean questioned as he entered the room, immediately noticing the hostile expressions on their faces.
“Nothing,” Sam mumbled as he stormed out of the room. Dean followed him into an empty waiting room.
“Sammy, what did I just walk in on? Are you yelling at her again? What is your problem?” he questioned with steam coming out of his ears.
“I didn’t mean to yell at her. I just misunderstood her instructions to the doctor. I should’ve known Frankie wouldn’t do anything to hurt Charlie. I’m such an ass.” Sam grumbled.
“More like a bitch with all your mood swings! Are you on your period? Damn it, Sam! We are all trying to help Charlie. Get a grip on yourself!” Dean said as he turned to leave the waiting room.
“Ow! Oh,” Sam grunted as he grabbed his side.
“Sam, what’s wrong?” Dean said alarmed.
“Cramps. Got any Midol?” Sam snickered.
Dean punched Sam on his arm as they walked out of the waiting room. They entered Charlie’s room, and Sam walked over to where Frankie was sitting. “I’m sorry, Frankie. I shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions,” he said sincerely.
“It’s cool, Sam. Penises usually assume what they want and end up making fools of themselves in the process,” she responded.
“Hey, you’re dating a penis at the moment so chill with the ‘all men are pigs’ crap,” snapped Dean.
“Sorry, my penis. Old habits die hard,” she giggled, “Apology accepted, Sam Bone. I know you’ll be back to your lovesick self whenever she wakes up.”
Dean sat beside Frankie and put his arm around her.
“So she’s been out for almost two days. Will they let us stay here until she does wake up?” asked Dean.
“Oh, you better believe they will or they will have to deal with me,” she confirmed.
Dean smiled and leaned in to kiss her on the cheek. “That’s my girl”
Sam walked over to Charlie’s bed and grabbed her hand. “I wonder what’s going on in there. Is she dreaming or can she hear everything that is going on, but can’t talk to us.”
“Hey!” Dean said “What if she’s in the room like you said I was when I almost died from the car accident.”
“Yeah, but I felt you then. I don’t feel her around here. I just hope she’s not in any pain.”
“She’s not. She’ll be awake before you know it,” Frankie said confidently.
*******************************************************
“Frankie! Frankie! Where are you? I’m going to tell mom and dad you’re hiding from me! Frankie!” screamed Charlie as she searched the back yard.
“Up here, tag along,” grumbled Frankie from a big oak tree, “Why can’t you play by yourself? You’re too little to do the things I want to do.”
“Mom told me to come outside and play with you. How did you get up there? Help me up,” Charlie yelled.
“No. You’re too little to come up here. If you want up, do it yourself because I’m not going to get in trouble if you fall and get hurt.”
“Fine! I’ll find my own way!”Charlie cried as she ran to the shed. She came out with a ladder and placed it on the tree and started to climb up the ladder.
“Stop it, Charlie! You’re going to fall!” Frankie yelled.
“No, I’m not. I can do it,” she snapped. Frankie climbed down the tree to where Charlie as trying to climb up. The ladder was wobbling as Charlie made it to the top of it. She couldn’t reach the branch to help pull her up into the tree. Frankie decided to help her so she held on to the branch and leaned out of the tree to extend her hand to Charlie. As Charlie reached out the branch snapped and Frankie fell from the tree and landed on the ground with a load thud. Charlie screamed and quickly climbed back down the ladder.
“Frankie, are you okay?” she said as she fell by her sister’s side, “Mommy! Help! Frankie, wake up!”
Frankie wasn’t moving at all. Charlie put her hands on her chest because her teacher told her that’s where the heart is. All of a sudden a white light filled the back yard.
“What’s going on? What are you two screaming about? Oh my God! Frankie! Charlie!” screamed their mother as she rushed to them both. “Girls! Wake up! George! Call 911! The girls are unconscious! I think they fell off the ladder!”
