The latest news from this saga is that France declined the opportunity to push FIFA into given both sides a rematch of their World Cup qualifier that ended in controversy. For those unaware, French strike Thierry Henry handled (touched ball with his hands) the ball to keep it in play before centering it and William Gallas headed it into the net. Henry admitted to using his hand (though stated the obvious) but a replay was denied. So France is still going to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup as the Irish settle for waiting for 2014.
