Description: It's on tonight!

Claire39 - April 6, 2008 09:49 AM (GMT)
Hey

Thought I'd make a start!! Only about 10 hours to go!!

If anyone hasn't seen this episode and is reading this... this is the one you have to see (series finales not withstanding!). This has got to be right up there as one of the best ever!

When I first read about this one I wasn't that keen! A 'Groundhog Day' idea didn't appeal that much...but boy was I wrong!!! It's awesome!

So even if you've got plans tonight, cancel them and watch this! You won't be disappointed!!!

Of course, this is just my opinion!!!

empala67 - April 6, 2008 12:23 PM (GMT)

Rhesa - April 6, 2008 09:20 PM (GMT)
Hey did you guys notice tonight, after Dean had really died and it cuts to Sam driving the Impala, across the bottom of the screen it said 6 months later :o !!!!

I don't think it said that on the US version, so everyone assumed it had been 3 months. But poor Sam 6 whole months without Dean :cry

becs - April 6, 2008 09:24 PM (GMT)
yeah i noticed that.i thought maybe it was just cut off the version i watched.
six months makes it worse poor sam and makes the hug even more meaningful.

my fave episode.i laughed and cried and loved the hug.it was so sweet.
the trickster was a good twist but i am still confused whether he was helping sam.it showed how important dean is to sam and his life.

becs xx

poppy - April 6, 2008 09:30 PM (GMT)
I think they did it cos we don't get the full season so they can get to a year on from the deal, I did not notice it was not on the US version.

I want to know what the other ways Dean died????????

EnglishLass - April 6, 2008 09:31 PM (GMT)
OMG, this episode was amazing. :D :D

I wanted to give a hug Sam every time Dean died, is that wrong of me?

As much as I don't want to see either brother go to the bad side (for me the series is about their relationship), I thought that the way they depicted Sam after Dean died on Wednesday was brilliant. He became John, the really well laid out car, and the way that the investigation is up on the wall, we have only really seen this once with the brothers (Dead in the Water).

Dean trusting Sam shows how great their relationship really is.

I thought that there were a some really great lines:-

Dean - Cause I peed myself, man gets hit by a car, you think that he has full control of his bladder.

The whole scene in the diner where they're parroting each other, the timing of Jensen and Jared is amazing, they have done this in a couple of other episodes but not for as long (Shadow..).

My least favourite death scene - the axe closely followed by the car :hide

My funniest death scene - the table landing on him (very Wizard of Oz)
:rotfl

The saddest death scene - this has to be a tie between first and last. The first as it was such a shock to Sam and he thought that he had more time with Dean to get him out of the deal and the last as he thought that he was still in the loop and would wake up..
:cry

darthnikki - April 6, 2008 09:33 PM (GMT)
You had to feel for Sam the poor guy. Watching his brother die, then thinking its all over just for it to happen again!!!!! What did the trickster mean anyhow?? Is all this season just some sick joke he's created?? The wait is killing me!!!

rayuk666 - April 6, 2008 09:33 PM (GMT)
I am not squemish, I don't hide my head behind cushions at scary points in the film, I try not to look away at grusome parts but when Dean got hit by that car and when I knew the thing was gonna drop on him my eyes refused to open...

I love and hate this episode. One thing I like about it was the humour even though it was sad at points - my parents aren't obsessed like me and neither is my brother but they really really liked this episode especially the funny. This is a perfect episode to show someone that you wanna get hooked onto the show.

And on an end note to this post - I LOVE THE TRICKSTER! I don't know but he seems like a good bad guy type demi-god... Why else would he have called Sam back to that place? He knew he was gonna have to bring Dean back... he could have just as easily have left him dead.

poppy - April 6, 2008 09:38 PM (GMT)
Maybe Ruby had something to do with it cos she did say that she need to get Sammy ready, And Dean did not seem that fazed by it all, Maybe this was a {granted sick way} To get him ready for life with out Dean.

empala67 - April 6, 2008 09:47 PM (GMT)
Ok so hands up anyone who didn`t love this episode. :D

It is by far IMO the best yet. It had everything, angst, comedy and fine acting.

Dean`s first death scene was on a parr with Sam`s in AHBL, his eyes just said it all" Sam I don`t wanna die, save me, I`m scared. :cry

Then the rest of the deaths were funny I loved the desk one and the axe one. The mimic scene in the cafe was hilarious. The boys must have been mentally exhausted after trying to get that right. :D

Dean`s final death was heartbreaking and I`m going to be honest and say I didn`t think Jared did as good a job as Jensen when Dean lost Sam. Shoot me now! :hide

Sam on his own on the other hand was wonderful. He was just emotionless and robotic almost. I mean he virtually turned into John in the way he planned everything and was going after the one thing that killed Dean. Anyone notice two dinners on the table? Sam in denial!

Got to mention the way he removed the bullet and stitched himself :thud :thud ( yes I admit I had to quickly climb out of the gutter before I missed the rest) :o

What I don`t get is how the Trickster new about Dean`s deal and why he wanted to make Sam realise he couldn`t help Dean? In a way helping him! (or am I over analysing it?)