The screams fade me into the background and turns into the sounds of the city. The night sky is dark as coal with no stars in sight due to the lights of the city preventing them from shining bright. A car pulls up in front of an abandoned warehouse, a tall man steps out of the car on the driver side and Charlie steps out on the passenger side with confusion on her face.
“Where are we, Steven?” she asked.
“I told you. It’s a surprise,” he smiled and he grabbed her hand and led her into the building. As they came down a hallway in the warehouse, Charlie saw a light on what looked like an office.
“Steven, This place is creepy. If you have some romantic dinner planned, can we please take it to go cause I can’t stand it here for another second,” Charlie said as she pulled her hand free.
Steven stopped walking and turned towards her. He grabbed her by the elbow and continued to pull her toward the lighted office. “I tried to do this the easy way, Charlie, but you had to be difficult.”
“What are you doing? You’re hurting me! Steven! Let me go!” she cried.
Steven reached the office door, opened it, and pulled her inside. Charlie immediately realized that it wasn’t a romantic dinner for two. It was a roomful of demons all staring at her.
“About time! We need to start the ritual,” said the demon closet to her.
“The bitch wouldn’t hurry up! I even considered knocking her out and put her in my trunk, but there were too many witnesses,” growled Steven.
“What the hell is going on, Steven? What have you done?” she yelled.
“You’re going to help me, Charlie. I’m going to be very rich as soon as you show them your power,” he answered.
“Power? What are you talking about?” she said acting confused. Gulp!
“Sweetie, I’m your fiancé. I know all about your little secret and I want you to show my friends here what you can do so they can perform their ritual and put a top dog demon in you that can use your power to suck life from people instead of give life.”
“You idiot! Don’t tell her our plans! The less she knows the better!” another demon snapped.
“I hate to disappoint you guys, but I don’t have a power of any kind. Steven here is just blowing smoke up your ass to get money. Oh, by the way, the wedding is so off!”
“I think I’m going to cry. Okay now, all better,” he laughed as he pulled her across the room and threw her in a chair. Steven pulled out a long sharp knife. He placed it to her cheek and ran the flat part across it.
“You’re going to make them believers, my love,” he grinned as he placed the knife on his wrist and cut across his veins. Steven let out a few choice words as he fell to the floor and cried to her, “Help me, Charlie! Heal me!”
“Heal this!” Frankie screamed as she kicked him in the face and knocked him out. Frankie then grabbed a bottle from her bag and slung the holy water all over the room. The demons began screaming in agony. Frankie started speaking latin and smoke started coming out of the demons mouth. Once she finished, all the people fell to the floor demon free.
“Frankie, you got here just in time.”
“Well, if you hadn’t sent me the 911 text with the location. I wouldn’t have made it in time.”
“I sure know how to pick’m, don’t I?” Charlie laughed weakly.
Frankie bent down and hugged her then wiped her tears away.
“Who needs guys? All we need is each other.”
The dank dark warehouse fades away and a café suddenly appears on a cloudy day. Charlie is sitting in a chair outside the café with a book in one hand and a coffee in the other.
“How’s the book coming along?”
Charlie turned to the voice behind her and saw Sam walking up behind her. A smile immediately came to her lips as she rose from her seat to give him a hug.
“It’s coming along pretty good. It’s about male Hunters meeting female hunters in search for clues on why girls are killing themselves before Valentine’s Day. It’s really getting good. All it needs is some good love scenes and it will be complete.”
Sam looked away as he blushed a little, “Well, you can’t have any of those by staying here. I mean, it’s been two weeks. You’re body is fully healed. The doctors don’t know why you haven’t woke up yet. So here I am to get you out of whatever rut you are in. Frankie has been really worried about you.”
“Frankie is always worried about me since I was a child. What’s new?” she snapped, “I’m sorry I just don’t want to leave yet. I like it here. I don’t have to worry about hurting anybody here.”
“So you’re just going to stay here and relive all your memories that have traumatized you over the years. You like pain that much.”
