I've been hearing more and more good things about "The Movies", a recent simulation game that puts you in control of a movie studio. A person can make machinama with it, too. I haven't installed it yet (been slavishly working on Stabby's site), but once I give it a whirl, I'll let everyone know.

Has anyone else tried this game?

I loved playing Diablo II, but my very favoritest (not a real word) rpg of all was Arcanum. Really Steam Punky. You could be Magic or Tech in a world reminiscent of the 19th Century. Very cool string quartet for the sound track. I think it was the most awarded least played game of the year.

My favorite shooter was Serious Sam (I & II). My son was experimenting with the gore settings and found one called "Hippie". When you killed the monsters, instead of blood splattering all over flowers burst forth (4th?). When you killed a boss there were flowers everywhere! Instead of chunks of gore ... fruit. Now much as I love blood and gore this was so off the wall it was cool.

Heh, flowery gore...weird! I guess that IS the stuff inside hippies!
