Santa Clara Valley, CA
It had been a week since the brothers had received the ill-fated letter. They had been visiting Ellen at the Rest Stop, having a good time until she reappeared with it clutched between her tense fingers. Sam opened it to reveal what seemed like a Will made out for any living Winchester heirs. Dean originally thought it was a fake, but even he couldn’t deny the authenticity of the document.
So they were off to see the only thing in the Will left for them: a large estate. Sam sighed, once again viewing the letter’s contents in disbelief. Dean cast an eye over at his little brother worriedly viewing the document, yet again.
“You know Sam, no matter how you look at it that piece of paper it will never alter in any way,” Dean said sarcastically, causing Sam to shoot Dean his famous glare.
“Yeah I know that, Dean. But still, don’t you think it’s a little odd that we get this now? I mean, why not earlier?” Sam mused out loud.
“Well I don’t know, but there’s no harm in going to see what this ‘Large Estate’ is, right?” Dean said, reaching out to tap the document.
“It just seems a little too coincidental, Dean,” Sam muttered, casting a skeptical glance at his brother.
“Sam, it’ll be fine. Stop being such a fun sucker, there’s no harm in going to look at something,” Dean stated, swatting Sam.
It was midday when they finally drove into the “drive way”. Sam felt his mouth drop open in stunned surprise, while Dean rubbed his eyes to make sure he was seeing correctly. Sam got out of the car and turned to look at his stunned brother.
“Large estate my ass, this thing’s probably got its own county. The freaking driveway is a parking lot! What the hell?” Dean said, running a hand through his dark hair.
“No harm in coming to look, right? Dean, look at the architecture of the house. It’s like a maze slash death trap waiting to happen!” Sam said, gesturing to the random door leading out of the house…from the third story.
The brothers walked up the sidewalk and into the odd house. They were soon greeted by an employee.
“Hello, welcome to the Winchester Mystery House, how can I help you?” the smiling woman said.
“Um, we got this in the mail…we’re not really sure who to talk to about this,” Dean said lamely, handing the letter out to the woman.
Sam cast a wicked grin at Dean, who promptly stomped on the younger brother’s foot. Sam looked at the woman’s name tag, it said: Hello, my name is Jasmine.
“Oh, we’ve been expecting you two. If you’ll follow me, I’ll take you to the main office. Oh, and be careful it’s easy to get lost in here,” Jasmine said, grinning.
“Hey, I saw you looking at her boobs, Sam,” Dean whispered to Sam.
“I was not! I wanted to know what her name was, you pervert!” Sam said as his face turned crimson.
The two brothers walked into the spacious office where they assumed the manager worked. He was a small man, barely reaching up to Sam’s chest area, yet he seemed to radiate intimidation.
“Mr. Morris, these are the Winchester brothers you sent the Will to,” Jasmine said, gesturing to Sam and Dean.
“Yes, yes the Winchester heirs. I’m very busy, so to sum it up this whole house is yours. Feel free to do what you want to it, although it is open to the general public. Please let me know if you two need anything, I’m terribly sorry I must go, ask Jasmine to show you around,” Mr. Morris said breathlessly as he hurried out the door.
“Um, ok…,” Sam murmured to the retreating back.
Jasmine came back to lead them back to the main hall. Although, something seemed different about her face, it seemed worried.
“Is something wrong, Jasmine?” Sam asked once they had stepped out onto the sidewalk.
“Yeah, no offence, but you look like your dog died,” Dean followed, catching Sam’s glance.
“I just…I just think you should know about this house and what goes on once everyone’s not here,” Jasmine said nervously.
“Oh? What’s that?” Sam asked gently.
“Since the house was built, anyone who’s a Winchester seems to fall prey to odd occurrences, but it’s just a rumor I’ve heard,” she said, once again donning a smile.
“Well, I’ve got to go, but it was nice meeting some real life Winchesters,” Jasmine grinned before making her way back into the estate.
“Sam…your girlfriend’s creepy. Not to mention, she’s hiding something,” Dean said, pointing at the retreating back.
“She’s. Not. My. Girlfriend,” Sam hissed through gritted teeth.
“Yeah, whatever. Let’s go find a hotel to stay at okay, Sammy?” Dean chuckled, turning back towards the Impala.
Sam shook his head and cast a final glance up at the gigantic house. He skimmed the odd architecture, stopping at a peculiar window. Sam squinted; he thought he’d seen someone watching them through the glass. Sam sighed and walked back to the car thinking, ‘something’s off about this house, I just can’t shake the feeling…’