“Pain, I can handle. It’s causing pain to others, I can’t. You guys can hunt without me. Frankie has Dean now so she won’t be alone.”
“What about me? Who will I have?” Sam asked.
“You’re a smart and handsome guy, Sam. I’m sure you can find some girl,” she sighed.
“I don’t want some girl, Charlie. I want you. I’ve always wanted you. You are the girl I’ve always dreamed of so why don’t you wake up so we can start our future together.”
“How do I know if you’re telling the truth? Steven said the same words to me with love and affection in his eyes then served me up to some demons the next.”
“I’m not Steven. Don’t make me pay for what he did to you? I know what happened with Steven, but I would never do that to you. Never.”
“Did Frankie tell you what happened between Steven and me?”
“A little bit, but I’ve also been following you through your memories from you healing Frankie as a child to Steven betraying you to recent events at the mansion. This is the first pleasant memory I’ve seen so I decided to confront you about getting back to your real life.”
“This memory is about the only good one I have. It was when I was on my own completely in San Francisco. Frankie left to go backpacking through Europe. I was all alone and never felt so wonderful and content.”
“Charlie, this is ridiculous. This is all fake. Come with me and make some new memories.”
“Just go Sam! I’m not leaving!” she snapped.
“Fine! You want to hide like a little coward then go ahead!”
“Coward! I’m not a coward! I risked my life to save you from Kyle!”
“No, you didn’t. You thought it was going to kill you so really you were trying to commit suicide! You feel guilty about all these memories and I know how you feel. You have something inside of you that you can’t control. You don’t have to be alone anymore, Charlie. We can face it together.”
Charlie looked in his blue eyes and knew Sam was different. He was the real deal, the guy that made her complete. He was nothing like what she dreamed of. He exceeded her dreams. A tear found a way out and ran down her cheek. If she turned away from him then she really would be a coward.
“Okay, Sam. I’ll leave this place…….for you,” she said as she fell into his arms.
**********************************************************
Charlie opened her eyes and saw a blurry figure hovering above her. After she blinked a few times, her eyes adjusted on Sam’s handsome face. She would have a coma all over again just to wake up and his beautiful eye’s is the first thing she sees.
“Sam,” she whispered and then tried to clear her throat.
“Easy now, Charlie. Your body is healed, but it still may be sore including your throat,” Sam said soothingly, “How do you feel?”
“I don’t know yet. All I’ve managed to do yet is say your name,” she laughed softly.
“Why don’t you try to sit up so you can drink some water or juice?”
Charlie nodded her head so Sam put his arms around her like he was giving her a hug and pulled her up on the bed and placed pillows behind her back. Sam grabbed his cup of water on the bedside table.
“Do you mind drinking after me?”
Charlie shook her head left and right and opened her mouth. Sam brought the cup to her lips and poured its contents in her mouth. After the cup was empty, Charlie cleared her throat and looked up at Sam.
“I’d drink or eat anything that has had your lips on it,” she admitted with a giggle.
Sam couldn’t resist the urge any longer. He leaned forward and gently kissed her lips. It started gentle until Charlie wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled Sam closer. Sam felt a burning desire in him that was about to explode and God help her after that so he unlocked her arms from around his neck and broke from the kiss.
“Charlie, you just woke up from a coma. Let’s not send me into one, ok?”
Charlie smiled, but knew he was right. This wasn’t the place for kisses like that, and too many chances of being interrupted.
“Okay. I’ll be good....for now.” Charlie saw Sam’s eyes flash fire in response to her last two words. For a girl who just came out of a coma she felt pretty good, good enough to talk seductive to Sam. She straightened herself in the bed and moved her legs around a bit to see if they still worked. So far everything seemed to work, which was new to her. Normally when she heals someone she feels like someone beat her with a baseball bat just without all the bruises and broken bones.
“Help me up. I want to walk around a bit.”