The last shots of Sam leaving the motel room.......heartbreaking also, that really made me fill up. Looking back at the bed in the hope he wouldn`t wake up there again without Dean :cry

Excellent!!! Kripke really thought of everything to make this the best yet! : :bow :bow :bow

Brilliant! After a bit of a slow start, this season is really heating up! I just loved dean dancing at Sam, I almos wet myself laughing! which brings me to..."You peed yourself".

And was I the only person who found angsty, angry lone hunter Sam hotas freakin' hell? Ummm, yummy.

But the first and last deaths...coupled with Sam begging the Trickster to turn back time. I got really emotional (it might have been the night-nurse, I have the flu right now). :cry After the episode I went and found my little sister and threw my arms around her. I was like: "Dude, I love you! Don't you die on me, promise me!" and she was like "Ewww, get off me you freak! You'll give me the plague!" Then she gave me a slap.

So much for family love.

Ushani - April 6, 2008 11:48 PM (GMT)
ok, Im gonna try not to write too much, as every week i writye an essay, and well, yeah.
You weren't the only person who found angsty, angry lone hunter Sam hot as freakin' hell.... he was soooo cool... it gave us a mini taster on what the future would be like if dean died... i thought he was kl...
spn did start off slow, and i have heat of the moment in my head! lolol
the deaths were cool... I could predict the car coming out of nowhere...
and I just loved the idea, groundhog day style...
also, it was a good episode coz it went with the ending of last week's episode...

no offence, but Dean's deaths were quite sad... it's all about the deaths that make it important enough to cry about... its all in the acting!
It was like in smallville on c4 today (sunday), when lana was having this cramp from (something; this is s6 btw) and lex is like "lana are you okay?" and then she falls asleep but actually, she was supposed to have dramatically passed out, and it didnt look like it, but anyway, she sucked at making the audience anxious. i was like "ok she's fallen asleep, why have they taken her to smallville medical center?" anyway....

my fave death had to be between the dog and fighting over the axe! lolololol

i liked it when they spoke in unison! lololol :lol2:

but even though thbe trickster was evil, he actually did have a good point to what he said... its all true... he needs to learn how to let go (even though we dont want him to!) :(

I wonder how many takes it took to catch the bottle? I wonder if they actually got jared to catch the bottle.. it was definitely him, right?

it was a great episode, it had humour, horror (in a tarantino kinda way, just gruesome) and the hard to deal with truth. It had sooo much angst in the end.. and i was terrified if Bobby had actually been killed!!! argh!
I loved that trickster! If he comes back next season, that would be cool!
the hug at the end was adorable!!!! aw....

now i will shut up because this is getting too long! :)

crazyisgood - April 7, 2008 01:20 PM (GMT)
This has to be my favourite episode, and that's hard to say as I can name at least on on every disc of my DVDs.
I just watched an interview with Jared and he said it was harder to keep watching his on screen brother die than die himself.
That trickster actually did what Ruby and Dean were trying to do but now I think it'll actually make him want to save his brother more.
I felt so sorry for Sam though as his brother has just said he doesn't want to die and go to hell then he has to watch him die over and over again. The fact that by the six months later part that he was totally emotionless was very upsetting, especially when Bobby hugged him and he just stood there, that really broke my heart, even though I am a huge Dean girl this had to be my Sammy moment.
I must admit I was nearly in tears when Dean died the first time, but I don't get all that emotional even if it's something in my real life so then people think I'm heartless when actually I just don't really show it.
Anyway, going off at a tangent that was, the funniest death for me was the axe, you didn't see it but the sound and the blood splattering on the owners face with him screaming was just too funny.
Anything else...I don't think so...Oh yeah his hair changed in the shower to a mohawk that was small but funny to me and also the fact he was IN THE SHOWER.
OK now that must be it and I've written far too much.

Missmgoo - April 7, 2008 01:56 PM (GMT)
I loved this episode.. thought it was hilarious.. especially the desk falling on dean.. I laughed for about ten mins and I still chuckle now when I think about it (God.. how cruel am I?? tee hee hee)

Also Dean's dancing was quiet funny and poor litte Sammy...

Showed his darker side again tho when he was willing to kill to summon the trickster..

Poor Sammy.. losing Dean would tear him apart..

irismay42 - April 7, 2008 05:36 PM (GMT)
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed the '6 months later' caption - definitely wasn't on the US broadcast version coz I checked straight after - it had a pop-up advert for Pussycrap Girls!!!

It's absolutely heartbreaking that the last three eps up to next week's ep are so incredible and just as the season was getting into high gear the writers strike happened. I really hope it can pick up the momentum again for the last four episodes!

And I'm such a fangirl... Favourite part of the episode? Yeah. The hug. Had to be...

Anyone else hoping they play Heat of the Moment at Asylum at some point??

hobbleit - April 7, 2008 05:39 PM (GMT)
I loved the hug too! It made me all warm inside.

I also loved Dean getting squashed. My brother saw the bit where the dog killed him and even he laughed and he doens't even watch it