Oh. My. Gosh!!!
I'm so excited because I'm pretty sure I know exactly what house you're talking about!
I was watching the like 10 Creepiest places on the Travel Channel, and this house was like number 2!
And I must say, despite all the graveyards and other places they showed, this house creeped me out the most! Probably because, if I were ever to go there, I would be deathly afraid of getting lost!
With all the crazy stuff that's in that house, geesh!
Anyway, this is a great idea for a story!! Poor Sammy and Dean, they have no idea what they're up against!!!
Awesome start!
(oh and I love the part where Dean says that Sammy was looking at Jasmine's chest, and not her nametag! Upstairs brain Dean, Upstairs!)
Can't wait for what's next!

I’m in a peculiar room, nails scattered about and I’m staring at an unfinished wall. The hammer, heavy in my hand, is smooth and cool to the touch. I bring it up and strike a silver nail into the wood with a resounding BANG.
That’s when it all goes wrong. I can hear someone crying, pleading, and hopelessly begging. The wood with the fresh nail in it begins to bleed slowly as I watch in fascinated horror. I’m searching the room, trying to find something clearly lost and the room begins to dim. There’s someone there, in the room, just watching me calmly. Then they all come, quietly sliding into the room. My hand’s on the door knob and I begin to shake.
I’m running as fast as I can, the hallway seeming to never end. Am I doomed to forever reside in this house of horrors? I don’t understand. The shadows grow larger, following me on the wall. Not even when I whimper with fear do they falter in their deathly march. Someone grabs my hand, softly tugging for my attention. She is an old woman, claimed by the house years ago, yet she still smiles pulling me in close.
She murmurs into my ear, “I never stopped loving you, my dear.”
I don’t know why, but I begin to cry. I have never met this woman, never, but I feel like I know her somehow. Her withered face tells a tale of sorrow and stress, but never did it seem to forget what happiness felt like. I held onto her hand, not wanting to let go, but fate sought otherwise and she faded away…

Santa Clara Valley (motel~ night time)
Sam trembled from the power of his dream. It felt so real and yet he knew that it was another sign warning him about that mansion. He drew himself into a ball, hugging his arms together, and silently started to cry. Sam couldn’t let Dean hear him because it was a family code that crying was forbidden. The tears dampened the pillow covering, Sam couldn’t stop himself. He just felt the mansion was calling out, screaming in fury because no one knew what pain it housed within the twisted walls.
Sam ran a trembling hand over his eyes to wipe away the tears on his face and to his horror he let out a small sob. He heard Dean shifting, probably tilting his head to get a better look at his little brother. Sam willed himself to fall back into a restless sleep; he did not want to explain anything to Dean right now.

Motel (morning)
Dean sat his bed while munching on an apple, casting a critical glance at the sleeping figure of his younger brother. He swore he’d heard Sam crying last night, every nerve in his body was urging him to go and comfort his pain in the ass brother. However, something held him back. Sam had been saying some weird stuff lately, stuff about that gift-from-god mansion they’d just obtained and it made him nervous. It wasn’t like Sam to be this stubborn about something; he usually caved about halfway through the day.
As much as he hated to admit it, he felt something really off about that house. It gave him a “Rose Red” feeling. Although the prospect of a hunt was possible, Dean wouldn’t do it without his younger brother. Sighing softly he pulled out Sam’s laptop and began to research their new house.
“Son of a bitch,” Dean whispered, looking at the screen in disbelief.
There were 1,000,000 hits, all on this one mansion. They all blared stories about how the house was jammed packed with ghosts hell bent on harming anyone with the name ‘Winchester’.
With a snarl, Dean slammed the laptop closed with a loud snap. He winced slightly as Sam rustled the covers in his sleep. Dean scribbled a note and exited the room. He needed to find something out and only one person could answer him: Jasmine.

beautifully written! :)
And Sam quietly crying in his bed, trying to hide his tears from Dean, so sad! :(
Dean has an off feeling about the house too, but obviously Sam is feeling something much stronger! As usual, Sam really needs to confide in his brother!!!
And Dean's research, all those hits on the website!!! Just hope he's doing the right thing in leaving Sam alone and going to speak to Jasmine! At least he has left Sam a note!!!
Looking forward to reading more! :)

Motel
Dean was long gone when Sam finally opened a bleary from his bed. He was afraid that he was going insane. The dreams were getting more and more intense, often ending badly. Sam shifted, casting a glance to where Dean should have been.
“Dean?” Sam murmured to empty air.
He was met with an uncomfortable silence. Sam sat up quickly, kicking off the sheets of the bed. He moved to the bathroom, praying Dean was in there, but he wasn’t. The growing pit of sorrow in his chest was painfully beating; he couldn’t believe Dean left him…alone. Sam tugged on a shirt and a ragged pair of jeans before he left the room. He was beginning to shake uncontrollably, warm tears spilling onto the pavement where the Impala had previously been parked. Sam bent down, the pain getting too intense for him to bear. God, what was happening?
“Dean…don’t let her get me…,” Sam whimpered, his eyesight fading.