“Charlie, I’m not so sure you should be walking around yet. I should get the doctor first to check you out.”
“No, Sam. I’ve been laying around for weeks. I want to get moving. Help me up or I’ll do it by myself.”
Sam blinked at her for a moment and then gave in by wrapping his arm around her waist to brace her against him. Charlie took small baby steps at first to test the waters then began to lengthen her stride. As they reached the door to her room, it opened and in walked Frankie and Dean wide eyed.
“Charlie!” Frankie squealed as she launched herself at Charlie and gave her a hug. Charlie lost her balance, but Sam’s hold on her kept her upright.
“Oh my God! I was wondering when you were going to join us. I missed you so much! It’s tough being around all these guys without you around,” Frankie said.
Dean had a hurt look on his face until Frankie swing around and kissed him softly.
“You know I love you, but I miss girl time and my sister.” Dean’s frown faded unto a smirk.
Frank looked Charlie up and down then said, “So how are you feeling so far?”
“I feel pretty good. My legs are a little wobbly, but other than that I’m fine.”
“Huh? That’s weird. Normally I have to become a nurse for a week to get you back to health,” Frankie retorted then turned to Dean flashing a wicked grin, “She’s my sister. It’s not a Playboy sponge bath scene, ya freak.”
“That’s what you like about me,” Dean whispered in her ear, which made her shuddered all the way down to her toes.
“Have they been like this the whole time I’ve been out?” Charlie asked looking at Sam.
“Yea, it’s been pretty sickening. I almost put myself in a coma too.”
“Well, that just means that we have our work cut out for us. Right?” Charlie said as she licked her lips.
Sam’s expression turned from shock to the same wicked grin Dean had a minute ago. He didn’t know what brought about this change in Charlie, but he kind of liked it. “Oh yeah”
“Did my sister just say that?” Frankie said eyeing Dean.
“I’m afraid so. Do you think she’s possessed?” he said reaching in his pocket and pulled out a bottle of holy water.
“Dude, she’s not possessed!” Sam snapped as he reached for the bottle Dean was about to splash in Charlie’s face. Sam ended up knocking Dean’s elbow, which made the bottle fly in the air and empty its contents on Frankie and Charlie.
Both men froze and stared at each other in horror then turned to face the girls. Frankie and Charlie glared at them with water running down her face then Frankie growled “Satisfied?”
“Uh…yeah,” Dean responded weakly while Sam grabbed some towels and handed it to them.
“So now that we know Charlie and me aren’t possessed then someone needs to work on getting her out of here,” Frankie stated sharply while she towel dried her hair.
“I’m on it,” Dean yelled as he bolted for the door.
Charlie walked back to her bed and laid down to get ready for the swarm of doctors and nurses that were coming with their endless questions and tests
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------“So you’re free! How does it feel?” Sam asked Charlie as he got in the driver side after helping her in the passenger side of the car.
“Great! Except for saying goodbyes to all the cute doctors,” she teased.
“Yeah, I’m going to miss those nurses too,” he smirked as he put the car in drive.
“Charlie, I got a question. I told you earlier that how I felt, but you only made it loud and clear that you want to be physical. You do know I want more than that, right?”
Charlie was silent, starring out at the road ahead at a loss for words.
“Because I’m crazy about you! I think about you all the time and I couldn’t sleep at all while you were in a coma so that’s why I researched a way to tap into your subconscious. I just wanted you to know that even though you don’t care for me the same I still think you’re one hell of a woman and…… I love you, but I can’t be just physical with you. I want it all or nothing,” He finished.
“Can you pull the car over?” she asked. Sam immediately pulled the car over and turned to face her.
“I need some fresh air,” she said as she hopped out of the car and Sam followed suit.
Charlie was pacing back and forth while Sam was leaning on the hood of the car.
“You love me?” she stopped suddenly.
“Yes, very much.”
“Why?”
“Why?! You’re asking me why I love you?”
“Yes. I want to know if it’s real this time.”
