I should probably emphasise here that this story is most definitely set in the VS 'verse! (Otherwise the ending won't make much sense!!) :D

You keep turning me to the evil ' WeeChester' darkside Iris.... Nicely done ma'am. Still love the underlying theme and how it worked so nicely together with a few other of our Christmas stories .... oops - hope that didnt give anything away... maybe a little VS Christmas spoilery- hahahahah!

warriorgrrrl - December 26, 2007 10:36 PM (GMT)

irismay42 - December 26, 2007 10:55 PM (GMT)
Glad you guys enjoyed it! I hope it wasn't too saccharin or too depressing in turns!

Aaah, Tree, the Wee!chester Darkside beckons... Give in to the Darkside... For once you turn to the Darkside forever will it dominate your Destiny... Consume you it will... :fire Your time will come, madam...!

supernaturalsam - December 27, 2007 01:07 AM (GMT)
I just loved this all over again, Iris! The flashbacks are just so wonderful and I absolutely adore when you do Wee!Chesters...you are just so damn good at it! :D

But I think the best part is reading through your reviews and learning you are turning Tree into a Wee!chester fan! She will learn to come to the Darkside soon enough, especially if you keep writing brilliant stuff like this!

Great job! :cheer

I enjoy Wee!Chesters stories :)
Sammy believing in Santa, that was so cute :D
And DEan doing his best to cheer up his little brother Christmas, so sweet :D
I loved the idea of a glimpse of Christmas day from different years :)
Nicely done Irismay :)

Iris, I love your style. Great work with this one.

irismay42 - December 27, 2007 04:16 PM (GMT)
You see, once you read it, Wee!chester ain't so bad, right? heh heh heh... I'll convert you all eventually...!

Oceane, this was actually written before I saw the SN Xmas episode, so I wasn't at all surprised that Sam believed in Santa up until that point - that was why I wrote him as a Believer in my story. I think he's more receptive to there being a 'good' side to balance out all the evil they see in the world than Dean is (that's why he's so eager to believe in angels in HOTH). So yeah, Little!Sammy would totally believe in Santa! I'm not sure whether Dean would have had the heart to just blurt out that he didn't exist like he did in the Xmas episode though... which is probably why I didn't include how Sam found out in my story! Hopefully Dean would have broken it to him a little more gently!

Thanks to all you guys for reading anyway! Enjoy the next story!

Oh Iris, I loved this so much. From Mary saying that no son of hers was ever going to have a gun ( oh Mary...:cry ) to Auntie Kate who was just wonderful. And to Adorable!Sammy with his tsunami curls and his Tigger impersonation. And then to Sammy wanting some lights and Dean threatening to punch Santa's lights out if he didn't bring Sammy a present. And from Sammy missing John at Christmas to Dean missing him and Sam starting to get angry about John not being there. Which led to Sam's relentless slide into conflict and alienation with his family.

Christmas is usually a time of hope and good things. Their Christmas message was that you don't always get what you want. Truthful, yes, but they learnt that truth in such cruel, harsh and bleak ways. Poor boys. :(

Wonderful story, hun. :clap

irismay42 - December 29, 2007 03:42 PM (GMT)
I know, this was a bit of an angst-fest really wasn't it? I was hoping wide-eyed Tigger!Sammy might make up for it a little though!

Despite never having known 'normal' like Dean had, I always picture Sam as a more 'normal' kid than Dean. Certainly grown-up Sam seems more willing to believe that there's good out there to balance out the evil they fight (as in HOTH), so I think he would have believed in Santa for a lot longer than Dean ever did.

Hopefully the ending gave the boys a glimmer of happiness that unfortunately the 'actual' show can't offer them!!!

great story...just the right mix of angst and heartwarming moments. i really enjoyed reading it!

irismay42 - January 4, 2008 07:18 PM (GMT)
Glad you enjoyed it Lilly! I was kinda worried it veered too much between sickly sweet and angst-o-rama!

Thanks for taking the time to read and review! ;)

Brillian story! I absolutely loved it. It made me feel weepy and smiley all at the same time :D

irismay42 - January 26, 2008 12:08 PM (GMT)
Glad you enjoyed it Supernatch! I was hoping it wasn't too depressing!

Just finished reading this, and seriously I had to take a break so I wouldn't be crying all over my computer and cause a short or something. Poor Dean all alone at Christmas broke my heart. Very sweet, very hurty, terrific characterizations, I loved it. Thanks so much for sharing.

I've got to stop making people cry... I'm going to get a reputation!!!