Winchester House
Dean strolled into the lavish entry way, pausing to take in the fact that all this was his and Sammy’s. He jerked his leather jacket, forcing himself to focus on what he had come to do. Dean walked towards the visitor area, scanning the room for the creepily happy girl. He had a distinct feeling she was hiding something from him and Sam, but she left before he had the chance to press the subject.
Dean spotted a lurid pink shirt swimming among the new visitors entering the mansion’s double doors. Sighing inwardly, he forced himself to walk over to her. Jasmine never saw him approaching, which was a good thing because she had a nasty habit of disappearing. Dean put a hand on her arm, that way he’d be able to thwart any possible means of escape. ‘Thwart any means of escape? Oh god, now I’m treating her like a demon…on second thought, I wouldn’t put it past her.’ Dean thought grimly.
Jasmine turned to face Dean, plastering a fake smile on her face. ‘Oh god, gag me. Please, please be a demon…’ Dean daydreamed. He shook the thought away and grinned innocently back. He wasn’t going to let her get away easily.
“Oh, hello Dean. How can I help you today?” Jasmine asked in a sugary tone.
“Well, for starters you can tell me why exactly Winchesters ought to beware this place and then throw in any helpful hints along the way,” Dean said, leading her outside and onto the sidewalk.
“Dean, please, I don’t want any trouble. Just forget what I said, it was a stupid lapse in judgment,” Jasmine said nervously.
“A ‘Lapse in Judgment’? No, you don’t get out of it that easily, sweetie. You obviously thought it had some fragment of importance, so spill,” Dean said, voice rising.
“I guess it wouldn’t hurt…but…,” Jasmine started out uncertainly.
“But, what?” Dean repeated impatiently.
“But, there’s never been any real factual evidence that any of the events ever took place. The people who work here are very secretive about certain things. But from what I’ve managed to get, you need to know about them in case they have any truth,” Jasmine said, taking in a breath.
“Well, this may seem odd, but this house has a serious ‘Rose Red’ complex. The original Mrs. Winchester was constantly building and creating new parts for the estate. She had been told by a fortune teller that she would be punished by each and every soul that had been killed by the Winchester Rifle. So she decided to use the money left to her by her late husband to build a house designed to trick the spirits. So long as she kept building and creating, she would be safe. However, she eventually disappeared never to be seen again and ever since, any Winchester brave enough to go into the depths of the house has always gotten hurt in some way,” Jasmine finished.
“Wow…you know I could have Googled the whole summary about the house, right?” Dean muttered at Jasmine.
“Look, you asked. Now if you please, I have to go work now,” Jasmine huffed, stomping off before Dean could ask anymore questions.
“Well, this accomplished nothing. I still have more questions for Miss Encyclopedia and she keeps shaking me off,” Dean sighed to himself, frustrated at the apparent dead end.
Dean got into his black Impala and revved the engine. He would pester Sam into searching the internet for more clues. However, things weren’t in Dean’s favor. When he arrived at the motel parking lot Dean was met with the flashing lights of an Ambulance and to his horror, it was Sam being carried along on a stretcher. He threw the car into a parking spot and jumped out, running to his brother’s side. ‘I was only gone for ten minutes. Oh god, Sammy…’ Dean thought.
“Wait, I’m his older brother. What’s happened to him?” Dean said, digging his fingers into one of the Paramedics.
“We’re not sure, but after a few tests we should know. One of the motel residents found him lying out in the parking lot, breathing erratically,” The male paramedic told Dean.
“BUT WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM!?” Dean yelled, panic creeping into his voice.
“My best guess is something scared him so much it gave him a heart attack,” The medic said, jumping into the Ambulance.
“We’ll be at Mayfield Hospital. Sorry, but you’ll have to take your own car,” The medic said sympathetically before slamming shut the doors.
Dean watched in stunned silence as the Ambulance sped off down the road with ‘Something scared him so much it gave him a heart attack…’ echoing in his ears.