“This time. I’ve been in love with you before?”
“No, but men tend to say things like “I love you” to get women to let their walls down. So if you really love me then I’m sure you know why.”
“I see. Well, I love the way you care about people who are complete strangers to you. You risk your life for them. I love how unique you are, completely different from other women. You are one of a kind, Charlie. You pretend to be okay about things even when you really aren’t, but you hate disappointing others. I love your hair and lips and your –“Sam began.
“You’re getting off subject” she giggled.
“No, I’m not. I love how you don’t realize how beautiful you are because then you wouldn’t be the sweet, kind hearted person you are today. I know we haven’t known each other long, but the time we have been together has jump started my mind and body. When you are near I can feel my skin humming and yearning for your touch. Let’s just take it slow, that is if you love me too?”
Charlie walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. “You know, this is like a scene from those chick flick movies that I hate to watch. The man confesses his love and the woman hesitates for a moment then the man grabs her and kisses her because he knows she truly does love him.”
Sam slowly dipped Charlie and leaned in to softly kiss her lips. Charlie pulled him closer to deepen the kiss and to give him an answer with her whole body, not just her words.
Charlie broke the kiss and whispered against his lips, “I love you, Sam Winchester.”
------------------------------------------------------------
Frankie and Dean were patiently waiting for Charlie and Sam to meet them at the hotel room just outside of town.
“What’s taking them so long?” huffed Frankie.
“Knowing Sammy, he is probably talking about his feelings and all that crap,” Dean answered.
“Yeah. I bet Charlie is freaking.”
“So what are you and Charlie planning on doing since the hunt is over and Charlie is all better?” he asked cautiously.
“Look for another one or take a vacation since this one was tougher than usual,” she replied staring out at the hotel window.
“Just you two,” he mumbled.
Frankie turned and looked at him. “Dean, why in the hell do you think I would want to go anywhere without you? I haven’t even got to test you out good yet.”
With that said, Dean stole a breath from her by swooping in on her lips and forcing them apart with his tongue and claiming her mouth with every movement of his tongue. Dean broke the kiss to only to claim her neck, trailing kisses across her collarbone as his hand slide under her shirt.
This is where a scene has been removed. I don't want to get flagged.
Frankie opened her eyes to see Dean asleep in her arms and remembered how he got there. The most amazing sex she ever had in her life! When Frankie tried to pull herself out of the tangle, she was grabbed and pulled back by his strong arms.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Dean asked with his eyes still closed.
“To take a shower,” she said kissing his chest.
Dean opened his eyes and grabbed the side of her head to tilt her to him. He softly kissed neck softly and then gradually got rougher. “Can I join you? I think this area needs my special attention.” Dean grinned.
Frankie was having trouble understanding the question with his magical tongue distracting her.
“Oh…um mmmm…special…yes….needs….mmmmm…Dean!”
“I think that was a yes,” he laughed.
----------------------------------------------------------
Sam and Charlie arrived at the hotel while Dean and Frankie were at the shouting and crying out in pleasure part of the evening. They decided to go to the diner and get something to eat.
“I’m so glad Frankie is a screamer,” Sam laughed. Charlie raised her eyebrow at him.
“I mean only because we would’ve walked in on them. I’m not turned on by Frankie at all. Who likes a screamer? Unless you are, but I wouldn’t know that yet. Not that I’m calling you a slut. Oh, shut up, Sam.”
“It’s okay, Sam. I understood what you meant. I really don’t want to hear my sister making noises like that, but I do wonder-” Frankie trailed off and gazing deeply into his eyes.
“Wonder what?”
“-what sounds you would make.”
Sam moved awkwardly in his seat and darted his eyes around the room.
“I don’t know,” he said through his teeth.
“Why don’t we find out?”
“Now,” Sam whispered, "You just woke up from a coma."
“Listen, this is so not like me, but after being in a coma and saying I love you, I see things differently now. I think we should live every moment to the fullest because in our line of work you never know what moment is our last. Also, what better way to find out everything still works right since the coma.”
“But Dean and Frankie our in our room doing the same thing.”
“Sam, for a hunter you sure need to find some adventure. How about in the woods? All natural?”
"I've killed too many things in the woods. I would be distracted the whole time."
"How about your car?"
That car was like a home to him with plenty of good and bad memories.
“After you,” he said as he stood up and opened the door to the diner.
Sam didn’t have a lot of room to do what he wanted to do to her, but there was always next time for that. Charlie maybe let everybody tell her what to do at other times, but while making love she a tiger. As soon as he opened the door to the car to let her get in, she grabbed his shirt ripped it so buttons were flying everywhere and pushed him in the car. She then jumped on top of him.
This scene has also been edited. If you want to read them. I can e-mail it.
“Sammy, are you in there? The windows are all fogged up,” Dean voice said near the car.
“Minute.” That was all he could get out at the moment.
“We will wait for you two in the hotel room.”
An hour later Sam and Charlie emerged from the car. It took thirty minutes for her legs to start working again and then make themselves somewhat decent. They knocked on the hotel door.
Frankie and Dean stood at the opened door with accusing smiles.
Charlie blushed. “I’m going to change,” she squeaked as pushed herself through and locked herself in the bathroom.
When Charlie emerged from the bathroom, she found Sam in fresh clothes and a welcoming smile.
“Charlie, you shouldn’t be embarrassed. I’m glad I finally rubbed off on you,” Frankie stated.
“You’re glad I’m gettin' some?”
“Well, yeah.”
“Well, I’m glad you are too. From what we heard, you seemed to like it,” Charlie picked.
Dean flashed a proud smile at Frankie. Frankie retorted, “Yes, I did, but as for hearing I think you guys got the most listeners. Everybody inside the diner and the hotel could hear you. They even had a bet going on how long you would scream.”
Sam came to Charlie side, who’s mouth was hanging open with shock and kissed her until she melted against him.
“Hey, you too. Don’t start that again. They kicked as out of the hotel for disturbing the other customers.”
Sam and Charlie pulled part laughing hysterically in each other’s arms.
“We got another hunt anyways, Sammy.” Sam stiffed at his brothers words. He couldn’t go anywhere without Charlie. He wanted to be with her from here out. Why can’t he have some sort of happiness since his whole life has been death and darkness? No, he was not going to sacrifice Charlie. He would give up hunting and try to have a normal apple pie life with Charlie if that’s what he had to do. She was his future now.
“Dean, I’m not going with you.”
“What?”
“I’m going with Charlie. We are going to hunt together or whatever she wants. Charlie, isn’t just a notch in my belt loop. I’m sorry, but I’m not giving her up.”
“I’m sorry to hear that because Frankie and I thought you two would want to hunt with us.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. What the hell do you mean ‘notch in my belt’? You make me sound like a dick!”
“Well, until now you were," Sam admitted.
Frankie laughed, “I agree he was, but now he’s my dick. Anyways, we are all going to stay together except get separate rooms from now on.” Charlie blushed again as her sister glanced at her.
They loaded up their stuff and checked out of the hotel. Frankie and Dean are in the Chevy and Sam and Charlie are in the truck.
Sam shouts at Dean from the driver’s side of the truck, “Hey! Where are we going now?”
“Stories about employees stealing from their employers and then killing themselves. Tell you about it on the next stop.”
Dean rolls his window up in his car and turns on the radio. Frankie quickly changes the channel to a 90’s alternative song. Dean turns to her about to tell her his car rule when Frankie stops him by putting her hand on his inner thigh and says “Girlfriend picks the music. Boyfriend shuts his cakehole and drives.” Dean swallowed hard and put the car in gear and speed out of the parking lot leaving Sam in the dust trailing behind him.
The End! I enjoyed writing it so I hope you enjoyed reading it!
